Project TL (Lineage 3)

General Discussion Started Last reply 18 posts
So as you all heard, Lineage 3 is under development in Korea. Let's start a thread to contribute what you guys want to see in future Lineages.

I will start :

Must have features :
1. PvP/PK at will at any places
2. Risk/Reward systems in PvP (Drop gears upon death at low chance)
3. Risk/Reward systems in Enchanting (Item blows up when failed)
4. Hardcore mode (You only get 1 life and if you die, you lose it all)
5. Automation of questing/exping

Your ideas?
Let me be the first to slander you.
1) ... We already have that.
2) Lol, just lol. This option was removed for a good reason. Too easily exploited.
3) That's how enchanting works (usually)
4) God ****. At this point you joking for sure.
5) it would be easier to stop banning bots, cuz that's what you want.
I will never play another NCSoft (NcWest) game again... ever. The only reason I continue to play this one is because of the amount of time I already have invested (13 years).

L2 is a great game hosted by a terrible company, it's really too bad.

This. All said. Answer to all the ridiculous "what-can-we-do-to-improve-your-gaming-experience"-surveys by NC.

and add , new playes never have the sensation of progression of the game, the old players are accommodated with the idea of being able to participate in events or get items or adena through micro transactions (visa / mastercard cheat).

Think of the current l2 as a mall on the highway, you park your car, fuel, buy some little thing then go away, but at least the money the company took from you.

Probably the idea of starting a new l2 with this same perspective of the current one, will catch only players who do not play l2 and uninformed. And ppl have millions of options nowdays of mmo to play, so it can be a shot in the foot for NC.

I'm afraid they'll still be able to turn l2 into a buy-to-play, pay-to-play and pay-to-win game, so they would close the more troll package in mmorpg history.
They will never make real open PVP with consequences or non-P2W micro-transactions mechanics ever again. I'd love to be wrong, but years of disappointment have jaded me.
If the gameplay and pvp/sieges and exploration are anything close to the trailer. I may put up with the fact that it's made by NCsoft. MAYBE

That said I don't believe the trailer is indicative of actual quality, and will likely never be.

The problem is that there are not many people left today that are willing to pay a monthly fee to play a game in a fair environment anymore. Most of them prefer the illusion of "free to play".
Honestly, as far as gameplay goes I'd only ask that they rebuilt L2 from the ground up. But above all, I wish they'd make it with the original L2 classes. I can certainly understand as far as buffers and healers go, but on the rest of the scope, I don't understand merging them into archetypes. Every class felt unique and it's purpose was recognized. But this will most likely never happen. Also, that they'd stay away from the burst autism that is every game today. The fact that fights were drawn out in L2 was what made balancing possible and what made every class shine in its own role. Burst classes bursted, but that was their purpose, and even that required skill instead of relying on CCing someone and deleting them like every game does today.

The only other point is that I wouldn't have to offer my soul to the devil to get to a useful level.
That's a misunderstanding. Project TL has nothing to do with Lineage 2 but a lot with Lineage 1. There will only be the first five L1 classes which are also locked to a specific race:

As to the combat style of the Knight and the Sorceress, you can see a bit from 1:08 on in this video:

Project TL is mainly centered around mass destruction.
As far as Lineage 1 goes, it was about characters instead of race-class.

It didn't have the traditional race/class system. It had 4 characters at start, if i'm not mistaken:

- Knight
- Mage
- Elf
- Prince/Princess

Later, the following characters were added to the game over the years:

- Dark Elf
- Illusionist
- Dragon Knight
- Warrior

Each character has 2-3 different builds.

this is something i never search about it.

