is it to hard to say that u was about to announce the PTS of GOD and something happened and u canceled it?

My opinion - the news of the PTS. But as far as I know, the last assembly was not stable on XP. But the problem is easily solved by rolling back to the previous one assembly. I could be wrong. Maybe x4 Event? :)
i came here from L1 3 months ago and this is the same NC that sucked over there. i learned 10 years ago not to hold my breathe for anything from them. they will make promise after promise and never fulfill them. when i was told about a BIG annoucement today i told my clan that this is NC and they will wait until the last possible second to tell you sorry and not give you any info. if they was anykind of decent people they would have made up something like " another stupid event next week" or " GoD almost ready for test" but instead they come with this. but what can i say i am like everyoine else we all knew that this is how they are but we still play thier games.....
Just make the game free to play like russia L2, nothing else can safe this game for NA/EU.
Put some premium account in (2x exp/droprate, not to much ****), people by nature are greedy and want to be better then the other so you will pull in a lot of extra subscriptions.

This is just a small list of advices.
1: DON'T WAIT THE LAST SECOND People is waiting and talking about this new for 2 weeks. It isn't nice to disappoint them when the day this new was supposed to be published, is almost over. If you know you just can't make it, make announcements before people start to rage posting about hours left and hours passed.
2: DON'T SAY "A FEW MORE HOURS": this is even worse. This will only keep more and more people in front of pcs. And will increase the already huge disappointment.
3: GIVE OUT BOOBYPRIZES: starting a double xp week from now through an emergency maintenance wouldn't be a bad idea. You just can't say "we wasted your time, big new isn't ready, bear with it, byeee"
4: ENOUGH WITH APOLOGIES: working for a community doesn't give NCSOFT the right to just apologize each time it fails. A well-known company like you should perfectly know how to behave in such a situation. This will only make people angrier than before.
I'm really sorry for Sace. She only has to give bad news to many raging disappointed people.

1 thing at last... People are interested in playing this game. NCwest change your mind, change your politics, fire half of team and start all over.
This is a sad day for Lineage II. Whatever the big announcement is, you have lost the faith of the community once again.
NEVER promise anything to customers which you do not know for sure you can deliver on. Under-promise, over-deliver. For example, you could have chosen not to mention anything at all. Or if you must give customers the carrot at the end of the stick, at least tell us by the end of October, so when you get your announcement ready around the 15th, the 20th, or even the 25th of October, customers will be cheering.
Just be realistic in your delivery dates when you're telling customers. Between yourselves or to your bosses you can lie as much as you want, the dates can slip as much as you want, but once you're at the point of mass-mailing all your customers, the date has better been set in stone.
Or at the very least, let the customers know in advance of the slip.
You guys are lucky you work in the gaming industry. Imagine if yesterday Apple would've gone to the big press conference, thanked everyone for coming, and said they're sorry, but their big announcement wasn't ready. The next time they'd hold such an event, they'd be lucky if media companies even sent in interns to cover their next product. No. Apple took the stage as they promised, and they announced a new phone, as they said they would. That's the example I'm hoping NCSoft will someday follow.

1st: Why so much hate? Because they tent to fail and fail on and on, maybe like 70% (don't even bother to ask me where I got that %) if not more. Then because they don't do anything against pvp illegal programs, yet ruOff does, and even Warcraft have something like that in their game. Yet NC West does nothing. So yes I would like to see the day when the failure clans that now are top ones gets mass banned for that thing and there won't be any more player versus program pvp.
2nd: An announcement. Yes, a thing like that, quite a simple thing if it was an announcement and they failed to do it.

I commented earlier that it's great to see they still have a level of consistency even after 7 years of this stuff (they actually said in a newsletter back in like C1 that server transfers would be coming soon lol) which was pretty much tongue in cheek but there is seriously way too much rage going on here.
For anyone too ******ed to understand this is what will have been going on.
Today they'd pretty much have been ready to announce PTS for the Goddess update. There has quite clearly been some technical hitch with the intended launch of said PTS (we've seen this happen before with events, one being quite recent) that was completely unforseen meaning that the information they wanted to give is now null and void.
Could communication be better around this? I think it probably could but hey, **** happens sometimes and we'll get PTS a little later than expected.
There are honestly some people in this thread that strike me as the sort who would complain to their credit card company about a late fee on their account because they didn't have the money to make the minimum payment on time, citing the reason as to why is because the credit card company kept giving them a higher credit limit causing them to spend more and that they shouldn't have allowed them to spend that money.

