Try Guild Wars. No monthly fee ever, so you don't "HAVE" to play just because you bought it.
Deja vu because it is the reality. You see it ingame and you read it here.
That is why i say competing with bots is not feasible. Let them have the PK point and play the game in a legit clan with your friends. You will see that if you are careful you can stay out of PKs way, you can do raids, instances, even get a castle if you are really lucky.
There is a wind of change blowing now, the money are not coming anymore like they used to and every account not payd is hurting.
The problem for the bots is that if legits dont play the game quickly becomes pointless for them too. Who will be impressed by level 85/80/80/80 and epics ? Another bot ? Highly unlikely, only ppl that know how hard it would be to get there legit may appreciate it, I keep reading how easy some ppl say leveling is in aoe parties in HB and other places, how they do 10% an hour at level 85 and such, but I know that they dont really have a clue how hard it is supposed to be in reality.
Gratz for your levels, I think the game has more important aspects than level and gear and PvP, but you are really dedicated if you achieved that so fast.

100% true, NC has been killing this game by not supporting it... freya update times show it again, would be no problem to put 3rd party programs on gameguard blocklist... there is no point in changing it now, 98% cheaters 2% legits, they can't afford anymore to loose those 98% - Aion died because all who tried it found out its not any different... when NCwest will notice they wont have any chance to survive anymore

Dude L2 was alawys like that .. and NCSOFT cant do **** about radars , i guess they cant detect that.. i also hate it ! :P btw most of ppl quit l2 cuz of that , dude the game is still fun.. i dont see reason to quit.. L2 since c3 is a ''serious business'' that ppl makes alot of real life money with that.. so u dont worry , u dont need to be TOP to compete... and that in any game... btw if u realy wanted to be strong at that game u'd have to do what it takes. wich would be pay 5 accs, box them all and solo happy for ever! :D i know plenty of legit ppl that lvled that way since prelude. i never liked that cheating but owell what can we do.. only thing is that this time is worse.. cuz pvping bot realy sucks

This microwave generation of game players with their "I want it all now" and "by any means necessary" game tactics have destroyed what was once a decently competitive arena. All L2 is good for now is to run the odd raid now and then and to pass the time when I'm at work. When I want my pvp fix, I just turn to the Xbox or the PS3 and ride that sweet blissful wave of legit competition (beating people all over the world in Super Street Fighter 4 is extremely satisfying :D). I promise you that when console games truly get into the MMO market and make real persistent worlds, I'm hanging up computer gaming altogether. It's just too easy for people to pay for programs that do all the work.

4) Give Scavengers a Refine skill that allows them to create refined materials from existing mats. These refined materials will be used to create masterwork and foundation weapons.
Because the effort to do multiple crafts is so incredibly difficult, might as well be lazy too!
1, 2, 3, and 4) Raise the level of the mithril mines in Dwarven Village to level 61-74 (with 74 being in the bottom of the mine) Non-agro like Garden of Beasts. Let this area spoil basic mats. Blunt attack weak point. Raise the level of the School of Dark Arts to level 61-74 with a magic attack weak point. Raise the level of the Elven Fortress to level 61-74 with an archery attack weak point. Raise the level of the Forgotten Temple to levle 61-74 with a physical attack weak point.
Because the different areas and catacombs for those levels that exist already are SO inefficient. So silly of me. Please refer to my previous comment about "your inadequacies".
6) Allow pet managers to evolve striders into wyverns for 20 minutes with a 24 hour cool down.

1 and 2) Make all D-A weapons and armor available from shops for purchase. Make all S and S80 grade weapon and armor recs 100% craftable. Only one recipe is needed for all crafts.

