Can you put up the jewel event page with the patch notes tomorrow, instead of having people wait till Wednesday morning like usual? I don't believe doing things just because that's usually how they are done, so if there isn't a good reason to put up the page tomorrow, I don't see how it can hurt.

don't forget to clarify / add that this particular exchange option doesn't work for the new Red & Blue Cat's Eye jewels unless you're certain and have tested that properly cause in Korea & Japan etc you couldn't

I agree with that. Whatever class with low hp without healing is doomed vs topaz. Lv 5 is about 2 x casts for feohs and yuls. Big advantage to tanks and tyrs and healers :) etc.
Oh, nice. Yet I didnt see a word about if you guys will "fix" tanzanite, specially now with this awesome feature of lv6 jewels (aka 15% instant HP heal on top of 30% reuse).

From what we've seen at Heine, it is reasonable to expect 1x jewel box + 500 powder for level 3 and 1x jewel + 5000 powder for level 4 coupled with a major reduction in level 2 and 3 compound success rate. Enjoy.

Korea has entirely different gameplay (too many Korea-specific things) + they enjoy the benefits of a game developed to fit a single timezone, while we suffer because such design fails (as expected, unsure if really intended) for any international server.
Japan, Taiwan both have different gameplay (perhaps to a lesser extent) and also can enjoy the benefits of a single timezone. These have loads of events that are completely different from NA/EU/RU ones.
China/10c I don't know about really.
RU are cheapskates but doing well as usual, EU is dead ever since it opened, because it opened way too late and without any real plan of how it will work out. Subsidies from RU are flowing just to keep EU afloat, all because they want to keep that exclusive service provider status in Europe. A reasonable investment, yet still doesn't change the fact that nobody has any illusions Core is dead (and was for a long time). Even the players themselves. Obviously, lack of unhealthy competition may be appealing to some, creating that alt-server vibe. Nevertheless, it's nothing like RU (in all senses), even though it is provided by the same company.
And most importantly of all, there isn't any l2 official server that is not clearly pay to win. End of story.
If someone who is logged into game can post the prices that would be great. I'm at work, and they haven't updated the home page yet with the jewel event information, and I'm curious if they left the prices too high.

everyone who wants can play on EU/Core which has zero restrictions, has premium account service which gives you real drop rates and fast xp etc. AND is 2.5x cheaper then NCWest..
the combined cost of services like WTFast / BattlePing + Premium + EU L2 store events is still 2x cheaper then staying here.. a simple fact which is why 3 major clans are moving away from NCWest to EU..
anyways long story short: nobody forces you to stay on NCWest and/or to buy l2store items.

been trying to explain that for Months now but yeah nobody takes it seriously enough and w/e as NCWest is most likely already planning for their latest server merger rounds aka Zaken + Chronos and Naia + Freya to cover up the amount of players they're loosing due to their mismanagement ;)

I don't play the game anymore,although I got fairly good equip, BUT the L2Store+Bots combo don't deserve my time.Nor those small-minded randoms that gain botted adena only by selling NCoins.And besides if I look back, I've achieved everything there is to achieve in this game, multiple times, so it's rather end game for me than game over, but that ain't so important :)

It's impossible to get anything positive out of this, unless they start to delete all the gear/adena ppl generated via the L2Store, which will kick in the butt a bit too many ppl.So yea, there is no way to change this in anything positive, just more trash :)

Will some buy it? Of course some will.
But when even fewer people can justify the outrageous expense, it's going to limit the number of items those top parties will have available.
Everyone else is just going to stop trying, move, or quit the game outright.
Another couple of events like this will clear out the last holdouts who managed to just barely struggle to stay relevant in this event.
I'm fairly sure these guys aren't dumb and a lot of analysis went into the pricing..I.E. they figure even though less people will buy high priced boxes that they will still make more money than a lot of people buying lower priced boxes (along with all the other people who say they will quit). It's all about money.

