Melee Physical Skill Enchant

I am starting to think about enchanting a couple of my physical attack skills. The three choices are:

1) Power - increase skill power 1%
2) Focus - increase skill critical rate 1%
3) Break - ignore targets p def by 1%

Assume at least 10 enchants.

1) +10% skill power does not = 10% more damage per use of the skill. I did not find the exact formula that calculates final damage based on skill power. But from all I have read it is a bit complicated with several factors.
2) +10% chance to do 2x as much damage seems to me to be a much more direct & significant increase in dps.
3) +10% bypass in targets armor is only good if most targets have med to high pdef. So imo, this would be a last option.

I am leaning strongly towards focus option. Any arguments for or against from those who have experimented with this?
Break does more damage than power.
If you wanna go focus go all way to skill crit change to make it noticible
And at +10 is not 10% for break.. its 6.4 if i recall well

First I have a question, when you are buffed is ur crit rate 500? If so then the 10% chance has zero effect on ur chance to crit, and like the guy above me said. Break is better than skillpower. So I think ur only choice is to go with break, in my opinion.

That critical rate from the status window is for normal attack. Not skill attack.
Skill critical rate is still a mystery. Maybe one dey they put in status window too.

Correct. Skill critical rate is influenced by str or effects that directly say they affect skill critical rate. My skill critical rate is supposed to be about 16%. The "base rate" used to calculate what your skill critical rate seems to be unpublished. It is assumed to be 15. The following chart seems to be the only source I can find. It is repeated on several websites: http://www.l2-country.eu/karol/forum5/forum/general-section/help-section/gidai-apra%C2%9Aymai-questai/3080-physical-skills-crit-rate-formula

I still lean toward skill critical increase. Lets just use triple sonic slash as an example. If TSS hits for say 4k on the mobs that you hunt regularly around your level - hitting for 8k 26% (16% + 10% skill enchant) of the time seems more consistent that the other two options.

Then again, I have no testing on mob p def in the 95+ hunting zones to compare with. I might have to do some searching later.
Why people think that STR affects Skill crit rate?
Why people think that STR affects Skill crit rate?

bcoz it does..
there are many tests of this pre, and post GOD.
My Yul passive Superior Light Armor Mastery says in its destription that DEX affects P. Skill Critical Rate.
yeah, but....

dex by itself don't affect skill critical rate.

is the superior light armor mastery (from daggers and archers) wich modify this rate in function of dex.
(and btw is much more noticeable than str)

also, some skills have their own modifiers, so can crit much more than others.
Skill crit rate also heavily depends on which skill youre using. For example, without pom and SA's, on my tyrr it seems that my mega strike crit rate is only around 5%, while skills like sonic star, the crit rate is much higher, maybe even 20-25%.

Also, when a skill is enchanted to +10% skill crit rate. i suspect it is calculated much differently than you guys are thinking. In the case of the mega strike, lets assume a 5% base crit rate. if i enchant it to increased skill rate, it doesnt increase the base crit rate, but rather gives you a 10% increase of the base. Meaning after adding the +10% chance, your effective crit rate goes from 5% to 5.5%

For daggers and archers the skill crit rates are 100% dependant on DEX. Dex is the only effective way to add to your base crit rate, so this means, the more dex you have, the more that the +skill crit rate enchant actually helps you.
