That's one way to stop automation. Maybe you can keep it turned off and have inquiring users send in a resume directly to your email for approval! Of course your spam filter would have a field day. Forward the denied emails to Amazon.com! They love coders with automation talent!
On a side note, I'm curious how many genuine users actually join this game in a given day. 1-10? 50? Not including alts.
lets guess if someone from ncsoft will wake up not only at sellable daily rewards, but also sellable S shots ppl get at 76, and then adena reward in pailaka.
nice but what about the 100's of bots in Pavel Ruin in the pits on all servers .I did a 5min run there and got 1.3 mill ad from drops and gold .so them there 100's of bots are getting the same. thats 374.4 million a day 24/7 each

Hmm...The day before yesterday on August/9th/2016 I made a new character in my main account and was able to play...Yeah I had the problem creating a new character, I simply couldn't type any letters...At first, I thought it was just another bug so I tried some stuff...(not gonna say anything in detail but no 3rd party program! LOL) and it worked. Well, since I WASN'T supposed to create a new character, should I go delete my new level 59 now? Nice update by the way. Now anyone can do steel door coin quests not just as main but for all their subs! Yep that's right, Steel door quests are repeatable! and I really like those Paulina's gears, too.

This was a very good idea. New players who create a character, then give up again after an hour or two because they can't do their quests due to all the bots and then write nasty comments on Steam etc. are of no use to you. Better work on getting a good reputation as a company that deals with problems :)
Talking about dealing with problems, now there is no more reason not to exterminate the vermin infesting the Pavel Ruins and the Garden of Genesis. Clean up the servers from the top down!

In all Asian territories you need a Resident Registration Number resp. ID card to make an account. In a multinational territory like NCWest that's a bit difficult to implement - you can't really expect hired help to distinguish an authentic Lithuanian passport from a forged one. But requiring a hand-written resume in proper English, with included photo, graduation certificates, bank statements that show a regular salary etc., sent by registered letter to

Ban those healers also who use some script for auto refresh prophecy on the party members, and also those players who use radar to find they enemys // find raids who just spawned.

Juji please start the permanent bann against these cheaters, you give them the chance for 1-2-3 time, but they not learned.
If possible make 85+ raids /epic/dragon w/e every boss spawn random or at least give them some hour window.

Will you ever do anything about the bots reported in fairies?? That ImperialWarriorz(clan name) HeinekenAlly (ally name) has been there for months on end, and they get no punishment at all? You can click that report button a thousand times and never get any type of action on the ones you report. Still there in exactly the same spot.

You don't want in. There are a gajillion bots everywhere that will just frustrate you. Go play Tera or WoW until this gets cleaned up.
I used to play L2 10 years ago, for quite some time until Bots became bad and overtook the game. Seems that's still the issue now. However, Like the person above me, I'm trying to bring a friend into the game but can't create a toon. An ETA would be lovely ^~^

Yeah... Not trying to second guess every single thing you guys do to counter the bot problem... but why do all your (failed) solutions always seem to involve inconveniencing/harming/screwing over legit players?
I know you can't give away all your trade secrets as to not expose security risks to the botters... but dang, every time you guys make a move against them (0 have been successful in 12 years) you always seem to harm your ACTUAL player base. The people who actually play the game and spend money on it.
Just my .02 on this character creation matter.
And for those wondering, yes, it bothers me too. I make toons often for clan rep, exp bonus, and to combat the constant boredom associated with a dying game filled with so many afk people.

haha good ol days of L2SEA the first official server I played in and I was perma-paladin hero back then.. One of the first players to finish dynasty set as well and couple of days after they sent this...
Hi all, i think that one solution can be a restriction account, only one account for ip adress or something like this.
i dont think that the solution its return to pay to play, in other mmo like wow there are some bots too and its not the fault of players that love lineage 2 and cant pay for play.

The Name Change Service benefits scammers and purchasers of pre-leveled characters, especially since the changed names are no longer publicly posted. This would be a good opportunity to completely abolish that service.