Before F2P we still had:
Third party programs and PvP scripts galore.
Trains farming spots 24/7.
RMT shouts and spammers.
Top items on absolute lockdown on every single server and more often than not exclusively obtained via the RMT market.
Completely unbalanced classes in update after update resulting in FotM overpowered PvP classes as well as PvE classes that went completely underappreciated if not outright ignored.
And that's not even counting the time before GoD hit when the servers were a complete ghost town with almost no players left.
I've played this game as long, if not longer, than you have, and hold no illusions about it being perfect then nor now.
F2P didn't kill the game, it revitalized it... at least for a very short period of time.
Unfortunately, ever since then NC's been doing their best to kill it again with one idiotic move after another.
NC is unlikely to be able to come back from where they have taken L2, but they could at least take steps to make it more enjoyable for all the people left, AND still make more money in the long run than they do now.
But they want to see high returns on every event immediately... not the same amount of money spread out over months.

game was perfect before free to play, u could pawn novas *ss just by playing a single subscription account. u could play free, everything was there for anyone to get and in the end if u really like to play u had the chance to glow even against ppl with bot or not. rmt was so expensive in that time, that just a few did, we report sellers and bot and support works on that time, these types were banned on regular basis. u could play whatever class u want and hit end game by urself just because every class could do it. if u want to get a prophet and level it to 85 alone, U COULD!!!! if u want a tank at 85, U COULD!!!! u just have to pay the subscription and play!!!!!!!
ncsoft ruined the game when they thought they knew what l2 official players wanted based on private crap l2 servers. and i they already confirmed that on these past years with the updates and classic l2 servers.

The ppl still buy botted adena, mainly by selling ncoins, being so low IQ to think that these adena were magically "farmed" by live players :)NOTHING has changed in that regard, it only gotten worse and worse each month.
I have a simple question for the one responsible of the L2 Store prices. Person or a team, does not matter.
Why you think that the high prices = higher profit?
And I have one simple suggestion for the next so called event - set up a prices for it, make some calculations based on previous events for the possible future income then reduce these prices like 50% or even 30% and put the prices at L2 Store 50 or 30% cheaper. Then after that event just check the total income from it - enjoy your bigger profit.
You do realize that NCwests complete lack of any attempt to control bots was one of, if not THE biggest issues people have had with them since bots started becoming a massive issue around... oh, c2 or so? (Varied a bit by server)
If they hadn't removed most of the posts talking about it from the forums here, you would be able to go back and read about it for years and years. But most of the "real" conversation about l2 died with the old forums. Orphus, blah, even the warcry forums. NCWest has always rather censure conversation here rather than handle the problems in game.
Their recent, somewhat effective, attempts to get rid of 3rd party programs after ignoring them for literally years does not mean there were no issues before they implemented them.
Remember the bot report button? Yeah, that was a measure before F2P.

There used to be people live streaming trains in the catacombs that would post threads here for people to see. With the server name, the location, and the name of the toons seen in the stream.

Greater Topaz Lethal strike decreases both CP/HP to 1.
Jewel Grinders are currently only rewarded from the Ultimate Jewel Box.

And the value of the ultimate pack is relative.
When it requires you to spend a combined $700USD+ to get the 6 slot brooch ($500+ to upgrade an existing), or ~$200USD to package some of the level 4 jewels to trade (that cost you who knows how much to create in the first place).
That is not a good value, at all.
Realistically?
1) The ultimate pack should be cheaper, have more gems, or a bit of both.
2) Grinders are useless. Just have Shadai grind them without the use of yet another useless item that's sole purpose is to drive sales of the ultimate pack.
3) Reduce the powder price of all items and add in some in game items to compensate to keep the "adena sinks" in place like adena/elcy powder/rgem/rcry.
That's not perfect, and there's certainly other ways it can go down, but that's how you make an event that doesn't get everyone ****** off and yet still make you money.

Jewel Grinders are created for the business models where you can exchange Adena, Giant's Energy and Energy of Destruction for getting unlimited supply of Level 1 Jewelry Boxes at Merchant of Mammon permanently. It's the only way to balance out the method of exchanging them into Jewel Powders for future use. Now, it's impossible. All Players creating Level 5 Jewels and stop sell them massively like they did in the past. No Jewel is bad anymore by making it Greater. There is no more garbage leftovers to sell to others ... 2) If there is the possibility of returning the Lab Tests as soon as possible, more because of the new items that came (New rings coming from the Helios update, and now the new greater jewels from brooch store).

