So tumbs up for the click bait title, welcome to youtube :)
Yesterday I saw there were some recent ban waves i was excited and got some urge to return to the game. So i login try to create a new character - bummer i can't, but i will be able to after the maintnence. So i wait some 4 hours, create new character, find me few new friends and go about my lvling life. Yea there are some bots here and there, but nothing too major (i may have killed few, if they were your - you see my name in the clip pm me). UNTIL, i go to Forsaken Plains - Holy **** - i get the quest that needs me to kill 90 mobs i drop down the area and i froze look at this clip (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SemCXy11DbA). I think there should be some kind of vetting process before you create a character. This is madness, and they invite me in parties too.
that's sad, seems there's still some work to be done by NC in getting the rmt bots under control..

btw make your chars now as it's quite likely Juji will block char creation again once they realize things aren't working..
the only way is the subscription way dude, just stop lying to urself.
But disabling character creation won't fix anything, it will be just a temporary fix that will hurt the game more than the botters.

As for subscription being the only way, i can't agree mate there are ways to prevent players from cheating, but that would hurt the game too. Bots drive the economy in some way, because of the bots there are people shouting that they buy Ncoins for Adena. But even so, if the subscription is reasonable it will be way better, but the game will lose bit amount of its player base if that happens.
Maybe it should be pointed out here that in all Asian territories the game is pay-to-play from lvl 85 onwards, with people having the option to either pay a flat monthly fee or to purchase game-time points that are ticking down when they are in non-peace zones (the latter is what the majority of players does; unlike Hero Coins, the game-time points keep indefinitely).

A game provider being successful or not has nothing to do with the payment model but with where the money goes. NCKorea is cross-financing all sorts of things with the revenue from Lineage 2 (like for example paying the salary of Lee Seong-** (http://www.inven.co.kr/webzine/news/?news=160971&site=lineage2), the Lineage 2 advisor for Snail Games), while NCTaiwan devotes a lot of their revenue to paying a relatively large staff, which leads of course to a high service quality. Taiwan has 7 active servers with lots of hand-made events:

Korea has 9 dying servers with lots of promotions:

It's greed that sux, or to be more precise, greed is always self-defeating :)

dont need to be a genius to notice that bots almost vanish when toon creation was off.......

p2p and u can have a healthy enviroment, if ppl wanna bot to sell adena at least make them pay for it.
But just disabling character creation will not fix anything. Yea there will be no new bots, but that means no one will be able to create new characters. So there will be no new players, and the game will die even faster.

P2W is the way most of the games in this genre should be. There are ways as Yidao to let new players try the game before deciding if they will spend money or not. I think there should be some official talks in NC if they want to keep this game alive and fun.

I say that because that is one of the few games i've really loved and i know i can come back to it every now and then. But this bots are killing my pleasure.

That's the intention with the pay-to-play from lvl 85 onwards :)

This is an established system that has been in place all over Asia since several years; it shouldn't be too difficult to port it to NCWest. But keep in mind, in Asia you need an ID, be it a Resident Registration Number or a Western-style ID card to make an account.

I personally have no problem with Free2PlaySUX' suggestion of p2p from lvl 1 on; after all, that's how we all started out. At least levy a one-time account creation fee. But that's for the management to decide :)
