I voted yes because of the changes to the bot button reporting in gracia final and the problems with griefing of legit players as discussed in this thread http://boards.lineage2.com/showthread.php?t=201485
But actually I would prefer a choice of: Put the bot button back the way it was pre-gracia final.
If enemies can make you flag and unable to join a party as well as chat ban etc. then this needs to be changed back to the way it was before the gf update. It is obviously being abused and I think we could lose a lot of legit players because of it.
I reported a lot of bots in catas with the prior bot button and every couple of weeks they were gone. Of course they came back within a week or so, it's just a massive job to keep up with I imagine :( In this day and age of computer technology I can't understand how there isn't a better way to detect bots. Another game I played had an occasional popup where you had to type in a code that was on a graphic, like so many web sites do for registering.
At least if the waiting was actually worth it... There are common bot parties in HS on Teon that are there 24/7 (one of them KS EVERYTHING)... and yet they don't do ANYTHING... so they only reduced the amount of bot button hits, but they don't actually do anything. I hope that new GM will actually do something about it.
it should not be removed it should be fixed... those abusing it should get the penalty ...

I notice fewer bots around these days that is good. The abuse argument does not hold with me. I wonder if the people who yell the loudest have alterative motives.
eBot button has always ben abused since it first came out giving you a bot button doesn't help them at all when mass players are randomly picking off players they don't like. In addition fixing the bot button to back fire on a player defeats the purpose of the bot button because how are they suppose to know exactly if that's a bot or not. Like the items states YOU have been "Suspected" of using the program illegally. It basically means your suspected of breaking the EULA agreement (not just botting).
You could be doing the following In essence:
(A) Sharing Accounts
(B) Selling / Trading Currency
(C) Spamming
(D) Using Devices that have built in software to automate or "loop" skills
(E) Using a Program to help assist in automation
(F) Forming a hate group(s) (lol @ this one)

I recommend all EULA reporters to file reports via the Support website and follow up on your report.

Devices that use Third Party Software which can setup macros which can be Looped are Against the EULA.
DEFINITION OF Botting: Automated macros doing the same repetitive stuff nonstop without the need of "human input."
If your looping your skills with a Nostromo or G15 or Anything that Records YOUR KEY STROKES AND ALLOWS YOU THE OPTION TO LOOP you ARE Breaking the EULA.
As stated before.... "YOU HAVE BEEN SUSPECTED OF USING THIS PROGRAM ILLEGALLY"

ultimately the bot botton is useless as it is. It doesn't actually report bots and therefore bots don't get banned from it. Even if you get all of your clannies and friends together to report one character out of 9 in a bot train, the worst you will do is force it to log off for the day, with all it's report counters gone within 12 to 24 hours. So basically, after an alliance wide effort your 100 people ally can stop ONE bot party out of HUNDREDS for ONE day. This is beyond stupid. It's like banging your head against the wall so your broken arm doesn't hurt anymore.

I'm split on this one...I can see WHY they have the major restrictions on bot reporting, to keep people from spamming reports to screw someone they're mad at...but at the same time as it's been mentioned previously, I hate that I can only report 1 person in an obvious bot group, and I have to wait 30 minutes in between and only have 6 reports for my entire account. I see plenty more bots than that each day.
Ah well. I suppose we'll see where it goes. This game has been pretty dynamic as far as adjustments being made along the way.

Form a Bot Hunting group and have em all target 1 player with the report button and you'll see how silly this bot report button is.
I do agree this should not be our job, because they hire people that can't tell whos a bot. Either botting is OK or they hire random people off the streets that's never even played a console game let alone a mmorpg

In the old days they would ban both your forum account and game account (because they are linked!) for even minor forum rule violations. When they started banning everybody for complaining about bots they dropped that rule.
But yeah... nc sure has their priorities messed up. I never understood why this forum exists, much less has such stringent (usually) forum moderation. Apparently ncsoft can afford full time forum monitors but can't be bothered to check varka silenos once a month.

Maybe... The Police is eating a doughnut and watching videos on youtube on his heavy duty notebook, which is attached to his Interceptor (Aka Patrol Car). As he is watching and eating he has his Speed Gun Active, as cars pass by he ignores the blinking LED as it displays speeds over the regulated speed limit because he's to busy trying to eat his doughnut and/or watching dumb videos in his interceptor or maybe on a phone with his lover. After he was done eating and watching videos, To Fill his quota, he spots one car he dislikes and profiles it because it doesn't look like someone who can fight back with a lawyer if they took him to court. So he pulls that car over and give that person a reason and a ticket. As the "victim" of the speed trap explains, multiple care slow down then speed over the limit (probably laughing at that person) after they are out of that persons sight.
In conclusion what has this police done to enforce and regulate the law? NOTHING he just filled his quota and ate a doughnut or two and watched you tubes videos and allowed multiple cars to pass over the speed limit.
Why did this police do that?
(A) Laziness
(B) Doesn't like his job or not enthusiastic about it
(C) Thinks of it as a chore
(D) Etc...

2. He promoted botting
3. Hes post clearly showed that he was serious about it
4. I doubt the GM's banned him just by reading the forum and not checking hes character 1st.
5. In the forum rules (lost with the new forum) it clearly said that if you violate the forum rules severly enough you can get banned from the forum and game.
So yes. NCSoft did a good job of banning another botter that made a mistake by thinking that this forum was blah where 99% of the posters runs theyr own 24/7 bot trains everywhere.
We don't need that kind of trash in these forums, if they can't handle the grind and need to bot then they can get the hell out of here and play a non-grinding game.
I assume it's to hard to program game guard to not let you logg in at all if it detects a 3rd party program such as these bot programs. With a fail safe that if you can logg in with a bot program game guard shuts your game down and reports the info to the GM's on the spot. If that happens end of story your acct get's banned while ncsoft goes over the logg that was submitted by the game guard report and makes the permanent decision on the matter .If they think it was a glitch then you get 1 chance after that. It happens again then that's the end of you playing that acct in lineage 2.
Someone on thier staffs gotta be able to program that to work since they get paid to be computer programmers. Then each maintenence day they make the patches to game guard that detects the latest bot software.
