It was great, i used the WS cos i lvl my destro sub with WC, BD and 2 GW, it was like having a free SWS with earth, hunter and champion along for free :)
A very nice event, and the few possible exploits I checked (getting event pet into Oly, stuff like that) were even thought of, very nice. But ... why did you have to delete the roses?
1. WS one, for the 10 minute party buffs and recharges
2. no, wanted to spend time xping rather than doing art :)
3. full vit, finally doing decent xp progress instead of only having vit bonus for half a buff round a day

5. the buff which needed the rose essences was not really worth it, should maybe have been one of the ones we had during the christmas event. Also, of course everybody only took out the summons to give the vit buff and did not keep them out for the normal buffs like empower etc., so those buffs should maybe have lasted a bit longer than only 2 minutes.
1) im a Shillen Saint, and used Lapham, the nuker Pet to help me hunt. I enjoed the double nuking power of me in Inqiusitor and the Pet. It allowed me to Hunt on Dino Island or 2xHP monsters in Hotsprings. It was always summoned because i only used up the full time of my daily Pet on Weekends.
I want such a Pet forever :)

No clear method was every really stated, i don't think i ran into a single person that figured out how to use any of the things that were sold, no clear explanation was ever given, and i did ask questions. What were they for, what did they do?

Hmm I have used all three pets on different occasions; summon with warsmith buffs was out the most of time and when lvl in party ; I have used warrior type summon when lvl alone; and nuker type summon for lvl my main (Soul breaker) or alt ( Prophet).

Hmmm not really I have just bought 110 of each colour to save them for later and maybe do an adena art later, when there would be an event for doing one ofcourse. Don't see a reason why you didn't make one like you did before on Halloween. And why why you deleted roses !!!!!!??????

Hmm I liked the first day better than any others since petals were dropping more often and those essences droped rarely. I have also liked the fact to have an usefull pet and ofc the perma vitalty 4.

The insane drop of essences and pretty low drop of petals after day 1. It was not rare that I lost the buff at its lvl 9 :(

The rose essence buff and maybe the buffs of a warsmith type summon. We all know warsmith have different buffs for light/heavy/robe users and archer/dd/etc.. Make rose essence drop very rarely so it gets its meaning it's something special; I have ended up with 600 of those unused. Add and adena art event along it and make it one week after the official event ends.
The event was real good, but a handicap for players who had in event time time birthday as it was in case, would be good to get an reward in exchnge vers other players who could use event fully out ...

That when the companion started to timeout, it spammed my chat window for 5 minutes telling me it would leave soon, and I couldn't unsummon it during that time. All I could do was turn off system messages. :(

Get rid of the expiring companion message spam, and control when they would heal me better. Otherwise this event rocked! :cool:
1) Best pet was the warsmith type. I am a cardinal but also helped be on my doomcryer and swordsinger subs ^_^ The buffs were great, I got recharges and he was a good dd :D
2) Not that often, but was nice to be able to send a rose to your friends :)
3) The vitality ofc, the recharges and the important help I received in the killing process.
4) Picking up the petals.. especially in full partys :)

As a summoner who likes to fight with his summon, I really enjoyed the fighter/warrior pet.

I didn't buy any roses.

The ability to remain at level 4 vitality and the ability for summoners to be able to unsummon and resummon their pets with full buffs. I also liked the stats on the summons and their ability to attack really helped my healer level

The 24 hour duration on the acquisition of new summons and the 3 hour time limit of the summons.
Some of the pet buffs only lasted 1 minute before having to be rebuffed.
Lastly, the rose petal charge icon should not take up space in your bufflist. This sometimes caused needed buffs to be pushed off the list.

It would have been nicer if I could have gotten a pet and been able to keep it for the full 24 hours before expiration.
Any extra buff given by event pets should occupy the BD and SWS buffslot list.
In order to have a decent leveling run, the buffs the pets provided should have at least stayed for 10 minutes before having to rebuff.

1. I play a few mage classes in turn so I used wizard pets all the time. However, the type of pet did not really matter to me since I mostly used them to get vitality up to 4 (also used their mana recharges on emergencies).
2. I bought a couple hundreds of roses considering a small chance to resell them in the future (in case some roleplayer would need them for a wedding ceremony or something), so I'm a bit disappointed they got removed. But it's ok. Seriously, they were pretty useless.

