One small correction though, they did try to recently promote the game, remember? They brought it out on Steam, but with all the other problems you listed it got -2 out of 5 stars, which until they promoted on steam it wasn't possible to get negative stars.

It is an abandoned game to the hands of pve-pvp bots..about the events...the best were before High Five update..

This ^ is a valid point. Some things could be better managed,but really it's survived a long time. Even now I'm surprised it's still going. A lot of Veteran players have long since left, as soon as the game went free I lost my long time clan and friends and they went to another game and never looked back.

True...it really is a good game. I've just plain lost interest. It's become a money sink, and a d**k measuring contest. There's nothing new...no surprises...just a new "something" you just have to have. So sick of the cycle. I don't even log in anymore. There's surprisingly so many other things to do when not wasting away in front of the L2 screen. Too many "pros" with calculators and credit cards claiming to be enjoying themselves. lol. Keep on keeping on fools. Latez!

You are the voice of reason, Brosh.Maybe I was at one point, but now that I'm more or less done playing, I'm trying to keep my thoughts to myself and only browsing here over my coffee in the morning, as it's become one of my normal stops. I'll still be peeking around, just not saying much...I feel non players should leave the fighting to the ones who are still in the thick of it all, so I'll adhere to that myself. Enjoy! ;-)
I started in 04 and quit when GoD came out. I pop in every now and then on the forums to see if there are any familiar faces from when I played. The game was good up until it became free to play. The game became infested with even more bots and unreliable players. The NCStore made it even worse. Game lacked a sense of achievement and difficulty once the NCStore was introduced. There was some good from this game since I quit. In a year, I will achieve my bachelors degree in Political Science with a minor in business. I was able to meet a nice woman, get more in shape and move my way up in the work force. Looking to join the military as an officer in about a year or two to get assistance with law school somehow. Lineage 2 was fun while it lasted for me at least.

checking out a game and rating it is completely different too actually playing game and run into a wall off PvE bots and when u managed to pass this wall u run into PvP bots.
thus the game as a >>>MMO<<< is pointless cus u run from 1 wall into another unless u wanna change ur MMO into a small amount of friends only MMO then yes but then ur limited to not doing other stuff..
either way l2 is ruined by the players and GM's not giving a rats *** about million of bots.

this. most damage is caused by the players. Rmters and the mentally destroyed ones who use scripts for pvp. Thing is, the more players those botters will throw away of game, the more p2w will be to ''feel the gap'' on the incoming $$. Its going only down.. worst and worst every year, less players dead pvp and the damage you receive from a stacked rmt/rich increase as well :D i think ncsoft/west will just continue to milk the cow till noone left in game (last men standing will be some botters pvp each other with 100k $$ gear each one). They dont even try to fix the game, they dont believe that it can be fixed.. The end is comming :D
1)First and main reason is the huge unlimited donat and also unlimited difference btw normal characters and top donators ones... Actually if i cant beat 1% players on server its already pain full... And here... donno.. just no comments...
I am 1 hit for most donators... 1 hit = 70k+ dmg and bb... I know many ppls who left server after took 300-500k damages at sieges...
They making 10-20 times stronger chars which are like raid bosses and then control all best farm areas such as dragons, gainak and etc...
And you almost cant countermeasure it, cuz you need be like 100+ vs 20 to die 5-10 times for kill 1 donator... Problem is that even top farm areas is not enough to feed 100+ players zerg, while for 10-20 players its perfect...
Better not even go there...
Actually i cant get why exist so many items which CANT be get from game?!
All this talismans, jewels, potions... Where to get them? Why they not dropped from mobs/boss/instances?!
In general something must be changed here... to avoid 1 character lvl 102 be same like 20 characters lvl 99, like its now... (LIKE IT WAS AT PREVIOUS L2versions)
2)Cheating and scripting during pvp... JUST OMG! BAN THEM ALL LOL...
Ok if player bot for pve... **** it... but script/cheat in pvp?! just for what?!

You people at the forum seem to make it sound like there are a lot of donators ruining the game but the truth is there are not that many...They make maybe 0.1% of L2 population?? maybe less. Some people seem to like the idea of focusing on the negatives and OVER-GENERALIZE that 0.1% as if it's 90%.

