Actually, Sace said they would open a thread to discuss the PTS settings in time, and also informing what can and can't be done with the said settings... So, if it's not the date to announce dates like when the thread goes live, when PTS starts and when it ends, it got to be something else...
Maybe the walkthrought Sace said they would provide us? Maybe some more especific info, like Reuse times for skills?

My suggestion.... Run for your life! The combine might of zombie elpy and crazy dire wolves can be too much to bear, even for all of the level 85s.

Not sure what it is but I hope it is something interesting.Both of my accounts are expiring in 2 days and tbh wasnt really feeling like activating untill reading this.I may keep one up to see whats going on or else I dont like the game as it is atm.(pvp cheats at this update really ruined the game for me and no actions have been taken yet as it is promised)But anyways I can waste another 15$ :)
PS:Maybe they finally decide to remove gameguard from game and use something really block all 3rd programs.That would be the biggest news for me :)
Well we all know GoD is coming this fall, so it's no surprise if it was even announced on the 5th of oct. I think it may be a little something else on top of a launch date.
They will update the official website. No I'm joking, it can't be possibly as up-to-date as unofficial websites. Official staff can't have all the information that players can gather.
It's most probably the announcement that they developped a GoD' (GoD prime) where we keep all the current classes and they all get new skills specific to their role.
I hope they whon't go f2p as it is in Russia. Game is totaly spoiled. Ppl use so much real money ig, that it rules everything. Its good for business, but not too good for game, specialy for those, who can't afford it. But mb it will bring some more ppl in, but i doubt it. I would shurely get myself another acc for a buffer, since i don't have one.
Powerwiki would be AWESOME ! Even without drop rates, its still an acurate database and atleast ppl can know where to get a thing they need and whon't have to look for the info from unnoficial sites.
Oh, would be good, if they could put couple new services. Like transfer between servers :) On 1 account. And a doubling thing on acc. Like double exp, drop events without nevit. For 15 days, a month.

Lvl 95 seems to be some kind of breakpoint - until then everything goes fine, but from 95 onwards the problems start. Quests don't work, Tyr Warriors are at a serious disadvantage. If you just promote the Awakening quest, there will be a lot of wailing and gnashing of teeth after a few weeks on live when ex-Duelists etc. realize that they should have used the Stone of Destiny and rerolled to Feoh Wizard. But by then there will be no way back.

That sounds like a problem for all the people who play a specific class only because it's strong. They should be using a class because they like the playstyle, not just because it can beat everyone else.
wrong example as ur like me a bard and Enchanters have nothing close to the same play style as bards.. the difference is that much fail most bards I know reroll or have already quit so go figure.. I love my SwM very much but this change in play style will make me quit or reroll as well.. PTS will be a breaking point in that decision.
needless to say there will be many people testing all classes in this PTS as things will be significantly different.. and Yidao is right to warn folks that a class might seem ok at lvl 85 as awakend but like his example of Tyr warriors it's very true that after lvl95 those will struggle hard compare to other classes..

A lot of you have been playing MMOs for a long time. You should know how this goes by now. Nothing lasts forever. Personally, I'm going to try to find either whichever class is the worst, and play as that. Or whatever class is always needed by parties, but not enough people play as. Or maybe I'll just be a Tyr Warrior. I can live with being level 95 for awhile.
What's the problem about lvl 95 Tyrr Warriors ? Can someone explain ?
at first times peoples told, that the Tyr Warriors were weaker than the Feoh Wizards after lvl 95 as I heard. But NCKorea constantly patching, updating, adding new skills, quests etc. on every weeks. So maybe this problem already solved.
But also we could met the fact many time in the Lineage 2, that in 1-1 update some classes was better than the others. example in Kamael update the kamael classes, in the C4 the Necros, in the C5 the archers so, I think useless talk about worst and best classes.

Strength is added the final blow fell monster with death leads.Upon successful completion of the monster will be 1 HP, PVP does not apply when the skill is. Monster's HP is available at less than 20%. . Sword / Mace / windows / Fighting Weapon / Dual blunt/ Dual Swords can be used for equipment.
When we know that mob have over 300k hp it can be not so bad.
Let us just remember that the announcement will be on the GD preview site, so I guess it would have nothing to do with F2P or GameGuard change, since this kind of stuff should be announced in the official website, for it would affect the game in a major way.

Intelligence tells me that on the 5th of October they either launch the GoD PTS (suddenly!) or triumphantly announce its launch date (as in "Soon").
Or maybe they are going to implement the item mall and microtransactions (same as in Korea).
Clearly we are all waiting for NCsoft to ask us more money for content that should be ingame already, there's a higher priority than removing PvP cheaters as part of the service we've been paying for years.

even though technically it's already the 5th, i think they mean following maintenance.
this event has been announced before october 5th.
therefore it is not the big announcement that has been foretold.
however, to avoid confusion, maybe they should have announced this event sooner?
i'm actually a little disappointed in the players who are so up in arms about this aden archives event.

You know, the best lie is the truth. So, if staff isn't ready to "launch the news", i think is better to say what was the big surprise even doesn't work and give an estimated time when they will be ready. This will be OK for everyone.
I would hope they would launch pts or maybe goin live instantly. This would be big! But i think the launch will delay for sometime more, and more and more players quit or only waiting for the new launch.
Or if they would like more acitivity on server, let the server have double xp until pts comes. Ive only seen alot of acitivity during this double xp weeks. When it goes back to normal, acitivity drops.

We already enjoyed magic of waiting for GoD for quite long time I would say :)
PTS will be larger than former ones. Don't expect PTS to last only one or two weeks this time.
I bet the "Big News" are the thread for voting PTS Settings, as we were told there would be one, along with PTS and Live dates.

Also the classes are only about 30% of the change... There are levels up to 99, new places and mechanics... Dual-Class... All 6 races with personal skills and stats to test along with the 4th Classes... All the way up from level 1 to 99 is new and quest based (finally)... jumping and new mounts... A LOT of raids... Siege, TW and clan wars...
You see, there's a hell lot more than just 8 classes to test...
I doubt our PTS deployment will be to test gameplay. That would have been done much more in Korea. I expect out PTS deployment to be more about localization and test running the deployment itself. I wouldn't think it would take much more time than usual.
But either scenario is likely and going live with GoD in 4 weeks rather than 2 wouldn't be surprising. But then, why not keep the Aden Archive contest running 4 weeks instead of 2.

Didn't like what you wrote here... Casuals may be good enough to indeed reach level 99 until the next patch...
I'm Casual and if I began playing a little before H5 patch I would be 85 by now... It's more about having friends in game to level with you and help you to keep up... (Ain't talking about sharing here)
And NC Soft can't make differences between Casual or Hardcore... For them we are costumers, either playing 8 or 80 hours a week...

Anyway, there are a lot of things that can surprise us like:
- personalized l2 signature like you see mine in xfire where you can see total playtime, pvp/pk status, lvl, etc
-an video streaming server with olympiad matches/sieges/tw
- ipad/iphone application designed to chat (at least) with people online in game from clan/ally
- multirecipient text message in game to not type same message for 8-9 people
...and more.
But probably even i post these in right area, there will be no changes; but hope die last.

Too much expectation and curiosity will mostly lead to disappointment because, inside your brain, you are actually waiting for Rainbow kittens riding unicorns while eating Nutella in Strawberry poptarts with an Emerald Sword as a knife.
But you will still feel bad even if it just misses that by the Emerald Sword part or just by the poptart flavor.
