there are teams on our server that won many pvps with just one healer. 2 healers is just endless boring fight

i thought it was pretty clear. team representative has to pay the adena; you get pre-made char no matter your current lvl and equipment.

the only con is the team build cos its not mandatory to have one Awk of each class to have a good team...

cos any team can put one or two healers in the tag and if one random is missing they fill up with a second healer cos i didn read anything about the tag (replacement team) in the rules
it doesn't really make sense to pvp with one healer. Anyway, what about if someone is missing from the basic team, and the replacement is same class as someone already here? Like for example the archer is missing, replacement is wizard, but there is already a wizard in the team, it means its against the tournament rules.

Skill enchantments, item enchantments, augmentation and clan skills cannot be acquired on the Event Server.
Non-Usable Items and Skills:
-All scrolls (including resurrection scrolls) and recovery-type items cannot be used. (This includes items such as the “L2 Day” scroll series, Healing Potions, Elixirs of CP, Greater Haste Potions, Greater Alacrity Potions, and Greater Casting Speed Potions.)
-All types of Hero skills and items.
-HP- decreasing debuffs (for example: Frenzy, Zealot) cannot be used prior to the beginning of the match.
-Teleportation skills can be used, but if you move outside of the arena you will be disqualified.

The dates of the Tournament have been posted. When will we know the times of the matches ? Personally on Saturdays i work all the afternoon - evening so this is an important issue that may concern to more willing to participate players.
Anyways, this is really a wonderful idea and im really happy to see NCSoft west will make this again. It would be fantastic to keep doing it every some months, not every 6 years :D.

Even better would be to sell everything to Innova like they did with the Euro server. By putting everything in Innova's hands and moving everything overseas they can use their Frost protection system without breaking any laws.
Until that happens you will never see a working anti-bot or anti-cheat system here in the United States. No company in North America hosting an MMO game is allowed to use such systems that monitor a players actions. Not even the powerful Blizzard Entertainment uses such a system because by law they are not allowed to.
ppl without "return dmg aug" ll fall down, these ppl that deposit their fights on it ll hit the floor sooooooo hard. 50% of self proclamed chronos+naia clans/parties ll just spent money on this.
i fought against all "top player" on both server, i never had these kind of aug and everytime i saw despair on their actions. this event ll be good, but our staff cant handle it, they doesnt have the skills to stop scripters since they cant identify them.
we are going to see soooo many self proclaimed top players get kicked hard :cool:

Frost scans your registry and does a few other things rootkit style which gets sent to Innova so yeah it's not quite legal in certain countries and guess what it does not stop all 3rd party software unlike what many ppl seems to believe..
anywayz as GM's will be actually monitoring all fights I would dare ppl to use scripts during the event, see how fast they get banned or not right ? ;)
just noticed this little point in the submission form "Each team can have up to 2 reserve team members in case some team members cannot attend a match" does that mean the reserve players will also get a Golden Name if their team wins even if they do not get deployed/called upon ?

Good idea by structuring the toons, this way, no one will have item advantage over other people and will have to rely on skill and coordination, unless they use 3rd party programs for assistance during the battles :D.
Amazing news, this will be so much fun. But please consider the only limitations to 2 Healers + 1 Tank and the rest 4 characters of teams choice so people can go with what they like. I'm participating in Innova EU tournament atm and it are really nice fights, for like 10 mins +/- max with 2 healers in party. So if the conditions will be similar here, there is no need to worry about some endless fights with 2 healers parties ;)

I am curious how the copy characters will be. Obviously a lvl 85 awakened toon cannot compete with a lvl 99 awakened toon. Are all toons going to be boosted to 99 with awakened skills?
The gear that we will be able to choose form, will it all be standard? Blessed? Double SA on weps? Will we be able to Element?
If a player disconnects when they log back in will they be able to reconnect back to the tournament match or are the out for the rest of that match?

