Wrong, I played from 2004-until 1 month after GoD release, so I haven't been saying this for the past 10 years, just the past 6 months after I returned to see what has happened to this game, which used to be amazing, and what is happening with ncsoft and what they are doing with the profits made from L2.

Yes they make the most money, that's not what I said. The game is not doing well, its about to have more server merges. When a game keeps merging its servers, that indicates the game is actually not doing well.

Even though NCKorea has slightly overtaken NCWest (of course after subtracting Lineage 1) in the 2nd fiscal quarter 2016 (NCWest's revenue dropped by 30% quarter-over-quarter), we are still the second-strongest territory as far as generated revenue is concerned.
But this is gross revenue. The margin aka profit is generated by cutting corners. NCsoft doesn't even invest into a forum anymore where people can post /facepalm pictures. This should tell everybody how much of a future the company sees for L2@NCWest. And Juji not having a Production Assistant/Associate Producer is downright irresponsible. What happens if Juji gets run over by some drunk driver while going out for lunch? Then there is nobody left who knows where the paper clips are kept.
Just face it, the game is over. Enjoy it while it lasts. It won't last :p

Lineage 1 was released in 1998. Still going strong.
I bet L2 will be around longer than I will want to play it. And I don't have plans to stop it yet ;)

NCSOFT investments atm are 0. There are no new players for the last 3 years at least. Everyone that are playing L2 atm are veterans that just stuck to this game. The Pay2Win system is just forcing the players to leave this game. In 10 days from now i will have a top +16 wep that will **** everyone , just because i spend 600,00$ . The same weapon will have it others 5-6 players on the server i play, the rest of the players will just be NPC so we can have fun. If thay flag or open war ofc. So gz, if NCSOFT ever understand that after those 600$ i will not spend a $ any more and ofc will start to ebay drops from boss.

You answered your own question. Yiado already explained they aren't investing in manpower, or money into this game. The anti-bot thing was developed to be used by all ncsoft titles, not just L2.

Seriously, nobody gets 2 months vacation total in a year, let alone in one stretch, here in the U.S.
I checked Laby's online status page for servers this morning and Zaken was down to abit less than 300... Other servers have lost in 3-4 months something like 400-500 players each as well...
You can do the maths... 3 months ago there was around 8k players - now around 6k...
thats a huge drop in just few months.
whats even more notable is that Zaken is nearly a dead server.

the article is interesting in that as well that its one of the first pieces of journalism I have seen to have proper research about "f2p Whales" "Social Whales" and "The Value of Cool"... these are presented in proper demographs.
Especially the "social whales" is what triggers my interest. It has been obvious for long that People who invest "social-capita" also are the "heart of groups motivation to play" - and results in that the "actual whales who spend tens of thousands of USD" keep playing the game and spending money..
in the article the result of "social whale" leaving a game results in 50% loss of income from that group of players^_^

You will see this happen every year. In EU Summer it's around July-August and in the beginning of September School/Universities start again. So it's normal that those Players who played for nearly 6-8 weeks in Summer are back semi-inactive Daily Mode again after it.

No, I actually want the game to shut down. It's been destroyed from what it was. Too many carebears only wanting instance xp, or people quitting because they can't cheat anymore. I just play to hang out with my CP, and watch all the drama in all shout and HV.
