Most of those characters are bots though, simple Summoners for gathering adena and Doomcryers being leveled up for the "Salvation" update, which are also picking up adena. Those bots serve the dual purpose of preventing new players from doing quests and getting a few million in rewards, thus driving them to money laundering via the L2Store, while at the same time providing the adena that players are exchanging for L2Store items. An absolutely brilliant business model :D

Economy is crippled. Upward mobility is nonexistent. Game balance is deliberately tilted to force players to rely on the NC store. Like freemium mobile game tilted.
These guys are right, the game may be beyond fixing. Top players are bored to death and quitting at an alarming rate, lower level players turned the game into a pve game, the amount of money needed to be worth anything is insane for a 13 year old pc game. Very little new content, ya log in and do the same 3-4 dailies ya been doing for years and find nothing to do afterwards. Even the events, (if ya can call em that) are just out dated and rewards practically removed from them. Playing with friends is the only reason to log in these days.
Well they can fix the game but do they want to ? They can create a siege in every day base with all ppl force to ware same gear and all be the same lvl.
Garanty they will have to open 3 or 4 new servers for the new customers. No more im boring nothing to do and all this, cuz we all know the soul of the game is the mass pvp well give the ppl what they want and let the money flow..:)