As you know, we don't have a strong protect like Innova with FROST.
What you gonna do to prevent people use 3rd party programs?
frost is useless, there are bots on innova too, even the fanbois of innova can confirm that, else why would they bother putting players to report bots? the difference is, in the same spot where you find 2~3 groups on our servers, you will find like only 2~3 bots on innova. there are fraps too.

BIGLOL on this one. soooo naive, we reported SOOOOO many youtube videos where every little skilled player could see dudes running scripts, and these guyz are still on game. staff can detecte nothing.
here is the best example of it: ppl use HIDE out of the enemy´s atk range and get seek/follow straight by the "blind" people all over the way. AND STAFF DO NOTHING.
nc staff know nothing about l2 and NOTHING ABOUT THE PVP MECHANICS.
as i said before, sooo many scripters ll fall down hard, i hope the legit and pro dudes get together in good parties to pawning these noobs with 3rdPP.
u can discard from chronos; dw+boss+most of bregan+camelot+vengeance+br101+nd+most of enmity and most of house of errants, these guyz cant pvp at all.

inobody must be familiar with 3rd party programs to know what will detect them and what he can get away with.
bingbing its wishful thinking thinking that NC soft is competent in finding or stopping it even in controlled environment they didnt bann the ovbious script users all they need to do is follow the maxxed out toons to find scripts AND THEY WONT FOR LOSS of profit.
look at the chronos lock-down fail they stop transfers and character creations ban very few "important" cheats then open all access back up to chronos expect mass maxed out toons to show up since the cheats just went to other servers to make new toons and bot them up. and also i guarantee the new account/character creation is up 1000% even from before the lock-down for fear of it happening again this is NC greatest fail yet besides from the stupid underwear event why offer active buff skills that can be overwritten by level 1 ISS buffs.

It doesn't matter what dual class you've got on your original server. It matters only to participate... On the event server ALL players will be level 99 with equal equipment, with no skills enchanted.

Registration is on a first come first serve basis. Each server will have a limited number of teams that can register in order to have a balanced number of teams from each server.
Seems that 1st 32 teams will be chosen...idk why they put 20 day for registration...in my opinion more than 32 teams will register in this period.

The problem is that our cp has a judicator iss (kamael dualclass iss), and we are in a hard position if he wouldn't be allowed to come, because his main class is the same as someone else's in the party.

What I a little dislike in this Tournament, that only full parties can register and those parties what achieve the 1st 2nd 3rd places even become to too overpowered with these gears on their servers.
At least against those who hasn't fix parties (solo players example), but participate on Olympiad, Ceremony of Chaos or Siege.
May should modify the Blessed Armors and Weapons to Standard Armors and Weapons.

1. if u like to play with 5 healers in party why not ? its your party style no one can blame u ( extra heal / less fire power .. considering that its same gear same lvl should be about strategy and play-style not to force u to go in a specific set up

Since thats a substitute for "enter chat" playstyle with remaped shortcuts there is totally nothing wrong on it. And if they dare to say its bad, then screw them, there is no way to find that out. If you play with enter chat or got a "special" keyboard/mouse for that purpose.

In which chronicle of lineage 2 NCWest are currently in? The casting of resurrection is now fine and making battles much shorter so why no 2 healers? And how a 1 healer party will be able to survive a solidarity 3 party dps??? One focus on healer and game kinda over. This will be boring... I wont even watch the stream...

The reserve is not a bench for substitutions. It's for back up players. Prizes are only for the main 7.

So you allowed 32 teams across 5 servers, and left out the fact that reserves get nothing. Reserves, backups. However you want to call them, they are still on the team and probably will participate. Many teams added reserves that are good players for the simple fact there is only 32 teams, now your telling us not even everyone on the 32 teams gets rewards, I loled :(
Well, seriously, i was hoping that after explanation it will look a bit more user friendly. But honestly the party classes rules, and people not being able to pick another class then they play on life servers, and only 1 toon from each class and many other little things like no nobless ... gratz, you managed to ***ed up the only thing you might have brought fun to the players and to the pvp.

