As many of you know, Lineage II's 7th Year Anniversary is almost here! :D
The 7th anniversary date of when the game launched is April 28, 2011. We have lots of festivities in store for you. A newsletter will be sent out tomorrow, detailing all of the anniversary activities. The newsletter will go to both active and inactive accounts that have opted in for the newsletter. The anniversary celebrations include various perks and promotions for inactive accounts (as well as tons of stuff for active accounts), so if you have a friend that's inactive, we suggest you tell them to opt in for the newsletter so they can find out all the helpful details.
To opt in for receiving newsletters:
Log in to you NCsoft Master Account.
Click on 'Account Profile.'
The next page shows your account profile information. At the bottom of that list, it will say 'Receiving Newsletter' 'Yes' or 'No,' depending on if you are opted in.
If you are not opted in but would like to, click on 'Update Contact Information.'
At the bottom of the next page is a check-box. Check it, and you will receive newsletters. Be sure to click on Update to save your changes. All done!
Account Reactivation - Play for free from April 20 to May 4.
No charge. No really, no charge. It's a common misconception that an account reactivation event will charge your account, or start up your re-occuring billing again. These are false. Your inactive account can now play for free during these 14 days.
Please note that after the account ends on May 4 you will no longer be able to play unless you re-subscribe. Keep in mind that the subscription promotion (see below) end at the same time. So if you're reactivated and playing for free, and if you want to re-sub and get rewards for it, you need to re-sub before May 4!
Subscription Rewards - Available only from April 20 to May 4.
Everyone can get these, whether you're a new, returning or existing player!
Depending on what subscription plan you sign up for, you will get different rewards. Rewards include one month of free game time, a gorgeous black anniversary cloak, and a Hero's Treasure Chest. This last item equips a character with 90-day shadow weapons and armor from grade D to grade S! Basically, if you're coming back to Lineage II or don't have enough adena to get good gear in your next grade, don't worry, because with this subscription reward, we'll equip you!
Please note that these plans are only available during these dates! After May 4, they're gone.
7 Days of Double XP/SP and Free Teleports - April 20 to April 27.
That's right, one full week of double XP/SP!
The free teleports for this week are compensation for the Gatekeeper rebellion during the Player Appreciation Week. (The Gatekeepers revolted and insisted on charging players during that event, so we promised (http://boards.lineage2.com/showthread.php?t=213476) to bring them back at a later date. Here it is!) :)
All characters' Vitality will be filled during the maintenance of April 20.
GM buffs and Vitality refills will occur during the Double XP/SP week, but I'm afraid we cannot offer them on a regular schedule. Chronos will have Territory Wars and Castle Siege on this weekend, and buffs will not occur around those times.

There are no special perks in the newsletter itself.
The last newsletter we sent out was for the High Five launch. If you're sure you were opted in around February 15, 2011, did you receive at least the High Five one?
Also, opting in for NCsoft newsletters means you'd receive ones from other NCsoft games you have account with as well. I'm not sure when the other games' newsletters last went out, though.

Easter is on April 24 this year, but the deadline has to be Monday, April 25 for many reasons, mainly because we want the 80+ characters to get their gift by the time the Lineage II 7th year anniversary arrives, on April 28. It takes us a few days to process the list of 80+ characters and set them up for delivery. :)

That's strange. Did you check what email address is listed there? Are you sure you can access that email account and inbox? Perhaps it's going to a junk mail or spam folder?

Pasted 4 years since I play here. Maybe the tears could fall from my eyes if I remember back to my 4 years what I already spent here.

As I know almost every peoples who talked at this time still plays Lineage 2 and we still haven't children, except two members who had connection already in this time with each other they have child (but they are playing too:)).

I am so happy to celebrate the 7 years of lineage 2! I spent so many great moments the 5 years I play this game. Thanks for all the amazing gifts. Lineage 2 world needs more accessories and and agathions. I was so disappointed we didn't get to keep anything from the most resent events. I really love that staff (maybe cause I am a girl ^^') and even though I don't really like the rocket hat (wont look good on my Queen's head :P) I am very exited about the Pegasus agathion and the awesome capes!!!
There are many times I get disappointed by this game but I really love it and I am glad to see that it still has so much to give in the future. Can't wait for the up-coming amazing update!
And last a big thanks to Sase cause she is the most active from the lineage 2 team when it come to the lineage 2 community.

Zerberus plays L2 since the very begining .. and he defnitly made l2 history as the player who plays the very very longest time without ever using shots ^^ - he deserves that cloak! :P

So the last newsletter i had is the on from June 2009 and i havent received anny after annymore, i never unchecked the box but i did now just to make shure, uncheck recheck
log back in again to make shure its checked, and status says "YES" on receiving the newsletters, i always wondered why i never got ever since then but never made it a pressing matter, unless there be a code in them now !!!!

So far, we've only had double drops during the Player Appreciation Week last January. It's possible that we will have it again sometime, but not for the anniversary celebrations. :o

Changing an item like this is more difficult than it may seem, for various reasons. However, you may have noticed that we've started giving players different kinds of Vitality items (other than Revita Pops) that can be shared or traded in certain ways. While Revita Pops will remain untradable, players do now have some flexibility on sharing certain other Vitality items. Such as, see below...

