If you are geared --> fish; if you are not geared --> gear... that's the summary.

Though if you fish, you will get some gear from the boxes anyway.

@1.5m per bait 50b=33,333k Baits (round)
20% fails = 26,667 (round) success = 26,667 Coin and same # boxes
26,667 Coin sold at 100k each = 2.667b adena
26,667 Boxes @10% chance = 2,667 Golden Boxes @10m then = 26,670b adena

You invested 50b and got back 29.337b + Xp this is 58.67% of the total investment.

If you open the gold boxes yourself then: a) you might get lucky and even get the whole 50b back or b) unlucky and get a whole bunch of crap. b) is the most likely scenario so unless you don't really need the money back best sell them.

This is why the Heine fishing event is not so poorly welcomed, it is a well balanced event in my oppinion.
Assuming you have +12 Bloody Weapon/ +10 Armor, and base boss jewels ----->Go Fish

If you arent holding atleast that stuff -----> Gear
Buy some item from the Item broker, don't let the chaters that sell ncoin have those 50b xD

If I had 50b to blow (not invest), then I would definitely go for ruby 6. If due to some unimaginable reason I succeeded, then rce 6.

Blowing adena on fishing only makes sense if you are geared, and you can't really blow adena on gear, unless it becomes untradable after you acquire it.
18.8b for 12.500 Baits to get from 102 to 103. (~4 days)
46.5b for 31.000 Baits to get from 103 to 104. (~9 days)
73.9b for 49.250 Baits to get from 104 to 105. (~14 days)

It's all about choices, depending on what you already got, gear-wise.

Let's say you already got most important gear and got 200b to spend. You need only 75b to get to 105. Ofcourse you spend on Baits. In the end you will get atleast 50% back worth of your investment from the Reward Boxes.

Last Fishing Event I made my Dual Class Healer 102-105 like this. I literally spended all my Adena at the time getting like ~70k Baits. In return I had nearly ~8k Reward Boxes. After opening I was not that lucky. Still I took back 60b+ from the total of 120b Adena spend. All I did was open all the Crafting Boxes and NPC all the materials and sell all the rest to shops. I was to lazy to craft sell 1on1.

Usually I spend $200 worth of Runes, Vitality Items, Cakes and Passes per month. 3,3% per day from 102-103 I remember in Duo just 2xK99, 1xK95 and some other dailies within ~1h of work. Now Fishing 12.5k Baits is 102-103 in 4 days? $185 worth of Baits to get the same result in 4 days lol. Yes for me the math was kinda easy.

Yes, I do understand Players dont spend NCoins, who don't look it from my personal math perspective. So based on Adena and investment return in the end? 40/50% loss, but you gain so much XP in little time it's well worth it I would say. Can you imagine in the end how much you would normally spend on Runes, Vitality, Cakes and Freya Scrolls with your Adena all these months? Some of my Friends took 6 months to get from 104-105. You might consider this to be the 50% calculated loss from the beginning. This is based on everything else you would spend on, if you did not Fish at all and just buy Maphr, Freya and Pa'agrio non-stop for months.

You will do the match in your own way. :)

Don't listen to this guy. No offense Infami! But if you have that gear, you obviously already are willing to spend the money to fish to at least 103. So do it.

This was the one event that was for sure worth every penny. Until the fraud with the fancy poles. That being said, I did the math in a much older post showing that if you value your time as worth more than $10/hr this is an easy choice. Doing the math will show you that it is only really decent until you hit lvl 103, at witch point it becomes far less efficient.

Now for the gear part, you need to understand what things create gaps between players. I will list what I think is the proper order of what gives the biggest boost to separate you form other players.

1. Dragon wep (absolutely broken power with up to 999 element that cannot be defended against.)

2. +10 or better armor set (bloody or dark armor depending on what you are doing.)

3. Level gap penalty, you feel this and feel it hard if you are more than 2 levels below your target, PvE or PvP.

4. L2 store exclusive gear. Adding these all up will put this category as #2 overall, but that is a very expensive task. Individually these do not impact as much as the above things do.

5. Boss jewels, talismans, accessory's ect.

6. Other misc gear an what not.

You see how the most cost effective is your level. As even a +12 dark wep is not a game changer against an opponent, but if you are 3 levels higher than him, it is.

Im not sure if I made a point here or not. You can always level for free is the flip side. Best advise I can give you is DO NOT SPEND MONEY ON NCOIN.

...$200/month...gross, ima go vomit now. GJ using your wallet bennie, your $kill must be $trong.

I don't understand why Players think the 999 Attribute from Dragon Claw Weapons in PvP will make a huge difference? There is a Hard CAP. The exact number may be slightly different from my example. When the Attacker has 300 more Attack Attribute difference from the Defenders Defense Attribute you will do a fixed bonus damage of 70%. It does not matter if you get 700 999 or 1400 more Attribute difference. It will always be fixed 70% bonus damage.

Based on this model the HARD Cap would be 800 Attack Attribute to kill Superion Mobs, since they got 500 Defense Attribute (+300 = 800 for 70% CAP). Anything more it's rendered uselesss. So instead of Opal 6 and AP +90 Attack Attribute you can better invest in other Items/Skills, if you are the owner of such weapons.

The Dragon Claw base weapon damage (P Atk and M Atk) is making a huge difference even for the Heal Power of Healers.

I remember a Russian telling me every 5 Attack Attribute you got more then the Defenders Defense Attribute you will do 1% more damage until a total of 70%.

Because, while a mob might cap out at 500 defense, meaning 800 is sufficient for a gigantic dmg boost of some 70%, a player can stack this resist higher. However no one is stacking sufficient resist against a 999 attribute. At this value you can stack up to 700 defense and still receive 70% dmg. This is all OFC before we even mention the cartoonish dmg they have.

We can simulate the dmg increase with +16 or better weapons, however you cannot overcome that much element. Also yes, this allows you to focus all your gear and AP into more beneficial category's, furthering your dmg gap against your opponent.

All this is still ignoring the other ridiculous stats these items give.
Buffless, no ap into attack attribute, no opal.. I have 1113 element attack with a stage 2.. Not having to run opal, well I would if I had a 6 for defensive purposes but instead I can use red cat and put the AP points into other damage.. Anyways with paagrio might/ditty I have 1223 which is plenty for 99.999% of people unless they are running full earth resist...
Theres a hard cap on element.
Due to the reward system Ncwest has made, unless you are very well geared it is most beneficial to use billions of adena for gear. +10 set, ++ wep, jewelry, gems, etc.

Reason being, through playtime alone you can accomplish leveling up. It won't be as quick as fishing for sure, but you can play and dailies and instance to level up. No amount of playing will get you adena to buy the things you need (for 95% of players).