Soo legit players have to suffers always the problem of botting things...rly guys all action always affects normal players who try to get through playing legit and have fun in game...wut is the point of this new event while u add boost runes in l2store and ppl just cant use it...i needed to create my pve char and take the advantage of those boost runes to get my *** leveled quik and hell ya u alrdy affecting ur donation...either rerolling this event or there is no point to make it

Im a new player on retail, Ive played many years in varius pvp x100 servers and in many of them, to cut the bot issue... have just add a simple in game pin code (like the one you have to enter at the login) for the char below certain lvl.
Every tot mins (like 30mins) a pop up come out and you have to fast digit the code (5 second time) or you just get disconnect, for legit players maybe is annoyng but stay put guys is a very effective method

Is it too complex to just add a CAPTCHA ( Turing Test ) to the character creation process?
I know it wouldn't solve the problem completely, but it would require manual human intervention in order to create a new char.

yes please, came back from a long time without playing l2 looking forward seeing the state of the game and the new patch and no way to create char in either server :(
Best friend and I came back after being gone like 6 years to deleted characters and the inability to make new chars on otherwise empty accounts.
This is a real disappointment and I hope they at least let players know when chars can be created again. The couple chars we have that were not deleted are ok for now but this really takes away about 95% of the excitement we had since installing.
I've watched countless games crash and burn in recent years and L2, you're better than this. Just because it's 2016 doesn't mean you need to be the next MMO to fall flat like the Division... or PokemonGo... or No Man's Sky....

I used to play L2 long time ago (like 10 years or so). Then just dropped it for some reason. Recently I have read few fantasy books (you know - elves, dwarves etc) and had this urge to play as one of these. So I came here on Sunday, downloaded game, patched, logged in and... Can't make character. :D Awesome!:D
Been reading this forum for a few days now and Im not really sure if I want to play it again lol.
When will a new player be able to create a character been waiting since the post went up and still nothing,got a msg my account was activated had to punch in a verification code that was sent through via email and still NOTHING...BS
Automated users are getting feisty! I say keep it closed forever so we can enjoy reading what these newly created forum accounts have to say from the deep core of their hearts.
Would someone really come here and bellow like a baby elephant because they can't create an account? There are a gajillion other free and better games out there that they could pass their time. Go rent a tandem bicycle and take your girlfriend out on a nice ride. Fresh air!
In the meantime, give Juji more time to review server logs so that the anti-automation algorithm can be upgraded. Good times are ahead!

Just because there are bots doesn't mean this game isn't the best memories I and other users have of gaming. ...and your point about this being a free to play game has some merit, but as a PAYING customer of this and several other NC games, I feel some consideration should be made for some of their oldest and strongest supporters. I've payed for subscriptions, special editions, NC Coins and the rest. There's no reason to keep players like myself from making characters on accounts which have already given NC -hundreds- of dollars.

I barely buy ncoins cause it's too expensive for me, so i rely on commerce to get by and gear up in the game. I have almost all my adena invested in fortune pockets right now and since character creation was disabled i'm not selling a single pocket.
I get that you're trying to do something about bots and all efforts are greatly appreciated, but this measures are really affecting me and a lot of other players in many diferent ways.
I hope you find a way around all this really soon. This is not the way at all.

Hello JuJi, can you tell us aprox the time when we can create new chars? about a week? a month? now this free of bots/spammers game its a heaven of grinding, especially in low areas, including the event weapons/items, but let us somehow a window for creating chars, once per week 1-2 day. thx.
That actually might be a good solution. Have a day for character creation once a week or every two weeks. Maybe even only every 1st and 15th day of the month. Always keep it at the top of the news articles on the main Lineage2.com page, so new players know about it. If some bots are created, you ban them in the next day or two and that way the game stays clean most of the time.
Its so quiet w/o spamers and bots...character creation should remain close.
Speaking of spamers....I would make an automatic account ban if a char receive more then 300 blocks/week from other ppl. In fact, it doesnt matter what this guy did...if he receive 300 blocks its clear he bother other ppl.:D
It's not quiet! It's exactly the same but as a paying customer for 12 years I now cant create a too? That's BS!! Maybe stop acct creation for a short time, but characters? STUPID! Unlike most of you saying good job, I actually had to BUY my acct and I cant even make a toon on it? Need mentee coin and was gonna level a buffer w/ all these free stuff and cheap runes but can't! I can't stand in giran without my screen getting filled with shout garbage, I get a pm and don't even have time to read it. Charge 10$ for a new acct and do your job banning bots, problem solved, it's not that hard!

You care, you took the time to respond to my views. Bots in low level areas have no impact on my game play. Blocking me from creating a character directly effects my game play. Yes, I do hate he spam in town but the legit's spam is equally as bad so nc's solution is a total fail.

