Many reports have been made about this issue so we're creating a dedicated thread for this topic.
As you know, in the maintenance of July 18, 2012, a potential fix was applied for the issue of critical error game client crashes during certain raid boss fight instances (often related to cutscenes). We have since received new reports of players still having crashes. This is a known issue and we are working on fixing it. We are not yet certain if this is the exact same issue (and the fix didn't work) or if it is a new issue with similar symptoms. Whatever it is, rest assured that we are investigating it and we will get a fix for this as soon as possible.
If you experience crash errors during raid fight instances, please send your crash log to the support team (https://lineage2.custhelp.com/app/ask/). This greatly helps us find the cause and solution for the problem. We will keep you updated whenever there is news about this issue.
Please keep discussion about this topic in this thread only moving forward. This thread is only for discussion and posts about this one particular matter.
I was fortunate to not have crashed, i rarely do, dunno why but many people always crash, what is being done about it? I hear other versions also don't have a fix for this and it might only happen in glory days update?
These players need a refund! They loose XP! AND MOST OF ALL, PATIENCE! Do not make more incentives for players to quit! There are way too many out there, please adress this, ASAP.
On top of that we get a uni tw circlet and a uni apo caster, these raids are simply becoming unworthy, the PVE content becomes unworthy, it's already BORING as it is! The drop itself is no the problem, but the variosu issues to get to that miserable drop.
I hope the players that crashed send messages to NC suport for XP refunds cause this situation has NO REASON to be here messing our gameplay even more than it already is!
now i was there too, from each party 2 dc, from the second party where i was in it was actually the party leader that D/C and the party dropped. there was also players complaining about lagging while others had no lag at all. that makes me believe its a hardware issue or related to the software on those players computers.
i honestly think that many players right now are confusing their own computer issues with the server issues. like since i got a new hard drive (got a flashdrive now) i NEVER EVER had problems with lag again, except for a few times and shortly after the server went down anyways. the other occasions with the server crashing are not related to the individuals that get D/C; for example when they SOE from kartia or someone PR's them or they watch a video and crash on return, etc... i strongly believe that all those issues are related to timeouts caused by loading times based on your hard drive.
so, do what i did: take those .irl files and forward them to the gameguard guys. if they cant help you and if its not a server issue then start looking for the problem on your own computer.
i feel sorry for you guys, i really do, and yet it seems its always the same players that crash, and they know it in advance. you do spezi with them or k95 and they will tell you right away "after this and that i will get d/c, plz wait i will be right back" for example.
i do istina twice a week since a long time now and NEVER get dc...
now the main question i have would be, did all those people follow the steps to mail in the gameguard files and what did they sent as answer?

This is not true. Our CP goes Istina / Spezion regularly and always different ppl have crash, but each of us had several crashes. I don´t believe that we all have bad PC...
Before 18 july my usual Spezion party and I have to deal with many DC ( often 5-6 DC out of 7).
After the 18 july maintenance, only 1-2 of us crash, so it's was a beginning.
So Thanks to people who had fix ( a bit) the problem.
when the lastest update 07/18/2012 released. i got client crashing at last scene of spezion instance zone. how to solve it? does anybody get this problem like me?:confused:
Oh!!! I was in Istina today and when we killed RB i got critical Error like 50% of my pt, after video. I didnt, get experience and i didn,t get drop! but YEAHH! i got CD at ISTINA. Ok so i said lets go Spezion, and what happend at Spezion??? when we kill Spezion AGAIN critical error!!! is the first time that this happend to me, but after new update..... I GOT CRITICAL IN ALL VIDEOS IN ALL RAID BOSS :confused: . Why???
not sure if there is a thread for this already or not , but seems that since last major update, when we were down for extended period on thursday not wednesday... ever since then every time I try to do Freya on any of my toons i get mutiple crits.. adn am still waiting to try and finish this. Also this is not only for me.. it is multiple players in both parties throughout the instance... any info on if its bein fixed... seems a big fat waste of time until it is

I had (and still have) the same issue, at Spezion and Freya untill now.
In our cc it's always the same people who get crash as well after Istina and Spezion. Weirdly, no crash after Fortuna - I think it's got something to do with videos too, and honestly if it won't get fixed soon, people won't even go to any of them because it's pointless without any xp... (Troll: however it's amazing to get that much more xp if you don't have crash :P )