I usually pick up everything (by holding down the pickup key), so, having to pick up tons of extra items somewhat slowed me down.

Reason: Enabled me to hunt effectively, without a buffer, or stupidly expensive wolf equipment, solo, for up to 3hrs a day.

What for? To be able to "play" 24/7?
In fact, even if you intend to play for many hours non-stop, just one pet is more than enough, since you can summon it every 20 min or so (depending on how fast you go from Vit 4 to Vit 3) for a minute or two to restore vit and get some buffs.
My accounts was inactive most of the event and catch up only 2-3 days of it.Friends told me about perma vit 4 so i deside to delete one of my subs and make a new one that i would take beter skill for my main and so i did.

So,if u think to make another event like event like this,or even if u think to change permantly xp rate at our servers,and u want also new players to come and start to compete with older players faster(thats a great idea for me),i would suggest to make easier and a lot cheaper c-b-a grade gear that u can take from nbc shops.Otherwise u will lead them to ebay,in order to equipt their toons.
Best leveling event to date, but almost too good... and no-lifers/cheaters STILL can gain most benefit, as usual. Perhaps would be better to lower drop rate during week and increase drop rate of petals during weekend so it's really more like weekend event. Or perhaps just a 2 or 3 hour perma-vit4 pet given once per 24 hours that isn't removed after event. Then legits or busy people can store them for use later and cheaters/no-lifers will not get any more total vit4 time than less active people. Because as it was, the cheaters could really take advantage of 24/7 vit4 while legits and casual players could not do that, so while it really helped a lot of legits get to high level fast, it also helped the cheaters get even higher levels even faster than them. Need to just give a finite amount of vit4 time to each toon.
I do wish we could have kept the roses tho, my fiancee sent me ten of each color in a Happy Valentine mail, I wanted to keep them for sentimental value :P

The fighter pet for some solo xp the BD sub on NForcR for a few levels, upping the vit bar and mage pet as extra recharger for the mage.

With the Spellhowler and Phantom Ranger, I used the Wizard summons. With the Dark Avenger, Prophet, Abyss Walker, and Warcryer I used the Fighter summons.

The look of the summons (prefer an agathion). The rose essences. That the event had to end.

i. Better and longer duration buffs from the summons (A prophecy would be nice.)
ii. Summons should benefit from dropped herbs as well.
iii. Better summons stats. Rose Essences should have been designed to enchant your summons’ skills or stats. The more you get, the more you enchant, the better your summons.
iv. Summons should have a “Summon Friend†skill that ‘ports you to your favorite hunting spot. Maybe we could have used those red, white, & blue roses to set the ‘port location?
v. More thematic here, but the summons should all come with a Hate skill with a far-reaching, wide area of effect that you can’t turn off. After all, it’s a Valentine’s Day event. Nothing incurs hate quite like seeing lovey-dovey couples fawning all over one another. The minute you leave a peace zone, mobs should spawn out of thin air trying to kill the darn thing…and you!

I took the male wizard pet as I inquisitor all the time. Nice to be able to be recharged.

The pet's intelligence seemed off, like if it had to choose between recharging you and healing you it recharged when healing was the right choice. I have 10 dinos on me, i don't need mp i need heals! And it was kinda annoying to summon/unsummon if you were on a summoner.

Some of the buffs seemed to cancel out other buffs of the same level. For example pet accumen (which only lasts a min) and pet ww canceled out my pp's accu & ww so i always had to buff those twice after the pet buffed me. Pets also seemed to follow oddly. They'd wait then run after you instead of following the entire time...which normally pulled aggro which had spawned since moving from the previous spot. Died a few times due to pet aggro -_-;;

This was a good event, but I agree with the previous poster. I know someone who had bought a large amount of each color of roses to do art with. She was VERY disappointed the these roses were removed from her inventory. Why was a bought item which has no game ability beyond an event removed? If these items are to be removed,"just because", they should not be put in as Sell Items in the first place. I think all those that bought roses should have them returned, or adena cost returned. Selling an item and then taking it away in the next instance is a form of theft in my opinion.