Yeah, that's what's ******* me off so much. It's nothing new though. It has always been like this on Hinde (prolly on all other servers, too). People just need to be high enough and have nice gear. How they got it is irrelevant. Everyone can know them to be blatant cheaters but clans will take them in and defend them since it's 'been a while since they did that'. Hey it benefits them so of course it's okay. If you say something about that you'll get ad hominem flames or other stupidity as an answer...

Well the probelm of this hes a boat,this guy botted before is just bull [censored]. You can see him boating in the video so he should be clanless enough said about that, But take it a step further. People using boating up 2 boxes i wont say names but i seen alot of legit ppl using these 2 boxes lately, this is almost as bad as boating. If you want ppl to kick boats from clan then dont have boating ses, pps recharging you and helping you lvl out of party, game just gets worst with this kinda stuff.

I do my best not to. Unfortunately, there's no way to disallow my buy store from them.
I barely buy ncoins cause it's too expensive for me, so i rely on commerce to get by and gear up in the game. I have almost all my adena invested in fortune pockets right now and since character creation was disabled i'm not selling a single pocket.
I get that you're trying to do something about bots and all efforts are greatly appreciated, but this measures are really affecting me and a lot of other players in many diferent ways.
I hope you find a way around all this really soon. This is not the way at all.

Bots will be bots. All they have to do now is a little more botting, that's it. On the other hand, a new player can't ask anything to anyone unless he has a friend playing or after sending a friend request to some random dude who probably doesn't even speak the same language and is going to decline it anyway.
I know it's hard to do a real effort to erradicate bots and adena sellers, but this JUST WON'T WORK. You guys didn't thought this thru.

There has been literally 100 or so New members to the forum
in the past 5 weeks.
Most trying to make us believe NcSoft is incompetent when it comes to RMT Bots.
30% of these Elpys' have a creation date over 5 years old.
Now we have a few Elpys wanting the Avatar Creation Reactivated.
I would say 70-90% of these Elpys are not New Players wanting to play.
We will just have to be patient and Help NcSoft clean this up as much as we can.
We Hate to lose a new Player, But its better to rid ourselves of the Trash before we can let a Legit New Avatar in.

Bummer. Havent played in almost a decade. None of my characters exist anymore, and I cannot create a character. At lease this game is consistent after all of these years.

Ncsoft just have to update their gameguard. Ncsoft is the only one server with bot.
I tried lineage2 core, and its free of bots, just because they are using a real gameguard.

Someone suggested L2 Core and I just started to play there since I guess there's no real difference in game itself and they allow to make characters lol. But sadly I must say that new chronicles ruined this game for me. I feel like dwarves and supports are useless and there's no need in creating new ones.

From what I have read on the forums, it seems that L2 website is great at stopping monetary transactions; throttling. If the designers of this game implemented the same ideals on the login servers...

The spawned mobs aren't stored on the DB, only the spawnlist and monster definitions.
Just add one simple boolean property to the object that hold information about spawned mobs with a name isInvencible and on constructor of the object set to true if there's no spawned mob on that spawnzone.

Thousand of post about the bots, and this remind me an private server that i used to play that the Admin/Dev had abandoned his own server and the players was QQ on forum about bug and update. Everyone know that the solutions will not come from 232349942342 systems of fighting the bots but from the human present on the game. 2 GM's in each server 24/7 has solved the problem. The rest are just a way to spend the time.

You notice that I start the login server , again full of BOTS everywhere , the only good thing is still not up CARROTS so something along of what they leave , nice way to ruin the event.
I was trying to make a quest to get level 70 for my toon in a zone with swarm of bots and ofc I ks mobs from bots, because I was trying to finish quest that day. That was a mistake because bots owner came and killed me( a 99+ character). The question is: how can I compete with that guy? Why Ncsoft let him exploit adena like this?
the game reach a point where ncwest cant clean the mess, just check the videos from some ertheia on youtube, from a small period of time he manage to go from 1b adena to 70b adena, spend 8 tries with kaliel longing in a roll.

u guyz are mad about the rangerscripts i get it, but the problem is way bigger than that. if ncwest ll start perma ban ppl just not for bot but from violate the game rules, the community ll be close to 1k from all servers combined.