3) Make all warsmiths able to craft masterwork and foundation items intentionally. Accomplish this by creating a foundation, masterwork, and a passive miser skill for warsmiths. Let them obtain these skills by becoming members of the mammon guild through a quest similar to the coin collectors quest. Plussing up these skills increase the chances of success.
4) Give Scavengers a Refine skill that allows them to create refined materials from existing mats. These refined materials will be used to create masterwork and foundation weapons.
Because the effort to do multiple crafts is so incredibly difficult, might as well be lazy too!
1, 2, 3, and 4) Raise the level of the mithril mines in Dwarven Village to level 61-74 (with 74 being in the bottom of the mine) Non-agro like Garden of Beasts. Let this area spoil basic mats. Blunt attack weak point. Raise the level of the School of Dark Arts to level 61-74 with a magic attack weak point. Raise the level of the Elven Fortress to level 61-74 with an archery attack weak point. Raise the level of the Forgotten Temple to levle 61-74 with a physical attack weak point.
Because the different areas and catacombs for those levels that exist already are SO inefficient. So silly of me. Please refer to my previous comment about "your inadequacies".
6) Allow pet managers to evolve striders into wyverns for 20 minutes with a 24 hour cool down.
Be competent, start a clan, get a castle, stop crying.

I already knew that about DK's, but regardless, he still asks for free pre-leveled characters instead of leveling another one the old fashioned way. Everyone and their mother knows you can level cap WoW toons in under 2 months, whereas you actually do work here. This kid is blatantly asking for something for nothing.

I think you are ignorant of the meaning between "earning things" and "working" in a video game.
One means you must actually put some effort forth, the other means you waste as much time clicking as you spend at your full time job making money - except you actually pay to work, instead of getting paid for it.
People like you are the reason why the servers are dead here, and obviously NCSoft disagrees, since they are carebearing up all the 78+ levels in High 5 - slashing them by [effectively] half or more.

Those hickups are worth working towards a more balanced and enjoyable in-game environment for the playerbase as a whole.
It's happened in other games as well, in fights against 3rd party software users.
In any case, Radar is the least of your worries, IRT PvP competition. Anti-Backstab programs, auto assist programs, bot programs that intelligently spam CP Pots, programs that forcelog, People who PvP with full w*lk*r*d support following them, etc. are all bigger issues than Zoom hacks and radar, IMO.
Radar makes you rage until you see an Archmage with a botted DC/EE/SE/PP/SWS/BD running towards you. Then, it suddenly doesn't look all that bad (yes, that has happened to me :P ).

Good job commenting on my statement that he is blatantly asking for something for nothing, just pointing out the semantics of my post. They're probably carebearing you up in the hopes that you get to a higher level and actually play the pvp part of this open-world pvp game the way it was meant to be played. Because it's bad enough you have players claiming to be playing since Prelude and they can't even get past level 78, you have guys like this kid who think that everyone better than him and higher level than him botted to get there and so everyone should be wiped and get a clean slate. The fact and the matter is that you (in a botter clan apparently) are talking on a forum about people having to work for something in a video game, when a game's primary goal should be getting people to relax and have fun - not feel like they're working.
It's not a semantics game. Anyone who plays this game can easily distinguish between what type of "work" is involved to progress in it.
Handing out free levels is always a bad idea, but balancing a game primarily around character levels is just as bad. That's the reason why we see these terrible ideas thrown onto this forum.
WoW content is not balanced around character level. It's balanced around people coordinating in raids (with the upper eschelon being hardmode/heroic raids) and small arena teams (similar to 3v3 Olympiad) or Battlegrounds. Comparing the time it takes to level in WoW to Lineage II accomplishes very little. The games are extremely dissimilar and balanced in very different ways. Level is not that important in WoW. Content is. Lineage II is the complete opposite. The levels are almost everything, and the content is borderline non-existent.
Because the levels mean so much, and the content is so lacking, it always did behoove NCSoft to make sure people spent as much time leveling up, else they'd get bored at max level and quit as hundreds to thousands of players on the NA/EU servers from top clans have...
IRT people playing since prelude. I don't know many people who have played since Prelude and can't get past level 78. There are lots of people who claim they cannot get past 79, which could be an issue when you consider the way many people were forced to box buffers to level at a decent rate up until recent updates. Lots of those people probably got new jobs that required longer work hours. Some of them are probably in the military and get deployed for 6+ months at a time. I think most of those claims are overstated. That's just my personal opinion. If not, then I'm willing to guess a large majority of those people took long (or even multiple medium-length) breaks from the game in since then, which obviously doesn't help your leveling speed.
As far as the botter card goes... I simply do not care anymore who's legit. The amount of "true legitimate" players on these servers is a distant minority. Being a sober ex-illegit does not make one legit, BTW. People like whoever you're referring to pull the botter card out for the same reason Pirotesa pulls the multi-boxer card... It ****** you off (obviously) and gets them attention.

