I dont know how this happened, but my Friend logged in today and both his characters were stripped of any adena he had, safe ~20k.
He says nothing else went missing, already wrote a support ticket and all, now i'd like to know if anyone else had problems like that in the last few days/weeks.
He didnt give out any of his account information to anyone, hes very secretive with these kinds of things.
Any information would be helpful and very much appreciated.

Remember to change your passwords for both your l2 account and nc account and please leave a message here to let others know there are more ppl with this problem.
Sounds like he had a weak password. It happens, and if someone logged into his account and took his adena, then there is nothing NCSoft can or will do.
Same thing happened to me, Gwaith. I'm sure I was robbed, 'cause I went AFK for a while at HotSprings and when I came back, I had disconnected. When I logged in, my char was at Gludio. I found that weird, and when I chcked my stuff, I had 10kk missing plus all my BSSA.

99.99999% of the cases where something goes mysteriously missing from an account it's either a keylogger or a friend/relative with access to the pc/account. Serious about the statistic btw, it is 99.99999%.

Did you check the persons sent mail tosee where all the items went too. My bd's accoutn was stripped just this past Saturday, all the items were sent to a toon named Aionling.

Same thing happened to me on my main account. It seems to be blocked now. I logged in and had a few characters missing all their gear, my destiny weapon, dynasty weapon some pots, 60m, etc, but not all my items were taken.

I'm losed ~7kk adena, and only just adena (my wh is "uninjured" too) nothing else. In summary i have a strong password, if sure i dont have virus/spyware etc, and only I know the password.

did you check your mailbox for mails you didnt send like the others? would be interesting to know if you had the same person visiting.

I can totally understand your raging, lets hope everyone gets their stuff back, no matter how slim the chances might be.

I have done scans on my PC, also i recently reformatted with a new build so i dont see where there could be an issue.
I think there is a problem and hopefully NCsoft will recognize it, solve it and return our items. Check your sent mail to see if Aionling was sent mail...

I received a response stating that my issue has been escalated to a senior GM, other than that i have not received anything. praying, hoping...apparently i am not the only one so there must be something wrong.
Waiting for a friend of mine to let me know about the progress on her support ticket - she got her support account cleaned up the same way. All 7 chars had in-game mails sent to Aionling... Only on Chronos, stuff on the same account in Naia wasn't touched.

Very good things to look for, i for one am really particular about what installs on my pc and always choose the custom install and always review what my browser is installing, i use Firefox as well (not that it matters), i am using AVG and scan regularly. This is a brand new build so i recently reformatted and installed L2 clean. this is only my perspective, the main thing is it is the same person that is gaining the items/adena. He/she is only after the high dollar items...most of my matts that are not of great value are still in my WH..adena, gear and all that is what they were after.
After the server maintenance when i logged in then i checked my eq and i had 0 adena...before that i had 8kk..nobody but me has access to my acc...so something is wrong

Happened to me too and I am normally pretty vigilant about keeping my user/pass secure.
All characters on all servers stripped of anything worth and almost all adena gone. The only char left with gear was my new one on Shilen, but all her money was gone. NC have been dealing with it since monday =/
Got a same thing, on my low lvl buffer aka WH, lost 33 mil adena, avadon robe set, dragon slayer +3, berserker blade +4 etc.
Password were pretty strong, no sharing, antivirus/windows up to date, plus I'm behind a properly setup router.
I know nothing is impossible to break, but since I take computer security pretty serious, I would go with NCsoft loosing their DB.

I bet my password wasnt the strongest, it also wasnt the weakest but i also used it for years without issues until the free to play happened. I missed L2 and wanted to return to some of the stuff that i missed. Now i can not enjoy any of it just like a lot of the others that have posted in here with the same issue. I can only hope that they get it resolved for us.

