Hi, I am looking for some info/tips on how, if possible, I can solo/duo some end game content. I have some questions listed below to help everyone know my mindset. Please feel free to expand upon them.
Requirements - CANT be Hero, CANT Be 105, CANT have +16 wep, CANT have lvl 5 and 6 jewls. (basically not spending $10,000+ on this)
1. Is there anyone that can Solo/ Duo the following on an othell;
- GC lower
- Superion
- AF
- K99
2. What should the STR/DEX/CON be for this to work best?
3. What is the amount of attack attribute used?
4. Dagger - 1H or 2H? R99 or other? What 3 SAs would work best? How OE should it be to get going (8?, 10?, 12?)
5. Armor - Is there any reason a +8 bloody set is not adequate?
6. Is there any mandatory TOP epics required? Id rather not have to obtain a B.val/B.anthy (using frint soul and reg anthy)
7. Minimum lvl to pull this off? (obviously if I were 104 or 105 this would not matter as I would be at or near top lvl)
Thanks in advance for responding. I really hope this can be done, I see Evis and Titans pull this off and would like to believe there is a way to stack a dagger to do this same trick. This would be a great way to use my toon to help lvl some friends and clannies on the way up.

Hey other Othells, thanks for the support. Go F yourselves. I'll answer my own post since I've done some testing.
For daggers that want to solo like an evis, you will need the following (listed in order of what I think is easiest to get);
1. POM - it says 25% increase, its way more than that. By far the biggest dmg boost you can get and technically free, all you need to do is find one or box one.
2. 101 - 102+ is preferable, but its possible at 101 with the gear. (also free, technically)
3. Wep SA's (lv 5+) - 1st one should be 10%+ skill crit dmg, second should be 7%+ p. crit dmg.
4. Rings - 2 of them at +15% crit dmg minimum each. Ring of rulers and tauti are better than AQ soul and Baium soul, but those should work as well if you have some of the harder things listed below to complement.
5. Augment #1 - Wep augment needs to be passive +15% crit dmg (skill or P., doesn't matter witch as they work the same for daggers)
6. Giants Cave Talisman lvl 10 - 3% crit dmg increase, just because it is free doesn't mean its easy, so this is at #6.
7. Abundance lvl 1 - We are after the crit dmg increase, so a lesser one will work, but lvl 4 works as well, so I listed a lvl.1 (actually really easy to make if you hit up the abundance box when they sell them at L2store)
8. +8 set - Does it need to be bloody? No, but every piece that is makes it much easier. The most important part of this (besides POM) is to always be taking a hit from another mob to keep CC up. So you need to be able to take the hits from mob A while you kill mob B,C,D ect.
9. Lindvior - I think this one is a luxury really, but hey 10% crit dmg is 10% crit dmg.
10. 500+ Attack attribute - Anything less is not full dmg to begin with before you stack modifiers. (longing+7s, Exalted circlet, opals, buffs, AP points, ect)
11. Red Cats Eye - This guy....F this guy too. A lvl 2 is +4% crit dmg while a lvl 4 is +14% increase. Get one as high as affordable when possible.
12. Wep #2 augment - Giants crit dmg active buff. This requires a giants life stone, or several. There are 10 skill options, you want one of them, the one that gives you +15% crit dmg buff. This doesn't have to be at #10, but with the cost of these stones and the random success factor, I have to put it down here. I could almost say the same about the Red cats eye, but we know that is all but guaranteed to fail ALOT.
If you have this gear, plus the basic gear for any respectable dagger you should be able to kill GC lower mobs in seconds at lvl 101. If I had to chose, id probably pursue the Lindvior and Wep #2 aug last. The Lind replaces a solid stun earing no matter how yo look at it, and stun is important. The 2nd wep aug just because it might be a pain in the *** to get. Just remember that is a 25% dmg boost you are missing though. The name of the game is CRIT DMG, just pretend your playing Diablo and keep stacking that stat.
Much thanks to the US service member who sat with me in vent to help teach me all that I have posted.

