Pretty much Useless now. Seeing as how only a positive tick can be given to a forum user, what's the point of even HAVING forum rep?!
I'm not popular by any means. But seriously? It would be better to just eliminate forum rep than to just make it one sided, basically sugercoating it all. As so many things in L2 are, a complete waste.

It has less meaning then before, true. Sure most popular people will still have alot of green and will be easy to spot but.... all people (most) will have a greem bullet at least so they're all "good" people ? Certainly not. Certain people can and must be isolated on the forum as the common forum jerks untill they start acting properly, that's what the rep system is there for. Then again neg-rep is abused by idiots so.... can't have it all.
It's broken to some extent no matter how you have it, but hey, at least now people stopped crying about getting negative rep :).

Wow, and i was surprised that your reputation finaly changed from negative to possitive xD
I guess I wasn't paying attention. When did they remove the ability to negative rep someone? That sucks. It was kinda fun to do that... and to get them!!!! Wow. Freedom of opinion please!

I'm not sure, they're all purple now, unless the people who did it cannot give red dots anymore :P
And why someone should care about the his reputation in the forums?Actually, I got a kick out of the comments. But since no one can tell u you are rude or anything anymore, it's a little boring to check to see if anything has been said.
Are the people posting on these boards so sensitive and childish that there were that many complaints about the rep system? Pfft. Shame on you. You guys just don't know how to have fun! :D
The change in the Forum Reputation system was made in response to the extensive abuse of the negative rep system.
The way it works now is that positive rep can still be earned to reflect good information in posts. Everyone with a high positive rep will be pretty instantly recognizable and hopefully folks will be more trusting of information that these players report.
The negative rep system has been changed. You can now no longer give negative rep, only neutral rep. So while you can still be given 'neutral' comments that could be negative, it will not decrease your reputation points. The end result is that hopefully this will discourage the abusers of this system, but still give everyone the benefit of having positive rep for good posts, and also still giving the freedom to express on any post.
This a step we felt would be good that would let everyone keep the reputation system and hopefully encourage it to be used the way it should be. We will be evaluating it further and if necessary will make future changes.
ohhhhh - can't we have it back, please..... it is just like greifing in the game... but we could do it here on the boards.
As I look into my crystal ball, I now see the forum rep being just like the in game rep - it is only a fashion statement and in less than 10 mins, you can turn your name blue, or in this case, bright green.
...only neutral rep. So while you can still be given 'neutral' comments that could be negative, it will not decrease your reputation points.
Hey Kinslon,
Where is this neutral rep you speak of? The only option available is 'I approve' with an optional edit box for a comment. If you are referring to the grey boxes, they're in fact given by anyone who doesn't have enough reputation power. Consult the manual for more information :D
Placing destructive power in the hands of the people, is not a good thing. Besides, there were many situations and complaints of where the negative rep was being abused. Basically, they took away the bad part of the system and kept the good part about it. People are not likely to hand out random positive reps, as it takes time and most people are lazy. Those who do have a lot of rep, most likely earned it.
Also, in an effort to save me the trouble of cross posting and juggling 2 threads, I am closing this one in favor of a much older and longer thread that visits this same topic. Please go here:
