Any Yuls out there able to solo K99? Trying to build mine to be capable of it but having some difficulty doing enough damage right now (despite having a +12 bloody thrower and armor set).
If you can do K99 on your archer, would you mind to share some info on your set up (skill tree, weapon SA, augments, etc), the time it takes to run, and anything special you may do?
You need to be fairly stacked to do it but I'm surprised with that high enchanted bloody bow and armor that you can't succeed. Maybe you are not high enough level or are missing other key items. It gets quite a bit easier at 103.
Do you have b. valakas, tauti, longing, 7s/anakim, abundance lvl 1-4? Iss with POM and on macro to spam debuffs? Lvl 3/4+ brooch jewels? Skills enchanted to at least +10?
You don't necessarily need all of these, but if you are missing most/all, that could explain it.
I have +10 dark bow, +8 armor set and am able to finish in 20-25 minutes at lvl 104
When I last attempted I was 102. Just hit 103 recently but I haven't attempted yet (donno if that will make a big difference)
I have most of the gear you mentioned Gumbo, except missing an Iss with POM (not sure how big of a difference that makes?). And just curious, are your skills enchanted Focus or Break? SA and augment on your dark bow guessing all P Skill Crit Dmg?
POM actually makes a huge difference, especially when on 101 skill, BR, and abundance. But you could probably still finish without it, it would just be slower.
For skill enchants, I did quickshot and pinpoint for break, and aoe skills either power or focus. Having bullseye enchanted for hex also helps with additional dmg.
My SA is fire and speed/fire. Augment is +70 attribute, but skill crit. dmg is best if you can get it.
Thanks Gumbo, just changed to Yul a week ago so all these tips are helpful. I have Pinpoint and Quick Shot both at +10 Focus right now; do you think changing to Break makes a big difference?
Word on the street is that break is best. There have been tests to show that break > power. I can't say for sure if break is better than focus. My understanding of focus is that the bonus to crit chance is small because it's applied to your base crit rate. E.g. if base crit rate is 15%, then the 10% boost from skill enchant is only 1.5% (15 * 10%). If you have high dex then I guess focus could be better. You can always experiment with different enchants because Discipline codexes are fairly cheap.
For aoe skills, I've been told the effect of "break" only applies to the target (at least this is the how the description is worded). I can't verify if this is true, but I do power or focus on aoe skills just in case.
That is more tricky.. it strongly depends on what you do in game most often...
u have 45k patak (let's say for our purpose)
Very basic theory without any top end game items says...
Basically total skill power is p attak + skill power... (45k+56k on pinpoint) and pinpoint on +20 in power encht route is 56*1.2 = 67.2 (45k+67.2k) so you get 101k attack power vs 112.2k = 11.1% dmg boost against same pdef
However for other skills then pinpoint where base skill power is lower than your patak the bonus is lower 45k patak +35k = 80 power and 45k patak + 35k*1.2 = 87k the bonus from power route is 8.75% while Break is ignore pdef 10% on +20. You do with same setup 10% more dmg against the not debuffed NPC target in town or a basic mob with +20 break then +20 power (works well in pve but not that easy in pvp i'll explain later)
if u take archer with normal items and npc and u hit "solo" so no other debuffs just ur bulleye u do 10% more dmg with +20 pinpoint shot on break then with power. why? cause ingore pdef applies to whole skill attack so patak+skill power to -10% pdef...
This works well if target is not debuffed much or does not wear end game items adding pdef (diamond, 7s, insanity etc) why?
Reducing PDef using debuffs in pve and pvp has it limits you can't go down more then ~50% in pvp and pve.. regardless how many buffs the npc or pc has. so having wynn mark for 30% lumi 30% iss with 40% and armor destruction 30% is pure ******** as it goes quite exponential and you never reach 50% using these debuffs. Only way to get on 50% pdef debuff is Iss with Chaos and feoh with devil curse (guess why they cancell each other). SO in pve you get more dmg adding 2 pdef debuffs, cw and feoh for element defense reduction than stacking many pdef debuffs. Why this is important? cause break ignores pdef.. If the target has plenty of pdef debuff you basically cancel benefit od "ignore pdef" stats and enchant routes. simple as that.. BUT go Break if you gank 1vs1 or coc or olly and you don't fight end game geared players... Why?
Cause they have items which add fixed pdef as i mentioned 7s, insanity, diamond etc. this pdef IS NOT an object of debuffs or "ignore pdef" stat. basically ppl have 11k pdef without any buffs and 16k on full buffs while full debuffed they hardly drop under 13k.. these items makes break enchant route a bit of disadvantage against power as on sieges or many vs many pvp u usually assist in party and target has some debuffs from iss so you can't get much dmg bonus from break stat so power seems to be a better options (max pdef debuffs is attacked with more power)
Focus is ******** ppl usually say... Not that much... depends what you like more.. My personal opinion is that focus can be worth if you really has very decent gear and the skill is +15 or more ideally +20. Definitely if you at this moment at +10 go power or break once you get to +20 on some major skills you can test it... You need Abu lvl 4 and perma pom to feel real benefit from focus route. If you do not have pom in CP and Abu don't go there.... and get dex to 81+ for important pvp use potions +10 DEX or at least nano potion +6 dex to get as close as it gets to 90 if u go focus route while keeping at least 125 STR
