It's clearly very difficult to spot the 8 ninjas in that image....
You found Waldo? :D

Before you even think about making jokes: that is not our office, it is an offsite location. :p

Is your office worse than that location?
Oh, my God...

Well, i hope the asiatic guy is there to say: "we will suport more our office in North America/Europe! Don`t despair, the NCSoft HQ will not abandon our faithful ocidental consumers!".:D
So thats the guy who had to came to make HF goes live? =P

I just wanna know whos the girl on the wall!
We had a special visitor at the office over the last few days... Can you guess who?

Executive Producer Chae Gi-byeong, he traveled to your office to speak about new update Goddess of Destruction :>

but I still wonder why this thread is in High Five section ;o
Who ever it is tell him I would like to see Goddess of destruction on our PTS server so we can test it is as well. The Korean PTS seems to be scheduled to run long enough that this would be possible to do.
Wish you would've given us the chance to prepare a catalogue of questions for him ... :(

But good to see they seem to care a little bit at least.
Can anyone make out what's on the wall?

I'm guessing (hoping) someone from NCKorea who is actually able to make changes to the game beyond simple translations.

If so, tell him to check out the "Bot Monitoring Updates" thread (http://boards.lineage2.com/showthread.php?t=211720) to see how NCNA's pitiful "efforts" in combating 3rd party programs in has resulted in having to cave to the new status quo, whereby NCNA's banning policy had to be changed so as to not immediately ban such a degree of the remaining population post-merge that there wouldn't be enough people to justify maintaining even 2 servers.

Instead, a more lenient "warn-first" policy was put into place, and obviously has not affected 3rd party program usage, particularly for PvP, as witnessing any siege weekend will feature:

Auto-targetting programs - used to auto-target priority targets first (support classes like healers)/auto-target players who are attacking friendly healers first. All you'd need to do is /target a healer during siege, press attack, then watch as you immediately get debuffed/hated/focus-fired/target cancelled until you detarget the healer.

Auto-potion programs (not to be confused with Nostromo/G15 macro spam) - When your HP/CP gets below pre-set levels, the program will automatically spam whichever pots/recovery items you set it to spam until the stats meet pre-set conditions, after which the program will cease spamming whichever pots/recovery items you've determined.

Auto-buffing programs - When buffs are lost during PvP from attacks such as Cancel, Touch of Death, crits from Hero Weapons, etc. or when debuffs are applied, such as Seal of Limit, auto-buffing programs used by support characters (healers, buffers) immediately apply whichever recovery spells necessary to compensate. Got crit by a Hero pole and lost your Chant of Movement, Chant of Blood Awakening, and Chant of Critical Attack? Your party's Doomcryer will immediately and automatically recast the lost spells.

Ant-Backstab - watch as Healers automatically turn towards Dagger classes upon the Dagger class touching their Backstab skill on the healer (even if the Dagger class is under the effects of Hide), thereby making Backstab ineffective and useless for PvP.

If there's any that I've forgotten (and there are many), refer to the "Bot Monitoring Thead" for the discussion.

While farming trains are mostly gone, it's automating PvP that's the problem, so don't go pointing at the farmer bans as evidence of something being done.

Also, tell him that this game has almost zero class balancing. While things may be played differently in Korea, we in the US/EU play with perfect parties for maximizing effect in PvP and/or PvE, which leads to many classes simply having no place in any party. Letting NCNA make core changes to the game according to US/EU player feedback would be ideal, but as I know that has no chance of happening, tell him that we in the US/EU need our concerns and suggestions met, not just "heard" and thrown away in lieu of Korean tastes.

If this isn't just another standard "I was there for one day, proving that I checked in with NCNA to show that NCKorea cares about NCNA L2 players" visits, go ahead and tell him that I'm Korean if it helps to get him to listen.

Oh [a structure that is used to hold back water]!!!!

Ok.. here is my guess.

1 - Guy in the chair is the guy in the middle is that of the pic that PuKaS posted.
2 - The woman standing up... is the head marking person at NCNA and for the life of me I can not remember her name.
3 - the guy sitting next to the woman in the back left I believe is HGMWill of L2

So.. what do I win beside a court order telling me that I need to keep at least 500 feet way...

Also... when will the vid of the interview be posted?

Does all "chinese" ppl wear glasses?

Does all "chinese" ppl wear glasses?

As you can tell from the High Five Epic Quest, which is all about books and libraries, Koreans are a very bookish people. This has been objectively proven by the latest Programme for International Student Assessment:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Programme_for_International_Student_Assessment#200 9

Asians have on average a far higher reading comprehension than Americans and most Europeans. This is because they read a lot. Reading ruins your eyes. Don't do it! ;)

Add 1 layer
5/8 GWB

GWB could stand for great white bucket, or in a more macabre setting, geek with beard. Or really it could be something simple as ground window bar :)
Uhm i dont think its anybody special Why would you bring him too such an location lol. I think he about too be PKed/DODed/backstab/critwounded/rushimpacted.

