1. A lot of people are taking a Winter Break from L2.
2. Market instability of prices: There are people who just came back to Lineage2 and have some Adena but they are still used to the prices 1 or 2 years ago...so they are all waiting for the 1-2 years ago prices. Like...+8 R99 heavy was 18B and +8 R99 Robe 16B 2 years ago. Now they are all 20B+ but people are all waiting for the cheaper prices. Also, +8 set used to be the Endgame gear but not anymore. Most people with Adena, they don't want +8 set no more, they go straight for +10.
3. Most people with Adena, they are already LvL100+ and have everything they need already.
4. the possibility of Next Nstore Promo: This is what goes through in most people's mind "OK I can buy this now but what if??? in the next Nstore promo, the price drops to half? I'd better wait!"
5. Too much difference of Expectations between buyers and sellers:
Seller: Ok...1 Ncoin was 500k a year ago but now it's 1 mil or 1.2mil.
Things should cost 2 x times more for the Ncoiners! Even at 50% price increase, I am giving them 50% discount!
Buyer: Everybody has moved onto the Top Endgame gears like +10 sets, so I should be able to buy things cheaper than before. As time passes by, more and more gears are piling up, and there are people selling things at a bargain! (and indeed some people do sometimes, +8 bloody set 40B, +8 dark set 45B...etc.)
but there is adena in game.... the bigest problem its the prices.

Price 2-3y ago:+0 4-5 bil/+8 18 bil(i give credit to DreamSeeker)
Price now: +0 1.2 bil /+8 crazy ppl ask 6-8 bil per piece and that make round 30 bil for a +8 set>>>not going to hapent.
Tauti weapon:
Price 2-3y ago: rougly 8-10 bil max price
Price now: over 14 bil
Shadow weapon:
Price 2-3y ago: rougly 3-4 bil max price
Price now: over 8-12 bil
I can go on but I stop here. Not to mention Kelbim weapons...ppl lost bilions due to NcSoft last event intervention on the market.
Another problem is while prices went up up up the drop/rewards ingame we have is still the same or lower then 2-3 y ago....
Another problem is that they stoped botforadena but rmt's reroll quickly and now they run market....you cant buy/sell if you dont pay attention to them.
About this event,4-500 mil adena for a ruby box or 6-700 mil adena for a red cat simply not worth...figure your self :). Ppl just give up ....
The fact is...the only onest way you can make more then 15-20 bil adena in this game is buying ncoins and sell event items underprice. Who said anything else have not the best intentinons.
Too much gear from recent events, also, does not help the fact that with the jewl event that everyone is selling anything they have to get adena to buy jewls. The ultimate money sink!
I'm making billions upon billions from selling stuff that I've farmed 2 years ago. None of it came from the L2store. For example yesterday made 1.5b , it's not much, but I'll make another 1b today and do on, without even playing this game , 99℅ of the time nowadays I'm afk or offline.
And yes, I agree that NCW killed the market with those lolpromotions, but it seems our player base is lame and doesn't understand what playing a game means. Nufsaid.
My advice would be to start to actually play the game, instead of buying it.

Every year, we get a new wave of players trying L2. With the Grand Crusade update, we will have a new school of players. Hopefully, things will be better.
There is a number of ways to make Adena in L2. It's just that people who know don't want any other competition.
Last year, White Castle had Giran castle and mammon was selling Rgems for 1.2kk. I bought a lot and a couple of months later sold them all for 1.4kk each during Red Libra.
People are always enchanting stuff, especially trying to make +10 sets. Giant EAR is in shortage all the time...and only the Ertheia can learn Alchemy and make them from....??? LOL I'd better stop now!

Start playing the game, demand more drops, use the shop less and actually at some point you MAY be able to say that you've "beaten" L2 with your skills, which is quite a feat. (beaten = achieve everything there is to achieve as status in L2).