Being a Lineage player since 2005 i know when to rush and when to relax although i am convinced that Role playing players or Lineage 2 valentines would have a good use for them.

On this, i agree with the majority, the permanent full vitality on solo/duo/little party situations. I got half level (79 marching to 80) without exploiting the event to its maximum. The remaining buffs on my summon when i was resummoning it.
4) What did you like least about the event?
The drop rate of rose essence. It was so high. The fact that as a summoner each vitality recharge would cost me 2 A grade crystals. I believe this extra cost for the summoners should be erased on the next update, so one summoner due to his class should have all summons for free cos it is his only weapon. A cubic or a summon isn't a luxury for a summoner (as it could be for a tank class for example), it is his only weapon. Plus i still can't understand how a buffer/ non summon class has a mass summon skill and not a pure summoner.

By the way it could be very good idea if you would give bonus to a duo party in drop rate for example so the players who would party duo would benefit from this, so people would socialize more and it enhances the spirit of valentine. I would rather this type of event, than events that end up with 100+ Sell/Buy Shops in town, that kill the market for weeks, and lead to people coming to these forums and crying about how the bots benefited from the event, and all they got was EAD, and on and on...
This event was simple, although having a Non-Stop level 4 Vitality for 2 weeks was a bit overkill, lol.
All in all the event in my opinion was one of best events NC Soft has ever created, the fact there was no massive lag or server downtime cause of event errors.

All in all I used the warsmith buffer, the fact that they had any attacks at all was irrelevent as I do far more dmg then them, and I'm also a ranged player. For the most part I left it unsummoned unless I was using it for it's vitality buff or to recieve WS buffs. However like other players in this thread, I agree with the concenses that the pet should have actually given warsmith buffs appropriate to the class which is using the pets, a sharp-edge type buff is rather useless to an archer or mage class.

I did purchase a few of these, while I did very little in the rose art aspect of it other then mess around in clan hall a little bit, I did have fun teasing Sweetie and trading her 1 flower at a time ;) I also agree with the majority of this thread that the flowers should not have been removed from the game.

As 99% of this thread I absolutely totally agree with the majority about the ability to stay at level 4 vitality for 2 full weeks straight if used properly. I also have to add that I liked that this that while they COULD get xp for a short period of time there was no way for bots to exploit this event and make a bundle of adena. Also the fact there was no major lag.
4) What did you like least about the event?
The fact you could only recieve 1 summon per day, and this summon only lasted 3 hours. Also the fact that the rose essenses overtook the droprate of not only the petals but also the normal drops as well. The Essenses were all but useless and pointless, very few people I saw actually used the essense buff mostly due to the fact you could not chain the buff and keep it up, the re-buff cooldown/penalty prevented this.
On a side note it sucked that my birthday buff landed directly in the middle of this event :rolleyes:

1: Increase the duration of the necklaces or allow us to recieve more then one in a day.
2: Make the pets not possible to die, like the reindeers at christmas, I found these things pulled agro far too often, and I also often saw them dead lying around the towns where their owners had left them to disappear.
3: Make the buffs that the summon gives not overwrite other buffs, and or extend them to be longer. Make the warsmith buffer give CLASS appropriate WS buffs to the owners
4: remove the essense cooldown/penalty, also improve the buff, the buff in and of itself sucked.
5: decrease the essense drops as it effected normal drops AND rose petal drops
6: Instead of a SUMMON perhaps the companion would be better off as an agathion, this would allow summoners, dark avengers & phoenix knights actually use their summons and yet still recieve the benefits of the companion at the smae time, other option on this is make it possible to have it as either a summon OR an agathion, restrictions being if you want a companion that actually does damage you have to take the summon not the agathion.
7: Extend the time it takes for a rose petal to disappear, for those who did AOE during this event I found the petals would often vanish mid-pull before the mobs were actually gone, this causing the person collecting their 10 petals to either have to move into the pull and hope the aoes of the mobs or the drains didnt kill them, or the person doing the actual killing having to stop for a moment to pick an herb up before continuing to kill the mobs.
Once again NCSoft props for an EXCELLENT event. Want to see this kind of event far more often!

Warsmith by far was the most helpful summon of the bunch.

