Hi all I played this game years ago when ot forst came out. My old account is long go so I will be starting again.
My question : Can I start from scratch now and still enjoy the game ? Are there enough people to play and group with and experience content with still ?

You want be a PvP machine or enoguh with some PvE? if u dont have $$$ better try other server, even private server are better than any of 4 ncwest servers.. :D imho.
I'm happy playing PVE and was looking at the monthly subscription ?? So the phrase "Truly free" is BS ??
It's for real Trully Free to play, but it's Pay to Win. You can give it a try for few weeks and see if you like it. You can enjoy it, if you find a way to make enough adena without pay. For me 1billion per week is enough to have some fun here and of course the friends keep me also.

truly free or free to play = pay to win... is a reality and every old update all more nerfed, every 2/4 weeks new "pay to win" item.
Hard to make adena if u start from 0...if i know how this servers works i never try to play here xD serious...just friends keep me here.

You would be well served to buy 5 bucks in nc coins so you can buy the fortune gear from the store as you level up. This will cover you in better gear (better than the regular stuff you're given) till s80. If you get a mentor then when you turn 85 you are given a diploma which you can then use to buy R grade gear. Not top end r grade and it's not resell-able so some people call it a waste. Supposedly from the pure math perspective buying shots is the best way to spend the diplomas while paying adena for resell-able gear.
If you're just wanting some PVE action and some side stuff it's still fun. Getting to 85 can be done in a couple days if you have the gear and use your stuff wisely. Get a mentor ASAP. Do the letter quests that you're notified with via the question mark. You get them every few sets of levels. When you turn in those quests you get an XP boost buff that will be very useful. Pay attention to the notification of what level the next letter arrives that way you can use the XP buffs to ensure that when you turn in the last of that quest chain you will be the proper level for the next letter. Late 50s or so you'll have to start to combo the XP buff and the free XP runes (in the daily mission scroll thing above equipment etc) to quickly get through the grind to the next letter. From that point on you'll want to be strategic about turning in the quest after using the XP buff up (always combo with rune). Don't worry about running out of runes because I've used them every time I got the XP buff and still had leftovers at 85.
At low levels as a non magic user bows can be very useful for killing quest monsters. Quite a few bots running around still so the extra reach can be very helpful.
Just and advice. Don't start your character until wednesday. When the game will be updated to helios patch. After that will be more easy to level your character and maybe (i doubt this a lot but let's hope) gm team will ban the 90% bots (orc shamans + ertheia summoners+etc etc) that are taking the 100% open fields and don't let new players level up characters.

To be able to play the game you don`t need to pay any monthly fees. If you will need to spend or not it`s completely up to you and your competitive nature.
After you reach 85lv game will move from open field to instance.
lot's of things will change in Helios update, there will be new & improved quests for xp as well on the open field xp areas so just wait till that's actually here and give it a go ;)

5) buy 200 fortune pockets lvl 3 that will cost u 400kk adena but will lvl u up to 78 lvl
6) spend and other 100 to a wynn to pwlvl u to 85 in altar
7) now u r 85 and have 1.1 bilion to buy real twilight gear and best twilight weapon.... and shots from mentee mark. al that in one day
8) realise that unless u spend $$ every month in every event... u wont be able to have gear...
9 ) realise that even if u spend $$ and time and u play many hours active
u wont be able to pvp cause people are imortal and use scripts to kill you...
10) have some serlf respect... realise your mistake... and delete game!!!!

You don't seem to understand the concept of playing a game. The whole play part. If you don't like the game so much then go away and let people have their fun.
he said he played the game before after god... so he knows what classes do more or less... what would he learn more playing a non awakened toon ?
No he didn't. He said he last played years ago when the game first came out. The game is substantially different now even at level 1.

Unfortunately they seem to have removed the adena rewards from quest and lowered the amount of adena mobs drop. I used to get about 85k finishing the beginner quests on TI but now I get a big goose egg and 10 escape scrolls. Looking at my higher level chars, I think they removed all the adena rewards up to lvl 70.
