On Wednesday, July 20, we'll be implementing some temporary chat restrictions during weekly maintenance to curb abuse by Adena sellers. Here are the changes being applied:
General Chat restricted to Lv. 76 and above.
Sending Whispers restricted to Lv. 76 and above.
Received whispers can be replied to at any level.
Characters on your Friend list are exempt from whisper level restrictions.
Shout / Trade Chat restricted to Lv. 85 and above.
Sending Mail restricted to Lv. 76 and above.
Characters on your Friend list are exempt from sending mail level restrictions.
until you need to restricted chat to lvl 85 and above. Hopefully its temporary, I hope you guys find a better way to deal with that rmt and not to restricted chat, actually there a real players that will be afected with this.
That kind of system would allow us to set our main to high level restrictions or even just clan/ally only while allowing everyone to message our shop toons.
Anything done on ncsoft side will not have much effect since they will just bot those toons more to the new level requirement / circumvent specific restrictions put in place.
They circumvent your chat filters, if they had been clientside configurable would have worked fine since botspammer wouldn't have known you filter their website and just kept spamming only 1 flavor of it.

nerf the drop table, nerf field exp, change quests so u have to compete with bots for mobs longer; now chat restritions. but u still cant bot report some1 in peace zone. or combat zone. very good job. nc allways find a way to ruin the game for real players

Also i support the idea of adding various methods of writing .ru and .com in a chat + adding these RMT services names into a censore list (and with latter constant updates of this list).
I like it, things were getting out of control with adena sellers and my 512 block list was already full. Just be prepared to counterattack, they always find a way to keep spamming

Stop restrict legitimate players! And do your job right! Banning illegal!! You discourage new players increasingly playing Lineage . I even created a new subclass for my main and gave time to level up . And now we will not have chat rooms for new players because you do not have the ability to paralyze / ban those who use cheat / script / ****. Use some of the money that has to make our beloved game, a healthy experience !!! Lineage is so amazing !!!

dude everytime they "do" something it only affects active players ; like nerf on field exp, nerf on drops, etc
u know why? bcs bots and rmt dont care about chat restrictions on nerf on exp/drop they just turn on the scripts and leave it there, if u make as ppl need to be higher lvl to talk u only an increase on bots lvling up to 85....
and now ACTIVE players need to lvl theyr alts to sell things... nc is like: "ok we will not ban rmt's so we will make active player life harder bcs we think rmt and bot give a dam about lvlin to 10 or 76.

¿This is "doing something" to you? Don't be so **** stupid. This only makes things even harder to the few newbies that are still coming to play the game.
Bots will be bots. All they have to do now is a little more botting, that's it. On the other hand, a new player can't ask anything to anyone unless he has a friend playing or after sending a friend request to some random dude who probably doesn't even speak the same language and is going to decline it anyway.
I know it's hard to do a real effort to erradicate bots and adena sellers, but this JUST WON'T WORK. You guys didn't thought this thru.

Make option for Only Friend can Whisper and mail to me, then its good.

there's one! it has a Legit disguise and is oddly concerned more about xp drops and etc than it is blocking 5 rmt spam in every town ...every 15 min

also better system player can report this and u guys can resolver this right away
for example,live gm 24 hour(3gms 3 shifts) who can answer players ingame report and
ban them right away
defiantly need a better report system. i was trying to do a quest on subclass and the place was full of BOTs so i reported one, when to report the second only to find you can only do one report every 30 minutes!!!

Allow them to jail people (up to lv. 84), and chat block.
Give them unlimited worldchats, maybe special color for name etc.
Make an login announcement such as "People with Grey name color are helpers bla bla bla, if you have any questions talk to them bla bla bla"
If any of those players would abuse this system (i.e jail and block legit people, abuse the worldchat limit) - remove them & punish them by i.e one week ban.

imo it's imposible that they would do that, Znipoo. I think the problem because of all the bots/script/spams is because the this ncwest crew looks like they havent played l2 at all. Maybe they had on the low chronicle but after the release of GoD they didnt, for sure. iF they would try to play this game they would understand all the problems about the servers and then MAYBE(probably still not) would fix thing or try to make things better . For now they just dont release what situacion is in the server. They only see forum posts, our whines. I dont rly think that the outcome would change if they try to fix some stuff make server more balanced. #feelsbadman

Thanks problem with that is that there are 2 party levels. 65-70 and 70-75 How you know what levels people are if you can't communicate?

