vitality and leveling-god

Vitality is now issued to each account instead of each character.

All characters of an account created in the same server share Vitality points.

Players receive 300% Exp. and SP while they have Vitality points remaining.

Monsters hunted while there are Vitality points remaining can drop "Weapon

Pouch", "Armor Pouch", and "Enchant Pouch".

Vitality points are reset during the regular server maintenance every week.

Players are limited to five vitality items (recovering, maintaining, replenishing items, etc.) each week.

Birthday Cakes are not considered as vitality items that have a weekly limit

Hunting raid monsters no longer gives Vitality points.
Vitality does not increase when the character is in a Peace Zone or has logged out.

Vitality herbs are no longer dropped in the field.

The current recommendation system remains unchanged. However, daily deduction has been reduced from 20 to 5.

Deleted Nevit's Blessing system. The effects of items used in the Nevit's Blessing System are changed as follows:
Nevit's Hourglass: Increases Exp. bonus by 50% when used.
Nevit's Voice: Increases Recommendation value by 10 and gains 100,000 Adena when used.
Priest of Blessing no longer spawns.
Nevit's Advent Blessing effect has been deleted.

so i whant to ask gms here, every week we limited to use 5 of them?
and if yes why this limit?
If I remember it well, vitality will no longer be decreased with xp gained, but with time.
So you gain for example 15 hours of 300% bonus exp every week, arent 5 items enough? Its only anti-bot system as I see it. No human could use more.
i see ppls xping 5+ hours non-stop and manny much more in x2 xp etc so its not wise to
compare ppls playing style every1 have diffrent...

and about bots i dont see them alot time now and its good, but this is for another topic

That is a false information and should be removed from the preview site. Vitality will, as before, be decreased with xp gained, and not with time:

At level 99 your weekly allotment of Vitality will last for about 4 hours of serious AoEing:

thx Yidao
Always a pleasure :)
So we don't get 20 hours of vitality a week anymore?
No :)

@ Sace:
As you can see, people still seem to have problems accepting the facts. I really think you should remove that bit of misinformation from the preview site :)
If this is true its a horrible mistake that NCsoft made. I was looking forward to 20 hours of vit. On the other hand I was also afraid that the game would be too easy now so I guess those fears can be put aside...
It's not necessarily a mistake that NCsoft made. I can not imagine that their translators take hallucinogenic drugs during working hours. Those "20 hours of Vitality a week" must have been in the Korean text they were working with. You can't misunderstand a number like "20". The main problem here is that those are really really old texts. Even in the first PTS phase kwondoh did not lose any Vitality when he went sightseeing for hours on end, which proves that you really must kill monsters to lose Vit.

We all appreciate the effort NCsoft puts into that preview site, and nobody demands that they replace the error with a detailed explanation of the new Vitality System. For that there is a dedicated PowerWiki article:
http://power.plaync.co.kr/lineage2/%ED%99%9C%EB%A0%A5
Just change "20 hours of Vitality a week (shareable across your characters)" to "Vitality shareable across your characters". A few clicks with the "Delete" key and the problem is solved :)

As far as the leveling speed is concerned, that will still be quite fast. Most of the regular posters on the Korean forums are now, 1 1/2 months after GoD went live, around lvl 90. And those are the people who take the time to post, i.e. not really hardcore players :p

Ok that still is a lot better though than my worst nightmares which were 85->99 in 2 weeks...
I think its more like 12-24 months for NORMAL, AVERAGE player.
At least something to do :D
Okay - this may be a bit off-topic (and Drack will say I'm compainin' again), but....