Buying adena, buying black market gear, r hell, even ncoin. The only difference between those 3 is the amount that goes in ncsofts pocket. I had more fun when the scripts were here. Flame me all ya want but at least there was pvp, now there's lame Dim siege and mass pvp every other sunday. I enjoy what I can for now but I fear the end isn't too far away. At 104, there simply is nothing worth doing anymore. I see more and more people leveling low level toonsto do old raids with cuz their mains are too high. The majority of boss jewls come from $$$ now, not the boss it self. Thats RMT, is it not?

There is still PvP, has been for awhile. It just tends to be all lower levels going until someone logs in their main, calls in friends, etc and puts an end to it.
Beyond that, yes, Parn is the most "active" PvP area outside of sieges.
I do agree about open field XP... it's just not worth it. GC and Superion are decent, but you need a really good group to have the kill speed fast enough to make it worthwhile... and even then, it's only worthwhile in addition to k99/AF, not instead of.
Which is a shame, I was really hoping for a lot more from field XP this update.

We did take a look at the NCWest servers and verified that the bot problem is not ideal. This makes us really sad because Lineage II is such a great game. We’ve been working very closely with the NCSOFT West team to come up a multi-tiered approach to tackle the situation. We’re in the process of developing a several new systems that will reduce and deter bots from tarnishing our game.
I believe that these NEW Detection Methods are an Early Form of what they will be using in Future NcSoft MMORGs.
I Think unless someone learns more about these New Methods,and a Way Around detection , they are Here to stay , while NcSoft Tweeks them to their satisfaction.

And that's the problem.
It's always a cat and mouse situation where one is chasing after the other.
The problem with NC's approach in the past (I can't speak to current because it has just gone out) is that they want a solution they can put in place and then forget about.
That doesn't work, because any automated system like that is prone to being figured out and then defeated. If they look for certain behaviors and actions. Eventually someone will figure that out and change things to no longer be detected.
If they are looking for certain files/locations, those will change.
It requires an active person constantly checking and updating the software to keep on top of it.
If NC is now doing that, or hired someone to do it, then awesome.
If not, then it's just a matter of a short period of time until things are back to what they were before.

so, nicely done on stopping bots on the servers by disabling character creation. we still see the adena sellers, we still get in-game mail and PM's from adena sellers. the only difference is that now they aren't level 20, they are, instead, bot toons that have been around long enough to achieve lvl 85+. the people who handle these bots have no problem at all finding a way around the rules.
disabling chat has been a real problem, too. it hasn't stopped any of the adena sellers from spamming their nonsense and pestering legitimate players. but it has prevented legitimate players from having full benefit of communicating in-game. so yeah, thanks for that, too, NCSoft.
then there are the adena sellers offering real money to supposedly real players, recruiting them to sell adena since they can't create new toons. they prey on some kids who think it would be awesome to get paid to play a game, so they set up their 85+ toons in the villages and spam in open chat, pm and mail all day long. every time i go to a village i get pm's from the same adena seller bots. nicely done.
so once again, legitimate players are punished in NCSoft's efforts to rid its servers of the bots and scripters and adena sellers, who, by the way, are still there. yep, good job. thanks for the inconvenience to real people. these solutions should have been found years ago when this started to be a problem rather than now suddenly trying to shovel snow in a blizzard with a spoon.

I think some have managed to figure out how to go undetected in this 13 year
old game.
They have set up Shops in places around the World were it is difficult to take Legal action.
And to these H@ckers it's a Sport, and Supporting their Families.
This game is just to old, and the codes are to well known to Stop them completely, in my opinion.
Although when NcSoft shut down the Character Creation option, it shows me they might be working on something.
I would be Amazed if they could Stop them.

I feel like you're agreeing with me and don't realize it. There is no pvp now, at least before you could run around and find a grp of enemies xp'ing and have fun pvp, scripts or not. Too many quit, no 1 xp's, your friends that are coming back will not stay, I promise you that, only the hardcore are left and we have nothing to do. Parn is gate fighting imo, I won't waste my time. Might as well meet at the arena and shout ready set go! Every one is entitled to their opinion and I respect that, me personal, would rather fight cheaters all day then fight no one

It's so funny isn't it? :D NcWest stopped the char creation to try to stop botting... I started a new char coz i have acc just to try the new summoner lvl 60 atm... All quest place are filled with bots, and yea I know they are bots... When i played on alligators island it was filled only with female kamael archers. I hope you don't want tell me all "iehfdskfns" like named chars was active player. :D
All they do is tryhard to kill the game, as i see now. I'm really sorry about this whole fight against botter. But while private servers can filter botters and don't even log them in, how NcWest can't do the same?
All they did is make impossible the whole game for newcomers... 0xp from hunting only from quests but I all time missed a half level for the next quest chain and on open field I got 0,3% xp from mobs on lvl 50... it's a joke. Chat is disabled for me till 75, so I can't even find an academy or mentor for myself... If a totally new player would log in and start to play he/she would leave it within 1hours coz of restrictions against him/her even he/she did nothing to get them.
Pls guys wake up and don't kill this game. You have the money from it, why have to ruin it?