2) Switch to an anniversary plan without canceling. When the anniversary subscription time runs out, your old payment plan will pick back up. This option cannot be linked, unfortunately. To do this, you need to log in to your NCsoft Master Account, click on the Lineage II game account that you want to apply an anniversary subscription to, and then click on the banner that advertises Lineage II subscription promotions. On this next page, you will see the options for 1 month (inactive users only) and 3+1 months. The 60-day game time card is not listed there because game time codes are applied differently.
You can add a 60-day game time card at any time. You don't need to cancel your existing subscription or wait until the existing billing plan expires. Apply the code at any time between April 20 and May 4, and you'll get the reward for it on May 11. The actual 60 days of game time will go into use immediately. After the 60 days expire, your old payment plan--whatever it is-- will kick back in.

If you're on re-occurring monthly subscription, you can change your plan to the 3+1 anniversary plan without canceling your re-occurring sub. If you do this, you'll be charged for the 3+1 on the day that your existing plan runs out (May 5, as you mentioned).
With respect to the the subscription "bonus" and "bonus gifts" that can be applicable to "existing players" if they renew 3 months etc or buy time cards, what is applicable to those of us who are on automatic roll-over 6 month / 1 yr subscriptions - I would hope that these "bonus gifts" automatically go to these type of subscriptions????? I for one don't want to go through the hassle of changing acct payments to get "a free month" and from a company standpoint it doesn't make too much sense to want these customers to change.
Since you mention 'bonus', I think there's some confusion. The Anniversary Gift Packs and the Subscription Rewards are 2 different things.
7th Anniversary Pack (4/27) and 7th Anniversary Bonus Pack (May 4) go to the highest level character on each server on each Lineage II game account, both active and inactive. Obviously, if an account is inactive, they will need to active the account to enjoy these gifts. Any unopened ones are removed on June 8, 2011.
As for the Subscription Rewards, answers to your questions have already been posted. I'll create a FAQ thread for this topic, since it is admittedly complicated and can be confusing.
Basically, whatever your existing payment plan is, you can apply one of the anniversary subscription plans between April 20 and May 4 and get the rewards. After the anniversary sub runs out, you return to your original payment plan unless you chose to cancel it. I would not say it's a hassle, but there are a few steps.

The e leveling incentive for people? You get a red cloak, but here is a black cloak to go with the TW cloak, Freya, Zaken and Frint cloak? Man I hate to sound funky but to a legit 85 archer in not yet nobled vesper I am a little disappointed. I am no math wizard but every three months you save $15. Which would be like a free 4th month. But you are still paying every 3 months. Not to mention you get to walk around with a cool Black Cloak (hands down better than the Teal Cloak (http://boards.lineage2.com/showthread.php?t=211024)).

Yes. You purchase the 3+1 subscription plan, and if you don't already have a payment plan on the account, you get charged immediately for 3 months. You will now have 4 months-worth of game time paid in full. If you already have a payment plan on the account, the 3+1 subscription will be charged to you when your existing paid time expires.

All subscription rewards game items are delivered to the players' warehouse during the maintenance of May 11.
I think you will get it with the rest, and if you cancel your sub after recieving gift, it might be removed by GMs.
This is not true. If you purchase a subscription plan, you get the reward. If you cancel afterwards, your game account will still be active for the length of time you purchased.
The cloaks will never be removed. We are removing unopened Hero's Treasure Chests on August 10. This is because the items are intended to be used before future game updates arrive, for various reasons. To not lose the chest, all you have to do is double-click on it (open it) before August 10.

Oh and i read your true post before you edit it.
The Goddess of Destruction update is not near August 10. Our date of removing the items has absolutely nothing to do with GoD update. We wanted to give people enough time to use the items appropriately as they wished, but still remove them at some point.

What if our game time doesn't expire until after the deadline you have displayed? All my accounts reactivated just the other day and won't need reactivating again till after may 11th, Just switching to that 3+1 gets the prize than? even if it doesn't charge me?

Yes. Switching to the 3+1 plan basically sets you up to be charged, get the game time, and get the reward on May 11. :) See the FAQ (http://boards.lineage2.com/showthread.php?t=215283) about subscription promotions, it explains how adding time on top of existing payment will still give you the reward.

I alredy have 3 months going on that I paid a week ago. So, my question is: if I pay for more 3 months now, even with my account being active and alredy on 3 months, will I get the bonus and the extra month?
So, this event says, that who pay before May 11th to 3 months his account than he will get a special item.
Well, for some private life reason may I can't play in May, June or July. So if i recharge my account at May 11th I will get the cloak, but is it available to freeze my account until I can't play?
Example if I won't be able to play between May 20th - July 2th can I freeze my subscription under this time? Because if I can't play I don't want, that my account will be active until I can't use it.

