Every1 knows that there can be crit when u use heal. Does it depend on valakas, wm, augments, enlightment etc? Does it have same crit value as magic attack or it has own crit rate? If some1 knows it - plz write it down :)
P.S. for ppl like serelina, plz dont post in that thread, ty.
That's what I was wondering too.
A friend Eva Saint tells me he gets more heal crits thank to his WM, but it sounds more like subjective observation than strict statistics. If someone did an experiment, I'd like to know too.
When I say that I don't know if it heal crits better with WM, my clannies say that's because I can't know, I don't heal... ><' WTS clannies!
Yea, Heart of Pa'agrio can Crit. I'm willing to bet the Crit Rate is the same as Nukes (works off of WIT, and then modifiers from buffs etc.).
I don't think anyone who has posted in this thread has really tested this enough to form a useful hypothesis.
It's easy enough to test on a nuker with BTB6 and Conversion weapon with Arcane Power toggled on :P
Lowbie Battle Heal and Servitor Heal also crits. The Crits are factorable when you have Wild Magic 2 buffed. I'm willing to bet they are even more frequent with stacked M.Crit buffs/dances (Siren, PoWater, WM2, Passive WM Aug, etc.).
WIT - Increases chance of magic critical hits, casting speed, resistance to Hold, resistance to curses (such as HP degeneration, decreased HP recovery rate, increased skill re-use time, and decreased effect of heals).
The magic critical rate has been increased to 10 times.
The magic critical damage has been decreased to 3 times from 4 times of normal damage.
The magic critical damage rate has been adjusted so that its occurrence rate does not exceed a maximum of 20%.
They never said the magic crit rate is a fixed number in Gracia 1. All they said was what is quoted above - that the base magic crit rate was increased to 10 times what it was before. So magic crit rate still depends on WIT and is different for each nuker, depending on class and tattoos.
According to l2p web page, base magic crit rate (unbuffed, no augmentation/epics etc.) was about 1% to 1.4% or so depending on class and tattoo, so now it is 10% to 14% or so, and buffs/augmentations etc. can increase that to a maximum of 20% (e.g. Wild Magic increases it by 2%, as does PoWater)

patch notes say increased to ten times, the what it was before is your assumption which you added in the end of the sentence.
Note how the sentence below says crit damage was decreased to 3 times from 4 times of normal damage
Also note the difference of increase by 10 times and increase to 10 times

And what assumption do you add? Increased to ten times of what?

Come on, what did you expect from NCsoft's translations?
The NCSoft translations are crystal Clear, and so was the reasoning for those changes - which did not change the way base m.crit rate was calculated, just mulitiplied the product of the calculation by 10).
Atropy doesn't know what he/she is talking about.
They had to increase the base rate dramatically due to the fact that they were nerfing the buffs and capping the rate at 20%.
When they first introduced the M.Crit buffs there were not enough buffs/items to get a mage over a 20% crit rate in existence. With Dance of Siren, Prophecyof Water, Valakas, WM Passive/Active Augmentations (Stacking), and later WM Talismans that was no longer the case.
The base Crit Rate of a Mage was extremely low, and that's why the buffs added huge % to M.Crit Rate and were allowed to stack in a way that was dissimilar from normal buffs. With all these buffs in game, they had to do something, cause even without Valakas it was becoming possible to achieve 60%+ M.Crit Rate with some adena and little effort (Talismans, Augments, and buffs only).
They decreased M.Crit damage because the Attribute system increased damage by so much, and people would obviously be taking more M.Crits.
They added more Attribute this update, and decrease M.Crit damage further (and added what they took out mostly to buffs and passives - PoWi/VoP/Magician's Will) to keep it balanced out.

my 79 bish crits slightly more, I notice it all the time when under wm....
I think it is the same formula as for nuke M.Crit. I think they just added a flag to Heals to allow them to crit (maybe a bit oversimplified :P )... They even crit for the same amount as Nukes (3x, nuke crit dmg reduction is only for PvP, it's still 3x for PvE).

no. Not right.
Heal crits accur much much rarer than nuke m.crits. That's for sure.
Where is your data to back that up, if you're so sure?
The M.Crit Rates seem equivalent to me.
It's not like I don't have enough toons that cast lots of heals.
I'd like to see you data/test case, though, since you so assuredly disagree.
Maybe your observation stems from the fact that you tend to nuke more on a nuker than a Healer actually heals, especially at higher levels. There is also no message that tells you that you Crit a heal, so you cannot see a Heal Crit when you "overheal" someone. It looks like a normal heal, but it really isn't.
I've already tested the Heal Crit Rate, standing in town with Arcane Power Toggled on equiping and dequiping a conversion homu while spamming Body to Mind and healing myself with SE and EE.
ES Servitor Heal Crits a LOT more than Warlock, also, which leads me to believe WIT is a factor [which leads me to believe the formula is equivalent for both.
EDIT: Agree to disagree :)
If I have the time this week-end maybe I'll run some tests since i have Warlock/ES/SE/EE/OL to run it with, and 3 robe sets with different WIT levels.

