The fact that it is not subscription based now but L2 Store based in order to make some money.
With this event a lot of people are unhappy that they lost their runes time due log in failing due to bots so I hope they will actually renew our timer or give us a new rune which will correspond to our initial purchase.

even IF you somehow managed to play an entire 6 days, you'd lose 1 day for maintenance anyway. the 7day rune will never be effectively useful for 7 days no matter WHO you are.

Every week they set a time frame of aprox some amount of hours. this week and last it was 4. But not 1 time have u been able to keep with in. When u write approximately 4 hours, then its 4 hours +- 10-15 min. Not 5 - 5 1/2 hour. A misscalculation of over 20% is not even close.
Could u plz just write 5 hours, and then do it in 5 hours or less, insted of keep missinforming us. Thats really bad manner.

They estimate the time because during maintenance unpredictable technical issues may happen.
Well, give them some time to make fun between them, while they are able to be logged to test the changes, and we keep spamming our passwords to log in :)

Agree. I work with servers and the estimated time of maintenance is always calculated based on the worst scene.

Also, thinking to past problems, maybe they implement solutions that need some extra time. As long as they work for better gameplay, i can wait even 24 hours or more and maybe we will have a nice surprise from NC West. ;)

Same thing on Bartz, still cannot create more than two characters. That was really the *only* exciting thing in this update.
I am not familiar enough with this event (I usually wait until the end and then use all of the items in one go), but is there any real possibility that removing the Fragment of Light drops will help the login issues? And don't you need 1:1 of each item in order to use them all up, or do you need much less Fragment of Light than you do Specter of Light? I hope it's the latter, because I have about 300 Specter of Light and 130 Fragment of Light.

You know, between the adena-spam-bots (I have some on ignore now for weeks that are STILL in-game spamming) and NC's inability to live up to anything they promise, I'm about done with this game. 'Truly-Free' would have been SUCH a GREAT idea if it were being implemented by a company with any interest in actually doing things right.. But this is NC, and this is what NC does. They make big promises, then they run their own games into the ground by not being properly pro-active in the GM department.

This makes no sense... next week they should tell us "This maintenance should take approximately 24 hours give or take 12 hours."
That way we will be happy when they finish with it only taking 4 hours and 23 minutes?
Just wait until they are finished doing what they need to do no matter how long it takes. It should be understood, without saying, they will certainly bring the servers back online as soon as they can. If the server being down to conduct maintenance for more than 4 hours within a 168 period is unacceptable than surely you are taking this game too seriously and you may need to step back from the keyboard, spend the 4 plus hours indulging in some much needed therapy.

WTB part time consulting job for ncsoft cause your current solutions for problems seem to be more the "spray and pray" approach. Yes moving up the event end will fix things a week earlier but misses the cause of the problem and continues another week of hell for players. The fragment of light drops are not what is causing the increased account's and PC's logging for 24/7. The problem comes from the agaiathon giving the spector of light fragments. If you removed them and allowed the fragments to drop it would remove the need to stay logged in and stop people/farmers from creating accounts/toons to log in. That and people who have spectors could still farm up fragments to use up the spectors they currently have.

CoH/V has it's own niche of complainers, and their complaints fall in the same general direction: very very poor game management. I do have to say, though, that CoH/V has a *LOT* less spam, even though there is less GM support there, actually, than there is here...

You use like 2-5 Fragments for each Specter, so you would need like 1000 fragments for 300 specters (average).
I'd say: Item LAGS for 30 seconds. And anything related: heal pots, BSOE, mailbox, mail itself, binding items, etc, etc. Everything related items are laggin for 30 seconds. Everything else doesn't log! This is NOT a connection problem! SOmething with request into DB or "Item server" if any.
We are looking into the Bartz matter as well, and it is possible that it too might be restarted. There is currently no ETA for the restart for Chronos (or others) but we will update when there is.

Seriously. Ever since L2 went F2P. 5 clan members have been hacked and all their gear has been stolen. All of them used the in game NCStore and the Path to Awakening webiste. This is just like C4 when NCSoft reset EVERYONES master accounts because they got hacked.
Now the players are paying for their mistakes.

The F2P is only benifiting new players that ask for Noblise when they are 87.

i am new and i cant log in ... log in is down or i have probleme?
Server are full/high traffic its the game not you. Even if you did actually get in, the game is so laggy right now, you'd just mainly stand around unless on a team.
So to those that are complaining about not getting in, you aren't missing much. Once you do get in you'll just complain about the lag that's been stated lol.
Sace, do you understand that you fail again? Why? You dont stop event, you stop item drop from mobs, but items from agathion still can be obtained. And again server full (at least Naia) with 1 lvl toon who summon agathion. If you need screenshot - I can make it (I bet you will not be able to log Naia and check coz of full server).
Actually there is 2 possibility - players find dupe of items that was droped from mobs or all current 1 lvl toons just on out-of-game bot with autologin and his owner dont even aware that second items not dropped any more so first one become useles.

Even though we are aggravated with things and going through what I call "adjustment pains" its not her fault. She does not make the decisions for server restarts,events,bot bans and so on. All these complaints have to be sent to support via a ticket from the website. Don't bother with a petition just go straight to the site in your acct and do it.