Well thought event? I don’t think so.
Yes at first sight its seems so, but if you analyze it further you can see fail here.
Hero chest is actually a problem.
Event can help you to raise you character from d to s grade. But it doesn't help to much, most players already have low level equipment or they can borrow such items from friends (its rare to see 76+ level player in a-grade now). At the same time availability of hero chests simply lower prices for all d-s equipment to a crystal cost.
So when player reach level 80 he never sell his equipment for decent money. S-grade doesn’t cost much already...but after the event s-grade items prices probably drop to the ground.
In addition.
I don’t think what shadow items from chest can be enchanted and probably items don’t have any attributes applied. That means what any player with such items will suck in pvp and will have trouble looking for a constant group.
And i also hope what NCSOFT bring GOD to EU/US servers before all shadow items disappear. Because if they don’t, we'll see biggest in lineage history rage coming from casual players when they lose equipment without ability to buy new one.
Funny but people which now cry in joy, can start to blame NCSOFT for this event, and many players can quit.
From my point of view.
Never make things too easy for player base because we all play games to reach goals, some players want to own olly, and casual players just want an armor set. If you provide player with all items he want, you can break all interest in game and force him to quit.

gotta remember one thing though, I'm taking a wild stab in teh dark that since these are in essence SHADOW armor and weps that they wont be elementable or if they are who is gonna waste that much adena elementing something that will vanish in 3 months....
This gear may stall the market but I doubt it will crash it cause people will still want stuff they can element.

Guess that would be fine if you do not want to play l2 anymore after getting those items. If you still want to play, it would be stupid to cancel (because you would lose the free 1 month of play time and would have to re-subscribe at the normal price).
I just used a 60 Day Game Time Card Code by using directly the link "Use a Serial Code" and not going through (I found out later) the Anniversary Banner which prompts you for the different payment methods / rewards.
Since I don't see any 60 Day Game Time Card method listed there now, I suppose that the applied code has successfully activated the gifts ? No need to go through the banner / special page for 60 Day Card ? Or I must do something else to activate the gifts ? Is there a method to check for the gifts other than just waiting until March 11 ?
would be nice to have the accessory not to expire in 7 days, of course skill last 7 days only...and some info about cloak bonuses revealed:)

@Sace can you tell us why Chronos have more help from GM's with revita and buffs during the day compared to Naia...I know most of GM's are USA but cmon you got an EU server also and there should be something like EU GM, for people to get revita on NA have to leave char logged over night (hopefully stable net) in order to receive this. Last revita on Naia was something like 03:30 am gmt+1...

Only way to do that would be active account time. Levels and time logged in game are deceiveing with a market like this. But I think they did a god job with this event since everyone gets atleast 1 robe. It's up to the customer if they get the other 2 or not.
Vit lasts 20 min / regen time 24 hrs / items vanishes 20 hrs after opening.

Also, I apologize for my incorrect previous answer, but using two 30-day game time codes will be counted as acceptable for the 60-day game time subscription! This billing stuff is really complex and confusing, sorry!

Every level 80 character (by the deadline) gets the red cloak, regardless of if its on the same account or same server or not.

It explains on the event page that the red cloak is delivered to eligible characters on April 27 (tomorrow-- this will be mentioned in the maintenance post as well). The white cloak goes out in the anniversary bonus pack on May 4. The black cloak goes out to players to subscribed to that reward on May 11.
The vitality maintaining buff on the Black Gem Mask lasts for 5 minutes.

I 2nd that because I do not want to use the Zaken agathion at the same time as the l2 letter event since it gives you an attack speed buff anyway. When we open the pack do some of the items exist in their own mini boxs or the timer runs from the second we open the bigger pack?

Sace, could you comment on the stats of the black cloak, is it better than the blood red one? Ditto on the white one.

Thanks for the reply, I believe that a note about that should be made about that. I was expecting something like that and did not open the box (to keep the mask untill needed / efficiently used) but for some others with less imagination that was a bad "surprise".
Consider putting in different boxes items with timers for future events so it will be completely a players fault if a countdown trigger is activated and items inside "large" box can be used separately.

Logic dictates that both these cant be correct, since they are in conflict with eachother.
they could said it dont stack with prophecy befor i stuck with 30 min useless buff on my EE , also if its meant to be alternative to the prophecy why it give only fighter bonus and no mage

If you never used the code on the 60-day time card, it should still work. Applying it now will count towards the rewards for that subscription.
The buff of zaken sword agathion is in conflict with CoV and similar, not with VoP. Sounds logical.

Party Buff vs Clan Buff - see different... :)
Then I guess Might, Battle Chant, and Attack aura should not overwrite each other and stack for a nice, hefty bonus, cause one is a targeted buff, one is a party buff, and the other one is a self buff. They are "different", right?
The point is, Zaken Buff should either override all prophecy-like buffs, or not any of them. The VoP exception is clearly a flaw.

You are correct, my mistake. The cloaks can be equipped when wearing Moirai, but not when wearing regular Vesper. I'm making correction edits now. :)
While taking a look at players that have been signing up for the Anniversary Subscription Rewards, we've seen that some players have been switching back and forth between different subscriptions. Please understand, you need to keep your account on the subscription you want rewards from in order to get the rewards.
Choose the subscription with the rewards you want, apply that subscription to your account, and don't change anything about for now. :)
