I am a Maestro and have been in a certain place in Giran for about 2 years. Recently a new dwarf (levelled ofc through dodgy means) keeps coming and sitting on my shop, so people cannot click me. Although it is annoying, as I have sat there so long, I moved to a new spot as it was just silly, and now he keeps sitting on top of me wherever I move.
Is this a form of griefing that GMs can intervene with? Is it ok if I just start sitting a char on top of him!
I know it is petty, but it is a really frustrating situation :(
Just out of curiosity are they selling the same items you are?
As for a solution maybe try the /petition function. I know they will move people who sit on warehouse people, merchants and gate keepers, not sure they will do this for a PC shop but might be worth a shot. What's the worst that can happen, they say no?
put a message on you, like your name and then ppl who like you will get your target, then they will craft on your shop. you can also ask friend t otarget you and to make shop and put a message to take his target :)
if you are in clan you have 2 variants :) change your tittle, i don`t think the other dorf will do the same thing

no good. assist doesn't work if the friend targets the crafter dwarf while someone that wants to craft on that dwarf is outside of target range.
example:
the crafter dwarf sits down
the friend targets and setup a shop with the message to assist.
the following can happen:
you are in target range of the friend so you can assist and get the target.
or
2. you are porting to the town or are to far away to target the friend and when you get close and target the friend you won't be able to asist because the client don't know what the friend has in target.

Sounds like some form of harrassment. You tried to move away and it didn't work. Did you try PMs? (it probably won't go far)
If he keeps doing that, petition and hope a nice GM will come quick.
If all else fails, actually try talking to him. I've been playing the market all this week; it's amazing how far a "^^" will get you, especially if you're a dark elf female. ;) Here's hoping your dorf isn't male.
LOL - ok.. the real question is who did you piss off that would spend the time to do that to you.
Harassment - iffy... since the toon is not emailing/PMing you threats or anything like that just messing with you. Would be like in the old days of the perma reds sitting outside of Dion and not letting anyone leave town - not illegal, just mean.
Play another game if it's that much of a big deal. I doubt the GMs will do anything about it. This is a FFA PvP game. Either try to make him go outside and kill him, or just deal with it. Sometimes you get a raw deal and have to roll with it. I know a lot of people who've had that happen to them, and there was nothing they could do about it. If he is using a program to target you and sit on top of you, then you should petition him (try to make a replay of you moving and him following you around, maybe more than one at rather odd times to display this, or fraps...) and I'll agree that something should be done about it...
If you were a gatekeeper, then I guess there would be something to complain about :P
The fact is, there's no possible PvP interaction in town beside talking to the guy. So if that doesn't work, you can't do anything. Put your store out of town and nobody will buy you anything. The griefer won't follow there. Bring your clannies to deal with the problem, they can't do anything.
This is very different from any PvP situation. People killing you out of town, there are solutions. People trying to scam you, there are solutions (securities). But there are things that aren't allowed even in a FFA PvP game, like insults and harrassment. Harrassment in a FFA PvP game is certainly only when you can't do anything to solve your problem by yourself and the griefer can only win.
So, this cross the border, it's no longer the game we play, it isn't handled by the rules.

maybe that guy love you. he likes to sit on you. ^^
This is not allowed and GMs will move shops. I saw someone banned for sitting in the same place 3 times when a GM teleported them. They got a 5 days ban and warned not to do it again or it be a perma one.
GM's will move the offender, and warn, move and give final warning, banned temp for not listening.
do a name change, get as long name as possible, if i remember correctly the game will target the longest name esier then a short one :P
oh and another thing, to get exactly on top of you, he almost need to use some 3rd party program, cause doing it with regular client is next to impossible. if hes of by just 1 in x or y position all you would need to do is look from a diferent angle to target you.
That definatly should not be his last option! Seriously if some one can f... your game so much that you need to change names is a sad game to play it, but is hard to believe it is even possible to get things to such an extent. Just move around ignore him etc, he should get bored of doing it in time, and yes if you can prove he is using a 3-th party program to sit on you get his *** banned.

Please reconsider the use of "FFA", "Free for all", "Wide open PvP" and anything else that come close to inferring that you can attack anyone at any time.
I had a toon locked on my dorf one night so i took it for a run around town, didnt work, than i put my wargear on than targeted it ready to run out of town, the thing litterally disapeared as soon as targeted it .....GF :P

I had a toon locked on me in giran once, so i brought it outside of giran into the water and watched it drown
shops should have a maximum area limit to be set near each other. would solve this problem and will spreed people trough the empty spaces, also would reduce the number of idiots sitted arround the gk.

I was most likely mass petitioned by the hundreds of butthurt wartags that slammed their keyboards after getting hit for over 9000 damage by me, this I can live with life goes on grats to all legits who want to kill thousands of the sed byame monsters for years on end and still never reach endgame.