yes othell can solo gc lower/superion with these requirements
cpt. obvious out.
how do you get 500 Element plus before stacking modifiers....???
The other modifiers being buffs, SA's ect.
usefull post,
glad you answered all your questions by yourself :)) helped me out too, thank you
I didn't answer them myself. I just happen to run across someone who had the answers and the time to demonstrate and learn me. I am glad all the same that I was able to help!
forggot ruby 3 and +15 str dyes
Ruby is not needed, it doesn't affect the dagger in as positive a was as it does say an Archer. The red cats eye is what is needed the most. Keep in mind how odd the daggers are, Crit dmg > Element > Skill dmg > Patk. Here's my current list;
-Emerald 4
-Red Cats Eye 2
-Diamond 3
-Aquamarine 3
-Ruby 3 (Id rather swap this for an opal 3 or better, the element boost is insane since GC game out)
+15 str dyes is one way to skin a cat. The real idea is to be in the 70-80 range for dex and everything else for str (preferably 130+)

Please explain this dex theory of yours, I think it will be an interesting read...

patk+str hat is better than +50 atr hat in terms of damage on mobs.
Please explain this dex theory of yours, I think it will be an interesting read...
Its not a theory really. I just read every post and experiment old and new of DEX vs STR. If you do this you will realize there is no easy answer, but you will find a consensus of DEX providing diminishing returns after 80, and STR around 120.
Then I spoke with several Othells who were doing things exponentially better than me, such as PvP wins against very well geared and leveled toons, and soloing top end mobs with a quickness. They all, independently, had this setup; STR 5, STR 5, DEX 5, and they all mentioned that they thought that losing the last DEX tat for another STR tat might be better (+5 str +1 dex being preferred).
patk+str hat is better than +50 atr hat in terms of damage on mobs.
I think there is room to debate this. If your'e not at 500 attack attribute, I would keep stacking element. If your over, Id probably switch. I noticed a BIG dmg difference swapping mine (+3 str and not +5% patk), to my +50 element attack. So I cant really go apples to apples on this.

STR needs to break 140, and be as high as possible. it affects your skill mastery, patk, crit dmg. patk and str are directly related to your dagger blows, which is how a dagger xp's/pvp's. best dyes are STR+5 CHA+5, go STR+5 CHA+4 if you cant afford the 5/5.
all of these are extremely more important than atk speed, crit rate, speed, accuracy and evasion. evasion and accuracy are the only ones not capped at end game. evasion isnt an issue and if anything you want evasion lowered so you get hit to proc counter crit (equip shield/sigel).
for dagger vs dual dagger, single dagger is better. it has a crit dmg modifier of 2x vs the dual daggers having a crit dmg modifier of 1.5x
PvE rings = rulers ring of authority and Earth Wyrm (20% + 20% crit dmg).
PvP rings = rulers ring of authority and Tauti
you are correct in stacking crit dmg to the max, but you have to stack STR to do that.

there isnt much to debate on this, especially if you push str past the 140 mark. stabs are directly related to your patk, and a str + patk hat increase patk and crit dmg. the 50 element damage could maybe be talked about if used a 450 base element wep such as a kelbim dagger, but i would still argue that a str+patk hat nets harder hitting blows vs the 50 element hat

I think 5% skill damage is somehow comparable to 5% crit dmg.
Tested.
Of course both of these setups arent top for superion/gc.
Str affects skill crit rate for a while now broskie
"conclusion: the experiment has proved that the number of critical hits with the blood stab skill is highly influenced by the dex value. with the increase of dex from 50 to 80 the frequency of critical hits with the blood stab skill grew by 9% (25% against the initial value). unlike dex, the influence of the str value is very slight: while str was increased from 100 to 130, the frequency of critical hits with the blood stab skill only rose by 1.5%."
and....
"conclusion: the superior dagger mastery success rate remains practically the same when dex is changed. this point is proved by the skill description, which says that the skill's success rate depends on the str value."
but wait.....
"conclusion: the superior dagger mastery success rate is the same for single and dual daggers with maximum str. for in-between values, the superior dagger mastery success rate is higher when a single dagger is equipped. the superior dagger mastery success rate is 37% higher with 130 str than it is with 100 str"
Quotes taken from official tests on those servers which cannot be mentioned :). Google is your friend.

