A rising number of Shilen's followers and their immeasurable power of prayer led to the day of Shilen's resurrection bit by bit." The angel Nevit has been calmly watching this event unfold and, one day, he shot the Arrow of Light down from the heavens. The arrow contained a vision of himself, which served to bolster religious devotion to Einhasad. Those who were shot by this arrow became susceptible to hallucination by the fantasy and power of the light.
But what do the actual followers of Shillen get. All the dark elves worship Shillen.
Do we get the 'immeasurable power' instead ?
Or, do the dark elves turn away from Shillen? What about the Elroki who worship Shillen?
What impact has the resurection of Shillen on the dark races we play?

None. L2's lore is just gravy. Even tho DE follow Shillen, you will still use a BD and SE against her. /Fail

Firstly, most dark elves do not worship Shillen.
I've made a number of posts about this to help clarify for people what the lore in this game means.
Firstly, I will start by saying that the entire lore section of the website is a story being told to a small group of people by Gran Kain. So like, five people in the world actually know the history. 99% of "characters" have no idea what actually when on. For example, most humans genuinely beleive that Einhasad is their creator, because history has been re-written. (not a strong RPer here, but one of the most important things to do, is distinguish beween what you, the player knows, and what your character knows).
The Dark elves have been fooled just as much, if not more so. After the war, when the brown elves and received their dark power (not from Shilen, but from a human, Dasparion), they were cursed by the elves and became dark elves.
Shilen never granted them power, and really doesn't care much about them one way or the other. In fact, when she vowed to destroy the world, I'm sure she didn't put a clause in the vow to sapre the dark elves.
An example of this could be garnered from the text in the new lore.
In effort to eliminate the remaining three seals that confined her soul, Shilen sacrificed her followers in the Necropolis and Catacombs, using their dark energy to summon the "Dark Moon," which would be her eyes upon the world.
She just sacrificed all her followers to enter the world. I'm not super hardcore into the RP side of the game, I won't lie. But it's cool that some poeple do... in fact, I think they are much better players to have than the uber-grind, gotta-have-the-best, ebaying, botting cheaters that we tend to get instead.
However, if you're gonna RP in the game... read the lore (all of it) before you go proffessing your DE characters' undending loyalty to a diety that would sooner kill you than look at you... I mean really.

Wrong. She just sacrificed the ones in the catacombs. And the Dark Elves still follow Shillen.
Whose statues are those at the Dark Elf Village and at the Shillen Temple? (Whoa, there's a Shillen Temple?)
Have you ever done the "Trial of the Pilgrim" quest?
Did you know Dark Elves fully accept death as part of their lives? Do the quest to become a Palus Knight then. Death is just returning to Mother Shillen's arms.
The following excerpt from Kaisha's Revelation explains the Lilim as having immortal bodies:
Lilim, soldiers that gave up their lives for Shilen, could not die, as their names had been removed from the list of the dead. If a Lilim expired, he returned to the side of Shilen in the netherworld... The number of followers applying for rebirth as Lilim was great, but that opportunity was not provided to them all. Those who were not selected became a lower tribe called Lisch. Lilim formed the main fighting force that resisted the army of the empire. The Lisch repaired and managed the Necropolis and Catacombs.
What is Kaisha's Revelation? It is an ancient text written in the Era of the Giants. Untainted by the lies of the present, it contains the true story of Gran Kain and Shillen. (OMG, that very same story from the website!) And yes, this is present int he game, and every single Dark Elf comes across this during class changes.
Oh, and Dark Elves congregate to celebrate Dark Masses every so often at the Shillen Temple. (I wonder who they worship during these rites. Hmmm....)
It's what happens when too many different people work on the lore.
Nevertheless, the description of the dark elves on the official page says:
"Dark Elves were once part of the Elven tribes, but were banished after they learned black magic in order to obtain the power to fight Humans. They lost the battle, but continued to study the dark arts. Dark Elves have similar features to their Elven brethren, but are taller, have blue-gray skin, and silver hair. They follow Shilen, the goddess of Death."
and then you of course have the one class which really should not participate in any activity against Shilen, the Shillien Saint:
"Strongly devoted followers, Shillien Saints worship Mother Shilen, who lies asleep in the shadowy abyss of the underworld. Also referred to as the priests of the abyss, they are able to perform the ancient miracles of the Shillien Elders that were once rendered obsolete. They are also the hope of the Dark Elves, who believe that Shillien Saints will herald the advent of a new world with the resurrection of the dark goddess."
(and about the "Shilen not giving powers" part, here's what the description of the Shillien Oracle says):
"Shillien Oracles are Mystics who borrow the power of the gods â specifically Shillien - to perform miracles. "
The lore is very interesting to read, but some things in the game just make no sense.

This Quest was absolutely awesome !!
And, just like you said, full of Lore about Shilen and Dark Elves society !
I may create another character just to do it again, cos it's been so long since i've done it that i don't remember everything...
It's what happens when too many different people work on the lore. [...] The lore is very interesting to read, but some things in the game just make no sense.
Unfortunately, you're right about that...
But it's not only a "L2-exclusive" problem, we have the exact same issue with, for example, the newest Edition (4th) of Dungeons & Dragons where a lot of things about the Outer Planes, Demons, etc..., got mixed up and it's very hard to put everything together when you've been playing since the 1st Edition...
Anyway, with so much confusion about the Lore, and specifically Shilen who will be the center point of the next big update, maybe it's time that someone tries to mix these different things together as smooth as possible and comes up with something that actually makes sense ?
Maybe someone with a Dark Elf tatoo on his arm ? ;)
And running the Shillien Empire ? :p
(with the "Lore" section on the Clan website that could finally be of some use...)
So ... would anyone want to help me and participate in this ?
