After playing L2 for >10 years as a Dwarf spoiler (the toon that is supose to make adena) and investing thousands of dollars into my character, I can't help but miss old L2... when bones dropped on the ground.
Without bones or bone powder to sell...today, I am left with four choices to progress:
1.) AFK macro (just did the math, going to take ++++months of afk gc macro to reach next lvl 102 and even with a macro that picks up adena... with 3 boxing, my advance is futile). P.s. the afk macro spots are very full and over crowded.
2.) Buy Ncoin? Never again! I don't trust what you sell anymore after the $300 fishing pole nerf and loss of $250+ usd on a now +0 pvp cloak. An item that now forever rests in my wh wasting space.
P.s. Clicking 100+ cloak enchants resulting a +0< never going above 6> cloak is serioulsy zero fun. How stupid am I to gamble like this? LOL never again paying real money, just to watch 22 digital failed enchants in a row. Poof.. Poof... poof... pooof... poof... pooff.... 0!
3.) Quit (can't too much invested) or
4.) Go to pve/role play heaven /sigh
GM: The market is static. Same players world shout, selling same item for months. We have to trade item for item or buy ncoin and convert to adena from buy shops set up by the elite/bots (I will never purchase your coins again so not option for me).
You almost force people to RMT or covert adena from ncoin, just to advance their characters.
Why? Unless someone gifts you... it would take years for a new player to save up the adena from quests/killing mobs/playing market to buy all items needed just to do a K99 in time. K99 is considered a lvl '1' daily. You really expect these same players to have fun and/or compete in COC or Oly v/s anyone that donates? LOL Com'on!
Not to mention, the "end game" items that take months and months to obtain... are the very same items you so conveniently update/change with flash sales every other month. PvP pipe dream.
I did invest a lot in the pvp rat race but it wasn't 100's of thousands (a house) so I still get one shot by the elite.
Totally unbalanced. I really thought at 101 with lvl 4 jewels and a pvp dagger I would at least stand up for 5 seconds on a siege field or coc battle. Nope. I get one shot still.

Seriously GM, do us a favor... don't update the game anymore. Don't even do weekly maintenance. Just let the game run into the grave you dug or upload c4 so I can pick up my bones and have fun again. At least back in C4 I was under the illusion of progress.
The game is perfect as it is, I've realized that few days ago. Try to play it in a different manner.
Also the gamble promos, like the cloak one or brooch are players fault, that supported them and bought in the millions. It's completely normal NC to capitalize on such customer base.

We will have to play this new scheme of changes that introduced to keep their capitalization stable, we as players will have to adapt to these changes or migrate to another MMO, so I'll stay until the next update to see what positive changes it brings.

This. I'd never want to go back to a time where you had to worry about dying and losing your items, or having to worry about not having enough money to buy a soe.
If you don't like the retail server then go play on a freeshard; there are plenty of people who do this.
A possible solution will only be player originated given NC decisions/actions are without customer forethought.
Reality - events are useless for the masses and left to those who want to spend 1000s in futility.
So...don't gripe...don't bother with NC as they really provide no answers.
Top tier is virtually unreachable....cool for those who want to spend 1000s and I certainly don't think badly of them for trying....after all => IT IS THEIR PEROGATIVE AND PPL SHOULD STOP QQing and **** TBH (ie. enjoy your own game) !
HOWEVER - TO REALLY ENJOY THE GAME (for most ppl), THINK ABOUT THE FOLLOWING:
1) Let Tier 1 Nova and MS fight each other - they will not change and neither will their idiotic 'registration process' for a *cough* game...accusation of spies etc...omf it`s too funny....
2) DON`T CAREBEAR AND GIVE UP ON PVP - IN THE RIGHT PLACE!
- XPing while red or with wars is, and always will be, EXCITING - BUT, they have to be the RIGHT WARS.....
THE MAJORITY SHOULD:
PLAY THE GAME AS IT WAS ORIGINATED BEFORE IDIOCY TOOK OVER, BY:
1) Enjoy the 2nd tier where +8s are awesome, and where minimal investment is ok....ie. +3 jewels, exh cloaks...etc...(IE. THE REASONABLE CUSTOMER WHO DOESN`T EXPECT EVERYTHING FOR FREE, BUT WHO REALIZES THERE IS A LIMIT FOR A GAME - yes this is subjective, but the majority do fall into the `reasonable`middle ground)
Note: I'm sure ppl remember the fun in Giran/Aden way back when when IC gear was 'Oh WOW'.....mages in DC gear...etc...
2) Establish a true 2nd tier where all clans WAR.....game clock turns back and is exciting...pve turns into exciting pve with inevitable pvp (ie. equal pvp vs current).....
If done properly and clans join together in this tier - enjoyment playing the game returns.....creating this type of environment is very possible and it only takes 4-5 tier 2 clans to start - then it should snowball.....

The ever declining server numbers and merging of servers over time point out the indisputable fact that you are incorrect.