Proper party should in my option look like max 2 Healers, max 1 Tank and any 4 classes of party choice. And trust me that the fights would not be endless. But it seem you prefer 1 to 2 minute fights with a pure korean random cr4p leading to the result instead of some players skill.

I think this 2 Healers in 1 7 members party is even the craziest idea ever. Im happy, that NCwest didn't allow 2 healers to the party.
Game is designed for the 1 healer game play not for the 2-3 healer pvps as the local top clans or the Russians plays it.
2-3 updates later u will have to decide, that you will take to your party a Cardinal for very good HP recharge or an Eva's Saint/Shilen's Saint for a very good MP recharge.

They will be checking and they will not discover anything since thats what ncwest is about, else the many top clans players would not be around already - it would be enough to check one siege weekend and it would be the end of many. But this situation just proves that nc has no tools to find out pvp bots. So, they cant detect anything.

As what i understood reserve team member can replace only if the rule of 1 class of each in the party will be held. So if the backup player is of same class as the present party members, he is not allowed to join the party and play.

A: The rules are that you cannot have 2 team members of the same class. Therefore, your reserve members can only replace someone of the same class or a class that wasn’t included in the original 7 members. Reserve members are not a “wild card” but should be used mainly if you have one or two team members that you know may not be able to participate to all matches.

But why do want, that a PvP goes for 20-30 mins? It is quite ok if a PvP action goes for 2-5 minutes.

There is no amazing playstyle and extreame coordinated teamplay when your only hope to stay alive - your healer is dead after 3 seconds with a salvation i give him 1 more second. And than what? We stay and watch how tanks are playing olympiad style till one of them die? Yes, sure that would be soooo much more interesting... Or even better poor iss exhausted after rebuffing for 1bilion time with no mana hitting bravely with his cute duals till a tanks kill him... Really no tactics can save the coming bordom of this event. The game at that moment in PvP aspect is not made to be with 1 healer in a party...

The best thing that could happen would be to see no one of the 'botted' even get into the tournament. Imagine if you will, people winning that have only been playing Lineage 2 for a few months. That would make me smile.

But if you think about it.. Players that really like to do pvp take more time to get to lv 99 and get items than those who love pve and get lv 99 fast.
I'm talking here about legit players, ofc. You have limited time. If you spend doing a lot of pvp, you don't get lots of xp and items, but instead you gain experience.
So I think that there are a lot of ppl that have lv 99 that would lose bad to a char lv 95, if both of them are on equal grounds.

These are very nice changes and thanks for making them it will really make the matches more fun.
You should really re-consider on giving rewards to the 2 reserves in each team though, thats the biggest issue in my opinion, it has caused a lot of drama and frustration among players. We are talking about only 8 more players that will be rewarded (2 reserves in each of the 4 winning teams). That is of course if each reserve participated in at least 1 match to make sure a live player gets it and not a 2 box.
Guys.. I just saw a pvp video with healer having 5s casting for ress.
I think the healer tries to ress the DD, after the other healer, after the ISS and the cast gets cut all the times by tyrr skills.
So how to win this 7v7?
My best strategy would be: get tyrr/othell on the only healer, get archer+feoh+wynn to assist on the DDs. Since feohs normally use wizard harmony, would ppb go down fast. If ISS tries to ress, just keep a token on him or put him in cage with wynn.
Would be quite sad to see healer trying to ress and every ress (5s is long, so just need 1 skill to enter) failing.
I didn't think about that until I saw the video. The healer on the video was having serious trouble with 2 healer on pt, imagine just 1..

People were already trying to wrap their heads around the 1 healer / no pots thing when all of a sudden you release the current list of rules.
Who vetted these rules? Why do they think the rules are appropriate for a "pvp" tournament.
People will still sign up, but you basically made this a grind/lottery instead of a competition.

To be honest even if the selection was made on a first come first served basis there should have been a reasonable time limit. they should say "ok the first 3 teams from Bartz that register will secure the places". However they left registrations open so you can register until the 18th. im sure that 3 teams were registered in the first day or two. so what was the point of keeping registrations open even after making the deadline earlier? ALSO!!! they made us choose our team not being based on level and gear. So i chose to use an iss of lower level that i knew he can play very well iss but misses gear and level. AND NOW they make us fight with our own gear etc for ONE spot at the battle tournament. This is unheard of. Waiting to hear from the GMs.