Let me see if i got this right, a few weeks ago, after a few people pointed out that this event had a considerable bad feedback on the european servers, i remembered you (or maybe some other dev) saying that you would take that into account on setting the prices for this event here.

the problem is u killing the competition and ofc the fun of the game.. what is the point in making so expensive items only for few persons? .. 50 player per server with lv 6 jewels and 6 slot brooch killing every1 and the rest 400 will try kill em?

Those events don't give anything for free as the drop rate of the items you need is conveniently low forcing the players to buy them from l2store. thanks for fixing freight warehouse issue i had.
now only inventory problem remain, at 171+ items system takes my character as having 0 adena.
to topic, you can analyze prices very well, but you have to take into account adena flow during these events. heavy spenders have alot of adena and ncoins, nolifers have alot of adena and normal players playing for fun (and even time to time spending) got adena just for few brooch boxes. if they buy it for all adena they have and wont get even lv3 jewel, what will happen? of course they will quit.
there is disballance between groups and with every event you making it wider and wider. you can tell people how they should farm lets say 1 bilion from normal farm, for that bilion they can buy 2 amethyst boxes.

Its really easy, add a Server Script for check Mac Address and 1 Mac Address have more then 10 online toon, auto ban.
You can set different ip in virtual pcs, but cant manipulate mac address ;), that come from lan card :P

My only hope is that you toss an event, make a change, a little something... anything... 1 adena to the the players that disagree with me. These are actually "free to play" players that are not able to compete at the moment. It has been a very long time since any mob has dropped an actual "event item" for these customers. Without the low level players, who will the high level player (with all the pay to win gear) kill in the Olympiad?
Dear Players and Fellow L2 Fans: Talk to your clan leaders. Come up with a plan. If you are a clan leader, listen to your clan members. For example: Say this is it and you disagree 100% with the pay to win status of L2... perhaps you could make a clan rule such as "no ncoin" or maybe your clan could create a PK party, feed your toons vesper gear, and player kill all low lvl payers protesting ncoin with your mains as you rage emo end game? Other payers would enjoy hunting you as they revenge their toon's death... you created for no apparent reason. Just a few fun examples, I just came up with to make and create pvp. You could do better, I'm sure.
7 years ago on Hinemith there was a player killing everyone in Giants Valley. Everyone, and I mean everyone QQ. I had to wake up at 3am just to lvl my toon for only 1 hour before he would log and kill me. What I am trying to say is, L2 is a very difficult game. It's why I still play today! Probably why you still pay to play too. Just, please don't be the player that complains... without offering a solution. Keep in mind, maybe this game isn't for you. I heard cross word puzzles are fun!

Well honestly I don't know how much more disappointed I could be from NCSofts event.
First which might be my mistake too I was looking at the EU event so I was determined to buy myself some jewel boxes so I did , just to find out a little bit later that in the EU event for the same price they get twice as much boxes as we do.
Second the success rate for even lvl 3 jewels is ... just too low don't you think? 20 diamond boxes and not even lvl 3 jewel out of it ... eh

No, if they had any brains they would just double the amount of jewels in the packs, and it retroactively. Or they could give everyone who bought packs a free one...something should be done to stop the flood of people who are leaving because of this (at least partly because of this).

1st the cost right now for company still server up atm is very low
2st company make money and ****** up the game is not the same .... he can still make money with better prices 100% sure since alot of people not even play the event because not have money , what i mean buy that ? Really this event SUCKS ! jewels are more expensive at each new "La vie en rose" new ppl have to spend THOUSANDS to hope to get at least a lvl4 if they are lucky because the compound success rate SUCKS AS HELL.
I was crazy enough to buy ultimate pack , and opened boxes to get 0 (zero) RED/BLUE cat eye . I used many bilions to buy some red cat eyes from others players, i compounded 27 Red Cat eye to be able to try 1 time a lvl4 and It FAILED.
About jewel powders, what do you have into your head to imagine that processus with jewel grinder+jewels lvl1, are you sadics?? at those ****ing expensive price, why you don't put directly 1 powder into each chest?
With this event you make most of your customers unhappy, Top players/botters/rmters have lvl5 jewels since 2 years, new players have to spend more to get a lvl4 only.
You make this game not enjoyable at all, congratz to push ppl to leave you deserve it.