Makes me curious, why does NCSOFT need offsite locations . Are we gonna get a roleplaying even soon ?

Thanks, I was curious because I knew it was a construction term.

5/8GWB means it's a 5/8ths inch Gypsum Wallboard.
Hmmm ... Yoko Ono?
Guess who...

It's the farmer money collector of course.... wait, that was Richard Garriott.

Any update on this? :)

You've all already guessed it, it is Steve Chae, the Lineage II Director of Development! :) (Steve is his English name.) That's all I can say about it right now, but we'll have more news to show you next week.

Is it possible you explain what is the work of a Director of Development ? I'm not familiar with english names for works, so I would like to know more about the role of this man :)

Aw, and I was sure it was Yoko Ono. ;)

Director of Development is sort of financial guy responsible developing and implementing strategic plans so the company could earn money, raise funds etc and NOW THAT'S IS INTERESTING! Interesting because it means some financial changes are coming.

If you remember last years Q2 report they said they are going to implement NC Coin for L2 so I bet my money on this. 50 mil Adena on Naia:D Any1 taking bet?

It depends on the institution. In this case it could be more of a creative development, in which case it's more of a producer position.

Those titles constantly change (while the job basically remains the same). In November "Steve" Chae Gi-byeong's original title was <리니지 2> 개발실 실장 resp. 开发室室长. He is the director of the complete Lineage 2 Development Department, including Artwork, Combat Design, Business Planning etc.
Just call him "The Boss" :D

ok.... is it only me, but I have a weird feeling that Steve Chae is already posting on the forum using a "normal account"....

There have been a few posts that also started about the same time that he arrived in the USA... that seem a little off.

/why yes, my tin foil hat fits a little tight today.

As far as I know, Steve did a few seconds apparition in the Lineage 2 High Five video :)

Yep but I am sure, he didn't travel a long way just to be 3seconds in trailer about High Five ^^
The more info to show is this, our High Five podcast video. This is what we were filming when the photograph was taken, and that's why this thread is in the High Five section.

Mr. Chae visited us mostly to talk about Goddess of Destruction, but also to meet the teams, talk about High Five, and learn about Western players' style, likes, dislikes and concerns. I really cannot give any more info about his visit (it's confidential) but Mr. Chae did do interviews with two big MMO websites. Once those are published I'll link them to you all.

First time Korea asking what Western players like/dislike in 6 years?

<posting with seeing what Sace edited in phoenixdown post>

Good to see that he came out... (ok.. only one visit in six years... lol..... ) but please pass along (and I think I speak for everyone) that he comes to the NCNA offices more often to see how the NCNA plays L2 vs NCK so that both markets get what they want.

Actually, NCsoft West didn't move to Seattle until 2009ish. :p It was the first time he came to Seattle.

We like what they like :) If lineage or any game was made towards the 'sterotype western attitude', they wud be naff and like all the other lame eq/wow mmo out there :p
*cough* aion *cough*

...but its good to know we're thought of :) And there might be tweaks/differences that could be beneficial to us with lineage, but ya I think generally the ppl that like lineage like it for same reasons koreans do.

Very good news, Sace!
I want to link here my topic-petition I've made for our Community http://boards.lineage2.com/showthread.php?p=3048509#post3048509. It is about Western players' style, likes, dislikes and concerns - can't say even better.

I hope Mr. Chae, Mr. Jae Hyuk Han will take it into account - it shows some important aspects of Western and Russian communities game style ...
Here's the link (http://www.tentonhammer.com/lineage2/interviews/high-five) to one of the interviews that Mr. Chae did, this one is for TenTonHammer. There are two more interviews that should be posted soon, each one with different questions and answers.

Not bad, but we need more info. I'll tie him down and make him use tiger summon scrolls until he breaks ;)

Btw, I trust that some of our concerns were relayed to him about the GOD update <3

your petition has a whopping 27 replies and 5 posts are from you. not much of a petition. imo you should wait till you have some real info before you jump to conclusions.

That sounds like exciting stuff !! I can't even begin to tell you how much I am loving being back in Lineage 2. I don't think even NcSoft realizes themselves this game has the potential to be one of the biggest come backs in mmo history!!
Nice iterviews, but we need more concrete info about middle (and especially middle) to long term plans for NA/EU. Any updates on PvP program users being banned, or micro-transaction system within next few weeks? Thanks :)
