He's just covering on news posts to be honest, so i'll be doing most of the heavy lifting as it's significantly easier to do it that way for such a brief period of time.

Would be easier if NCwest would just share quarterly plans that are based on the upcoming events (even the potential one), plus make a forum thread about all known issues, allowing players to vote as to how highly they prioritized a fix for each particular problem. For example: fishing changes -> small priority for players. Damage discrepancy among classes -> high priority. ERGO: Prioritize numerous tests to balance PVP aspect of the game before doing anything on the fishing front.
Since i am one of the very few people who have access and ability to play both on Korean and NA server I can at least have an inkling of an idea as to what is an appropriate dmg and what is not. Right now classes such as Tyrrs, Wynns, Eviserators, Sayha Seer are pretty much irrelevant when it comes to NA PvP even with the best gear setup their dmg pales in comparison to Yul Archers, Feohs, Othells.
In Korea Tyrrs, Sahya with mediocre setup deal far more dmg (in PVP) than what NA counterpart do (Given the same gear). Despite the fact that Korean players are far better geared due to new shirts, potions, ability to purchase La Vie En Jewels Lv.4 from the store etc. and in terms have higher survivability against a mediocre type of gear.
P.S. I know how much restrictions Korean developers impose on NCwest, but I would assume that you would have some say as to what might and might not be appropriate to NA auditorium, i think most players would agree that the game would have been far more interesting and balanced if few things would be different in NA (e.g. Tanzanite/Topaz Cooldown)

"We are sorry for the state of the servers, we will be discussing a compensation package which will include yadda yadda yadda"

Lots of people are spending money to play your game, which at the moment, and for the last few days has been unplayable.

i don't think they do :P Even on Aion when i logged 3 days ago to do some pvp since L2 was lagging, it was also super laggy and i got dc'ed 2 times in 5 mins.

We have.. This is NC Soft, not some kiddo opening a private server in mom's basement, i've seen private server owners getting massively DDOS'ed and fixing the issue in a matter of a day or two, a huge company like NC Soft has made zero progress in what.. A week now? Give me a break lol.

Concisely put, this is a massive, organized attack against NcSoft at large, not just L2. I'm sure they've been demanded ransom by this point, and probably can't get an answer from Korea on paying it.
Is there fixes? Sure, but they require knowledge, and/or an IT team (or outside IT Company) to implement. I think NcSoft's staff working directly on L2 has dropped to around 5-10 people, nothing will happen until the attacker gives up bottom line.

You certainly won't find me pointing a finger at a specific NCsoft competitor without a shred of evidence, but your assumption about corporate warfare might not be far from the truth :)

Reason 1: Someone got burnt to a crisp by bad business practices. This to me is the obvious reason with the highest % chance to cause a DDOS attack to happen. It comes as no surprise that NC soft runs the worst P2W racket to have ever been in a MMORPGf, on top of a continual culture to mismanage simple tasks to the detriment of the player base. If you successfully get several people to pay the amounts that some of these people have paid, you open yourself to making people with a lot of disposable income upset with you if you don't treat them right.
Reason 2:NC soft is a relatively small organization comparatively speaking and as such represents an easier target for DDOS ransom pirates, assuming that's a real thing.
Reason 3: It is a current of former disgruntled employee. As the attacks seem to be aimed at NC soft on a broader scale than L2, this would suggest a MO of having more of the entity of NC soft over all as the target.
Reason 4: (AkA the most probable reason overall) Would it be a surprise if the people who brought you the changes we get, and excuses for said changes, and complete inability of the company to function from one site to another with any sort of efficiency or apparent communication what so ever, would be incapable of the fundamental task of making sure the connection is working correctly?
I'm willing to bet the genius' that brought us the cloaks and the fake reason for trashing the fishing experience and everything else that was an obviously terrible idea just cant do very much correctly. Why bother doing a DDOS on them when they will self inflict it a few times a year anyways?

I'm 31, haven't lived with my parents in about 12 years now, have been playing official servers since the game came out and i've never been the owner of a private server so i'm not sure where you're going with your last comment, but again, good job making yourself look like a ******* doofus.