Was thinking the same thing since PST= pacific standard time that is gmt -8 but right now the states are in daylight saving time which means that the west coast is at PDT= pacific daylight time that is gmt -7 and it could be a typo the whole PST but could mean teams getting there a whole hour late and losing.

The event server will not be open before the Battle Tournament. When it does start, we will give you guys some time to set up macros and what not.
I know this is off the topic but I am one of the old players that played this game back in 2005. I played in WarTelos but I am stopping by.. Downloading the game right now. Im going to check it out for a little bit and try getting into it for a while. Could anyone please tell me what server is good to play on now days that has lots of players.. activity.. and so on?

Important: The current list of teams participating in the tournament will be changed on Friday due to a number of teams that were disqualified. New teams are being contacted now.

Um, just watch any server video. The only team that had auto directional follow/targetting. LOL, They had brass balls. HUGE. I mean when you look at the video. There was no question at all. GJ NCjuji thats all i can say. Finally it wasn't won by the program.

I have talked to juji some about this and he said there is no way, but possibly take away the resrictions on the names dist so we can see people from a farther distance. Cant see the fight from one point of view from this. I have talked to several peopel who said its possible, but NC would have to edit a file to do this on their client. dunno what else to say to fix this one issue. talk to the tech guys and see if theyhave a fix for the GM possibly?

so i dont understand why team Genocide are still in the tournament when half their member are on chronos and the other half on magmeld... they should be disqualified.

For the gold names, are they awarded to the people fighting or the people in the list. For example, if a person from the reserve fights every match, will they get their gold name or they won't because they were originally listed as reserve?
Yes that is a very short sighted attitude to have. Obviously the main 7 will have something worked out to compensate the alts, that or the alts are friends who aren't greedy and don't care about getting anything(which was in our case).
Great matches today btw, some were very close see-saw battles and some were predictable. ;)
No skills that have more than a 10 minute CD should be reset during countdown.
you want to make a battle tournament and see who is the best teams but its not fair if you abuse double skills in which you know that will get reset.
i am sure there were plently of teams that didnt want to risk a 'DQ' by abusing any skills before it hit the last count down.
you restart a match because someone jumps the gun before the match - how is that different from someone using an offensive skill such as Battle Rhapsody which in any fight that you could have in the actual game - there is only one BR and one counter for it.
This would change everything about the tournament meaning every class can double up on their skills - tank ud, healer ud, DD's offensive buffs etc
its just dumb imo but everyone has their own
oh yeah and for those that talk about DDs using double skill as well, we cant see that because the POV is a healer's and the only way we could see someone doubling such thing, it have to be a party skill :)

because in most of the matches, it clearly says on everyones screen
"do not start before the countdown finishes" and NC capitalized this by deleting everyones buffs before the fight, and allowing only salvation to be re-casted before the skill timers were reset. No mention of BR or any other skill was made
which obviously means, you don't use BR and start running towards your opponants!
this already caused a difference in 1 match and will screw up the rest of the fights as well.
It should be a rematch for them, and a clear establishment that you cannot even MOVE before the start of the fight. NCFailed here.
MrTish from team Enmity was disqualified for accidentally teleporting outside of the arena, which was done AFTER he had already survived for 5 minutes. You can check the time on the recorded video. This same teleporting out of an arena has occurred on two previous battle tournament fights. GMs failed to correctly time fights and then decide to DQ something that was ignored on two previous occasions. It was obvious it was not intentional, he got right back into the arena. The arenas suck anyways, I can agree with intentionally using the outside to win to result in a DQ... but otherwise no with how things are. The 1v1 fights should of been in an Olympiad arena, not an overly large open field.
This same incorrect time keeping caused Eynel to receive a death, instead of getting a draw. Doomcaster was left to fight for almost 6 minutes.