Very interesting! So happy if he could kill an afk bot ( if he was happy and bot don t wake up suddenly ). Pathetic!!! But probably, he is just one of those scripters that are crying here because Ncsoft bothered them a bit ...

reduce the upstream item (set a max. per slot stock) in inventory and also in the clan warehouse and as such also for the staff adena max.

A long time ago I suggested to solve the Bot Problem by adding a Character Create Restriction 1 Character per IP/MAC per day (or more). Real Players will hardly make dozens of Charactes a day let alone per week. There is no need for it. Meanwhile those Bots will be halted without any great suffering for New Players with this Restriction.
I personally think the combination of the New Anti Cheat Detection and Character Create Restriction will put a end to this Low-level Character Madness. Third Party Characters will vanish faster then they could create new Chars.
I hope you will understand this point of view. I am Looking forward for any other Feedbacks from the Community and NC West Support Members to make this Game more enjoyable again.

According to Juji's screenshot (http://imgur.com/ok3ZWvF) we will be able to exchange Shadow Weapons in the upcoming Red Libra event. It's still a long time until we get "Introducing the Power", and possibly there will be another Red Libra event before that - the Koreans really love those events. But just to be on the safe side you may want to take the upgrading restriction into account when changing a Shadow Weapon at Elder Black.

lol, they already track the bots this way, a friend of mine told me that he need to use vpn and other stuff in order to continue his busines.
btw, i can tell to juji his nickname, but that wont make any diference i think since his main toon was already banned and he dont play anymore just work with l2.
simple answer the guy who run the private server from his basement is really looking for a 1 time donation from player base. Ncsoft wants all your money gives u product in return then takes 30% of the rewards u got from donating for n coin, cuz their development team is far far understaffed and isnt aware of bugs or can not read the patch updates date, and institutes an updated that was supposed to happen 2 weeks later... im sure the files werent labeled with a date or anything obvious that a 13 yr old couldnt read...
Heres the thing its called job performance if u are not able to do as u are asked there are punishments, suspensions, terminations... A lot of qualified trustworthy people play this game and work in real life for minimal wage or close to it at a job they hate. These guys work for a gaming company, one that we can all agree is the best mmorpg we have played. Lots of us would love to work for this company and build it into what it has the potential to be...
In the USA there is 0 advertising... How can u expect more people to come and see what we all fell in love with, without advertising? this isnt the 1900's where only word of mouth was advertising enough. I see commercials daily for some stupid free to play game on cell phones but never one for the greatest RPG people have never heard of.... **** i am a busy man working at a job i hate for little money but ill take the time make a commercial for this game... **** i may start a gofundme for it and show a multi million dollar company how it is done...

I think the most characters I've made in one day was about 12. I wasn't happy with some of the ones I created so I redid them. I'm a long time boxer in L2 and four of my accounts stem from the pay to play era (oldest being beta).
So your suggestion needs further hashing out.

If NCWest devs don't have the knowledge, why not ask a private server owner how they blocked every botter software? :DVia a simple change in the server configuration and the fact that no bot maker cares about the private server. It's like apple bragging about the lack of viruses on their OS X systems. It's because no one wants to target 2% of the ecosystem when you could be targeting 98% with the same effort.

If you try to log in with any bot to lineage2ertheia, lineage2lancer, tenkai etc... you will get instaban before able to kill a single mob. It's not about how many ppl use the software while they all use the same 5-10 bot program. If they can make a filter, why NcWest can't make it?

