These days it seems no matter where I go I see them. Players, some with distinguised clan crests, highly OE weapons and top grade armors, all lying in a hunting ground, nonresponsive, dead. An hour goes by and they're still there. Two hours. Four hours. Six hours. I'm not sure what L2 Paramedics they called, but clearly there isn't any special rez coming their way...and they know it. The risks of going on autopilot.
If we can't bring back drops on death, can we least implement a spoil feature in the game? Any character found dead in a non-Peace zone for more than, oh, an hour, should be prime picking to have all of his items plucked. Right down to his t-shirt and adena.

Hit em where it hurts, make their gear/adena dissapear.
Who cares if a 95 gets banned, he just start a new char up and be where he left of in a month or so, but steal away his gear and adena and he might reconsider
It's easier to prove someone is botting when he's alive and fighting.
It's much harder when he's just lying there dead.
See there is no rule how long you can stay dead or not reply to some random's pm and when he's not moving or interracting with anything or anyone is even harder to prove the player is a bot.

Even toon shouting for RMT website, reported via the ticket system, don't get banned
Ah yes, I got the answer from the GM saying that they will check this guy. 2 days ago. Nice time to check if a character is shouting or not for a RMT website.
I guess It means that RMT shouting is in fact allowed if you report them and your ticket get the answer, get closed and the guy is not banned :D

Which, if I understand the OP's position correctly, is why he's saying DON'T ban them, but rather let the community/server police these things.
He/she has a point. Last I heard, using 3rd party programs to level yourself while AFK is still against the EULA. But why bother to report anyone? As some of you have already stated, "Good luck proving it."
The solution that the OP proposes is a lesser remedy. My hunch is that anyone that uses 3rd party programs to level is probably also eye-brow deep in the RMT trade. "Looting" dead players will just increase demand and throw the engine that drives that illegal system into overdrive. Nice try, though.
Maybe if the OP suggested the ability to not only take their equipment and adena, but also their Experience and Vit. Hmmm, that might work. Let's see...a cheating player starts off at level 90 with 100% Vit. Goes to bed, but leaves his character hunting on 3rd party program. Said character dies. The player comes back the following morning to find his/her character naked, adenaless, with no Vit and de-levelled due to Vampyric Loot skill back to level 1. Yes, that might give them pause.
Next patch will give us the ability to delevel if the character is above lv 86. and skills get deleved and lose enchants if the toon gets under 4 level than the level of the skill.
Rejoice.
Yea, woudl be nice if after 1 hour dead, you'd start randomly drop items every 10 minutes except on batle fields, and augmented drop and loose augmentation, **** awesome.

So basically, every once in a while you'd get to loot some ******'s bot, but on the whole this would do nothing. Naia and Chronos are at full capacity most of the time, and nothing but actual hard core bans will fix that.
However, in case you haven't put 2 and 2 together yet, NCSoft does not want to ban the trains. It's not even a close call if some toon that has been xping non-stop for 29 out of 30 days is a bot or not, and it would take all of an hour or 2 per server to police DVC/MOS/GC/Harnaks/GOG. They choose not to do this, so you are all left with basically 3 options:
1) Quit
2) Keep playing and try to enjoy yourself anyway
3) Get on the gravy train

The lineage has been dominated by bots, this is fact ... and I'm really impressed with the ability of people to come here and complain after using the bot. I bet 40% of people who are here in this post, bot uses or have used.

I just don't get why they can't trace the bots from the logs... I mean, BOT programs must be leaving traces in logs somewhere...???
I never used bot and never will so i dont know how they work... But from what i understand, its a standalone program that you launch via a command and then it automates the gameplay... This must be leaving some traces somewhere...
Why on private servers, i saw many people getting banned automaticaly by the system and not on official?

TOI, IT, ALTAR (Swamp) and many other areas are crowded of bots...
I try to still enjoy the game, but getting out of ideas to enjoy it...

So this basically turned into another "ban the bots thread". I've said this a zillion times as have others on the forum. It doesn't matter if NC DID ban bot trains. Those trains would be back in a matter of days.They can create new accounts and do it all again. They aren't in it for the enjoyment of the game. They do it for personal profits and have zero emotional attachments to their characters. People like me have invested nearly nine years so yeah I'm not too keen on being banned for cheating, bots however do not care.

in the pic you've posted, you clearly 89, with talisman of hellfire plus element gear (I bet) vs 3 character with immo set and I bet (also) no element/no enchanted gear/no level higher than 85. If you do say they could have a chance against you (while you hitted them by surprise, trying to lethal and almost killing the healer first, knowing her important skills like rebirth/cele were in cd), you just leave this only options on the table: or you'r just a complete arrogant dumb4s.s that brag loud about "no-chance" kill targets or you have no clue about game mechanics nowadays.
