Im lf a mmo to keep me busy and while I like L2 and it even had a what looks like a nice update recently...
the rmt and bots just put a foul taste in my mouth.
I want to play on equal terms as others but when others have hundreds of billions of adena and bot on multiple accounts and I cant do quests before theres 200 bots in the area..
its just not fun, especially if they expect me to buy stuff from there store to be able to pvp on equal terms or close to.

A MMORPG isn't your type of game then. There's isn't a MMORPG in existence that puts you at the same level as someone that has been playing much longer.. That's the whole point of MMORPGs to grind up the ladder in gear aka rewards...

Lineage II isn't the place to start. Unless you are
1) prepared to spend lots of real money
or
2) buy botting program and join the botters
(all the info + hype the company NCsoft is taking against the botters are just b ulls hits
- botters are just ban for few days, then they come back all alive and well)
even after you've done 1) or 2) you'll might be able, just barely able to compete on the top level

No matter if you start L2 or any other game that exists since years: Everyone will be ahead of you. But you can still catch up.
If you invest extraordinary much time and/or $$, you will catch up faster.
Unless you plan to become TOP player with TOP gear in some months, there's no problem having fun in game. On Naia there are quite some mid-tier clans with clanwars again, so you can enjoy PVP too without the need to have dark gear or lvl. 104.
Just give L2 a try, it's worth it.