Compared to the stupid e-bayers who go and buy hundreds of millions of adena...my income is like grains of sand. Everyone says "oh, you're qq" or "just play the market more". But these people complain about bots. Let's look at this logically:

Bots farm adena for RMT.
Of course, no one uses RMT.
Therefore, the bots shouldn't be everywhere.

Post the thread, sweetheart. Because from what I recall, you stopped posting as soon as I proved you wrong and proved you were begging for free stuff because you're lazy and shortly afterwards Sace locked the thread. No use saying you did something without the proof to back it up.
after 2 and half year I have decided to suspend account at least for 2-3 months.
There are several reasons. One of reason is that l2 take quit much of life time, another, more important, is that I do not see a point of character evolution. Let me explain.
PvP is most funny side of game for me.
All the time I have play game legit, I mean no bot software, no 3d software for pvp, no RMT and even no scam (ok, that is legal :)).
Finally I have reached 80lvl with main and also 2 subs (one 77lvl and other 78lvl). Also I have descent gear for all chars. For someone it may looks a lot, but actually it is very little in compare what lineage2 cheaters have.
I can never compete against top clan players. Why, because 80lvl plus standard skill enchants, standard equipment is very lousy against 85lvl plus 15+ skill enchants plus top gear plus epic jewelry.
It would be ok if that all this things have been acquired by legit way. In that case everything depends how much effort you put on it. But against cheaters it is hard to do that because till time when I reach 85lvl they will reach 95lvl (if NCSoft will implement this). Ok boting issue is not big as it was 1 year ago, but at least there are many top player parties boting 14+ hours a day monitored by one live player (less chance to be punished by GM's). I am not crying that I will not reach top level, me just angry that it easy achievable by cheating.
Next thing is that even IF I find appropriate level opponent (enemy), which may be equal with strength, but usually you find out that you even can not win against them, because they use another cheat program called Radar. It is public known secret that most top clans use that program (just because to compete between each other). Also no one was banned (or at least minor part) because of using that software.
So, what this post means?
It means that PvP game part is unavailable for most legit players in game. Grinding is not so fun to spend another 2-3y on that side. Meet friends, go group to kill some raid bosses, take fortress. That side is ok, but always you should look behind and if see big brother be ready to give him a what he needs. Just because you are non factor here.

Yeah, very much to the point, and I am glad there were at least a few people just posting replies before the thread got stupidly derailed ... as usual.
Well, doing the same - taking a leave that is - being a little sad about not being together with my nice clannies, but not currently willing to continue the game as it is.
If you want fair play - go l2.ru =) They have nice system to detect any 3d software. When they just implement it about 70% of players was banned but ... they dont have permanent ban from first time. First ban - 3 days, second - 7 days, third - 30 days and only after it you receive permanent ban. So they dont care to permanently ban player - if he is so stupid to get banned 4 times - it's ok to do it premanently.
If you're not having fun then deactivating your account is the thing to do. L2 has gotten the way it has due to the actions taken over the past 5 or 6 years, it is what it is. Good luck in your next game <0

As I stated in original post, boting is not that big issue as it was 1 year before.
Strict RMT policy gave some results I think.
Sad that there is no strict policy against other fields.
By the way I have read in other boards about fighting with enemies by using system weakness, kind of "enemy appear and you get 10+second freeze", best known example vuvuzela "wall".

There's still a lot of RMT botting, just happens at lower levels in lower level areas that you hardly go to - like in the catacombs. There are still tons of trains in those places. AA is selling for rediculous prices, so farmers get a bunch of adena from selling that as well.
Most high level botted toons are either players botting up characters/support, or farmers botting up characters to sell.
Most botters have multiple S80+ toons, and most people who run trains run multiple trains, so banning their main doesn't really do much. They'll just get another high level toon to play.