Nothing for me as of yet, its been 6 days. Someone mentioned it could take a month or longer.
so as of on hour ago I finally received a reply that said due to the volume of tickets, they are sorry for the wait, and to respond to the email if I had been waiting for a week or more, so that my ticket can be pushed ahead of the others. *sigh* we'll see :/
I have the same issue, my adena was stolen from all of my chars (on same account). And it doesn't end at that, also my 30-day limited armor set and weapons were deleted on one character, because they couldn't be just transferred or sent anywhere.... that isn't on the level of "theft" anymore... that's just hatred :(
But there was one happy end at this too, I got my money back on one of my characters. When I checked the sent mails, there was a mail going to character named "micoco", with the adena still in it. I managed to cancel the mail and got my money back. The armors and weapon are gone for good though =(

So far from all of mine friends, all 5+ years, haven't got 'hacked'
Sad practice shows that in 80% is just bad account sharing rest is mostly downloaded key-loger.

Recently I revived a LOT of mails about mine steam account and WoW account.
Title was always about possible compromised pwd.
I have no account there so I delete them even without looking at content.
Maybe some of you checked those mails and they you got something extra?
Still there is non 0% chance NC had problem in their DB.

You know as I play at Naia server 7+ year (almost from beginning of Teon) I have quite a lot of friends. Not that I party with them every day but I have contact with them using game chats or communicators.
I would say number is close to 100.
Ok now with 6000 ppl on Naia is not something spectacular but still seeing that massive information of hacked account, statistically some of them should be hit.
As I know them, scamming even 1 or 2 of them, would give bigger profit than remaining 4000 of server :D
So mine point is there is general diffrence in 'mine friends' and 'others'

And it's very possible that none of those 100-ish friends of yours got robbed, it's not such a huge chance that you can say "it'd be weird if none of them got hacked".

I logon last night and it seem I was missing some items, just a few mill of adena and all of my ssc. I know small things and easy to get the items back. But if there is something going on, then NC needs to know, even about the small stuff.
Never shared inlog info, and my acct is from open beta. I did check my ingame mail to see if anything was sent, and there was nothing. But it could have been deleted after it was sent.
I have had the same issue, but this issue did not occur until the game went Free 2 Play which is really odd. I found all my echanted armor gone off my main character, I checked my characters for sent mails and found nothing just most of my adena, and enchanted weapons gone.
The odd thing is that I did not play Lineage 2 for years and then finally I re sub 1 month before it goes F2P and start trying it out again, I was fine all the way until the game went F2P.
I did a KeyLogger scan with two different programs it found nothing.
So really I dont know obviously something wierd is going on otherwise someone would have logged into my account way earlier because it was inactive and they would have taken everything else from it earlier.

I contacted support in game, they told me to file a ticket, so I made an account with support, and I can't even get access to my support account because they never sent me my temporary password, so I filed a second ticket, and they have yet to respond to that ticket, or get back to me about restoring the characters which is wierd.

There have been throughout the years a bug in which the game would allow a user to login if a specific or somewhat incorrect password was used.
It was a very familare glitch that i don't think ncsoft ever fixed.
I know at one point any password ending in a number could be logged into even if the rest of the password was totally wrong and the last 2 digits were right. So in that case, a password 2 or 16 alphanumerical characters long, if the last 2 numbers are 11 or 99 or 12 or something. .and someone managed to type garbage after that, and it didn't even have to be the right length.. they could login.

Yes...actually my PW ended up with numbers. Changed it now along with my secret answers. However this is odd because I have 4 F2P accounts and only one got robbed. I'm keeping an eye on that specific account with a couple million adena on it and see if it's hacked again.

3- Keep your NCsoft Master Account and Game account passwords different
4- Change the password With a little bit of frequency
Also an Idea i'd suggest to keep items safe would be to create a lvl1 Char with like 22chars login/pw combination and mail/trade him your stuff.