Listen man, you have no idea what you are talking about. Those 5-10% donators you talking about, made other 90% of population loose interest. Just because the gear difference is so insanely big that 1 guy can kill 50 solo... Just watch ceremony of chaos for example ... Personally i have char 101 level and my gear worth like 150b and it took me years to farm the adena ... and still got 567k dmg once ......... Those adena cost lots of money and dont know if you realised but 95% of people in this planet (maybe much more) cant spent that much for a freaking game. So no matter what, a casual player will never enjoy pvp because there are people like you who spent like 50-100k euros/dollars. You guys destroy game, pay a bit is ok its normal and its good to do to support game but if you give your whole house to kill everything that your eye can catch 1 shot .. then you have a big problem mate and also you destroy our ingame fun.Also you will get borred really soon, its not fun to just press f1 and other is dead, game should be fun you know... Learn play equally and then play the smart donator in forums
To nrthrst. You`re being killed not by donators but by RMT running Bot masters which paid 0 of thier own cash but they exchanged adena for Ncoin. (the same people who milked the dead servers and the ones who control the bot trains and then they buy items during events extremely cheap and resell cause they have the budget for it)
There are people who spent insanely huge amount of cash and you would never say that when you would look at them - cause majority of the events were money pit or 0 luck disasters.
And no a pve playing donator wouldnt be able to destroy the gam - but ppl who RMT do that.
That`s how the majority of dark gear is being obtained - by real cash exchange :)
Me and my friends have been playing on Zaken 8 months and bought about $2000 in L2 store stuff each of us in the 1st 6 months. so over 6 month thats 300$ per month, on a big time hobby that is a lot now? 1 good hotel room cost on weekend is $200. haha.
I absolutely wreck people on my 101 PR at siege. Its very fun now. it took months of my time to level, grind up k90/k95/k99 but i finally make it. didnt use any powerlevel just XP item. slowly built my gears, finally get my +11 dark bow, eternal set +8 etc.
Sorry if you cant afford $300 a month. i havnt even now bought anything for 2 months now that my gear is done :D So now i have to pay $15. now i make adena ingame to pay for things.
L2 does cost money, even if you pay $150 a month, you can build a good char easily, but a bit longer time. L2 is not just a game its a hobby. Of course some players can spend $4000 a month, so what? many of these guys just look for gamble on gear/events/enchant or maybe play siege. they dont even grind at gainak or do world pvp or other events.
Archers are strong? MAKE AN ARCHER. 2/5 people in my RL CP are PR 101 we can kill the people who spend 10k+ USD

If you dont have good patience for a few months to build to become strong, dont't play L2.

Why lineage 2 is dead?
1 - Bots, bots and more bots and lack of care from ncwest to punish them. They could, they just don't.
2 - Scripts in pvp
3 - Unbalanced crap (dev decisions).
4 - Players like this guy and many others.

you cant go out and hunt and craft for your buddies a few r99 armors with some teamwork cus droprate on everything is terrible and adena drop might aswell be removed..

funny thing is that you yourself can hadle hardcore mmorpg becouse you use money to help you get items and lvl up :) and becouse of that it is no more hardcore. just try to lvl up your new character from 0 wihout help from donation or other ppl that is hardcore to play more than year and dont have lvl 101 or sometimes even 100 to farm for hours and just barely manage to get you soul shots price back that is hardcore, if you play spending money even if it is not alot for you you play the easyer game it becomes softcore not hard enymore. thats just my opinion

You don't know the meaning of the word HARDCORE! Hardcore is sticking with this game for 10+ years and grinding the old fashion way without any help whatsoever... no vitality, no xp runes, no NOTHING... just blood, sweat and tears! So unless you're an L2 veteran you really don't know what you're talking about. Oh, and the idiots that are still spending upwards of $1000+ a month? They seriously need to have their heads examined. Trust me I played Sieghardt, Kain, Teon, Franz. 2003-04-05 etc. C1/C2/C3/C4 etc. I know the grind.
Now that im older I understand what it takes to compete at the higher levels of the game, plus I can afford it. Ive never dominated as hard now as I did back in the old days, everyone was collectively weaker though.
The only main difference is scripting, should be delt with to keep the game alive but who knows their plans? Ive never touched it, unlike so many people on zaken that have gotten temp bans.

cuz the +12 glow is pink and gross. The dark purple of +11 bow matches with my longing.
Fun fact: Freya event rewarded Royal Red save cards that are good for +11 and under. The enchant can go 1-3. So I want to try a red card when event comes back. I could get a +14 bow :D