You re missing the point, he didnt say WHY macs cant get windows viruses, he said BECAUSE macs are a very low population is the reason why malicious hackers target windows systems as an extremely bigger in comparison demographic. And if you are anyhow relative to IT Security then you would know if there is an incentive for breaching a system, no system is impenetrable. Just private servers (being a much lower demographic and one that constitutes of people accustomed to not pay2win- which can mean pay for a bot to win) just as mac users isnt a big enough demographic for people with the know-how to devote sources and time to just to penetrate their security. You think ncsoft didnt put roadblock in the way of bot makers all these years ? Ofcourse they did, but when you have hundreds if not thousands of customers paying for your bot services there is all the reason to breach those asap. And thats why different solutions, like legal action against USA based bots or detection software against third countries' producers were put in place as a check.
Is ncsoft perfect? Hell no, they still have much work to do as new programs spring up to replace the old ones and get a piece of that market but till then dont be silly comparing to lol private servers..

OSX has had several well known viruses hit it in the last few years.
Their security through obscurity model and pathetic responses times to fix flaws makes them one of the easiest targets for people to breach. Their biggest advantage is that it's simply been unprofitable to devote many resources to do it on a wide scale.
The same goes for consumer grade linux distributions.
Why spend hundreds of hours searching for an exploit on a system that only 1 out of every several thousand targets will potentially be using?
It's much better to spend that time to exploit something with a wider distribution unless you are going after a VERY specific target.
It's also generally not "Windows" that gets pwned. It's 3rd party software (java, flash, acrobat, etc) that is pwned and used to gain access to the system (since it's installed already, and therefore already has access to windows).
Although it's a moot point now, the bigger target is mobile devices, which android and apple are the two biggest markets. And there's been quite a few of those, because unlike the desktop, Apple is a huge target in that arena.
In regards to l2 however.
Private servers are able to move and change quickly. They are not a paid service or a company that has to follow any rules or regulations in any real way.
If they want to install something that scans your entire computer and memory space at any time. They can. If they want to constantly change things to break stuff, they can.
If they want to go out and look at every single 3rd party program and adjust their server to make sure they don't work the moment updates are done.... the only thing stopping them is their own desire to put time into it.
Retail L2 is nothing like that. NCWest is not calling the shots. And neither NcWest or NCKorea are INCA (the creator/owner of gameguard). Changes all flow through places other than NCwest and get filtered down here. That means things are always going to be slower than a handful of people running things however they feel like running things.

Although it's a moot point now, the bigger target is mobile devices, which android and apple are the two biggest markets. And there's been quite a few of those, because unlike the desktop, Apple is a huge target in that arena.

It's also generally not "Windows" that gets pwned. It's 3rd party software (java, flash, acrobat, etc) that is pwned and used to gain access to the system (since it's installed already, and therefore already has access to windows).

What part of "apple being a big target" in mobile is incorrect? I did not say the biggest. I didn't say the only.
But compared to OSX v Windows they are a major player in the market, certainly much bigger than Windows mobile is.

Almost every blackhat conference has people pwning OSX with relative ease compared to just windows. Which is why the vast majority of Windows malware enters through other applications for all or at least part of the exploit.
Do exploits in windows itself happen? Absolutely.
But you have your head in the sand if you think Apple is a secure haven. Those people pwning OSX do it primarily for competitions or proof of concepts. There's simply no money to be made in an OSX targeted exploit compared to one that targets windows users.

OSX can't even beat out the combined market share of the least popular Windows variations, let alone Win 7 or Windows 10.

OSX is nothing more than a BSD derivative with a pretty GUI shell on it. There's nothing magical about it that keeps it safe and secure other than it just not being worth someone's time to get into. They would rather target windows or enterprise level server OS's like redhat in order to go after the money.
And even with that lack of motivation, there's still been a number of pieces of malware that have looked to take advantage of OSX.

In regards to L2. The support here will never be like a private server. It can't be, it just can't move as fast.
Just look at the move in this topic. Disabling character creation was a stopgap move that did little to even prevent the lowbie adena spam. Even up to the last day there were still characters pming people, spamming white/trade/shout chat, and with shops setup. If they had been able to do something else to accomplish the goal without actively hurting their (already nearly non existent) new account creation... they certainly would have gone that route instead.
Yeah, INCA might be able to move fast enough with GG updates, but to be honest I don't know how fast their time to identify, test, and update their client files are. If they take a week to turn around, then they will never be ahead of people who can update their applications much quicker.
They would need to be able to get through all of that in a couple days or less to make it worthwhile... and that kind of quick turnaround is not cheap, especially when you are looking at something so specific... it's not like 3rd party tools for l2 work on lots of other games.

I would like to add that last I knew the cheat/bot users were simply disabling GG so updates to GG would have to be pretty drastic in order to fix that.
