All servers will be down for emergency maintenance on Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at 1:30pm PDT / 3:30pm CDT / 4:30pm EDT / 8:30pm UTC/GMT. Estimated downtime is approximately 1 hour.
They didn't know how to tell the server maintenance was tomorrow, not today. Next week they'll convince it to do maintenance 4hs later than today, and so on, until the scheduled maintenance
We used that word because, at the time, we weren't certain how soon we would take down the servers. Just now, we announced in-game that it will be in 15 minutes. "Momentarily" isn't so bad; would you prefer "soon" or "shortly"? ;)
i would prefer to know why its going down and like server down in 30min:) most time i think you guys know server maintrance beside server crash like 30min before:)

I think its great that the GMs have been helping out with GM buffs and VIT refill lately. TY Sparse and everyone else for GM buff and VIT before the servers went down! :)
also what about the ppl who are in game and dont read forums? the read server message and think they have to log out immediatly...
What difference does it really make? She just said they weren't sure at first, so they went with momentarily. It's an NcSoft wide main't, so obviously the L2 team isn't calling the shots on when to bring them down. If you're that addicted then you could have just kept going until you saw the countdown timer.

Thank you for feedback in regards to the way we have announced this maintenance. I hope Sace's information has clarified the times for you specifically. The second and third in-game announcements gave players a proper time frame for when the server was to come down. I think it will be okay. :)

Yeah, it's unfortunate but you cant please 100% of the people 100% of the time. That's life for you. D: GMs doing a great job lately. (As compared to several years back)

sadly but I have to agree :) and don't tell me the today server crash was link to the other games of NCsoft.. I'm still looking for vitality/buffs after restart plz ! :)

I hate all of you, if that helps anyone to feel better about things. Not to single anyone out, just spreading the hate. If all of the L2 players in the world concentrated hard enough and hated all at once, that hate could reach across space and extinguish the sun.

It's just free buffs and some vitality, not an OE'd S84 wep give away lol. People being so demanding about something as small as GM buffs is the pinnacle of absurdity imo.
They did give people a chance to get there before restart. GM Sparse was at Aden GK giving them out. Even the heroes were shouting :P Sorry you didnt pay attention~

we RELY on proper communication from u guys..... I mean why even log in if u cant RELY on the fact that it will be working when they say it will be working?
errors happens I know that trust me... Its just that if its not one thing its another... im starting to fell like i dont like playing this game the way ncsoft is running the store ne more...
I as well as others I'm sure would greatly appreciate vitality and GM buffs after the servers are brought back up so that those of us who were not on when servers went down but now have been sitting staring at a useless log in screen for the past 30-45min can benefit from the emergency maintenance compensation as well :) Thank You.:D

It would be very helpful if they could do the vit and gm buffs like they did a few times, in all towns at once from the gk :D If that isn't possible then do the buffs at fantasy isle, a simple scroll and 1 port for most everyone. I know a lot of people have dc's on soe and porting (me included) so the quicker we can get somewhere without multiple ports, the better :)
and make a little world announcement by gm every few minutes or so that buffs are being given (where and for how long). Can't always count on hero's or even believe them sometimes :p

Maybe someday NC Soft West will think about EU players and not make restarts in olympiad time. It was for sure possible to wait 1 hour more.

i think i might start using 15 day time cards and only renew my account just before gm buffs are given out, play for the 4 minutes i have songs/dances, then log out again

It is very unlikely you can ever please everyone, but you should still always strive to get as close as possible. Some companies do that well, some don't seem to care, NCSoft being in the latter category.
for the love of God some of you people QQ to much and clearly have never worked in IT before. Stuff happens, and trust me the actual people running the machines (regardless if it is L2, bank website, etc) do not like to take a system offline outside of a scheduled maintenance period.

pff u broke my best playing time say we make mainance and give some vita buff i cant even take cause of lags and so on and u say that ohh sry maintance was shorter we will give vita buffs in random towns .... u just waste my time ,,,,