Too bad NCSoft doesn't allow specials characters and $ymbols to be used when making a password. And the maximum password length is 13 characters.
Been 3 weeks so far for me. First reply I got was that they were escalating my ticket to a senior member, 2 weeks after that I got a mail that I assumed was mass mailed to all (who had issues) saying they were sry for the inconvenience and delay, but they were busy with the successful launch of GOD ftp, if I still had a issue I was to reply to the msg saying that yes, i indeed had a issue, and they would bump my ticket to the front ..... and yet here I am, still missing all my gear and adena. oh.. and asking for any updates? no replies at all. not even a little "please be patient" reply.
Same thing happened to a clanmate of mine. Totally stripped of all but his Dynasty fortune set. Dunno what or how, but I'm pretty sure he's as legit as I am. He made a petition about it and NC is still busy with it.
To help him out I dropped him 10K SSS and 500K to get started again. Lets hope NC can track this one down...

With all the people getting hacked it's clearly because of the Path to Awakening website and it being an unsecured site, and that explains why it's mostly newer people getting hacked. While I'm not new and my main account got hacked it makes sense because I've been leveling a bunch of diff characters and using the Path site a bunch and boom, I wake up one day and my 250m+ and gear is all gone from my main account. I already have a ticket going through so hopefully they restore my stuff. I forgot to add that I don't share my info or visit other L2 sites besides Rochand and that was before GoD. I run FireFox with noScript and my computer scan turned up nothing like always, it's clearly not a keylogger.

This is the one I got and its different then yours LOL? Didnt ask for a physical address.
I would suggest making a dummy account to store everything on. when you go to claim items off awakening site make sure your account has nothing on it,claim and change the password after you do it. The fact the servers are full will protect you some,but looks like at night hours when the server slows down is when it's happening.

The private communication was removed, as posting private communications between staff and players is against the forum rules. Every case is different and players receive different, customized responses, may be asked different questions, and may see a different result depending on the situation.
The given timeframe is not a deadline, it simply means we may send a customer support feedback survey as if the ticket were closed. If the player doesn't respond within the timeframe the ticket does not close; you can reply whenever you are able to.
All of the questions asked (CD keys, account name, etc-- the questions may differ for different players) are required for account ownership verification; once the user proves ownership beyond any doubt, the support team can proceed with helping them with their account issue.

It was over a year ago, but now there is a lot more ppl. And most are new to the "real L2" and fall for the easy hacks/scams (so to speak). More ppl + same number of ppl at NC support = longer weight time for an answer for help.
I think most most people in general would like to know if the **** or keylogger came from official site and or Path to Awakening etc.
hacker wouldnt put a keylogger on the site when they could get that what they need from hacking into the database.

Have a lot of trouble believing the innocence of people here considering I've never heard of anyone having this problem without running the risks already mentioned. However, I feel I must say something.
First off, please stop using the word 'hacker' in regards to injections / password breaking, that is cracking. Hacking is an entirely different thing, with it's general focus on exploits. Keyloggers and the such is cracking. Sorry if that comes off rude; I don't intend to chastise you, I'm just being blunt.
However in regards to SQL injection -- any direct changes would be pretty clear, it's an obvious closed case. Most of the data should be encrypted/hashed, especially the passwords anyway. So they wouldn't be able to just grab the information. Without proper understanding of the salt or whatever techniques used, it's highly unlikely to provide any useful information unless they're using MD5 or some gimp algorithm.
Further more, injecting a key logger (Which I'm highly doubting without NCSoft noticing and squashing the issue promptly however) would be generally silent, and once an account was hacked -- it wouldn't be clear who was at fault. Keylogging is obviously illegal, but NCSoft wouldn't know if that was the case given it's silent nature.
From what I can gather, however I haven't checked really, the site seems fairly secure. But given I don't have access to the server side code, I couldn't tell ya -- and I haven't really browsed the client side source code either. I'm not really concerned about it.

You know with such discussion about hacking accounts I become a bit paranoid.