But what I am saying is that I acknowledge it's an issue that I feel that it should be addressed by rolling back some of these changes or adding alternative system in their place. I will talk with the development team and our resources here to see how we can feasibly do this without giving bots too easy of a way to abuse it.

Juji already said there is no safe program, you have bots relatively well in control.
Easiest fix would be to increase drops from instances, bots don't do AF/NM/CC Baylor/Ekimus/Tauti/Istina....
Last 5 or 6 Tauti/Epic Tauti we mostly got 1 (!) BEWR + 1 worthless Appearance Stone. For 7 / 14 / 30 ppl. Sad joke.
Best fix ofc would be to encourage XPing/Grinding outside by drops from normal mobs to bring back the old L2 feeling and PVP action.

Prices for returning old "events" should ALWAYS be lowered so ppl. who couldn't afford last time have a chance to catch up a little. Current prices SUCK.
While the same 'named' item was sold for less, the box is designed differently for each game territory and their respective business model. For example, our Ultimate box includes the Topaz while that one does not among other differences. Currently the price of the Ultimate box is similar to the last time we sold jewels in 2016, but the average value of the box is better this time along with having all possible jewel types available.
Understandably so, if you're unsatisfied or happy with the design of the sale, please provide your feedback on that. We can always use that information in the design of future promotions when negotiating the pricing plan.

Since Shadai will continue to exchange Jewel Powder and Jewel Grinder after event I assume you have plan to make La Vie En Rose's jewels permanent availble in l2store?
If you do not plan this please guide us how can we can earn/procure jewels boxes/powder/grinedr to exchange? Considering that NcSoft make "promotion" and availblity for those products 1 time, 3 weeks per year.

Second thought I realize...you (and i mean ncsoft west staff) are blocking server evolution on purpose, here why:
-La Vie En Rose's Jewels, Specials Shirts(marph, etc), Abundance Talismans are products who can make a huge diference in PVP but also in PVE.
-Those products are availble 1 mby 2 times per year.
-Lets say im a new player and i want to join NcSoft west servers...I look at prices and product availbility and ofc I pack my bags and go to Core...after all, we want to have fun and play with ppl not with box chars.
-No new players>>>server will be empty after a certain time....some, like Zaken, sooner then others.
-What next?Another server merge?
Im telling you, this new generation dont have the patience to wait 1 year to get a jewel while ppl like Tron,Truffle,OhFungee,Luczin,etc bully them in game and on forum ofc :).

Even though I am not a GM, but since I am Elmar, the person who posted that on Rochand, I can tell you that this is another variety of 6 slot brooch, an augmentable one, that was rolled out in Japan half a year after they had the event with our current 6 slot brooch. Korea jumped our variety and directly went to the augmentable brooch.
Now, the question is, do you wait until summer and get the better 6 slot brooch, or do you buy right now the measly 6 slot brooch? Keep in mind, your financially well endowed enemies won't wait, they will buy now and then in summer again, smashing you now and then again in summer. You need several brooches with various augments for various purposes (PvE, mass PvP, Olympiad PvP), so this will be even more expensive :D

Yes now there is more kind of jewels possible into chests but they have not the same rate to appear when you opening chest , aquamarine,pearl,vitality,cat eyes,garnet are the most useless jewels and they pop far more often than tanzanite amethyst topaz or those new red/blue cat eyes, it seems iam not the only one who got 0 of each into 75boxes.
This event is just more expensive with less chance to get the jewels you need and with a lower success rate.
The pay2win model is one thing but at least you paid for something, actually the model is pay2gamblewithlowsuccessrate.
It's nothing else than some official scamm and one more time only botters/rmters while be able to buy enough jewels to build lvl6 jewels while 90% of players have huge pain to make a single lvl4.
Good luck for new players or players who want to come back, the gap is too big now to hope something from this game.