what happend to the dwarfs, kamaels, ertheias and orcs on this 200 years till L1???
Dwarves and Orcs are still around, but not as playable races. The Seven Tribes (Urutu, Neruga, Atuba etc.) have vanished from the Immortal Plateau and have been replaced by degenerated, killable Fonos Orcs/포노스 오크. "Orc Village"/오크 부락 is now the name for the whole Immortal Plateau, the Orc Village we know from Lineage 2 is now called "Orc Fortress"/오크 요새. You can see it at the upper edge of the first map here:
https://lineage.plaync.com/powerbook/wiki/%EC%98%A4%ED%81%AC+%EB%B6%80%EB%9D%BD
(keep in mind, in real life the Lineage 1 Orc Fortress was there first and provided the inspiration for the Lineage 2 Orc Village)

Dwarves still play a rather important role as Warhouse Keepers. Here for example Nodim in Giran:
https://lineage.plaync.com/powerbook/wiki/%EB%85%B8%EB%94%A4
In Lineage Eternal (the precursor of Project TL), i.e. one generation after Lineage 1, "wild Dwarves" were still in Elmore, mining near the Frozen Labyrinth. You can see them at 11:14 in this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nB5cuHRTj90&feature=youtu.be

Ertheias exist only as the Arteia/아르테*아 of the lore (http://legacy.lineage2.com/background/legends02.html). In Lineage 1 they never made it into the game.

Kamael were an invention of the Lineage 2 developers, they neither exist in the original Lineage 1 comic (https://namu.wiki/w/%EB%A6%AC%EB%8B%88%EC%A7%80), nor in Lineage 1 the game. Like our cute little Ertheias, they are another case of alternative facts :D

great info, i thougt they went back to the first war and killed all orcs. XD

i dont get why they made all the turn arounds with the lore, kamaels were a great deal when they were introduced. :( thats sad, i really thought they had a big part on the lore of L1. those little girls that hit antharas for bilions are awful thx i m gladly that they arent in L1.

this big guy(kavatary i think) on this videos https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mQo6RXrjlv8 is a human or orc?
That's Atuba (his personal name, not the tribe), a Half-Orc. He is the 3rd son of Kan Saul from the Northern Orc Empire. At present that's off the map, but you might remember an early L2 map posted by Nuku, with an overlaid grid, where you could see the place, with the prefectures of Lansk and Rion, to the west of Schuttgart. Atuba's mother was a human woman, therefore the short ears. Now he is living in Rune:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sUpH9E8oRCM

But keep in mind, that's Lineage Eternal. Those MOBA-style archetypes with their pre-fabricated biographies which were revealed in elaborate quest series (Freya in the Dwarf video is another such Eternal archetype) met with very negative player reactions during the Closed Beta Test, both in Korea and at Rochand:
http://boards.rochand.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=1824&start=40#p35037
혼자 하는 재미를 극대화한 콘텐츠라고 생각한다/"you can most deeply experience the joy of being alone" :D

Therefore the Eternal archetype system was abandoned in favor of a traditional Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game with an open world where players freely interact in whichever way they deem fit, writing their own stories:

(about 1/3 down, under the picture with the back view of Albert)

Half-Orc Atuba definitely won't be a part of Project TL.

1) L3 STORE 2) gambling events Rest doesn’t really matter
No way i'll play another ncsoft game, i'll keep playing l2 until its dead

You didn't.
Maybe you played 8 years or so on subscription and investing great amount of time grinding to reach lvl 75 what was top, but that was another game.
All veterans got badly punished for their contribution in subscription because nowadays newcomers get to lvl 85 with no time and with gear gifted by NCSOFT.
Maybe you raised pet (wolf) up to level 75 in time when pets needed to earn XP by actually killing mobs and dyeing a lot in times when blessed scroll of resurrection for pets did not exist or was too expensive?

In one post here on forum I read that now one have to dump 5000 usd to reach others.
I don't have nothing contrary if ppl spend but should be more than that, one should sell a house to reach you after all those years of subscription.
In other words vets were punished so badly that every masochist envy.
And on top of that you have now possibility to feel pain of NCSOFT methods again with project TL (lineage 3).