D@mn facts; am I right "broskie."
Can you link this post please? I would like to read it. Also, what can't we mention?
Test was performed in Dec 2012; so yes, it is a GoD test. I have seen no information either in patch notes, personal observation, or anecdotal evidence to suggest anything has changed. In fact, this is probably the source for all the "get DEX to 80 and everything else in STR" advice you always see.
I was wrong on my post, my bad. Since you said I was wrong I've been trying to find lab tests showing more info. I found juji's nice test for an archer and he said he'd do one for Othell but never did. I've also see the 4 game test and was left with more questions:
So my GH has 149 str, 75 dex, im 104. When I use any blow on an equal lvl character I constantly get a critical dmg. I never get a x2 dmg proc like I see when testing blows on a 99 dagger with 60ish dex on a 99 char. I pop a +10 dex pot and a dex hat to go to 88 dex, same thing, constantly repeating same dmg amount, never seeing a x2 dmg amount. This is after 100 or 200 blows to the back of an equal lvl character at 104. If my crit is 30k for example, it's always right around that 30k mark. It never goes to 15k or 60k. This is at 75 and 88 dex.
I have AP in the 10% skill crit chance, full epics, etc
Does this mean at 75 dex my skill crit chance is 100%? I can't believe that to be true...

After reading your post I logged on my 95 spoiler just to run a few test.
Using a non-SA'd C grade dagger w/o SS and only having basic Iss buffs I clearly saw "Skill Criticals" using the Blood Stab skill.
For clarification purposes it should be noted that ALL dagger skills are designated as "critical hits". So when you look at your logs every hit is going to say "critical hit." A skill critical will say "critical hit" but, it will also be double damage.
And, as I stated earlier, I saw double damage hits after only a few stabs. I performed exactly 50 stabs (yes, small sample size) and skill crit (double damage) 22 times.
I'm not sure what is going on with your toon. Perhaps with AP/SA's/Self Buffs your Skill Critical Rate (chance for double damage stabs) is maxed out. I simply don't know. I will say that those test were performed a long time ago when there were far fewer skill crit boosts.
EDIT: One more thing, even though I am probably right (dex increases skill crits) that doesn't mean you are entirely wrong either (STR vs DEX). It's worth remembering that for the first 2-3 years of GoD there was essentially no way to boost skill crit rate outside of stats. No Hunter SA, no PoM, no Abundance, no APs, nothing! At this point, maybe you can max skill crit rate w/o boosting Dex via tats.

Man
Ive tried it and i can tell you even with the uber gears you will need the right step to be able to survive in Gc-lower especially with those group of 5 mobs.
I can survive with +10 Blessed seraph la set, +12 bloody dagger, Lower boss jewel, Frintezza soul is mandatory, Dandy scroll if u have, This particular one will help you a lot,
First off,
There are 3 Fookers down there that kill you The first 2 are Carcass and Lucas, They have crossbows. 1 Skill hit and your hp gauge will lowered by more than half, Which means with 2 of them you are instance dead. You have to take out one of these first or try to lure 2XBathus away and kill them off before taking care of the rest.
Btw Bathus can kill you too they hit hard but hardly hit, So you can tackle 2 of them at the same time but alway remember Bathus is hard to kill, They r strong against stun and even the bluff sometime doesnt work plus high def by the time you killed it the other mob might already have respawned and kill u instead.
And there is the other one that use magic skill, I left it away, It has very low dmg and always hit with this you will get critdmg activate from this guy.
This main thing is when you just enter the Gc lower the mobs are likely alway packed together so you have to find a way to start getting them out one at a time then you can go all out, I mean dont kill the Magic mob, Just kill the new spawned mob as soon as it show up.....one by one and you should be ok. I didnt even have POM.
And the third one that can kill you is your opposite clan. Im in freya in this case it's Max so be prepare to bsoe a lot. LOL
Im no good with pvp atm since i was on break for nearly 3 years so i alway stay behind those more pvp orientated clannies.
i understand its pointless to go more after 140 str for every fighter class. for yuls best setup is 140 str 80 dex. but for daggers??... :)))
i think u need to choose a different dex/str setup for farm or pvp.