I have at home 5 laptops ( 2 company once), 4 PC.
I have mine 2 local networks, print server, etc.
Due to security I have quite strict rules.
No-one use admin account, all accounts pwd protected and set as standard user.
I have hardware firewall at gate to Internet.
All PC/laptops have AV + AV from M$ + M$ Firewall active.
All PC are up to date.
Sounds fair?
I do rescan all PC/laptops quite regularly ..
Roughly each month I got virus found in browser cache: 1-2 minor.
Yesterday I decide to check mine company laptop.
It is maintain by company - all updates are done regularly.
Difference on that laptop then rest of PC is:
- I do have power user profile
- I have to sometimes use IE (yes huh!).
Due to stupidity of company I have to use some web site what was requesting to enable ActiveX.
Guess what?
I was doing something that force me to enable ActiveX, 28.12 roughly at 10.00
Mine firewall (McAf) has been switch off at 10.40.
In 10 min I manage to get at that laptop - 10 viruses / worms/ etc ......
I have found it week ago.

I couldn't tell ya what the issue is. But given experience, it is much more logical to assume the issue to be on your side rather than NCSofts. I can only provide the means of suggestion to investigate and it's up to you to determine. It's much easier to scapegoat someone else than it is to analyze your own methods, I'm only saying.

How about using same id/pas for fan sites, email & other games (yes this goes for private servers too) it increases you the chance of getting breached, not to mention about the phishing scam sites you have might as well kliked on one of the links from email or a shady link that you got on forum or online chat from friends.
People should stop sayin that its Path of Awakening fault, L2 Galleria uses the same function so why not say that the fault comes from there also. Not to forget once u login from Path of Awakening and you are done claiming the items you can use Galleria afterwards to buy items or login into Galleria to buy and then go to Path of Awakening to claim items. Both of them use the same **** login.
I will say this again as i said in my previous post if this was the case that the breach comes from login into the site since thousand of people are using it it would mean then that all of us are then compromised. So why isnt there hundreds of accounts getting striped everyday?

Well yea if there was a breach in their security NC would notice it and would taken off the site and shutting of the servers immediately and informing their customers about it and asking them to change their account pas. We all know NC got breached before and one thing they didnt do was the crap thing Sony did when they got breached man that was a disaster.

Yeah. The Sony thing was a major disaster, Anonymous and associated dox and cracking groups to blame for that but Sony didn't exactly respond to it in an intelligent manner. That was mainly, if I recall correctly, backlash as a result of the whole anti-Wikileaks issue. They started targeting all involved enveloping companies.

I've partied with Zace and he doesn't bot. I would say his money comes from the drops in the higher level areas that drop high level gear. He's been around awhile so it's not entirely impossible to have money. L2 isn't hard to make money in. You just need the know how.

Sounds like he had a weak password. It happens, and if someone logged into his account and took his adena, then there is nothing NCSoft can or will do.
I guess that they must be able to check logged IPs of chars so they can find the thief's IP and that he logged from more accounts and see mailbox items and return them.

I don't even want to invest time into this game anymore when it can just all go down the drain overnight. Guess I'll just go back to WoW when Mists of Pandaria comes out unless Tera comes first.

I contacted support and they confirmed that my account had been compromised and they gave me the account back... I log in... nothing...cleaned out every single character I had to zero and created new toons on the account named like DGQARWHDA, which I assume they were using to spam gold messages in the chat.

I've avoided the path to awakening site like a disease because of all the recent trouble. Everyday I think to myself It's not a matter of IF,but WHEN it happens. I'm about as paranoid as ever now. Every DC or daily login I hold my breath.
I got hacked twice. once 2 weeks ago when I just hit lvl 40. opened a shop up with the title "looking for mentor - pm me"
then alt tabbed to play another game. then went to sleep. woke up in the morning and my account got d/c.
logged in a few days later and notice I was slightly moved and missing 400k. i just thought to myself, maybe i setup a shop to sell instead of buy???
who knows. so i keep leveling my char. hit 65 a few days ago. Was going to level yesterday but the server was so laggy. I jumped in bed and just passed out. forgetting to log off L2. woke up this morning i was logged off. So I got ready for worked. logged at about half hour ago, char was wiped clean.