Don't think it is an issue of bad pc, just a different pc. The crash can be because of a specific video card, virus scanner, processor, your location on the globe etc. etc.
I used to standard crash when I enter tezza, but when I put alt-p I am fine. Try alt-p as many of these crashes are caused by them using the graphics card in the wrong way.
Never crashed in the end (yet) but I have crashed after the black and white video of spezion. When it doesn't properly appear I usually crash and half of the party. Fortunately you can still reenter.
doing Octavius had 1 DC, during Istina, had another dc exactly after we kill Istina and it was needed 2 use BR 2 fill the damage meter... im a ISS so my pt didnt got the BR :( it was stuppid, but whatever... and before Tauti that never happened 2 me
Today my clan made Istina raid and we all full check the game client and still half of us were kicked at the end and get no XP, and no quest done.
PLEASE THAT fixed, I have 19 items for Freya soul cloak, 18 for Frintezza's soul clock, also waiting for the Istina's brazalet, and I am wasting my time tring to PLAY and you dont fix it!!!!
since july 18 update im also getting crit. errors in almost all raids for example today we was with 14 pple in freya and i had dc on 1st video after on last video they got all dc and when i got inside freya i was alone there w8ing everyone to login,in spezion also pple get dc, and today pple couldnt speak with npc sookie and after we found that we have to click on shift and click sookie at same time for the window open, i hope this get solved fast
I know we ask for compensation for everything but i just did a Istina and got 65m exp because 4 people survived the crashes.
Hope NcSoft dont forget about that.
Be that someday will be able to fix something without damaging the other ? :confused:
Guys it's time to really get to work on the problems of the game, not only in marketing .
I have a week with the same problem and when you write to support people just tell you that you need update the game :eek: that the problem is fixed and that they actually applied a patch during the weekly server maintenance (18/07/2012) :mad:

problem with this crash stuff is that people will stop doing Istina entirely as it stops being worth it, esp. with the lowered xp with two parties as is, now with crash and 0 xp it's really not worth it. drops TW but probably better off go xp Orbis and get a seraph drop. People who do crash should be refunded xp and have instance zone reset at the least, as well. I did an Istina and only 2 of my party didn't dc at end; I was one of the lucky ones; (btw I have a solid state drive and have yet to crash in instance, maybe it makes a difference?)

anyway I second the removal of the cut scenes, maybe it is those causing problems, and if you've seen it once you've seen it enough...

Alt+P doesn´t work at all. I tried it yesterday and I had a crash again...
Hi guys, I'm quite new in the game and the forums (never wrote anything before in forum, just a lot of reading), but I would like to give you my personal experience of the issue. I rarely got DC'd or Critical error in any instance - Not even in Tezza with 4 pt's - and I play from 2 different locations. From home with mt PC and adsl connection and at weekends I play with my laptop using my mobile internet connection. As I said before, from both the locations I rarely got any critical error or DC in Tezza, Freya Spezzion - istina etc. I always use low Detail, no matter if I'm in a instance, a town or hunting, the game runs very smoothly in low detail -even though my pc has 2 GT520 cards in SLI mode. After the latest "fix" for these critical errors many users where experiencing, i started having 3-4 even 5 critical errors in all instances, regardless if there was a cutscene or not. You all know how frustrating is to have 18 Freya's soul fragments and doing 2 Freya instances and you don't get not even 1 soul fragment because you got a critical error, but no matter what, you'll get you instance zone reuse time. Same goes for Spezzion, istina etc.... Why a player should get Instance zone reuse time since he wasn't able to finish the instance because of a critical error is one thing that frustrates me more than not getting XP or drop or quest item due to a critical error. I think that cutscenes don't get affected if you have normal graphics or low detail selected and I fail to see the point of having to watch the same cutscenes over and over again, even though you have finished the instance 10-20+ times before and got dc'ed 90% of those time cause of the cutscene.

The answer i got from emailing support,since our partys/cc crash on every istina/octavis we do(almost all in istina,very few people in octavis),was we can all get a one time only xp rune 30%.Not a word about how and when they will fix this problem.
Probably more difficult than fixing the problem. But yes, perhaps until a final fix they can turn off all movies. Seen them 100 times anyway.
recently our daughter passed by at the screen when one of those sequels (or whatever you call them) was running (again). she is 7 and passed by at the TV, took a short glance at it and asks me:"why do they make you watch that so many times?".
at first i was laughing but a second later i started thinking ... yes, why do they? :eek::(:confused::rolleyes:
I don't think this is only in instances, in one hour in hellfire every single person in our group crit errored at least twice, everyone that is except the summoners. This happened two days in a row now, constant crashes. Before then we had no problem, but the last two days were the first days we had summoners with us.
Our group never had any crashes in spezian or istina. This week we will be taking a summoner for the first time, if we lose people I will be blaming one of the summoner skills.
Well today nobody crashed on Istina, 2 people from random pts crashed on freya after maintenance but just 2..so far looks ok, i haven't done spezion for like 2 weeks now so i dunno how that one is.
no youre wrong, i can run AION or WOW in whole FULL DETAILS, ULTRA, but in this game.
all problems arent hardware/software is the code/engine of this game which are terrible
EQ2 had a similar issue where the cutscene in one of the Rime instances would cause random crashes, so he's not totally wrong however I doubt it has anything to do with our machines, but more what's getting done in teh game client when it goes to play the cutscene.
Additionally my boxed Iss always crashes at least once in Swamplands. Once I switch to it I'm almost always getting ready to restart his client. Even with a fresh client (i.e. I log him in there), if I switch windows and then back he crit errors on the first switch 100% of the time.
What I find odd is that I have ever had any crashes when doing these raids even before the update. Just did one not long ago and for me everything went fine, same with the group of friends I was with; no crashes or disconnects.
In fact I can't remember the last time the client crashed on me.. at least a few months. Only problem I ever have is some of my characters not being able to take the daily quests even after several days while other are able to do them each day.