(basically not spending $10,000+ on this)
1. Is there anyone that can Solo/ Duo the following on an othell;
- GC lower
- Superion
- AF
- K99

Well, this is an old post. I can also easily do GC lower now. Although by easily I don't mean 2-3 shot like what you are doing.
Below is the list of requirements I came up with originally. Now I would have to add the cloaks to this list, +10 or above only as this is another broken scam for those who can and want to afford it. With an average of around $1000 to make one of these and get a decent augment on it, it alone would represent some 10% of the $10,000 I won't spend on this old game like you probably did. Additionally, we have to acknowledge that the dagger will double proc this almost always due to our high mastery proc rate. Putting the dagger in a double to quadruple dmg state (depending on if CC is up and actual cloak level and augs) for 40-50% of the time.
Requirements - CANT be Hero, CANT Be 105, CANT have +16 wep, CANT have lvl 5 and 6 jewls. (basically not spending $10,000+ on this)
Now, I didn't see your gear and lvl so I have to make some assumptions.
-I will assume you are 104 and not 105 as that would disqualify you.
-It looks like your wep is red, meaning you spent good money on it, if so that WOULD DQ you.
-It looks like you have a highly enchanted cloak (prolly where most of the dmg comes from) that would DQ you.
-It is also possible you are rocking one or more jewels at lvl 5 or better. This is more of an assumption b/c they are hard to see when not shown. However it is apparent the Ruby is lvl 4 or 5, and you have spent good money on your toon. It would be silly to think you bought a wep, and cloak, and +10 or better armor etc. but didn't splurge for the jewels.
This topic was created to evaluate and help understand the dagger class from an actual obtainable perspective, post GC. It is always pretty to watch a whale breach, but hardly enlightening. Everyone already knows you can solo anything after a certain point with just the wallet.
That being said, GRATS on your toon, it looks really fun and dealing huge DMG. Would you please care to share what it took to get there (in USD)? This is always good information to evaluate and keep in perspective for others who watch the video.
just to add missing stuffs where can improve my dmg per skill with 50%+ that mean i will not crit for 3mil mobs i will crit 4.5mil minimum . but that its w/o spend money
Lol, any class can solo Lower GC. Especially daggers, even archers can solo lower GC. All you need is gear and skill because they can easily 2-3 hit you unless your wearing heavy armor. Once you learn your class and the best way to build it (Dagger is easiest since it is the easiest to get damage multipliers then any other class (Far as skill damage of course)). Daggers with correct gear can easily 1 hit lower GC mobs with CC up...
mobs in superion can be one shot easy with dagger right setup, even with archer
Show me your video plz, Because the last time i saw Stinge13 who i considered to be the top Dagger whom have been soloing Superion for long time cannot 1 shotted them,
Show me your video plz, Because the last time i saw Stinge13 who i considered to be the top Dagger whom have been soloing Superion for long time cannot 1 shotted them,
that was before now im sure with pve cloak and right pve setup( pve dual daggers 3sa tyrr not sigel etc... have thin moments where not evry one use it) he will one shot them, example on video he was with pvp dagger if its pve dagger+15pve cloak with right auguments he will do insane dmg also i dont count cloak buff
archer 103 superion ...with dagger i kill more better but mobs are vulnerabil for dagger
Would you be willing to let us know how much it cost you to get to that point?
We know that whales can do super dmg, that was never what this was about. It doesn't help anyone if they can't get an idea of what you had to put into that to get to that point as most of the gear allowing for your dmg has to be bought with a good amount of USD.
I'm not singling you out, and its an honest request. Would everyone that posts about them killing these mobs with 3 shots or less please also include the price you paid for that ability?
lol with cake down ...cant break..
Relog to re-activate the cloak skill?

u mean by right set up is to have 6 lv6 jewel with personal Br?
Stinge13 alway use +16 pve dagger and pve armor as far as i know.
But you speak like u know so i thought u did it urself, But being an othell is not as easy as someone may think.
Would you be willing to let us know how much it cost you to get to that point?

I'm not singling you out, and its an honest request. Would everyone that posts about them killing these mobs with 3 shots or less please also include the price you paid for that ability?
this.
i can solo superion mobs with 0 dollars used. its slow.
u mean by right set up is to have 6 lv6 jewel with personal Br?
Stinge13 alway use +16 pve dagger and pve armor as far as i know.
But you speak like u know so i thought u did it urself, But being an othell is not as easy as someone may think.