Stop pvp mean also end of pve , instances , factions , epics raid boss are boring with the actual drop rate. Pvp items are needed to fight for dragons and open field raid bosses when you are on the opposite side of rmters. And this is the most intersteing pve in the game actually.
I miss the time when i made mob trains in ToI 10 for hours with alive healer and buffer.. now ppl are happy and proud to make kamaloka alone with boxes or make factions in total afk mode with new macros or fishing 24/7 to sell elcyum powders to npc to earn adenas..
It doesn't seem that our feedback is really taken in consideration since last brooch flash sale ppl are complaining about prices, and since january preview, that was announced the return of this promo, everyday ppl came here and asked to make this event more accessible.
But u don't need to be a math teacher too observe that the pricing is the same, if not higher, if u take in consideration that many players will try seal/evolve jewels or make 6 slot and for that is needed a lot of lvl 1 jewels besides the grinder.
I'm sort of stepping into things here with the current established systems already in place and looking at ways we can improve the value of the service overall. So i'm definitely very receptive of what everyone has to say and would say I do understand why people would disagree with prices.
I will say though, that prices are not just arbitrarily picked without reason and do take into consideration a number of elements including some negotiating and forth between us and the Development Team before agreeing on a price.
This of course brings up another issue that without a ready supply of Adena and rewards for free players, it can actually impact the sales as it can inhibit player from buying items from each other. I actually don't know anybody that owns let's say 5 of lv5 jewels. I'm not saying there aren't such, just I don't know em. And yea, getting one set of lv5 of uber hard, let alone 2 sets, just to upgrade.
Also I think that 2 sets of lv5 jews is better that 1 lv6. This way 2 ppl will be stacked very nice, instead of 1 that is stacked insanely.

That can be understandable in open field grind. But you can add better reward to instance and quest, wich are a lot harder to acomplish with bot use.
Also improve the rewards on all quest that involve open field hunting, like faction, that will help payers and free to play players. Bot will easily be spoted if they add thouse quest to their routines, will be hunting where real players and reported. The free players can earn some incomes to have a better character development (things that can be sold for good adena) and ppl who play will do more openfield hunting also will increase your income of vitality items, because they will buy more cakes or pots. This improvement must be apply to all lvl quests. Specially on thouse areas where you know it is a heavy bot and need to give time to check the report.
This will encourage players also to lvl up other characters to do these daily quest for farming also increasing your sales and will be more eyes on openfield hunting grounds wich will improve the bot fight. All you have to do is increase the quest rewards. Now are just CRAP.
Imagine add 1 jewel box reward for a quest, that will be awesome. Or a jewel powder. Or jewel box fragment, or abundance talisman fragment. Or just more materials or adena that pay the time you spend.
Honestly i understand your model. It seems like monopoly competence, you are trying to earn the most with the heavy buyers. Basically all ppl are buying what they can and a change in the prices or improve in chances will not do a thing, in fact heavy buyers will buy less because the items will loose its value. But you have to make the bulk of the players a bit more competitive and give them the chance that their time in game allows them improve their character. Now you see, on 99+ area a lot of chars with low gear, with normal 95 gears or even with TW. That makes no sence.
Otherwise thouse players will leave the game because PVE content will be to them frustrating. kind of gear.