Right, i didn't think about the levels. It's not the right way to stop the spammers, i know. But i don't know whats the problem with making it the right way to not bring frustration to the newbies.
To be honest, I already dont know what is the best way how we can fight against spamers. Some time before I gave an ideya how GMs can stop spammers. Just add access list with unlimited number of nicknames. And if u dont write some 1ns nick name in that list, he cant pm u, mail u, inv in pt, u dont see his words in different chat. To make it faster, add also clan acces list, when u can hear all clan members from that clan if he is not in ur block list. And so on, in 1-2 months u will add all normal ppl and clans. And all spamers can do in such situation, is just put a statue some where with signs or make pt room in pt search. But even here we can add function- see only ppl from acces list ( pt leaders). But it can be not according the rules or smth, duno.
Or more simple variant, just let ppl use world chat from lvl 85.

90lvl 5
94 lvl 10 and so on.
In this way, who wants will block totally white and wellow chats, reducing number of spams.
And will need just to add that in pm u can write from lvl 85 or smth.
May be u have better ideya. Dont know, because this fight of programmers wont stop in my opinion. New gameguard --> new bot --> new gameguard -->new bot and so on.
IS good stuff abit harsh but at least wont get any emails on the field outside of town. Would vote from 85lv awakened level so it would be nice to see big quantities of mules removed.

a simple solution would be for the GSU team or anyone from NCWest to have alts logged in at all major towns and check their pm/mails like 3x a day and just ban hammer away as those spammers sent those messages even to my lvl1 afk shop chars ;)
that approach takes less effort then setting a cup of coffee and drinking it, lol you could do it at the same time :D

Still this approach is not that bad due to curb RMT as its alot easier to track 76lv toons and not lv 1 with the e-mail option for mass adena transportation.

that process takes roughly 3 days which in the case of fighting rmt spam bots is way to slow so yes working fine to a degree.
by all means find something else besides these pesky rmt bots to complain about like pvp scrip users in coc/oly or general pvp.. oh wait no you won't find many of those as then the 3 day detecting does help ;)

Why not ban the farmer bots so the adena bots have nothing to advertise and sell? Those scripted bots do everything exactly the same on mass scale, they're easy to spot...

1 thing: let low level toons still send mail to any clan mates. (most rmt bots are not clanned). I've got my alt in my alt clan academy and would like to send stuff to my dorf, who is in the same clan, but cannot. Literally can only mail stuff to the 1 toon in friendslist.
it's unlikely that a rmt toon is going to be clanned, or clanned with real people, so there should be no restrictions on mailing/pming to people in same clan.
this will make it very challenging for new, low-level players coming in looking for academy or mentor to be able to communicate. if they don't have someone they can add to their friendlist, they will be lost from the get-go and could possibly give up trying to play the game. thanks for the effort in curbing the vendor bots, but really NCSoft? why does everything you do have to punish legitimate players in your effort to stop those who aren't legitimate? Please, figure something else out. these restrictions will only hurt real players. thanks.

12 blocks not including the white chat and shout spam per town is worse then it was before when you "only" needed 7 blocks usually!
To make matters worse you also get spammed with bot mentee invites when getting near them in same town and they spam party invites when your toon no matter what level gets near the hunting zone they use.
Also you said you can't auto repeat chat but people can auto repeat macro's with chat in it unlike you claimed so now some people do this 24x7 in town which is not a problem with me but they might get blocked by people if it does annoy them (for the ones who do over excessive amounts of spam).
You might want to look into that as well before innocent people get burned.

It's now 7 russian site spam per town, 4 of the other ones in pm & mail
Not even counting the white chat because they spam so much now it's like many months ago when they spam 10x per second.
Also saw a enormous bot train running in shuttgart not counted how many but was enough bots to make like a solid line between gatekeeper and w/e npc they use near one of the clan halls.
Same story at sos when they take the 3rd class, massive amounts going trough there as well.
Solved the problem with mentee invite spam when anywhere near, just made 3 lvl 1 noob toons and filled my slots so they cant spam that.
Disabled party requests in communications at the options but obviously if/when expecting party i would have to enable it so this is not a great solution.
Really hope ncsoft / gm's getting ready to kick *** and chew some bubble gum, because we are all out of gum!
So Now that everyone was complaining about bots/adena sellers spamming all the time people are spamming WTS all day long and like every 15 seconds. WTF people? You are worse than adena spammers IMO.
Also I thought I read in a post somewhere that chats couldn't be used in macros since they became automated. Guess thats wrong too.
NCSoft Do SOMETHING right for a change. All you do is make things worse for real players.
I try to recrut ppl and i cant bcs this re **** chat restriction....
like if we dont know ther eis scrips who auto XP char from 1-85 and even more.

i spam every day from all my chars LVL 11 CLAN RECRUTING
when people lvl up 85 irst thing they do is pm me...and complain for this.
U should take care at least for raids in lvl 88 zone, at least some kin dof restriction of items like, not use Tauti weapon.... or since people dont get any drop from open fields raids (88 to 103 are all farmed by RMT) just drop drop to nothing, and let ppl at least get XP.
