Hello, Lineage 2 community. Let me say that I started playing L2 back in release of C1. (I missed the beta). It was my favorite MMO right off the bat and I've tried just about every pay-to-play, and many many free to play MMO's. At any rate, I keep coming back to L2. I've tried Aion, I admit the graphics engine is improved in Aion, but I always come back to L2. Here I am, I had to make a new account, and I've leved my Ghost Sentinel on Chronos to 85 and finished the Awakening. I'm now at the Swamp of Horrors (i think that's what its called) and the grind has gotten tedious.
When it gets tedious this way, I usually quit playing. But I cant find enjoyment in any other games so I want to keep playing L2. I just wondered if I could get some serious advice on how to progress. I would like to get into a clan and I would like to get detailed information on everything I've missed.
If it helps, I only played to C2 and I've come back here and there, but I'm not very knowledgeable on the game. I spent only a few days grinding straight to 85 and I'm just wondering, do I just keep grinding to 100 or should I find a clan? What is your advice?
A clan can certainly help you with grouping, maybe you could do some seed of annihilation 85-89, but for the most part you're looking at hard grinding from here on out. The best thing you can do is be diligent about the dailies, kartia in particular, because those give the most exp for little effort.
I'm in a similar situation as you, I play the game off and on for years and always come back to it, but you do have to understand that the grind only goes upwards exponentially from 85.

If you have a hard time with grinding at that level, then clan or no clan you will quit soon enough once u start grinding 100+ that's where the real grind begins nowadays, it only gets worst and worst.
Yea when you can do literally 1k85 and go from 85-87 with no boost and you think it's slow grinding ur in for a treat come 101+ honestly. And if you don't have funds to add in to the game for ncoin boosts and gear you may aswell quit while ur ahead. And I'm not talking about 50$
Box an ISS/Buffer and AFK macro while you're away. Sure people can kill you, but its rare and you'll likely still get 20-80% a day while not investing into NCsoft's ponzi scheme.
That combined with a Clan's EXP bonuses, raids, and instance quests? Should get you to 100 without much rune or NCcoin usage. After 100 the real grind begins. Take it slow and steady. Most people are only 103 and the level cap gets increased to 110 sometime next big patch.
