Each PC which had installed Adrenaline is a part of a big botnet.
I told you million times to find a way for block this bot.
I even offer you feasible support with it. (at least I can speak the same language as developers, so probably I can find something interesting for you).

This happends when you Admins let the cheaters go so strong, you did nothing when you could. You think that after so many years of cheating and RMT ppl is gonna quit so easy? lol Cheaters are gonna be always cheater. If you try to block then, them they will fight agaist you. its all about money and they get the most.
so Many ppl dc'ed randomly all the time, that cant even finish daily instances and some others are able to kill epics bosses, so random.
I consider this "game" dead. The more this blanket of hidden filth gets closer to the surface, the more ppl are convinced to let go of this abomination that has nothing to do with the original pre GoD L2. It's days are indeed counted.
Soon the RMTers are gonna be left alone in deserted game, grinding the f out a bunch of at-that-point worthless pixels -- and, thats all what their pointless lives gonna be about. Oh, w8, this is already happening, isnt it? :)

NCSOFT/NCWEST is responsible for the DDoS attacks in the first place. This main set of attacks didn't start until some braindead idiot decided to post that specific countries were going to be blocked from access. So that being said, had NCSOFT/NCWEST just put the ban in place and shut their mouths about it we wouldn't be dealing with this constant server instability like we are. Maybe eventually it would have happened when people found out, but at least that would have given them some time to come up with a way to minimize the effect.

hmmm i bet your country is not in this "block list" well some players are new around and they can say its ok but some others play in this server more than 4-8-10 years .... so this is ANNOYING ... i play around only 2 years and i have so many friends etc in this server that i would not like to change no matter if server is "dead " or whatever... so ok support ncsoft cause they try the best but also support those players as well ... even thought as i get informed block countries is not in action now and ppl can normally log in but still as long as their countries will be on list they feel "Unsafe"... lets just hope that this will have happy ending as long as game is for fun and no drama or more problems...

But in the end, I have reconciliated with the fact that the "Goddess of Destruction", even though a flashy spectacle of shallow and easy gameplay, in the end achieved "her" goal -- to destroy Aden. :p

You're right, my country is not on the "block list" because I'm playing from the US which is where NCWEST is hosted from. So sorry about your luck for playing from one of those blocked countries but that's not my problem. And as far as how long I have been playing, I've been playing since C3 hunny, so try 12+ years....:D

I have too witnessed all that, but, now it feels like back in 2010/2011, when they gave free top S80 gear to keep players. Feels So moody and deserted... GoD saved it last time, I just hope this time Deux Ex is gonna intervene again, or else... :/

my country is not at the block list... but i have friends that live on those countries and they play long ... longer than me for sure maybe like you ... it's not your problem of course but try once to look out of their point of view :) i do not tell you to feel sad for them but at least understand them... btw till now there is no clue who is doing the ddos attack so lets not blame anyone :)

They have changed the forum software at least once which screwed with my join date the first time. Then something else happened while I was on hiatus which resulted in my current join date.

First, if there is such forced restriction... I am pretty sure it is linked to external regulations that can't be avoided. We must remember that they are still a company and therefore bound to the rules of the country where they are registered at so if the U.S. decides something as silly as that, they must enforce it (even against their will, and at least in the public news/notifications it should be stated). tip: Trump? **Ugh** Did anyone doubt that his election wasn't going to affect something else in the world, but why L2, WHY!? ;)
Second, not sure many IT companies can deal with all scenarios of security attacks. I am pretty sure that they had to deal with some sort of DDoS attack in the past (with the nature of the service/game) but we don't even know what is the magnitude of this one. It may be way off what they are used to/know of. The only thing I am pretty sure about is that they are working on it and will let us know when they have found a way to stop it.
Third, I really hope there can be a workaround for those people playing on that list since I am pretty sure it is unfair with many legal players. It is always the eternal debate of how to filter the bad people from the good people but banning countries is certainly not a good move (Not referring to NCsoft but as a regulation enforced in a country like U.S.A.)
Just be sure that as a game provider they just want to have us -the players- playing as soon as possible so be patient and let things progress. Chill :cool:
@Codef, I think that O-bummer is still president till Feb or something. Well, he visited Greece 2 days ago as a president. The secont group of bans was due to some contract with In-nova about sharing players or something. Back then, those players ware told that they could stay, but apparently.. ncsoft...

One possibility is to create a secure server with encrypted IP, which would be accessed through the validation in the loguin server, can use the game guard to create a p2p key per user that activates and validates the redirect to the game server, This would make it difficult to attack this server.

:'D Yeah.. and the attacker simply logs in 1 time "legit", checks the real IP with netstat and boom. There are ways to prevent DDoS, but all are expensive, need implemented before attack or needs help of local routing providers.

Thats easy, they cost money. They will not invest into this game, it is a here to milk the few rew remaining players, so they can fund other projects. They have no plans to keep this game running any longer than they have to, and that is why they dont.
I haven't had any d/c's today so it looks like they fixed it. Good job guys!

It’s Monday morning in China and Russia, things ended right on time last Friday at the end of the workday. I doubt NC fixed the attacks with a solution. I think they just stopped for the weekend and curious to see if they start back up today, if they haven’t already. I'm at work and didn't check things before I left this morning.
