I think its great that there will be a new server....but I hope that doesnt hurt Chronos as it has been so much fun seeing Talking Island as well as other dead places alive and thriving...so does the new server put an end to that? Seems like a two-edged sword kind of thing

As the new server will most liekly be slammed, I bet people will also attend Chronos to avoid the rush, and there are also players who will join it out of ignorance, and those looking to get boosts from their friends with existing accounts. It should server both servers, just Shilen more so. But hey, any business is good business

Would you rather have just our pitiful community that would have drove the game to non-existance?
The private server population that is merging into retail now are/will save this game for a few more years, so really.. put a sock in it and welcome them.
and judging by the influx of players and the fact that people can come in and leave at any time, there will be enough population to go around -- probably more than 3 servers.

Thats probably the best way to handle it. I dont think transfers should have been allowed ever. I know plenty of us forum regulars argued against them when the discussion was on the table. I say good work on that.

Free2Play would have been enough to bring tons of population from private servers as well as new players (as we've seen in your mentioned influx already - BEFORE new server announcement).

No-lifers will race to the top to ultimately bottleneck points of progression and control server. Above that, the sheer magnitude of people competing for hunting spots can make it virtually impossible to XP, especially for those who've never played before.

That could absolutely be true. I remember when RF online went free years ago. They added Somewhere between 6 and 10 servers if I remember correctly. Im sure we will get them as needed.
It'll be interesting to see how many people move off existing servers versus those joining Lineage II and going to Chronos or Naia. There are pros and cons to fresh servers and established ones, obviously ^_^

With all the other MMOs making Lineage take a back seat with their Instant Gratification approach to the market (which for the west market is successful sad to say) this game is lucky to have an influx of new players -

innova failed already in europe.yesterday on lineage2.com was 22k ppl looking on the forum,on innova 300.so this is a huge difference.

Pretty sure innova makes you pay extra for multi box, but it's free here.

I don't mean to be rude but isn't this a MMORPG game? It means you are NOT playing alone. You can always find more people to play with and join forces with (especially with this huge wave of players). If you are not new to L2 and know how to dualbox it probably means that you know how to find a group. Dual/multiboxing has always been a bullsh*t imo and it only ruins the game. With strong and healthy community you don't need a boxxed buffer.

Really don't see a point to open server with GMT-6. All events like olympiad, sieges will be at late night time for Europeans (opympiad 0:00 - 6.00 am, and so on). Means you dont want Europeans up there :/

I had predicted correctly that the pre-order promotion was just for luring new players to Naia and Chronos so all of my clanmates withheld the purchase.
Good luck with your ticket for refund although I am sure NCSoft won't do that. It was stated very clearly when you purchase the pack, that refund is not an option.

LOL As I recall to make an estimate there was around 40k users on the forums actively reading the forums. 20k are members, & another 20k users that are not currently members were reading the forums. So if the server cap is 6k yah one server is definitely not gonna be enough they will likely need another 5 or 6 servers.

We'll never know the exact limit. People speculate that the limit is between 5-7k players. If you're concerned about overfilled servers, they said they will monitor the amount of players and add more servers as needed.
Ugggh noooo this was exactly what I was not hoping for. For purely selfish reasons I did not want the new server to open now. I will be gone for the entire month of December. Oh I hope there is another new server around January. :(

I played long time ago in teon and franz servers without any server lags, but now i noticed that theres like 2 seconds delay when i play and that makes game really annoying (my internet connection is uber fast , same as my computer). I think the problem is that i'm from Europe (Lithuania), and thats far away from the U.S where the servers are based. Maybe u know any software or any other stuff which may reduce the server lag?Or maybe shillen wont have this lag (which i think it will, cause its in U.S also..). So if anyone have any ideas, please share. Thanks:)

Hi there, for your lag problem, you may want to try out Leatrix Latency fix first then followed by subscribe to BattlePing.
BattlePing is officially fine (coming from Sace). Here (http://boards.lineage2.com/showthread.php?t=210625&highlight=battleping) the link to Sace's post (post number 16)
I have no problem playing on Naia from Singapore ^^ (latency is around 200ms, very acceptable for an MMORPG).
Since the 3 servers are all in the US, you will see the same problem even in Shilen

Innova gets Europe and NCSFOT gets NA. Naia will most likely remain the only EU server managed by NCSOFT.

It sux for me too cuz i`m from EU and i have like 1 second delay in targeting and thats when i farm mobs, not to mention what will it be when i go to siege or wars!!!!! Now lets hope not to many ppl join Shilen and we can enjoy the server without to many delays.

NC have developed the tool to stop rangerbot in lineage 2 world?
If you visit clan foruns and lots of unoficial foruns you will see: "Banned in 6 days, ********"; "banned in 4 days, l2divine"; "banned in 8 days, *****". And you will see too, the current working bot in lineage 2 land: zranger. "I've put mine char to sell in ebay and leveling mine new toon 1>85 during this 2x event"; "I've leveling a new toon to 85/80/80/80 in this month, if you need the scripts to leveling I can sell it for you".
ATM the official boards rules don't permit show bot screenschots / bot vids. Maybe for this rule lots of players visit external foruns, where you can see bot and bots discussion, by players.
If you want sir GM I can send for you near 20 vids of bots and more than 100 screenshots of the "botland of lineage 2" / chronos server. I'll don't spend mine time send petitions, I've presset the button "bot report".

I'm not sure if i break the rules, but i have a question..
When i open the launcheri immediately gets an error which reads "The connection to the update server has been terminated." And next to the update lanes "Connection Failure Error Code = 10049".. Does someone know how to solve this problem?

Its not an error the God update is not rdy to be downloaded so it downloads the lates game (freya high five) keep an eye on the forums there will be tons of posts about the update being downloadable so just w8
When maintenance starts, you will open your current launcher and update the game. It will download the GoD. There is no other "version" of launcher.
And even if there was other version of the launcher, it usually updates itself when you start it lol

It's not that NCWest doesnt care about EU players, it's just that Innova and NCWest are 2 different business entities now.
Innova is allowed to take on EU market thus explained the moving of Naia to US, but you can see NCWest retains current EU players on Naia. So +1 for NCWest
Now, the exact operating model of these 2 entities is of course not available to the public but one can speculate that, we, the players can choose Innova/NCWest so there is no monopoly on either EU/NA. That's another +1
Looking at it carefully and you may see we gain more than lose.
I'm not siding with any side (players or any of the above company), but if the players always gain then how those 2 companies are gonna make profit?:cool:

Some ex-heroes and several good players/pvp'ers were my close friends that I brought from private servers . Who doesn't know 30+yo idiots acting like kids ingame , and 13+yo good new kids playing like a real clannie ?
Keep the server alive , bring a zerg , but keep L2 ON ^_^