Permanent Vit 4. Another thing was the activity among our clan was greatly increased. Alot of people came on to play. Not sure what the numbers showed but definitely a major improvement in participation.

Maybe instead of having all the essence and the need to resummon every time, give maybe a buff that you could get in town that wasn't lost even due to death. Would prevent the lag and of multiple items on the ground and wouldn't disrupt the drop rate. Its a small suggestion. Otherwise fantastic event and look forward to seeing it again soon. Maybe next one??? Hope so. Lvl 79 is grueling.

1.) Warrior one for my warrior classes and Mage ones for my mages. I tried some Warsmith ones but I ended up taking the ones that were suited for my classes.
2.)Yes, made my some lame hearts in front of Rosalia, and gave them out to all my friends and clanmates I was close with. I wish they hadn't disappeared. Oh well, more space in warehouse. Oh and that stupid spam chat when they were about to disappear.
3.) Having a partner that gave me nifty buffs I could use and the permanent level 4 Vitality.

1) The warsmith was best for me (fighter) because I had newbie buffs already and the warsmith buffs plus the MP recharge is very nice for fighter skills

4)The rose petal buff was only 5 minutes and you couldnt get it until mesmerize wore off (10 minutes). You had to chose healing or fighting with the pet, you couldnt have it do both without the cumbersome Stance Switching.

So good in fact that your announcement for feedback on it finally made me give in to register to this forum - something I did consider a waste of time before, judging from the usual responses.

I liked Warsmith best for my toons, archer/healer mostly, but for my dwarfettes as well.

No, collected a few that others dropped and might have used them after event to do some art - if they'd still have been there.
3) What did you like most about the event?
The high amount of Vit level 4 possible and then the longer of the pet buffs( down to the warsmiths maintenance).

Not much to dislike really, other than rose essence having a weight other than zero and the neccessity to switch modes on the pets.
5) What do you think should be changed to make the event better
I'd like to see a little more rose petals drop and a little less rose essence, kinda somewhere halfway between the first day and the settled state. I did like the rosy seduction, but just making it a 10 min buff and getting rid of the "off-timer" would make it a little better still.
All in all this event is giving me a bit of new hope towards an otherwise mostly dull-looking future, so please continue in this general direction ...

I would like to ad that not only an agathion, but also one you get to keep after the event. It doesn't have to do anything after the event other than what the other agathions do or if you really wanted to make this a super event with something to remember like events of old, have it something we can earn, turn in, bind to character and give a single buff or two while it is out for the player and they get to keep it!!!!
There should be ways to blend in some of what Korea has in their ncCoin stuff and let us keep event items as time goes on. By binding them, ( I would prefer bind to account not just toon), the farmers can't sell them and the players get something cool :)

Mage pet. I play the Soul Hound, and the pet allows me ot spam skills while keeping my mana pool mostly healthy.

No. To be honest I wasn't even interested in this event till I read 'perma-vitality' or something to that effect.
3) What did you like most about the event?
Perma vitality and a free MP battery.
4) What did you like least about the event?
Getting over-buffed. a Lot. As a Soul hound you need both fighter buffs and mage. On top of self buffs and triggers buffs. I don't have the slot space for random stuff. The petals should be a special buff or debuff like the Den of Evil attack buffs. (Or simply make triggers go into the potion buff bar or something and not the main one).
5) What do you think should be changed to make the event better
Buff slot replaced with an unremovable debuff to the same effect.
Also this event, much like most of the new game areas, promotes solo play over group play. 1 petal should count for the whole party.
The vitality replenishing skill should have a much faster animation.
Those with the birthday buff should get double the XP to make up for being so unlucky.
There should be something that drops from the event that players can permenantly keep. Something trivial like the a hat or other accessory. The Lovers Romantic Chapeau. Basically a red version of the normal one would have been amazing! :)
Lastly you need to bring back the different coloured afro's! Also make a hat that can be permenanty kept. Also make it take up one slot and add some Aviator shades to the game as well. This is a requirement for world peace. :P

Please make the high-end PARTY exp possible while such events. For our const party was possible only to keep 2/9 ppl full vit in Steel Citadel, 6/9 in Stacato Nest. Maybe you should adjust the drop rate/amout of Rose Pentals to the mob's HP or base exp: x1 mob = 1 Rose Pental, Giant's Shooter = 3-4 Pentals, Tully's Golem Guard = 5-6 Pentals... (and always drop Pentals, Essence random as additional).

