in ur way of asuming i cud note that this might be false contacts setup only for this purpose :) if ppl wanted to use it they be long gone to the many sites beeing spammed anyway :)

I heard of ppl that got banned for messing with bots. That was not the official reason NC gave to them but whatever. If you guys think NCSoft fight against bots you all are completely idiots. No offense. I meant naive.
For the last 2 months I have periodically hunted bots and tried to find a way to mess with them. This was the best idea so far I have come up with. Hopfully others will try it which is why I posted about it.
Finding a way to mess with them and having them level you seem like 2 different things to me. As I see it you were helping them out, saving them from death as you have said and keeping them from leveling up too fast and having to take time delevel. About the same as getting in a cata bot gp, sitting in the hallway and going to bed and saying the next day after you were banned, "hey, I was sleeping, I dont really know if they were bots or not..."
How were you 'messing' with the gp? The last bot gp I messed with in WoA I (and my wife) trained like a hundred times over a few weeks, pk'd and kill ressed about a hundred more. Now that was fun :)

Yeah their program has to be set to accept out of party rezzes....if you pk somebody who is afk try to 0% res them right after, if they take it pk again and res....for this gp it was the targetter who was accepting the rez, so we pk'd the whole gp and just rezzed the one guy who would go and try to kill mobs on his own with no buffs and die, then we would res again and keep doing that for a few hours, so basically for the hundred times he died, we only got 6 pk's
The pk, try 0% rez is awesome for the 2 way wartags also that are afk...always try to res a wartag you think is afk botting :)
From a official view, someone that groups people doesn't necessarily knows if they are bot or not. If nor even NC knows if they are bot or not, how the fak a normal person would know? Suspicious actions and common behavior dont prove anything. In a lawcourt, what you know (or what u think u know) does not matter. What matter is what you can prove.
Being banned for be in a party of possible bots would be a nice case for many lawyers I know. Is like something like this:
Legit player: **** I got banned for being in a group of possible bots. I'll sue NC.
Lawyer: Yeah, I accept the case, it will be a piece of cake.
*(in lawcourt)*
Lawyer: My client says he got banned for be in a party of bots, it is not legal.
NC: But its is true, he was in a party of bots.

NC: Characters played by an automated program.

Absolutely pathetic, there may be far less bots but there's also a lot less players.

It's also hard to enjoy the game when most lveling areas have several bot groups. Heck yeah, that's fun.

i know of some bot locations where i would draw in 10-15 mobs to take them out for me... the plan was working until those boxed healers managed to keep the bot damage dealer alive... apparently this requires some actual pvp action... mob trains just won't do.

it looked to me like a player who wanted to buy adena rather than someone who wanted to sell it. maybe some poor sap didn't know it was against the rules and wanted to go through other players rather than through some crazy organization... "place adena seller spam site here"
but since the problem has been resolved for the time being...

I will go on record AGAIN and declare that if we had a Lyzira on every server (with a Ban Bot mandate from NC) we would eliminate 95% of our Bot problems.

95% of top pvp clans use bots or are related to bot programs.
If GM do so, the game will really be dead.
EPIC FAIL - the game is dead because of the botted "top pvp" clans.

Well. put it this way. Can you honestly say that anyone you have ever partied with or done business with (of any sort) were not at some point doing something against EULA, be that ebaying, botting, account sharing?

When I first started my chars I had parties with my clan and I can guarantee they were not bots, we were chatting all the time and having fun.
Since I came back to L2 I had only 1 party with a clan mate and he sure wasn't botting ... again chatting a lot.
The rest was done solo, yes never botted, I do lvl slow but it depends on my own free time and every time I get a lvl , it feels like an accomplishment.

To be honest, this game is somehow encouraging you to bot: boring grinding, slow lvling, hard to make money, the new content, element stones, new weapon and gears. I understand some people love this game but don't have time to play. When seeing their friends/clannies going high lvl but losing parties themselves, so they have to ebay and botting themselves.
L2 is not a so friendly game, I believe everyone would rather spend more time earning RL money than virtual adena.

I assure you you will never be able get to lvl85 if you only play legit. The xp you needed at lvl83 is just terrible. And I am sure once you got 85 they would have already cap the lvl at lvl90. The xp/sp you need to enchant skills are huge.
Bots can chat, sip coffee and level at same time :rolleyes: with you in party.
You don't know unless you sit next to them sir, please check yourself before you wreck yourself.
I just wanted to add that when i level with a real person i tell them that i won't be able to chat much. the reason is that i can't seem to play my toon and chat at the same time. i can multi tast maybe 3 toons effectively but i can't chat and play one ...unless i'm just healing and buffing of course.
i played with one girl for a long time and she could play her toon, talk in clan chat, Alliance chat and have 2 or 3 private conversations going. She was a L2 god (goddess actually)..lol.

What about the constant stream of auto adds we get in game in our our chat windows complete with links to go and buy adena with real money?
All you need do is look at the long list of blocked names on my account and you will have enough accounts to keep you in the ban business for a week.

Doesn't need to. Dealing with non-legit somebody does not make you less legit, unless you are geting an unfair advantage from that deal.

They must have a toon collecting names somewhere. When I make a new char it doesnt get the pm until I start porting around a lot.

it's thanks to l2 walker (and prob a hundred other similar programs). it logs toon names, clans...everything you can think of can and is log'd by it.
i've seen clans who are only new having their lvl and member list etc log'd then posted on other sites so other can decide if the clan is right for them to join
btw there is no point to blocking the adena seller names, they are trial accounts and are blocked after they have spammed their message. also spamming them back doesnt mess with their script so dont bother.
lots of you think there are no 100% legit people playing the game anymore but thats incorrect. i'm 100% legit, i havnt been in bot parties, i havnt bought/sold adena or gear, i havnt bought anything ingame from anyone. in fact the only interaction i have had with bots is their spam pm's, reporting them when i see them, killing them or having their enforcer try kil me to either take the spot or as retribution for killing their precious bot toons.
heck i have even reported clan mates for botting and killed them when i see them botting.
just for the record, just because someone doesnt reply to pm's etc doesnt mean they are bots. there is alt+j which a lot of people use in order to concentrate on just grinding instead of being distracted by others wanting to just chat.