The problem are not the fragment of light, but the Specter of light.
Because the real problem i think come around 200+ char lvl 1 near all Priest of blessing (more of that are in Taling Island). It's simple, make new account (not need money, now), create one char, move this char to one Priest of Blessing, take agathion and leave it logged, for after send with mail the Specter. In all town Priest is full of bot-afk near him.
Next time i hope you make event like this with limit to the lvl (for example, agathion acquireble only for chat 40+ or 76+) for the best solution or with a block of trade on the afk-"dropped" item.
So, fail maintenance and other 7 days of impossible lag... Nice :S

my registration date to the forums does not reflect on how long I've played the game, I was here for beta so let's set that right.

If the Chronos restart goes well we will likely apply the same fix to all other servers. Waiting on results first. Chronos should be coming back online about now.

Yeah, funny how sometimes things just don't turn out like people planned. So most of us fix things the best we can and move on. Yet, there will always be a few that freak out over the "issue" and want heads to roll and blood shed from all the staff. Get over it, if things are really so bad you just can't take it anymore... don't post about it, plug pull and go find the perfect game where nothing ever goes wrong.

It's been confirmed that this issue is affecting all servers. We are looking into it and we will likely have to do an emergency maintenance to solve it but this decision is pending as we are still investigating the cause of the issue and need to test possible fixes.
That this issue of yours are the 1000s of bots and cheat users running around on the server causing LAG LAG LAG. Please Sace, start ENFORCING that EULA or L2 will go the way to L1 -> DEAD because legit players won't pay attention to it and no income because bots just won't buy since they just...XP AFK 24/7...

Why not just make it so u have to be getting xp to get the event things.
As in the "Specter of light".
That would solve alot of the lvl 1's just standing there.

So ban all the accounts that started after free-to-play? Yeah, that's like holding up a sign and saying something is free then calling the cops because someone took the item without buying.
The game is free to play, so all accounts "have not paid 1 cent" to play.
And as for rewarding the "supporters" of NCSoft, wasn't that the point of going Free2Play so that the game can stay open? Or would closing the NA servers have been a better option, in respect to the "power players"?
the fixes for event on naia and chronos bring new problems. If we look at solution they found for event, maybe the solution to actual problem will be to shut down servers (easiest solution) :)
There's no way to play on Shilen atm. So much lag. This event is by far worse than any event I've ever seen both on official and private servers. It's killed the game. And all that's being done is cutting the time on Chronos? That's a ******* joke.

On Naia, between this announcement and the one about server issues, the message is as long as a trip around the world. Isn't it best to shorten it writing something like "Real Money Trading and the use of 3rd party software are a bannable offense, please don't support these activities"?
It might be a small thing (and it really is compared to other problems), but it isn't nice to be forced to go up on a chat to read what was written before the automated announcements.

I have 3 awakened chars, I like their race mounts (swift melody is really barbie looking but I have him on my female elf enchanter soo not that bad :p) but... I'm really happier in playing when my chars looks good ^^ I love big cats and big bad wolves (<3 my fenrir) and my DE or Orc on this lion would be great.
And my husband ofc plays an enchanter orc. He loves rp too so he hates his mount so much xD If this lion mount will be someday perma maybe (but this is low chance) we will buy him for sure ^^

s-grade pack is 76-84 only.
Forget farm events......
Make an event about something that every IP can have only once.
E.G. Make every IP available to get 1 item from the site and put it in 1 character. This item will make every char able to participate min 1 event that has no farm.
A joke event, best joke wins.
A video event, best l2 video wins.
A song event, best l2 song wins.
A screenshot event, best screenshot wins (I think u've done it in past so no prob I guess).

Well , just after chronos came live after the update until now , all of us (chronos' citizens) experienced huge problems , like SS not working , like freaking delays in any action we made .. So , we lost about 1 and a half day from whatever we would like to do in server . Most of us , would like to have some PAYBACK , i can't name it otherwise! The best thing u can do for this , IF u want to keep your gamers faithfull that NCsoft West is a reliable company , that knows what to do when **** happens , then just say , SORRY we missed it. Refill vitality or give us some bonus xp , like 5 hours or whatever u think it's cool. I'm just one more gamer that wants to experience lineage 2 in its official status , as it MUST be. I can accept that **** happens , and u had a really bad day yesterday. BUT , it was not only for u!!So the best way to keep us hot about this game on these servers , just show us you respect , our time , our money and whatever we (GAMERS) give to you by giving some of our wasted time these almost 2 days , with some bonus. No more cries. We are not CRYING about a game , we JUST want to play!! U give games to us , we give u reputation.. So simple ;)

ofc it isn't solve, they removed drop rate of event, the ******* fairy is still there, and bots are still staying afk farming that ******* event, **** you ncsoft, and **** L2 is dying and you cant see it.
And if you finally enter, the connection with server will fail in less than 30 min... just to stay again in front of the login screen typing you pass again, and again, and again....

I really can only laugh and say I told you so. I told you guys that ending the event would solve nothing and look at that, nothing fixed, same old problem minus an event.
As far as L2 dying goes, this does not look like a dying game to me, this looks like a game that is getting second chance at life, and second chance that most don't get, it has a chance to have another good 8 years, just let the game get used to being F2P, which takes a few months in some cases and then watch we watch them relive their golden years.
If it wasn't for Sace we wouldn't have any updates/know anything.

All Sace said was that NC was aware of the problem and that they were working on it but couldn't tell us what they are doing but will let us know.
This is what they say everytime there is a problem....and please read the forums to find out what they actually have done since 2004.
My take on all this...NC is trying to see if they can generate a fail on F2P. so far i would say they've done quite well...just read the threads...again not a bunch of happy gamers!!!