Warrior helper for buffs and heals (for fighter toon) + WS helper on leeching alt (WS helper has partybuffs ;) )

I loved the event. However, I have one problem.
Why did NcSoft take away roses that ppl spent adena to puchase? In the previous events, what ppl bought remained in the game (i.e. Cupid bow).
We have number of ppl who does adena arts, and bought quite a large sum of those roses and they are all gone.

Didn't matter because the pet was never out except when I had 10 rose petals. I did use the fighter one after the petals were no longer dropping. The buffs were ok, but I wasn't really able to control it to help fight so I just ignored it and left it to buff. (I'm not a pet/summon user so I have no skills in that arena). The need to "switch stance" to get the rose buff seemed a bit too complicated and unnecessary.

Nope.

Vitality.

No more Vitality when over. I got kinda burnt out toward the end and I am now super lazy in game mainly because I am still recovering from "gotta XP, can't waste event, gotta xp NOW" thinking.

Please consider making the "10 petals" reward a vita-pop that can be used outside the event instead of an immediate use thing. Maybe just add a vita-pop as a random (but still possible unlike the mythical +++ A Grade weapon) "10 petal" reward.

This was the best (B-E-S-T) Event we ever (E-V-E-R) had!
I finally made my way to Lv 81 and almost made it to 82 with that event.
This event finally didn't require you to be in-game the whole day and farm event-items for two weeks to get any benefit out of it. It was the perfect event for everyone in my opinion and especially for casual players - like me - who just can't farm endlessly.
And let's be honest - who cares about tons of Juices, Potions, Scrolls and whatever, when it's Exp which is the hardest to get?!
Conclusion: Awesome! More maximum Vitality events!!!!!!!!

For an EE, it's "mage" for soloing (mage buffs, recharge) and "etc" for playing in a melee party (good melee DD and less overbuffing, because everyone else calls it for their 10 herbs anyway).

Had no time to play with them during the event, and didn't buy them to use after the event because they were going to be removed.

Vitality.
Non-squishy recharger pet.
DD pet that doesn't consume XP.
20% MP regen from herb buff.

Lack of the market aspect (you could at least keep the roses).
Huge loads of useless essences dropping.

Keep the roses after the event ends. Give some tradeable consumables that aren't removed after the event. Rework or remove the essences.

Better drop rate for petals, so as said before party people would keep up with vit4, make something usefull to trade for essences from Rosalia, like 500 essences = 1 vita pop or LS 80, 1k essences SA lvl 14 or, 200 essences fruit juices, or buff scrolls, and/or accessories, ew/ea's, something like this.
Everything about the event was good with one exception. I bought 500 each of the roses to be used later for art and they disappeared. NC Soft .. if you are going to have players spend their adena on items from an npc it is not right that you take them away with no compensation!

Also any pet was a good DD and I liked that he was same level with me. I have wolf of my level, but event pet was as good as wolf and didn't eat exp! So my wolf had some kind of vacation : ))

crowded locations; too much drops to pickup, especially the useless essences; urge to spend as much time as possible in game to get the most out of event

I think the event should be friendlier to the casual players and those who can't play on the event period. Let people receive things that increase vitality (to make it as useful as this event, they should give vitality herb-type buff, not just a simple vita pop) and spend them when it's most convenient for people.
To improve this particular event, I'd make pets receive petals without drop - automatically from any mob you kill (with some chance, and distributed between all party members with event summon active - just like party quest items). And do not delete pets at the end, so people would be able to use the bonus until summon expires. Maybe at the same time decrease number of summons given out, to keep bonus reasonable.

No,i can suggest for future event a love packet that contains love music crys and valentines summoned acessor like pink glasses,bow hearts ect.

The rose essence,since pressing button every 5' for buff(and having to change windows every 4' for pow from my box)would suck so it was only making a mess in ground covering the real drops.

The special 20%hp more ect buff should be like on christmas event, a permanent buff and the pet should restore vit for all party.People in 9man groups couldnt play together cause rose pots were not enough for all,too stressfull to change players to pikup all the time to save their rose buff.
