All servers will be down for maintenance Tuesday, October 5 at 7am PDT / 9am CDT / 10am EDT / 2pm UTC/GMT. Estimated downtime is approximately 8 hours.
With this maintenance, the Lineage II servers will merge:
Aria, Bartz, Devianne, Phoenix and Sayha will become Chronos.
Franz, Luna and Teon will become Naia.
Once the servers are up, you'll have to download a small game update to reflect the new server list, but that download shouldn't take longer than the usual maintenance downloads.
All servers will be crashed for maintenance in less than 22 hours on October 5 at 7am PDT / 9am CDT / 10am EDT / 2pm UTC/GMT and 5o'clock SDT, DDT, STD whatever. Estimated downtime = servers will come back up SOON (tm) after the downtime starts.

this is L2, Stuff happens . . . just think of it as procrastinating in doing your sin eater and then you rack up one PK too many and dropped all of the things you didn't mail because of your procrastinating.
Something I didn't find in the guide: What about buffs we had on when the servers went down? Specifically, the birthday buff?

Buffs: Buffs will stay on the character.
Banned character names: These names will not become available simply because the character is banned. However they will become available if there is a name conflict.
TW items and Olympiad Tokens: These will be transferred intact.
I very much doubt they will be doing anything in this update, other than merging the servers which is a mammoth job and has a billion things to go wrong, without trying to fix other minor bugs.
What happen to the Server Discussion on forum? it merged to when the server merged?
No, the old server forums will not be merged. When the new servers are open, I will open new Server Discussion forums, one for Chronos and one for Naia. At the same time, the old server discussion forums (Bartz, Teon, etc) will be moved to the Archived Forums section and will be closed. Archived Forums are viewable but may not be added to.

Why? That would really knacker the siege/fort times etc. I reckon it will be carnage enough for the first few weeks with three and four server merges as the main clans battle for control, never mind all seven servers, should be fun :))

Nah, have it up when ready, people are itching to get on and theres been no mention of a definate 8 hour downtime, just an estimated. Big patches like this always come back on early, so it's expected anyway.

Now that there will be only 2 servers are there going to be any GM random event during the week, just to spice things up a little bit, you know help people brake the ice
so aside from those staying up late waiting patiently for the servers to come online..... i'm guessing to get their names and to make sure they get their clan names they wish to keep...

yea that looks good actually, the new currency system will be cool and the pc gets dedicated servers so thats a huge plus (although they are regulated by activi$ion)

You can change your forum name, just PM sace what you want it changed to. But you can only get your forum name changed once.
I had the same thing with a character named ShailaWaters YEARS ago, so changed it to my current main rather recently... really hoping i don't lose the name or it would kinda defeat the point of getting my server name changed. xD

FYI, the existing server-specific sections in the Server Discussion forum will not be merged. Those sections will be locked and moved to Archived Forums, where they will still be viewable.

New servers means new server-specific sections. Server Discussion sections "Chronos" and "Naia" will open once the servers are open to the public.
Because of the many, many name changes and clan changes that will likely take place, it is most efficient if players simply start new threads in the new server sections once their name conflicts have been resolved.
Also, I have posted new threads in the Clan Hall Recruitment forum for Chronos and Naia, and they will be unlocked once the servers open.

That's exactly my thought, it'll probably be like "servers are up" "wooot" everyone storms to log in, and suddenly "servers are down due to emergency maintenance" :cool:

I did the daylight savings thing wrong and even though I saw server go down at 3pm my time (UK time) was trying to log on since 8 thinking 2pm +8 = 10pm, -1 for daylight = 9pm, -1 for coming up early = 8pm...
nono the best is then...merge Naia and chronos into 1 server :D ha and of course all start from lvl 1 :D This would be the best way to gain new players! xD
I like the word "estimated" lol. It means you can say a time, it goes wrong, and you avoid being strung up by your balls because its a guess not a guarantee!

I was curious and looked at files. There were much more extended changes, but could be just some bugfixes. I hope no event yet, lets wait for exp places to clear a bit, after first wave of quits, maybe it is time for event :)