A video of your 101 toon farming superion very fast is all it take to make me believe you. Dont just type up the texts just show us the video of you doing superion very fast and i will believe you, How does that sound eh?
Lol, any class can solo Lower GC. Especially daggers, even archers can solo lower GC. All you need is gear and skill because they can easily 2-3 hit you unless your wearing heavy armor. Once you learn your class and the best way to build it (Dagger is easiest since it is the easiest to get damage multipliers then any other class (Far as skill damage of course)). Daggers with correct gear can easily 1 hit lower GC mobs with CC up...
I dont believe this not unless you have prove to show me that "Dagger with correct gear can 1hit lower GC" Correct and Hi-end gear have different meaning so if you say any dagger with correct gear can 1hit lower GC.

... So no one whos says they are killing it in superion or GC lower is posting what they spent...
Some dude says he can solo superion at lvl 101 and hasn't spent any USD...ok sure, I wont believe you, b/c that's obviously not true.
On chronos, there are open field raids. These do drop good value in gear, they are also farmed almost exclusively by just a few people. I have no reason to believe things are different on they other servers.
Fact, dude said he is 101
Fact, the dudes that are controlling 90%+ of raids are 105
Fact, you cannot do that kind of dmg to a mob that much higher level than you with a crit based toon without having L2 store exclusive gear. It is a simple level gap formula that would take an exorbitant amount of gear to overcome.

This is what someone who hasn't spent much or anything on the game would say.
i can tell one thing by ur logic when some farm a lot and know how to farm and make adena u think he donate....if any kill more ppls than other ppl ,ppls tell he use zr or any other program but that its not true. answer its just some people are more smart than other. when lag gone i will do with my dagger 101 superion and i will try again gc lower to make 300mobs for 30mins

I saw your video and certainly your dps are through the roof! I cant even do half of your dmg, But it's good to see someone with high dps in the clan that i have joined tho.

Ok bro, sure. I'll believe you based on literally nothing. Jesus, Ala, and Santa clause are real too.
look smokas aka Klaudia farms a ton of open field raids for a few years so he is one of the very few ppl that is able to make massive amounts of adena legitly without using l2store or the like..
he ain't stacked like some ppl but it does mean he has way better gear then the average player yes, still zero l2store or rmt or progs were used to get to that point.. he achieved it by knowing the game, how to kill stuff fast while on low budget and having the time to camp raids 24/7
check his youtube channel and you will see he actually shares how he makes adena and give even tips
long story short anyone can farm the lowbie raids if they have titan + sos logged right at them and know their spawn time.. don't blame those who know the spawn time for NC's lack of not making the raid spawn location & time random
also Chuck post like yours are precisely the reason why I don't fraps anything I do ingame as:
1. I know 99% of the player base won't be able to do the same and it would be miss leading to encourage ppl to think stuff can be achieved easily in L2
2. I don't feel the need to brag, unlike some players I enjoy the game without having to show off/brag/trash talk etc
this is not criticism just trying to explain the differences of point of view ppl have on this subject

I concede.
If he has toons in level
and SOS
and Good gear to start with
and knows the spawn times
and can camp them all religiously 24/7
and still has time to play with the market
and still has more time to make alts like a 101 dagger
Perhaps this is feasible.
But when does he eat, or go out, or work, or sleep, or get laid?
Perhaps I am completely off here, I'll have to evaluate wtf I did wrong.
I do have a hard time wrapping my head around what gear allows him to overcome the level gap penalty of those mobs enough to 1-2 shot them. His crit rate and dmg would be nerfed a great deal at 101. With what I think is decent gear I needed 102 to overcome this in GC lower, and was and still am no where near that dmg at 103 on my dagger.

Since we are in othel improvements area i want to ask if difference dmg coming from a +8 daggers vs +12 daggers is so big to worth the cost of oe them since as far as i know p atk don't help othel too much and soulshot effect difference is not so big
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dzmsQWhhDZs link about 101 othell ghost hunter gc lower+superion. in gc lower i do for 1 pom like 50mobs on 2 groups i was lazy to move deep inside but still not bad 300 mobs for 30min~ i improved my dagger from last time was not right setup now its fine, in superion i used valiant just to can survive if 2 mobs hit me same time but seems its fine without valiant.my dmg skills are enchanted on +11, 3/4lvl brooch jewels, sa on daggers are 5/6lvl, full boss set,pve rune, pve set
can you tell me what is your setup on dagger? atm im GH 103 with skills oe to +11 +14 with +8 pve duals 1SA skill crit dmg, jewels 3-4 and i barely making 150-200k dmg with pom and paagrio buff
