Before the fishing event started, I was seriously thinking about selling all my Bloody gears, Epic boss jewels like Lindvior, Tauti, Trazken...etc., and trade them all for the fishing baits. I mean...who needs gears when you can level to 105 just by fishing, right?
However, it looks like the event is a mediocre one. The reward of playing the event is not so much in items but EXP itself, it looks like.

for LvL 99-100, every 100B = 2% and it's roughly 150 x event baits(with the event rod.)
so, you can make fresh LvL 99 0% to LvL 100 0% = 50 hrs, 7,500 baits.
for LvL 100-101, every 100B = 1%, so to make 101 = 100 hrs, 15,000 baits.
so for the price of 540K Ncoins, $6,750 USD, you can do LvL 101-105 in 125 days...provided you leave your computer on 24/7.

This is a great event for the rich people who got money to burn but not a lot of time to play. Finally, they can just pay Nstore and go do some other stuff in their life while being comforted by the knowledge that they are still leveling their character even when they are AFK!

I think the event is OK for the people leveling 99-101 but after 101, I think it's not so good. When considering the time + the cost of Exp runes, passes, Exp pots + scrolls, I'd like to recommend playing the event until LvL 101.
Oh...I don't think I will be playing this event though...most of my guys are already 100-101...so...
Plus, I like playing the actual game...L2 is not a fishing game.

I made a little selftest, on lvl 98 I got 6,3% XP from 131 baits used in 7 hours. (normal rod)
So 98 to 99 takes approx. 20 baits for 1% = 2.000 baits for complete level.
And it should require 111 hours for 1 level (4,6 days).

This only shows that l2 is dying, we have players using prohibited programs to optimize the game (bot) now in addition there's nothing solution for these people will still help them with xp .... I do not really know to expect more from this game .... this a while back was fun today only behind stress for players who do not invest some money lots of money in it, example of this are these events, every year it has been more degraded, we do not have a decent event for months and when we think we have, eg the event hungry horse, the drops are nerfed or impossible to be achieved by normal players .... rest in peace Freya.

From my sampling (over 324hours worth of fishing and recording the success rate), I can confirm that the success rate of catching a fish is close to 80% for any of the baits, be it the event ones (current ones from Peeves, Monkey ones, NPC ones - Normal, R99)
From level 99 -> 100, you need 5.168 successful catches which requires 6.202 Peeves baits
From level 100 -> 101, you need 12.894 successful catches which requires 15.473 Peeves baits
From level 101 -> 102, you need 31.137 successful catches which requires 37.365 Peeves baits

I like this event. Expensive adena-wise, yes, but a buy shop for the coupons helps. Plus, I finally got rid of most of my alts to focus on just leveling 2 characters only. Selling all of that extra gear resulted in 10B in adena that I'm using for the event. Some people are disappointed early because the rewards aren't that great, so they are bailing out and unloading coupons and coins for relatively cheap. But I'm here just for the XP. That we get some rewards in addition to the fast XP is awesome. So far one of my two characters has gone from 98-99.5 in a short time. The other went from 95-98. The longer the event goes, the more likely that people will start unloading even more coins and coupons for cheap. I should be 101-102 on those characters by the time the event ends. Does anything modify the xp/sp gained by fishing other than the Fancy Rod? Runes, Nevits, etc? It is already great XP for those like me coming back to the game after years of inactivity. But if I could stack fishing with a few xp runes, so much the better.

Just the event bait and Fancy Rod. You do get the 50% bonus with the normal bait as well from the rod.

Let's try not to push NC any further. If enough people keep at this, NC will start selling EXP stones directly for Ncoins...e.g. 1 Trillion Exp for 400 Ncoins...LOL Just buy the stones and click then BOOM! instant Level 105! LOL Is this what we want???
