Oh boy! Didn't know NCwest has in it with them to do this but ye handsoff to you guys if you do pull this off in one go! Prioritize the new anti-bot first IMHO Helios update and merge will be pointless if people are still gonna be running around pvping with "Look Ma No hands" gameplay lol
Anti-Bot - I have little hope of working, but there's still a chance, which is awesome! No more virus like Gainak trains and auto skill/target in siege/oly. I mean really, I bet the core script groups that control the servers and make people quit actually buy less ncoin than most other players (though they will buy it for adena).
Server Merge - Will hopefully bring new life to the dead servers and potentially bring back old players to claim their names.
No Events to focus on updates - AMAZING, hopefully there won't be as many bug slip through as the last few updates.
To be honest I was expecting Scripts, bugs/lack of testing and constant over draining of player cash to kill L2 by the end of the year.... if you manage to fix at least a few of those you might see the golden goose spring back to life a little!! :D
Before installing the update Helios on the live servers, you will not conduct an open beta test? :p
+1 to this, a test server would help expose a lot of bugs and you get a "free" QA workforce, however I'm guessing there's big hidden costs in there stopping you doing this?

Chances are it won't even work against bots, so I doubt it. Chances are their idea of anti-bot is nerfing something that will only hurt normal players.

I dont mind changing the race... heck if i can separate my dual class now for reasonable money id do it... reason i want that is because ncsoft is trying to kill off mages with the recent updates... especially Sayha's Seer... but thats another topic. I dont mind loosing the sayha class during the transfer dual to main

Well Korea had an event a few years ago where you could "gift" your Dual class to other players aka split off from your current NC Account into a complete fresh new one, maybe Juji can offer something like that for all Ertheia players.
That event was a paid service so not free but neither will this Main/Dual swap be for free so nothing new there :)

Pick something? Sorry, but this is worst suggestion ever. Some of us play in a spesific timezone and chose server according to that. If they pick something randomly, and is completely different from what we are, we are forced to either play at 3-4am or pay for transfer.

I know this isn't an official answer, but when they've merged before your 7 highest level characters will remain. For example, if you have 8 level 99s on one account then the highest %'ed one's will remain. So if seven of them are at 99 and 50% or more, and one of them is 99 and 10% then say bye bye to that one.

Maestros, Domi, and Seers are the 3 you cant change to, they have been from the beginning, you either start out as one or you dont become one, any one of those 3 cant do dual to main anyway, so if you dont want to be a seer anymore, you'll have to reroll, and its still funny to me that this patch, which i have been saying since seer's started running around ganking in hide all day long and hitting for 2-3k in oly and hiding the rest of the match, your day will come when they nerf that bs, and you will QQ hard. the day has come and the QQ is strong.

it's simple economics though, servers need to have at least a certain amount of active players that pay for the upkeep to stay alive and none of the 3 servers have a player base that seems to hit that break even point but a merged version will.
btw even when all 3 are merged it will "only" have more or less the same amount of active players as Chronos & Zaken so nothing that special or exciting imo..
if you played long enough then you will remember we've had at least 3 rounds of server mergers before and I'm sure this will go the same way as when Chronos & Naia server were created.
if you want to make a good server, simply remove the bot forever. it makes no sense to make an anti bot that is only for a week.
you are putting together different servers, schedules, players, clans. they have to adapt again have to give a good reason to do so.
server Korean, Russian, core, have servers with 5/7 thousand people, the game is the same one the administration is different.
you might have server with many people, old players ask, are waiting for this new anti bot to play again.
i believe in ncsoft, i believe in juji you will do a good job. but do not forget if you want to lift these servers the solution is not new events, merge servers, simply make effective antibot.
lost much sense as pvp, sieges, Olympiads, instances, can not compete with a robot and this game is made for people. people get bored taking damage 50 people together. not being able to use a simple skill because 90% of people have bot, anti hide and other advantages.
I hope this time is final, many people like me have been waiting for this day. where winning is by own merit .... not the bot