I got hacked twice. once 2 weeks ago when I just hit lvl 40. opened a shop up with the title "looking for mentor - pm me"
then alt tabbed to play another game. then went to sleep. woke up in the morning and my account got d/c.
logged in a few days later and notice I was slightly moved and missing 400k. i just thought to myself, maybe i setup a shop to sell instead of buy???
who knows. so i keep leveling my char. hit 65 a few days ago. Was going to level yesterday but the server was so laggy. I jumped in bed and just passed out. forgetting to log off L2. woke up this morning i was logged off. So I got ready for worked. logged at about half hour ago, char was wiped clean.

I had my accounts stripped too. Didn't have much adena, I made a new character on Magmeld (another BD), but my characters on Chronos are all naked now. This happened within a week of coming back, and obviously used no dodgy programs.
This just happened to me... I actually don't know when it happened because I only played free to play for a few weeks and then I got bored. But, on a whim, I tried to log into my master account 2 days ago and it said it was permanently blocked. I have had this account for over 10 years and I have played Lineage 2 since beta and have NEVER been hacked.
I contacted support and they confirmed that my account had been compromised and they gave me the account back... I log in... nothing...cleaned out every single character I had to zero and created new toons on the account named like DGQARWHDA, which I assume they were using to spam gold messages in the chat.
I am really fricken ****** because I do not have a weak password, I have had this account (as I said) for over 10 years, I do not share my info and my PC is brand new fresh install right before free 2 play and I have virus software, firewall etc...
I do not buy adena and do not bot... I also have other NCSoft master accounts with Lineage 2 accounts and they were not touched.
The only common denominator is that the account I got hacked on was the only one I logged into the path to awakening website on.
I replied to NC about all my missing gear and stuff and they said they were forwarding it on to SR support but I just told them to forget it...after so many years of playing only to get hacked now, I didn't care to get my stuff back. Its very clear to me now that from this thread and my experience that this is not some freak thing that was my fault. So many people getting hacked so close together in time and many people saying their stuff all got mailed to the same character? That is not user negligence...
Seems to me NC has a breech here. Which would not be the first time as this happened in Aion as well.
Double check your email account and spam filters. Depending on if they know your pw or not you may get an email notice saying they changed the pw if your plaync and game pw don't match.
Don't use the same PW for things such as facebook/twitter etc. Especially don't use the same pw for any blizzard/battle.net games. I haven't done wow in a year+ and I still get fake messages about my WOW account. So if you signed up for Diablo make sure your pw doesn't match over there and here and the same for any other betas.
If you think its a website issue, do what I do block/reject cookies/javascript/flash and enable it per site when you feel its safe.
Something that most of us don't do is, change your password regularly.

yea a buddy of mine in my clan told me he had items, adena stolen / lost this past saturday,
The weird thing about it is, he lost all his adena, his shots, his brez's, bsoe's however all his armor , weps, unidentified items in his bag and wh where still all there. so i find it hard to believe that someone logged in stole only the 15m adena and bsoes, brez, ss to not go sell all the armor and unidentified items for money too.
No, my characters are all there, very naked. I am looking through everybodies warehouses now, and I seem to have lots of expensive stuff (or stuff that used to be expensive lol) left, such as stacks of BSOE, Empower / Alacrity scrolls (I guess newbie buffs make these worthless), vitality pots (dunno if these are worth anything) etc. I might be able to get GirlyDorf all fitted out soon.
I just logged in after reading this Thread and guess what... I'm standing in frond of Aden WH keeper with No Adena on my char, WH cleared and all sell able items gone.
Well I didn't have much approx 6kk but still it is a loss.
Items on the auctions are still there :) I guess someone forgot to check that. :D

I checked emails and there is no sent emails.
My second account with more adena on it was not touched. ( YET???) I better change the password now.

