Bring back p2p.

And make Lineage 2 great again!
(as it was before 2k12)
But seriously, we know u need some money to prosper, so that's why u foked up L2Store so much(yah?), but it focked up gameplay aswell. So here I comes with an idea - Bring back p2p model from ol days and decrease L2Store impact. There are no any disadvantages, only adventages.
-Less kids on servers (unless ur father is playing l2 too lol)
-More ballance between ppls
-Possibly less bots(?) (cuz it's a bit around donation coins, whatever this is called)
-More friendly to new players
-Market could be repaired (ofc it would be). L2store just dont give a **** about "farm" term and normal trade adena-item/item-adena
-We are happy
-U still have income from monthly subscription

Do I rly need to say how great l2 was before taking off p2p model?
Will never happen.

NC Soft is making I think much more money compared to old days cause today if you want to compete you need to spend hundreds and thousands of dollars.

Before F2P model this game was really competitive one, now is rich > all like in every single free to play sh it.

This, and players have no room to complain as the vast majority have enabled this to happen by overusing the L2Store.

If you want competitive PvP, go do Arena in WoW or WvW in GW2 (disclaimer: playing L2 won't equip you to be a factor there; this game's PvP is primitive by comparison, and you can't buy power there). Get a decent grind PvE fix in a free game like Path of Exile or something on the side.

The game is still pay to play. The cost just isn't in a subscription. The average player pays substantially more than they would have if they were paying just a subscription.

They will never go back to Pay to Play, because they're a business and it would substantially lower their revenues.
Pretty sure L2 is Pay to Play more today than it's ever been before!

People always quote this... I feel like people are remembering L2 with rose colored glasses. Don't get me wrong, I miss my glass cannon Bladedancer from waaaay back in the day... but there were a bajillion bots on pay to play. Hell a primary income source used to be training them with a Silver Ranger and getting gear drops then running from their insanely overpowered enforcers.

Also game and MMO mentality has shifted since this came out. A pay to play model is no longer really sustainable in today's market... it's all about microtranscactions. Hell, that's why alot of games are coming out "Free" with microtransactions because thats where the actual profit is.

Most of us remember the old days of L2 findly, but gaming isn't what it used to be. For better or worse, it's a massive market no, with completely different expectations and ways of doing things than back when this came out... and a different generation of gamers which has a fairly major effect too...

Couldnt resist.... +1 :P
What do you consider a micro-transaction to be? Many games have micro-transactions, but they do not allow you to, basically, equip a toon in complete end-game gear by flipping Store Items.

People have no issues with cash shops when they are cosmetic items, WH Space, Inventory Slots, new Classes and Races, Game Content Updates or Expansions, etc. (Development must be funded through some means). The problem arises when the cash shop can be used as the sole means to buy power in the game.

It should not be possible to flip in-game currency and equip a toon in full in-game gear in an evening. That completely destroys balance in the game, and it actually pushes away good players while attracting the horribles of the MMORPG community.

Subscription model is viable if your game isn't terrible. The social dynamics of this game were great back in the day when the player base was larger and not so lopsided. The game itself was always kind of terrible. People put up with it because they felt the trade-off was worth it. It's gotten to the point where it's not really worth it anymore. The only reason many people log in is because it's "Free." Otherwise, they'd be gone as well.

I know this certainly isn't the game I PvP in, and it obviously isn't the only game I play. I wouldn't pay a subscription for it NOW, because it isn't worth one any longer.

People pay what they feel something is worth. If your game (either the design/mechanical aspects, or the community) isn't worth a subscription, then people will refuse to pay it ;-)

I think some people have their own rose tinted glasses on. The L2Store isn't micro-transactions. It's basically an Official Adena Farmer and RMT outlet built into the game. NCSoft basically took over the farmers' market to keep the profits for themselves.

You can't complain about bots and farmers, and then contribute to the L2Store and expect to be taken seriously. They're the same thing. They just look different and one is "sanctioned" while the other isn't.

For the record, I am not arguing for' or against the L2 store, I do think L2 is one of the most "pay to gamble to win games" I've seen. I'm just pointing out as someone who has played for a fairly major period of time on and off since L2 came out... Bots have been an issue almost since launch. It's the nature of a very tough grind game and lack of ability to legit make adena in game in a reasonable time frame

I dont play L2 now because of the current state of the game, I play it because the nostalgia ends up bringing me back ;)