Another annoying thing is people's ability to exploit the skill reset during the count down. Casting BR/Salvation early and having another. Players should have always been canceled before their fight. This "exploit" was a very unclear possibility to players, if people knew this was allowed they would strategize to use this. Fights would of been a lot different.

if BR was reset before the fight, and the DiegoVargas team Enchanter CS was not reset (it wasn't), the match should be reset, and the rules clearly established

Go to 03:01:35. I used my UE and Counterstrike to defend myself versus the warrior, and both of my FRESH skills disappeared when the archer ported in? We beat the other team regardless, but at least make it clear in your rules.
If I had known that my UE and Counterstrike get reset/deleted, then I wouldn't have jumped on the archer like an idiot and kited out his UE. I would have pooped on that archer.

luke u forgot to say , they took lot time to DQ mrtrish and let tank come in arena again , so the tank got from half hp left to full hp/some cp and his skill rdy (u can see from fraps he use party UD at start of the next pvp)

because to some they delete the buffs before starting and to others they let them keep the buff. as someones already said, its like starting with party ud double cast+wizard spirit, ultimate evasion, giants favor, berserk, boost and whatever you can name and have them reset when the match starts, for double skill usage. is it fair?
i also found unfair that mrtish was dq'ed, even if the mistake wasnt penalized in the past matches now it is. on top of that the message was send after finished those 5 mins.

3 or 4 post talk about today BT? and how answer from gm? u are right on alll , and the best are , they dont care about this tournament , and not from today , they dont care before it even started , because if they care would ask to played about suggestion on gear/class , they just made it weak at max to let it finish fast (1healer/no armor bonus/jewels based/no talisman/no SA on weap/no OE skill/arena/how to do 1vs1 right ....
I guess only the cool people don't get disqualified for accidents?
This is not an exploit, but an issue with the arena walls. We have seen players accidentally blink/get pushed out in a few matches and when it does, the player is quickly ported back into the arena. The Battle Tournament arena walls are meant to keep players from moving outside of battle. We observed this match from many angles and viewed this player blinking out as an accident.
FIVE reasons to grant rematches to team x0a and Enemity (and whomever requests it)
1) Rez Bug
2) different rules applied to teams on "out of bounds"
3) Buffs on summoner pet of dismiss UNALLOWED
4) double br.
5) ISHMILA never died in the second 7v7
The teams that lost from your clan/server deserve clearly a rematch in your mind and the other 2 teams that won..... nah they don't need to rematch. this alone shows how objective and emotionally involved you are. Get over it grow up take your loss like a man.

I'm certain that if there was exploits or GM errors (most of this stuff is gm error) on any other matches, anyone would support rematches on those as well, if they made the difference in the fight. I can tell you for sure I would.
I fully support Enmity having a rematch. Do I want them to win? Absolutely not. I would prefer my enemies (Enmity) not have nice things and shiney toys. I would much rather a naia team have them, because I play Chronos. But do they deserve it? Absolutely yes, same for DV party.

We should wait the countdown for selfbuffs (which means that we could use skills when the "5" appeared) and we had to wait the end of cooldown to move and attack the other.

They were many others things wrong if you want to consider this one "w/e" please address the fact the summoner in the 1v1 had enchanter buffs on his pets and that the fight was called "finished" before all the party members were dead.

They also were very insistent in people turning their forces off after they draw a match, I guess technically sonatas aren't forces so they don't count?
And hey, is ok if everyone that tried to rez during the match couldn't, as long as cyro could after the red circles/match status were out of the way. It's all just a big conspiracy of players agreeing on tanking their own matches by faking inability to rez. =(

I can imagine running battle tournament is actually pretty stressful and time consuming on the NCSoft staff and I suspect they would not like to go against any calls they've made up until this point. I do not at all expect them to admit today's matches went wrong enough for rematches and expect the semi-finals to proceed on as is. With this good luck! Would have been nice to give your team a better run for its money. :)