IMO tempest stones are a completely broken item. You need to invest CRAZY amounts of money to get even a chance to get a handful. The majority of them on the servers came from events... that should tell you something right there.
Their use in alchemy is nonsense, especially given the absolutely abysmal failure rate on higher level crafting.
They also need to be consumed to get other items that are useful/needed like the windy talismans and luc/cha dyes. Like the tempest stones themselves, most of both of those items came from events.
I get the need for higher monetary investment in alchemy, but this item is very poorly designed. They should come from normal alchemy (not requiring elcyum) at the current rate you get them with elcyum, and adding elcyum should boost the chances of getting them significantly.
In addition the luc/cha dyes should have some other means of obtaining them in game (like add them to raid drops, or spoils somewhere). I'd nominate replacing the modify armor/weapon scrolls with these and adding those scrolls to the mentee coin rewards.

The biggest factors merge problems are worrying about the same clan names, characters, clan hall, castle and disable heroes of coc / olympiads (1 month before the merge).
and not to forget the good schedule(GMT) for most players
and of course solve the problem of adena / bots that would be in only one server

Half Shilen is Greeks, most of them never really played their toon, let alone vote in a poll.The other 100 ppl are from Latin America, those are more likely to vote in such a poll.Bartz and Magmeld are mostly from US timezones too, soooooo make a guess what timezone the new server will be :)

I remember back in time when played hindemith server and castle sieges used to be splited -4 castles on Saturday and 4 on Sunday
the Sunday started 0h my time at night and the saturday started 2-4 am and I was still going cause was a student but now maybe will miss it if the time is too bad :P

My question now is what is the benefits of changing Dual class to Main? I am one of the ones that wanted this in the past and talking with others has made me question why in the first place. Is the only benefit being able to fight in Oly?

but that is info from 2008, now main and dual both can lvl unrestricted so the only real benefit I see is that one could compete in Oly and become hero. I'm not knocking the service as I did want this I'm just weighing the benefits of this in todays current game state.

thanksThe Dual to Main Class service still needs to be implemented into our website first, so I cannot give a firm date at this time. I can give some details on the service:
There is no race or gender change with this service except if you have a Kamael class.
(E.g. for main: male Kamael, dual: If the divided character is a Yul Trickster, the appearance of the dual class will be that of a Kamael female)
All skill enchants on the dual class will be reset during the process.
Ertheia cannot use this service.
Players who have Hero status cannot apply for this service.
If you have a Healer Dual Class with existing Pomander items, then you cannot use this service.
Items in the inventory stay with the Main character.
Dual Class skills on the Main character are reset and certificates are deleted.
After using the service, the Dual Class quest will need to be completed again.

This is a dumb question but the wording is kind of weird (to me anyway):
So if I have a main class lvl 100 Summoner and a dual class lvl 100 ISS and I use this service

Afaik, drop rates have constantly been decreased as a result of 0 bot protection software. If you are serious about a new anti bot, there should be 0 reasons to increase drop rates across the board to what they should be.

best smart way with this if the new system works is to temp ban all for 14 days to get the message across that a new age has started and next time just 30 day or perma ban.

Yeah, but first should be a little more balance in classes... now all is wrong, making HP cap at 30k+ with some classes dealing lol old chronicle dmg, archers one hitting ebayer bots with +20 eq, nukers dealing 500k dmg.. all classes having more dmg, agro, hp and def than tanks. Healers and iss with 10 celestials with low reuse and more dmg than some normal fighting classes, enchants with lame chance and costing billions that only bots and no lifers make...ironic but true and that should be first thing to change plus all the bots out.
PS bots are one thing, but we wont get rid of players that ruin the market making cosmic prices just so not to many people would make better eq or chars to be of any oposition to them.

90% of legit population will come back and will replace the 90% of population you mentioned. And i bet more than that. People that left this game cause of bots and scripting will come back. There is nothing to do about "win" or "lose". Its all about fair play.

I wouldn't expect any event until 12th Anniversary, which itself will be a big event like last year's 11th Anniversary.
