I took a break from L2 for the entire month of January and just came back; and boy! It was a good thing that I took the break! I feel so much refreshed and L2 feels like fun again. For those of you who are tired of the game, I suggest you take 1-2 months break. You will regain your health and gain a brand new perspective of the game, as well as your life in general.
Why? Why? Why? did I spend so much I wonder now.
Most days of the week, I can barely play 1 hr a day, and I don't even PvP...
Considering my play hours and style, I think I over-spent, O O.
Anyways, here is my gentle advice for Newcomers & Returners.
1) Delete and Uninstall Lineage2 from your computer. Format the Hard Drive if you have to. There are many many other MMORPG games out there that are far better(L2 is an old vintage game made like 13 years ago) and FAR CHEAPER to play and enjoy. If you haven't started playing L2 seriously then it's better not to start.
2) Despite of #1 above, you still feel like playing L2 for some silly reason or you are already addicted to the game then here is my advice.
Just ask yourself next series of questions from time to time and think about your answers.
1. How many hours a day do I play? How many days a week?
It doesn't matter how much money you have. If you barely play 1 hr a day, then it doesn't make sense to spend a lot.
2. What will my life be in 5 years if I continue this play hours???
3. How much money am I willing to spend each month?
4. How serious am I about L2? Am I casual PvE player who likes to party sometimes and chat with people? or Am I Serious PvE or HardCore PvP?
Here is how much Adena is needed for each choice
a) Casual PvE: +12 specter, Kelbim, Tauti, +8 seraph, Longing, AQsoul, Enhanced Octavis Ring, Valakas or Tezza soul necklace, Zaken earring, istina earring, All +3 Jewels...etc. = all these for around 30B or $300 USD
Just don't play Evic or Othell. Since they are close-melee and wear light armors they need far more than above to be good. I found that all other classes are fine with the above gear set-up, and should be good enough for instances like Kama and AF if the proper level is reached.
b) Hardcore PvE: +12 Bloody weapon, +8 bloody set, Tauti Ring, Trazken ring, Blessed Valakas necklace, Lindvior, 7+ shirt...etc.
= around $5,000 - $10,000 USD +
If everyone in your party has this setup then you will do Kama in 5 minutes, AF in 10 minutes and baylor in 10 sec. If being the best PvE player is your thing and you have the money then go for it.
c) HardCore PvP: Only the sky is the limit, so knock yourself out.
