Beginning last year (http://boards.lineage2.com/showthread.php?t=207587), we began to encourage players to follow us on Twitter, where we post updates about news and the game on a regular basis. We also sometimes post free serial codes! Sign up to get free stuff! :)

When we post a serial code, we will also update this thread with a "Tweet!" Things you can win include:
Sayha's White Mask.
Gran Kain's Black Mask.
Codes differ between North American and European account types; the code type will be specified in the image tweeted.
The first person to use the serial code wins, so follow us closely and be fast!

I thought that the majority of players has static IP, even for my town in middle Russia dynamic IP is not normal. I mean usually only ADSL users have it.

Nice try, but still useless. Even TERAonline already has 3800+ followers, which L2 is not going to achieve without doing real advertising for the game.
You don't need to work at marketing/advertising to realise this isn't a good advertising model, won't get you new customers, and won't give anything to existing customers.
Massive internet adds, articles in gaming sites/magazines, advertising in game stores, tv adds, those should be your pillars for bringing new people into the game.
In-game live events like treasure/gm/special boss hunts, giving a gift to everyone who participates, and a nice gift to a korean random.
would be good if the sites that are hosted by NCSoft doesn't take 10 minutes to load. tracert doesn't reveal any problems with the connection to the servers, so it must be the web-server that is having some issues.
What about distance? If server is in NY in USA (e.g) and you are from Russia (e.g) you will always have loading-issues, even with NASA computers as Web-Servers :]

Ever heard of server response time mister "I'm so smart"?
Ping towards the web server is 150-180ms, but the server itself isn't responding making the browser time out.
Then why is it affecting only NCSoft's sites (all of them) and no other sites anywhere in the world? I can browse sites hosted nearby NCSoft, I can play games lagg free that are hosted nearby.
But I can't visit this site 90% of the time because it times out and I need to play the game through a proxy because it's not responding if I use my regular IP.
I even tried connecting through my phone (different ISP and IP) with the same result, no response from any of the servers hosted by NCSoft.
speedtest.net and pingtest.net also don't report any problems when ever I run tests to locations nearby NCSoft's servers.
It's definitely not the 1st time the net ops at NCSoft fail at their job and it will certainly not be the last time.

Let's watch the facebook the number between of WoW and L2 liker peoples isn't too big, but here plays 30k peoples there plays 3 millions (now I don't count the Asian countries, because they not really use these sites). Anyway the Lineage 2 Russia has 2800+ members so together 3400+ it isn't big difference.
Well, I'm Lineage II player, but I not really know what is the "twitter" I only know, that it is a website, but nothing interesting on it boring design thats all. I really don't know about it nothing.

We are never happy, no matter what complaints about free stuff being given away. Next we will have someone QQing about how unfair it is that L2 is in color and those that are color blind can't enjoy the game like others and it should now be a black and white game.

i could just turn on this little program that'll auto copy paste and submit for the tweet giveaway... faster than any human possible...
So if something i REALLY wanted came up.... aside from fighting other automated scripts and hoping my internet connection and computer is faster at submitting it..... there is utterly zero need for human interaction at all..
And frankly this is what is wrong with the system.
The captcha system is a better step.. but still not perfect.

I think, the challenege to be fast enough is much better than get a mask (what is probably can't be traded) by cheating.
Well the challange atm mostly involves people.. but i already know that scripted programs to do the task has already been used.
I'm not sure how often sace takes a look at the post time of the tweet with the code and then looks at the activation of it and figures that a near less then second time period seems a little on the fast side.
Micro seconds for it is quite obvious.
But it's frankly impossible to determine if a script or program is doing it because there is a way to setup intented delays to make it seem more "human" yet fast enough to guarantee being faster. Specially if someone manages to do it repeatedly... but knows enough to make the delays different each time. (clear and precise patterns are not forgiveable)

Events, bug fixes, webpage updates and more are all things that we are working on. Rest assured that running Twitter giveaways, forum games and other minimal effort community-building mini-events are not causing any delay on the stuff you want to see happen. If those things were all one-person jobs that I could do by myself, I would certainly make them happen sooner, but the Twitter giveaways would still happen regardless. It's entirely voluntary, but no one can say that free stuff is bad.

No worries, once GoD releases you can switch to a valued Dark Elf like Storm Screamer, Ghost Sentinel, Ghost Hunter, Spectral Dancer, Shillien Templar or even a Spectral Master. After that you will be able to get more groups and not be threaten by what others do with their money and free time.

Dracha is very proud to use boxes and has mentioned many times that he is in full agreement with their use. The fact that Dracha uses his boxes (by his/her own words in several of his/her posts) not just in the game but also in the forums to gain more "bonuses" is something I don't agree with.
Sace knows Dracha because he's a player that very often posts in the forums. This is why Sace noticed that Dracha had previously gained the forum bonus...

Ever since I got my Moirai, I've been waiting for a chance. Sadly, I'm usually at work when they go out. But fortunately, today was my half-day, so I got lucky.

Now, the question is: do you try and someone has already used the code, or does it just say you are not eligible?
The Account Information Page states clearly that I'm unable to use ANY code (GTC, Promo or anything) that is not from my CD-Key region. That's how a NA player can't use a EU code for mask i.e.
And my CD-Key is from Latin America region, since NC Soft got a partner here and don't want to sell NA CD-Keys...
That's also why I have to buy GTCs from the same retailer every 2 months, since they don't have subscription.
Recently we had problems, you were giving away 5-day codes but using a serial codes was disabled for Lineage 2 accounts. On 23th, after the account system maintenance, there was an option to "Exchange" them "for NCCoins", but after some time it has been disabled. Someone said the blockade will be removed on 28th November and it seems to be for perks, the US black mask code "has already been used.". But what about game time cards? (they should give 40 coins for each day, so 200 coins for 5 days)

One of the main purposes of the Twitter giveaways is to boost Twitter followers, hence giving incentive for creating a Twitter account in order to get a free permanent item. We have a very healthy Facebook population, and it's possible we will do giveaways for Facebook in the future as well.

'Tweeting' means using Twitter to post short comments or announcements, or follow other peoples' Twitter feeds, such as ours. You can do this through any browser by visiting the Twitter website. (the Lineage II Twitter site is linked in my signature) You don't need a smart phone to do it. Regarding the tweets and giveaways, we have currently run out of codes but we are hoping to get some more in the new year and resume giveaways then. Once this gets back into operation we'll post about it to let you know. :)