I have been sick since Tuesday and was only able to login today, just to find that 3 of my characters on Chronos are now missing their armor, weapons, all materials, res scrolls, (beast) soul/spiritshots, and all adena (11-12kk). One of these chars still wore D grade armor!
My main char still has her armor, as well as Hatchling, Strider and Wolf, but everything else is missing too..
All my warehouses are empty as well (except for "Shilen Wand").
I have checked "Sent mail" but there was nothing in it.
Because I still have my pets and only certain items are missing, I thought this was a bug due to the server update, but apparently not? :(
Would it even be worth sending a support ticket?
You can submit a ticket....but the only thing you'll get back is some bound gear. I think its worth it to submit the ticket just so they get flooded with all these hacking things and MAYBE might start thinking....hmmmm.... maybe we should research all these occurances.
You wont get all your stuff back, it will be all bound items and you can kiss your adena goodbye! They are super nice about it though i begged and pleaded but no luck on getting back my +5 set and weapons and my millions in Adena! So i deleted some old characters and will try and rebuild but i have pretty much lost interest in this game!
Don't worry, just yet... I too logged in and saw absolutely nothing on my chars or in my warehouse. This was the other day when they were rebooting the servers. Once the server was rebooted, I saw all the bound stuff in the warehouses on my toons. So, I dunno I think the lag has something to do with it or its on a delay... but don't freak out just yet.

5. If you share your account with someone STOP (unless its your wife/husband, then just don't piss them off)
6. If you have a weak password STOP, get a new one
7. If you have a Password STOP CHANGE IT. CHANGE IT OFTEN.
8. If you don't have MALWARE/SPYWARE/ANTIVIRUS protection, STOP IT GET SOME!
9. If you have not done the above things and you get scammed because of it STOP QQing, its your fault.
Some of us have been playing for 5-6 or more years and have never been hacked, Im running around with billions in adena and 10's of billions in TRADEable weapons and armors, never once been hacked. Its because I know that it doesn't take a bot to **** you, if you look at a bot sight it may download somthing to your computer that you may not notice. AKA a keylogger. I would be willing to bet that 9 out of 10 adena sights have keylogger software built into their websites. How else do you think they make the majority of their money? I change my password about 1 to 2 times a month, is this overkill maybe, but I have never been hacked, how bout you?

I have used acp for mana/cp, not to bot with a files sent by a friend of mine and and tried once battle ping on hight rate server a long time ago, but my computer has been formated since i did it, and files even don't exist anymore on my computer. I even wonder if it was not with an old computer lol

There's people who have been here since beta and that was almost 8 yrs ago. They got their accounts stripped. I think you should go back and read up instead of making trollish posts. There are situations where it is not the person's fault. A customer can only do so much on their end to ensure the security of an account. At some point someone else IS responsible.
It's called customer service and NC fails to have it. You get what you pay for and in this case nothing so that equals nothing from NC. The people who paid for this game the last seven years are the ones who get burnt the worst.

That's how it works,you can't separate the two. The forums use your game login. If you read back into this thread you'll see what people think are the culprits. It's speculation only. NC hasn't addressed anything formally

They now know your account name, your email address and IP address as well. I'm not much of a programmer, but that's giving your local crack dealer the keys to your house.
3.Visiting Bot Sites is not safe. It's not a STD free activity like shopping at your local thai fishtank. Bot programmers know you're at their site to cheat. Add in the human propensity to use the same log in details and passwords for all their accounts, registering at any of the botting sites is a really really bad idea. (also, they know your ip address now). They've also probably set up a trap somewhere on their site and the chances of getting..literally a drive by trojan or key logger is extremely high.
4. If you're coming from a Private Server, best to clean your system up before coming to L2 official. The best thing i can describe a Private Server is that Mois Eisley quote by Sir Alec ******ss.
Everything else is default. Make sure you have a good password, antivirus, etc.
Lastly, nothing is full proof. You could have done everything prescribe here and still be targeted. Why? Because it's not unknown to be targeted by some poor chap with a psychological disability, and way too much knowledge of computing.
When you come into an MMO, come in virtually and keep your private life out of it.

Well the good news is that Tera announced May 1st as official launch date. L2 will be over at that point. I loved this game,but I just tired of the drama.
