This really needs to stop. You can't even complete quests because of this, it's not even funny anymore. Paying L2Tower developer for stoping making versions of L2Tower for the official server does not resolve the problem. You need to act, now, i mean, look at this! Are you serious? That area has always had bots. What I do is find out is anyone live is there. If not, I steal mobs from bots, let them do most of the work I think last hit get quest item.

That sure is a lot of players. Maybe they are using the in-game Macro system! Yay! NCWest would remove blatant bots from their servers right?

Regardless, it makes the server look like it's time to party like its 1999.

The hours pass and it just gets worse and worse... Cmon GM's, we can't play like this, and it just happens that this quest is the one that gives you the A grade equipment so if you dont finish it you cant get the equipment, please do something at least change the reward of the quest to another or put more monsters (Kranrot, paliotes, etc) in other zones!!

Its not only FP all the 1-85 lvling zones are full of bots and soon all the places will get full.. Gog is already a botland...

I was thinking that you could probably place your toon in the middle of the area and then set an auto-macro to the following.

1) /targetnext
2) *skill attack*
3) *skill attack*
4) *skill attack*

Step away from your computer and go chill for about 3-4 hours, go do chores, homework, wash/cruise in your sports car, and then come back and there is a chance that you might be done with that quest!

Dear GM after two day of the new update (Elios) bot back to game and in place where ppl do the new quest (Seal of shilen, Fairy) now its imposible to do quest cause alot of bot there. I think gm should to come to Seal of shilen and Fairy and ban every bot cause ppl cant do the new quest. So now, ppl need to w8 any gm do anything about those bot. WE CANT DO THE QUEST CAUSE THE BOT!

12 years ago, when I started, y'all embraced the bots as if they were long lost family. They ran rampant everywhere. It was quite clear the EULA and TOS meant nothing to you. The damage was done, the game relegated to obscurity and bargain bin status. The subs dwindled and then the game went free to play with a cash shop in effort to milk the last dregs y'all could. The game is on its death bed, life support beeping quietly in the background. The prognosis is grim.

Now, all of a sudden y'all are trying to combat the bots and scripts. After more than a DECADE of abuse, y'all begin to take action. Why now? What's more why take action that is also detrimental to legitimate players, those few left? Mostly I am referring to the xp nerfs in the field. Sure you boosted the xp from questing, but having OPTIONS is nice. OPTIONS are a big part of what makes an MMO enjoyable.

Hey what happen now. All server are full of bots and now they even have some bots in PK mode so nobody can exp on open areas?. Well i was on Naia server at pavel ruins and i can confirm that they are bots cause i went there with a low lv character with Blessing of protection buff and that pk bot stayed for more than 30 minutes trying to kill me... see that screenshoot.

After they used for years scripts, they got a warning and just 3 days ban. High lvl and gear what they gained the last years with scripts they could keep. Thats Juji politics :D

PK'ing bots does nothing to them since they are 100% automated, the PK'r however get a massive dose of karma.

You have about a minute before they rebuff and return to the area where they originally were.

True. I gave up killing them on my perma red, who's no longer red but still has several 100 PKs.

the answer is simple. ncsoft dont care about this.

There are other spots to go to, also you can get all the grades of gear you need until lvl 85 for 1ncoin per grade.. Yes it's a problem, yes it's not normal, but common, just find away to get what you want and stop qq about something that is a problem for years.

I'm not saying ignore the bot problem but the people that think this game will exist without them are delusional. The 10-20% of so called legits probably contribute to 5-10% of the ncoin purchased. Ban ALL the bots, merge all servers to 1, still won't be enough to justify keeping the game open. WoA full of farmers and top tier script pvp'ers don't bother me, don't xp there or don't war that clan, your not gonna win.

So if I run 3 accts, my roommate runs 3, wife runs 3, daughter runs her dad 3 to help out, and wife's girlfriend runs another 3 when they done screwing around, isn't that 15 accounts running from 1 IP address? Can't ban over IP alone, only 1 really cheating here is the wife.

Bug fixing and bot hunting are done by different teams that have nothing to do with each other:
Bugs are fixed by Gang Jeong-won (main bugs) and Nam Taek-rim (export-specific bugs) and their people. Lee Eun-jo and his team are working on bot hunting algorithms. And the task of Juji aka "The Team" is to maximize NCWest's revenue.

When Juji runs a comparison of server logs versus NCoin purchasing records and finds that true new players (as opposed to newly created bot accounts, academy alts of veterans etc.) usually play until their late 80s and then give up without ever having spent one dollar, deciding that disabling character creation will only minimally impact NCWest's bottom line, then this has absolutely nothing to do with Nam Taek-rim in Seoul trying to get the Fast Run buff of the class horses to transfer to servitors.

This has already been stopped, at least for the mean time.

I would say it's better now.

It is a Herculean Task to rid us of the Adena Farmer/Spamming RMT Bots and Cheaters.
The fight will never end. I am so impressed with NcWest for what they're trying to do (it isn't cheap, and I'm sure everyone is working overtime.)

Lineage 2 is Immortal, despite being Hung, Shot, Stabbed, and Looted it has survived while
70% of the MMORG's that came out at the same time have died.
It's kind of a testament to fan dedication and management.
L2 will die State side when there's Barely enough people on to make a full party of 7 people.
And Everyone else has moved on to the Newer and Bigger MMO's.

NCwest started their reputation of launching bot infested games in the west with Lineage 2. I want to clarify that I only played on the North American servers.

I have no screenshots from the games I played in that era (pre-2008 all I have from 2008 is a screenshot of a dude with a dragonslayer). RO/Eve/Lineage 2 all gone due to various reasons but mostly because I never thought I'd care to have them in the future. I tended to just full on delete installs of games when I quit them back then. I only have a couple screenshots from L2 in 08 the rest are newer.

Back in beta I met a fellow who was rather shady in general (he was online nearly 24/7 killing). He claimed he was running a bot in L2 and that NCsoft couldn't detect it. By that point I had basically already quit the game as it wasn't worth buying to continue playing post beta. The bots back then were really simplistic compared to what we're seeing today. Most people would consider them macros today. I came back near C2 and by the time I quit late c3 I had four accounts paid and manually boxed with two machines. Bots were far more complicated by that point and I remember seeing them committing suicide to guards (and so called legits running them faaaar away from people). I never knew his real name and I cannot remember his in game name. I just know that he played some of the same games as me and by play I mean used programs to play for him. We ended up in the same IRC channel for a game community at one point. It was in that IRC room that we discovered that we had prior run ins.

He seemed to get more enjoyment out of getting his bot to work efficiently than he did actually playing the game. I never really understood his mindset. I'm also pretty sure he tried to **** me at one point as my firewall picked up a lot of unusual traffic after we had a falling out over something stupid.
