Regardless of what you think of the use of forums--I think this is an illustrative post. Notice the other player has almost no qualms about admitting EULA violation.

Thanks for sharing--this confirms my opinion that this type of thing is out in the open and doesn't cause the least embarrassment for the player who is cheating.

The only problem with stuff being put on the official boards. I don't believe the GM's can do much about it on here, because everything & anything can be photoshopped & even if it's true, it's he said, she said facts or fiction.
Best to send a support ticket directly with the proof & see if anything get's done about it! :) GL

Yeah, I would hope they do some kind of chat logging. Since the OP has a rough date and time, it will hopefully lead them to the convo in their logs.
Mind you, I can come in game and say I bot, doesn't make it true. They will still have to do research, but I bet if they verify that he said it, he will be monitored more often.

I believe someone mentioned once, that when something like this is brought forth, it get's posted on L2BLAH & botters are basically notifed to log out!
That also doesn't always help the GM's! :(
Still nice to hear that someone has proof of the botting going on in game!
They have chat logs of everything said ingame, and a screenshot like this could give them reason to look through logs and find any evidence of this player/any other account he logs in with that ip of botting.
THIS would be in a world where nc gave a **** about bots. Unfortunately, like you said this kind of stuff basically just means bots log out for the afternoon and come back tomorrow to continue botting.

You don't seem to know anything about legalities, so I'll just make this quick and simple.
You play NC's game, you play by NC's rules. There is no jurisdiction over your conversations with someone else in on online game, you don't want people reading it then don't type it.
And I don't see how you can make some sort of association between making objectional statements about russian politics, and racism. Just because someone can say George Bush is an arrogant ignorant idiot doesn't mean that they hate Americans, or America.

Everything that is typed or done in the game is saved to a file. As far as someone trying to use something other than a screenshot from any program other than the official server - NCSoft wont act on it. They may check the logs/files to see if this event actually happened and if the event did happen then the GMs do what they do.
I'd never worry about something that was said to have happened in the game but never did happen in the game. I'd never, ever worry about it. But if this conversation did happen, then the person saying it should be concerned.

You relinquish all privacy when you log on to Lineage, and more importantly than that, when you log on the internet. Every single character you type is available for someone elses viewing pleasure in one way or another. It does not mean someone is watching every move u make, but there is no way u can argue whatsoever that there is any privacy anywhere on the internet.
And, regardless of what a court of law would think about whispers being legal evidence of crime or not, NC isn't a court of law. NC is the law. If they wanna ban you they can do it for whatever reason they choose =) Not that they need any more reason, with his SS or not, they have chatlogs of everything said and they know that he admitted to botting.
And btw, over here in countries that aren't communist, as long as one party knows that the conversation is being recorded (i.e. the person taking the screenshots), then anything said and/or admitted to in that conversation is legal jurisdiction

Maybe you don't realize but your post has 2 parts:
1st one is statment where you state that I hate russians.
2nd part is question where you ask why I do that.
Its funny that heros talked like that in the hero chat. Very confindent...now, they changed that atitude full of being scared. Most of them are not legit or where at least not legit thats for sure. And the IQ from that hero is very well known...I mean, who is stupid enough to loan his full epic jewerly and equip to someone you dont know in real life? You trade because its your decision and its final, if he log out or whatever, pwned! your fault. Crying than here in the forum us all a river about it its very shameful.

I saw a log on a banned player. They had everything the people said from days before.
Actually, the attitude of localhost, and a lot other players is "It sucks to cheat, but it's worse to petition". And for a lot of them "It's lame to cheat, it's cool to bot".
You won't educate them. That fact they think petition is worse than cheating itself (even if they admit it killed PvP), is obviously showing that they fear being banned.

I said it already, confidentiality is not an issue when 1 member of the party knows that the conversation is being recorded. He knew that the conversation was being recorded because he was the one taking the screenshots, so there is no longer a privacy issue. It was not a 3rd party looking in on 2 other peoples conversation. And even if it was, NC has the tools AND the authority to do that, and use whatever kind of private discussion they may find in any way they choose to, if it means posting the chatlogs of every online cybersex session u have ever had in whispers on the front page of lineage2.com. Your whispers in game are their property.

Unless you, the other player, and NCSoft all sign a NDA (non-disclosure agreement) stating that any private conversation will not be posted, bla bla bla - even then.. good luck.
Remember - anything you say can and will be used against you....
If anyone has reason to suspect that a player is botting or otherwise using illegal programs in game, please use the bot button and if there is strong evidence submit a petition. Please do not use these forums as a way to complain about others because the GMs do not read these boards so this info will not get to them.
The proper channels are the best ways to get these issues reported. Please use them.