I will talk with the development team and our resources here to see how we can feasibly do this without giving bots too easy of a way to abuse it.
Thanks for acknowledging this, it is a realistic problem which prevents progression and makes people feel they are not moving forward in character progression without using their wallet all the time.
I hope this input will be appreciated and makes it more clear why people that stop spending decided why they stop.
Compound
It fails almost all the time, too many times and this got addressed with venir which now is great as it is.
Now other types of compounds still need to reach similar level of feeling you actually have a good chance and keep the motivation to go further.
Level 3 brooch jewel shouldn't be too hard, reaching level 3 with 10 boxes should motivate people to keep trying further and not be stuck with just level 1 or if lucky level 2 jewels after that amount which just makes people give up.
Same can be said for SA crystals and anything else that uses the compound system with high frequency of failure while flow of items coming into the game is very low.
Not asking for top stages to be easy, that is fine if its hard but at least level 3 maybe 4 should be reachable easy to encourage more tries and to make a person feel they actually had a good chance to make it.
Drops from raid bosses & epic raid bosses
Don't think i need to say much about this we all know the score on it, even with drop runes at "double rate" event good drops are rare to be seen.
Makes it harder to motivate people to keep doing it when all you see is a meager drop not even helping anyone's character progression.
Drops in general
Full drops feel non existing, material drops barely enough to even get 1 craft attempt which in the end even fails once again makes it feel like no character progression had been made other then the bit of xp/faction acquired.
Consumables vs drops
This is the main thing what bots used to do, oversupply for example the Gemstone (R grade) with tons of cheap ones making it affordable for more people to actually do something with these.
Now we are stuck with expensive and drop wise nearly non existing so you can't even really put aside a hour or 2 to farm a bunch and feel you actually accomplished something.
This one is a double edged sword since too easy supply means it's going to be botted 24x7.
Maybe make limited items supply a little bit more with random chance, like how istina's box gives 1 Gemstone (R-grade) make it give random amount between 1 to 5 or so, in fact introduce boxes like these into all the instance raids like octavis, tauti etc, the reward can vary between different useful consumables.
I hope some of these ideas may actually prove useful.
Stop pvp mean also end of pve , instances , factions , epics raid boss are boring with the actual drop rate. Pvp items are needed to fight for dragons and open field raid bosses when you are on the opposite side of rmters. And this is the most interesting pve in the game actually.
Not really. Raid bosses just drop items and give you exp, pulling you ever deeper into the rat race. I myself have a lot of fun at the Hot Springs, an A-Grade hunting ground, what with all those buff-giving diseases vs. the stunning monsters. If you want a bit more of a challenge, you can also do the Dark Water Dragons on the Chromatic Highlands, or, if you are a mage, the Velociraptors on Primeval Isle. The main point is not to level up beyond lvl 83, or 84 at most.
Even though I am not a GM, but since I am Elmar, the person who posted that on Rochand, I can tell you that this is another variety of 6 slot brooch, an augmentable one, that was rolled out in Japan half a year after they had the event with our current 6 slot brooch. Korea jumped our variety and directly went to the augmentable brooch.
Now, the question is, do you wait until summer and get the better 6 slot brooch, or do you buy right now the measly 6 slot brooch? Keep in mind, your financially well endowed enemies won't wait, they will buy now and then in summer again, smashing you now and then again in summer. You need several brooches with various augments for various purposes (PvE, mass PvP, Olympiad PvP), so this will be even more expensive :D

Sorry if that wasn't clear, it's correct the rewards have been decreased over the years, this was done to combat bots from over farming Adena. I never agreed with this method. NCWest couldn't control the bot situation so you decided to punish all of your players with lowering the drop rate instead of figuring out a way to detect them with better software? And how did this method work out? Clearly when this was put into place all of the bots disappeared lol.
Since you have now in 2017 figured out how to combat them, can we please get our drop rate back? Or was this all a cover so you could introduce drop rate runes in the shop for real money?
Stop the p2w permanently, reverse the drop rates to normal, add a premium membership for monthly fee.

Not sure if others have noticed (I haven't read all all 10 pages), but some of the event products are listed with a 10 or 25% discount, so at least according to NC, the prices for these things should be even higher than what they are currently charging.

Before there were normal chests and shadai shiny or w.e they were called. Which you we're getting only very few of, by buying the whole pack. Now the ultimate chests give all jewz. How is that not a better value, let alone you get a free grinder with each box too!
Oh and now it makes sense why the sealing of brooch jewels was removed from libra 3 , that we had here : ))))
Also it does explain, why lv4 jewels were missing in the Freya promo we had.

No wonder the radiant brooch fragments are dropping like crazy in this event. Sounds like preparation for this event in the summer to me. I opened 225 boxes yesterday got 8 frags. Every one of my CP members that have opened that many boxes or more, have gotten at least 8 or 9. They are selling for like 500mil on zaken now, market is flooded with them. Which makes me wonder why people are still crying about radiant brooch being 200 usd in the store. What idiot would buy that brooch from the store? Just use adena to buy them in game.

I actually don't know anybody that owns let's say 5 of lv5 jewels. I'm not saying there aren't such, just I don't know em. And yea, getting one set of lv5 of uber hard, let alone 2 sets, just to upgrade.
Also I think that 2 sets of lv5 jews is better that 1 lv6. This way 2 ppl will be stacked very nice, instead of 1 that is stacked insanely.

m8 any strong CP had almost all jewels lvl5. If they woking as 1 unit they made 1 toon with full set of lvl6 just to have this buff. Thats all.

Irony aside, on Freya the promo seems to be very very successful. I actually managed to get 5 slot brooch for the total cost of 1.7b.Heine is literally exploding of sell/buy shops.
As far I can see this event is brilliant. People are barking that they wont buy anything but the market is filled with their own gems.