Simple answer.
Most of the player base can be divided into 2 groups - let's call them A and B.
Group A won't buy your items because they already have them (or even better).
Group B won't buy your items because they don't have enough adena. With income under 1b/Week (not even mentioning those under 1b/month) they need weeks/months for items priced few bilions and for items priced dozens of bilions they need years of income.
Group B has a problem, that prices are rising faster than their income.
This can solved by decreasing item prices (this would probably require massive discounts in L2 store(realy massive - like 90% - I know that won't ever happen)).
Or by increasing groub B income:
- returning events (not only L2Store promos with insane prices) giving free items to everyone
- returning of anniversaries (not like the parody last year)
- new ingame features and ways of earning adena achievable by everyone - either for all territories implemented in Korea or NCWEST exclusive

My point still stand, and for example...I start a new adventure on Core server, I manage to lvl up without using real $$$, without any friend to help me.
All went fine, I lvl up my toon to 85 in 2 lazy days. But I hit the wall soon after 85...you cant posible earn adena w/o $$$ in a reasonable time frame.
Its free to play 1-85...after 85 you have 2 option:
1.play like a mad man 24/7 and farm, and lvl up an army of ertheia-not an option for me.
2.use real money-not an option for me for Core .
Dont trust me? Try to make 1 dd toon w/o any help and lvl up to 95+ or 99+.
This will be a good test for everybody.

Not to mention that if you decide to spend some normal amount of 10 euro a month, you can get PA for 8 and but some other things from the store and you'll profit and progress at double peace.

Sadly, but this guy is just right in his statements. And for f**ck's sake, enough os these blasé players (hi, @mixa!) that dont play this game (aham!), dont buy ncoins (y, I got it, girl!) yet they have everything possible ingame and r successful in every aspect of the game, although you never see them other than looking at a random corner in city. Officially, we had it!!
Truth is: new players r doomed, mid players that r late and r getting to 100's now r doomed and even rich players that rely almost exclusively on ncoin transactions r doomed, at the end of history, because 90% of adena in circulation comes from bots (yeah, those lovely kamaels running back 'n forth in every hunting ground of chained quests, ya!!).
So please, stop this small talk of yours, guys, and at least be emphatic bcuz, in this state of affairs, players have not even the slightly resources to at least be decent (even the high ones, just look at random oly and you'll see plenty of gold shiny armored plus purple shiny weapons losing/almost losing to boxes or scrubb classes, showing total lack of knowledge/experience with the game and class. For me, that's the final nail on the coffin, tbh)

I was playing more seriously the first 3-4 months of Freya's creation, right after the merges.We got castles, I got hero for those months I played, w/e we've decided, what's your point exactly?.Dunno if you were there, nobody cares really, but thing is , NCWest defeated me with the brooch and all the other stuff that came l2store exclusive, I've decided that I wont pvp anymore and I dont, then I went completely inactive and rarely do anything ingame anymore.
If buying items from a store to be able to play the game is your thing, I get it, but that ain't mine.

You can progress. The problem is how people want to progress.
Take your first paragraph there. Taking castles is obviously not a solo thing. Taking hero, unless you are on a dead server, or a class with no real comp, then the chances are that it's not much of a solo effort either... and generally requires a great deal of gear, much of which is a great deal of adena/money on Nstore items (jewels, shirts, etc).
These are things that are exceedingly difficult for anyone without a lot of adena already, or the willingness to dump a great deal of cash, to accomplish.
But a lot of people still play this game and have dreams of being the next hero or PvP badass. They roll a class with that expectation, but they quickly realize they need a crazy amount of gear to even come close to competing.
People like that are going to never get past that frustration and eventually quit unless they shell out the money. And even then, some will still hit a barrier they can't get past (trying to get level 5/6 jewels, +8 or more shirts, whatever), and then still quit.
Anyone who has goals below something like the above can play this game, and advance, without paying a penny, or at least keeping it to reasonable levels of money spent on the hobby.
