Not gonna happen, because steam will not allow gameguard being loaded, since gameguard is a rootkit. And NCSoft will not let go of gameguard (for whatever reason) either.
Also, asian games usually do not use steam because steam aren't as popular over there. This is changing somewhat, but Asian game makers are also control freaks and will not want to put their game's release in someone else's hands....
I would love for it to be on steam, not that it matters that much: I disagree with you on the prediction that steam = more players. The game is well known enough by now, it's the management and certain game elements that remain unpopular that is driving away players new and old alike.
Unless they can solve one of the main issues with the game: bots. New players will be scared away the instant they see a zone *FULL* of bots.
But TERA is not a P2W game as L2 and newer players simply hate click to move gameplay for a 3D game. The only exception is top-down view games such as LoL, Diablo or Lineage 1 - top-down view + click to move still hasn't aged.
I've seen lots of players on another forums that tried L2 after the F2P but quit right after realizing the lack of WASD gameplay.

Hopefully no more bots in the future and VAC incoming:D
that's ancient, lineage 2 was on steam back in like 2010 or whatever. Meaning you could buy a cdkey off steam, not play through steam, and it was out of necessity, cause pretty much no brick and mortar shops carried l2 subscription packs.
notice how the article you 're linking references Hellbound, Chaotic Chronicle etc ;)

"Launching the MMOs on Steam will broaden their visibility and give the games access to Steam’s cloud servers and auto-updates, as well as make it easier for users to purchase expansions."
I am unsure how VAC (Valve Anti Cheat) work, but will we receive a new protection against bots etc?
If not.. will the game be in any way connected to VAC?
Basically I (and everyone else I am sure) want to know if this is just a way to atract both old and new players (marketing), or if it will have any impact on all the cheats that are around.
Thanks :o
And yeah that page is not available for Europe it seems, just copy the link, google, and view the cached website if any of you want to see how it looks.
I quit l2 because I dont have enought real Money to buy roses, boosts and packs from l2store.
And this game is all about win using your wallet.
My last siege I was with a +9 robe in my healer and I could not stay alive on siege field due to enemy script. I got instant targeted several times.
If you dont have money you quit.
If you dont have script you quit.
If you dont have +4 hour/day to play you quit.
If you dont have a cp to xp/farm itens you quit.
Before think how to grab more people to play l2 what about think how to dont loose l2 lover players first?
Happy l2 players bring more players.
Unhappy l2 players make others to quit as well. How many times you saw a clan leader stop to play and a like a domino effect like 1/3 of clannies stop to play as well.