tren, you don't know what you're talking about. Start a healer and look for yourself. How can I prove you my personal observations? Are you out of your mind? In lineage2, where you don't know anything about games mechanics you want some proof?
I have EE, SE, OL, ES, Warlock, Battle Heal on Necro, Battle Heal on SPS, Battle Heal on SH
That is more than enough Healers. I use the heals often. The M.Crit Rate is tied to WIT from what I've seen.
I edited, but I want to conduct a more comprehensive test than what I've done. I want to swap the gear around to manipulate the characters' WIT and compare the Heal Crit Rates.
You see, DC, Majestic, and NM Robes all results in different WIT values for the same character (+2, +0, -2 WIT in the set bonuses, respectively).
My edit was only to acknowledge that my test wasn't comprehensive enough to form a thoroughly solid hypothesis, and I want to allow myself some time to double check it. Using different characters with different base wit and manipulating the wit settings in a more comprehensive (and longer-running) test will allow me to see if the connection is as solid as I proclaim.
You can prove you personal observations by casting a couple thousand heals, like I will do.
I do find it interesting that my unbuffed Necro didn't M.Crit a same-level character until the 44th nuke, but my unbuffed SE Heal crit 3 times by the time she got to the 44th Battle Heal. This will be interesting!

That should be easy to test, give a healer powind, which increases mcrit damage :D
What a horrible troll.
"They see me trolling, they hating..."
EDIT: Seriously though, this test will be interesting. I assume you'll be doing some tests for damage magic to make a comparision to the heals. While your at it, roll Kamael Soul Hound and test their magic crit rate also.
I'm interested as their spells seemed supposedly designed to take into consideration their stats (high natural casting speed). So I wonder about the crit rates with a abysmal 11 base Wit. Thanks ^_^.
Only gotten my soulbreaker to 56, but the mcrit rate of soulbreaker seems really really low, like how the SH had it way back in the day when they added it.

what, you don't want me to outright solve this problem almost immediately for you, too?
nice PS in OP lol.
i have a fanboy...i'm so proud!!
i'll admit i know next to nothing about healing mechanics in l2, so you're off the hook on this one.
You have proven before that you dont know all that much about this game, and that you have an overactive imagination that makes up for your shortcomings.
If we wanted someone to make up some stuff about mcrit rate, you would be the man/woman to go to. But thats not what the OP needed.

ra*** came to the forum and asked for a direct gm response for something. i answered him with certain possibilities mere hours after he asked. he flamed me for being ignorant. i told him he's an amateur because he doesn't have his opponent targetted when he leaves the oly gate, let alone have them on a /target macro. 8 pages later, i tested what myself and someone else said on page one and proved his answer. he still flamed me. there were some personal confusions in the beginning since it wasn't even his problem and he didn't provide all of the information, but the problem was solved, none the less.
everyone else jumped on the bandwagon because there was no way to prove game mechanics back in the day, or even today, besides personal observations.
point is, we solved his problem (even though asking for gm responses on the forum is a bannable offense) and he was a pissy little 12 year old ingrate in return.
i told him he's an amateur because he doesn't have his opponent targetted when he leaves the oly gate, let alone have them on a /target macro.
now, I don't deny that I'm an amateur, cause I don't have ppl on macro either when at oly.
Is there some sor tof secret? Or just a speed typing solves all? :) share plz
as for your war on the forum, I personally love reading all those accusations from both you and the rest :) It makes me wake up from a boring working day ;)

the trick is to have a macro that's just /target (player) in your list and to just have it open for edit when you are buffing up before the gate opens. when your spotter (the person watching the match listings) tells you who you're facing, you just type in their name and save the macro. you can then target them, no matter where they are in the arena and even before the gates open.
there's also a few things you can do with nostromo macros but i was never too in to it to learn those.
unfortunately, i'm not going to break the EULA and ToS and find a c2/3 server to prove it on so i'm still just going by personal observation.
good thing for me that's what 99.9% of people only have going for them as well. no one else has put forth an alternative use for the skill so my personal experiences are the best thing to go on at the moment.
supposedly root was an earth-based spell but i could never test that.
we were just on 10th one night joking around at how worthless most summoners were, warlock mostly, and i told them about my surrender to earth skill. i just started throwing it out on the angels and they started to die much faster. damage was compared throughout the night and it was officially decided that it was one of my new party jobs.

Thankfully burden of proof lies on you, since you said Surrender To Earth actually did something.
So what lvl is your skill "Blow smoke up ppls behind'" now?