Why can't we share Vitality items across characters in the same account now? It would:

A) be a HUGE boost to player inolvement - a LOT more players would play, and play for much longer periods of time - if knew we would game more xp during our time

B) help us get to Level 85 by GoD - this would really help, and seems it might be relatively easy to implement

C) make much better use of those Vitality Items that we have just sitting there on our alt characters on same account

D) By getting more players to play more often (remember how many ppl were on during double xp events - especially that first week, when we still had Vitality items?!?!), it would help get / retain players for L2 in preparation for GoD

E) Allow us to make much better/more effecient use of play time when we do have more double xp weeks. It sucks when you're vitality is down to almost zip after two hours - still not a lot of incentive, versus being able to use Vitality items

F) Would be much easier than giving out new Vitality items (NCSoft must have already figured how to share these across alts with GoD)

G) It just makes sense! Like others have said - why not make the game more rewarding, thus more fun to play be letting us use the Vitality items we already have but can't use. Making the game more fun during the time we have to play = many more players playing (and mabye staying) with L2 as GoD approaches.

I still don't get it - if it's easy to do - it seems to be such a simple fix to help players out [especially those of us playing say only 10-20 hours per week] to have more fun, and feel that they are making progres when they do have time to play.

If you can make a relatively simple change (which will already be implemented in GoD - in who knows how many months from now), that will SIGNIFICANTLY increase enjoyment and thus playtime for customers - why not do it?

If NCSoft wants the game to really succeed, and flourish, this seems to be a great way to improve the fun factor - and get more players playing!

To me - it seems so simple, like telling someone 1 + 1 = 2 (use of vitality items + greater interest/rewards in game = more players playing), I don't get why NCSoft doesn't implement such a great way to increase the "fun factor" and significantly increase business, to make L2 a much more viable business venture before GoD hits?

So simple it seems - and a great solution to one of the biggest concerns players wanting to get to 85 in prepareation for GoD (and not have to wait months and months to use these Vitality items that we already have but can't really use to get our main to Level 85).

yidao dont forget that korean ppls play a difrent game us we play

Since many people claim the original korean has no mention of the number 20 anywhere it can't really be the Koreans fault. But it doesn't matter WHOs fault it is anyway - it's still quite bad to post something in the official list of major features, which then turns out wrong later on and has to be corrected...

But as I said - I personally don't even care so much about it. I don't want 85-99 to take only 2 weeks.

That being said I could still imagine that the 20 hour thing might be a special setting for our market and remain true.

i dont think ncwest post smthg that dont exist!! or they make it from their mind, they take the infos from korean

I am willing to bet our hardcode "players" will be level 99 in that time.

The problem here is the time factor. What existed half a year ago does not exist any more :)

Let me give you a different example. In the "Media" part of the Summoner description on the preview site you can see a picture of armored cats:
http://www.lineage2.com/gd/classes.html#summoner
This picture was not painted by Sace but it came directly from Korea. It was on the official NCKorea preview site. This picture is authentic, officially sanctioned propaganda material.

BUT, this was more than half a year ago. In the meantime the armored cats have been scrapped. You can see the servitors a Summoner will have in GoD here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f86S7-KkG8I
Cute Bear, Saber Cougar, Grim Reaper. No armored cats.

No one says that NCWest is not preparing their preview site with due diligence. But all that effort is only good for one week at most. On every Wednesday (patch day in Korea) the posted information must be reviewed and updated.

On the Korean preview site every article had a date in the headline, so people could tell what was fresh and more or less accurate, and what was older. It would be really good if Sace or whoever handles that could add the date of the Korean files the translators were working with (not the date when the translation was posted!) to each class, hunting ground etc.
And I would add a huge disclaimer at the top of the page, directly under "Goddess of Destruction":
"Everything written here is wrong. If you choose to believe anything you see, you will lose all your possessions and die a horrible death."

In the background i see the cat that i see in video from korea u post it about in the fotos i see a dwarf summoner with the cats u mention and the difrence is
the background foto is from in game cupture
and the fotos are from Digital Arts
u cant compare them........
but ofc yes ur point is corect here ,like they take the fotos from an early development design
but...

post is from (dagga) from another post

A friend that can read korean told me :

NCsoft make change on class every maintenance since GoD live , like recently they have change cast spd of some skill.

They work hard to balance pvp / pve same if its now live .

That mean thats lot of thing can change again.

If they change at every maintenence something , its 4 - 5 change by month . We will have GoD in 2 - 3 month so there will have lot of thing changed.

development still continue in korean so our ncsoft have nothing to do with it as i say before
