In all my years in the game industry this has to be the craziest conspiracy theory I've ever heard (and that says a lot because I've heard some real winners). We hate bots. We ban bots. But as with all free-to-play games, it is hard to keep unwanted elements out. That doesn't mean we're not trying; there are plans in motion.
The game is overloaded of people with this "craziest conspiracy theory" or our community manager need review their concepts about bots?
No matter what they take away from me... they can't take away my dignity!
No matter what the script users do I know deep inside I will not lower myself to their levels and NCSoft will continue to do what they can to cleanse their servers of this plague... each of us can look into ourselves and demand from ourselves the strength to overcome the temptations of Shilien! Only then will the evil be abated.
Stopping the ranger program is not that hard to be frank and honest with you..they just have to change how the networking section of the game functions and encrypt, or mash/scramble the data information transferred to and from the server.. would add some overhead to the game itself and it would perform slightly slower but i think the ends justify the means. This is like wishing for the Calgary flames to win the Stanley cup however cause ncwest has 0 programming resources it seems.
They could also section the packet stream with random dividing packets over N bits of information and run an MD5 over the data, and send that md5 to the client side for compare..this would allow them to know if the packets have been injected, or screwed with in any given fashion, hence detecting a bot program mashing the keys. As i say though, very hard for ncsoft to do anything they are to handycapped by there management to actually program anything.. and fyi..this is all entirly legal, no privacy concern here.

It's not also hard prevent "t" to work in the server , since they need an "exe" which is not the "main folder" exe , they must create a new one doing a copy, i guess will be enough remove the file "bin" that was the old "exe" , or prevent it from work somehow (they can bug 200 things and make it not works and start and they can't do it for bots? lol)
They are nothing more than a press secretary that relay's messages given to them and or put out fires... They do not have any real power when it comes to the game and moderation of what happens in game. When are some of you going to get that, and stop flooding threads with the same stuff day after day. It's not Vali's fault that the GM team dose't give a ****, they only go by the information fed to them.

That wont work and is no good because it requires file system access on the client side. Its not allowable in the united states.. hence is ill-eagle.
Nearly anything is allowable if you accept the terms. Your defense is to click cancel on the EULA not play Lineage 2.
I sent you a PM, answere it or face death by demonic plague
On a sidenote, imagine all 3rd pt program users(No matter what they might use) face a ban.
The servers would be all ghost towns, NCSoft wouldnt make a profit from it.
I know a few who play on autopilot, they do it cuz they can and when i ask what if you get banned? They say, then i just end my L2 career.
I guess the majority went to the dark side simply because its easier to exp and they are so fed up with the game that they just dont care, tho if they get the char high enough it can result in a nice ammount of $$$.

Also common misconception. The U.S. law does have the legal provisions to prevent unfair contracts by making some of the clauses or the entire contract void. So the exclusion clauses do not guarantee safety for the company.
Tho in this particular case I don't see any reason why any court would void it. Maybe NCSoft did though but I'm quite sure we wont get straight answer on the subject anyway.
Back ontopic: I do believe in Vali. He's nice, cuddly and he's riding a pony!

there is barely anything changed in this direction since long time ago, what makes you think they will do it now? hell, they search for answers and solutions in 3rd party software like GG or other crap but they don't see the big picture, exactly what you have described.

the solution is simple, just go back to the old process where you would get perma banned after 3 major offenses..
something like this:
1. 1 week ban
2. 1 month ban
3. perma
and no joke we really had this system for like 6 months or so and ppl actually got banned even during sieges for 3rd party pvp soft.
now you can complain and say it should be perma ban for cheat0rz right away but then yeah you would lose a huge chunk of players who right now thinks they're untouchable but even the dumbest player will realize after the 2nd temp ban that GSU (Game Surveillance Unit) actually sees more then they let on and how many players are really going to risk a perma ban after receiving 2 warnings ???
of course certain offenses will still result in a straight perma ban but bot/script use when given warnings will drop hardcore cause ppl only use them ringht now cause they think nobody cares/can or will deal with it..

I don't think Vali has time or the energy to make up lies to feed these forums. He answers to someone and that someone likely tells him how to respond to certain topics or issues.
All I see is pouting and the persons who get blamed are forum admins and that's just someone you can point the finger at nothing more.

I think we all need to consider this statement...
I agree with you, Vali will not appear here to feed this forum.
But you need agree the complete lack of character from our staff.
Lies like "we ban bots / we hate bots", some times stay in silence is the best protection (and our staff use it a lot of time). Vali made a mistake, he never can say who he can't do.