I guess my CP's leader won't be happy of me saying it, but let's be honest we were as surprised as you regarding this DQ of your Feoh and we thought as you that it was a draw and we both lost one character.
I can understand why you can ask a rematch, but as you guess we are also happy about this result and fighting in the semi finals.
And trust me, you gave us really nice 1vs1 and you gave us a good run for our money. We didn't expect Masmerio to manage it so nicely (since he is main Wynn and is doing olympiad as Wynn), and your feoh indeed played extremly well against our tank.
@cinna / MightyDD : Yes several things went wrong. I didn't saw that dismiss's pet still had sonata (while it may be possible) but I guess Ishmila can post a screen or a fraps, while GMs can just check logs
Why were the teams forced to choose only 1 of each class but are allowed to use skills as if there are 2 of that class in the party .
There seems to be a contradiction to the way the BT was supposed to be played and the on-the-fly changes to the rules because of secret private message conversations with the GMs .
After todays matches it was obvious they didnt mean the BR to be used this way. The GM said: So the teams will be debuffed, skills reset then they can start buffing. There will not be another skill reset at the point, no second buffs will be performed. (screenshot can be provided if wanted)
All these teams are asking is a fair chance to 3rd and 4th place.
The GM's said in emails they will explain everything after today's matches. Since that was all that I wanted, a fair response from the GM's and they will address the issue I thank everyone who voiced their opinions, for or against the situation since it opened the discussion and gave the issue the relevance that it was due.
well, it's still terrible and bad management that there was no DQ of dismiss or rematch at a minimum
but at least the GM's addressed the exploits and prevented their further abuse

U am entitled to my opinion, but it seems that NC soft agreed with me and said dont double BR today... rofl. SO... when we are right and NC soft refuses to rematch? just curious why we had to rematch against sectors group after a week.
Good to know that we should get a rematch since NC is Fair . They entertained Sectors group in a rematch, just like how it would be proper for them to entertain us for a rematch .
Also i would like to add, is there a reason Cryo is pming teams information thats not provided to everyone publically? sounds like personal help there, and since no help today from cryo the team dismiss lost BOTH 7v7, and the day before they lost the first 7v7 with no double BR ... just saying the only 7v7 they won was with double BR, AND we couldnt rez..... double wammy :)
Yeah some stupid stuff happened during this battle Tournament. It's for sure known. A member of the NCSoft staff has also agreed saying some things were unfair. It's cool we got a battle tournament in the first place, but it was hosted pretty horribly. A lot of things were not thought of.
Concerning all this unhappyness NC will address its players disappointment by sweeping this all under the rug. That's why none have responded to anything on the forums thus far. If you feel certain things are unfair as Cryo told Lootness in my party, "Too Bad."
I can only say it would be cool if they did another battle tournament in a year from now having learned from their mistakes of trying to present a "fair competition." Hopefully it would still have the same now experienced game staff, before they all quit/get fired off... which happens to NCSoft NA pretty often.

Only reason i participated in this event was for the Gold name, and to be cheated out of it because of incompetence/ poor management is pretty lol.
Is a good begin, the interation between game masters and all servers.
League of Legends have the "league" with live stream and with comentary of lol staff. In next tournments try put a people spend comments while battle occurs.
Try make rules and don't change rules while tournment run. The modification of ress made a strong and direct impact in teams with 2 healers and consequently in the strategy of initial party formation groups.
Transfer the "enchant skills", "weapons" and "armors" from regular server to battle tournment don't prove to players what is the best team of Lineage, only show the top money spend people.
If possible made a two different types of torunament "regular people champ" and "special people champ".
- Regular people champ: R99 set + Weapon (2sa) + all jewells (include boss) [all equips without enchants or elements] and no enchant skills.
- Special people champ: include all equips from regular servers include +15 weapons and +10 sets and +10 armors and +10 skills.
- Regular people champ rewards: Nothing, the people champ is only the people champ, best players of Lineage.
- Special people champ: Give good rewards for this people.
Don't forget this: don't change rules of tournament while the tournament is run.