If this was the first and only fail of NCwest towards customers i wouldn't even mention it but since they have many in their history I HOPE by posting my feeling have a chance of changing something.
Anyhow its a win win situations since it can go only 2 ways:
1)some of the BIG heads of NCWEST saw how we feel and tries to change things (plus i write it to them and my anger goes away) 0,00000000000000000000000000000001% chance

Not sure why everyone gets so frustrated by these kind of things. Seems like everyone was hoping for the GoD PTS for some reason. The people who absolutely need GoD to stay interested in the game aren't doing themselves any favors. If you're not having fun with the game right now, GoD is just going to delay the inevitable for you. Take a break.

I agree with the train of thought that the PTS was actually going to be launched today, but some hitch caused the delay, hence they can't announce something that's not going to happen.
But since we don't have an ETA on how long this delay is going to be, I anticipate more page refreshes than prior to the expected announcement date. S'ok.. sometimes these posts are more entertaining than the announcements anyway.

Just look what's going on on the Russian PTS, which they bravely launched with a bulk of bugs (carefully delivered by NCsoft).
I can imagine how much you'd whine then, having to "play" on a server that gets shut down every 30 min as soon as another critical fix needs to be done.

If the big surprise was that there wouldn't be any surprise, I'm not surprised. And no, I'm not going for "Awww, they are doing the best". It's a company, they make money with what they sell, we buy the product and we have the right to be unhappy about their service, which haven't been the best latelly. Indeed it's desapointing waiting two weeks for the right day, and then wait all they long to see what they'd finally bring to us, and then say it's late? if it wasn't 100% sure they'd have it working alredy, so shouldn't make an announcement at all, we wouldn't know about it, and there would be nothing to wait for. Saying "I'm sorry" and then doing it again is getting old.

This delay makes me think that the big anouncement is not the PTS release time. Maybe it is a pre-awakening event (that helps players familiarize with GoD environment), as they had in Korea before GoD PTS.

They have over and over again proved their ineptness at achieving *anything* with any sort of efficiency.
To the NCSoft West top management: You should re-evaluate the staff you have hired (and this is not targeted at any staff in particular). Because it's obvious that things are not remotely up to par...
If the delay on this 'announcement' is a big delay, you should have notified us *days* AHEAD of time... If it's a small delay, you should release what you have and state that it is *incomplete*, then update it when you finished it.
This is a complete lack of respect for you customers to give them false hope, then slapping them in the face when the time comes for you to DELIVER.

Its hello kitty island adventure, best pve evah. Anywayz, the big deal is that the GM's made it a big deal by announcing that an announcement would occur october 5th. If it is just an announcement of "when the pts will be ready" I don't see the need to delay putting out a date say a month from now and scramble like mad to meet the deadline, it seems at least people would have a timeline to look at and if you're off a week or 2 I'd say w/e but delaying what ever big news there was going to be announced seems poorly thought out and wreckless. Already seen too many people offloading their accounts to cash out on L2 and walk away. Don't need to see anymore, if anything would hope the update would bring old ones back and maybe new ones.

I dont think that NC has any competent and smart management. If they would have, then changes would be done long time ago. Before they had to merge servers into 2 left. Smart management would reailize way sooner they lose players and do nessesary changes and actions to attract more people to their product (standart behaving of any normal company, to get more customers and to their best for it)

That's why serious men/companies NEVER announce that they intent to make an announcement.
They just make it when it's time.
Not her fault (at least not entirely) that this happened, but it's the nature of her job to deal with the customers.
Unfortunately she did poorly this time, there are no excuses for this mess-up, you have had all the time since you told us about 5th oct to evaluate the readiness of the announcement, but you chose not to deal with it until the day came and returned back to the "sorry we don't really have a date or deadline for anything"
It's *OK* to have delays, just don't tell us about the delay on the day it's due... especially not when you have NO estimation whatsoever on the length of the delay...
I don't know what kind of customer relations experience that you have had, I have had a good 4 yrs of dealing with nice people to down-right jerks for customers even though I'm not officially a CR person.
My experience tells me that most customers are nice to start with, until you piss them off... like we are now.
The occasional jerks can be dealt with by shoving the rulebook in their face (or in my job, the contract), so if you think we're jerks, please do so. But be wary that using that method will piss off the customer no matter if they are nice or not.
I hope you have learnt your lesson, and I expect improvements. And to summarize what I believe you should do:
1) Be as honest as you can to us
2) Better to tell us problems before we find out (example: when Sony Playstation Network was hacked, they *knew* but decided to keep quiet. Look how it turned out for them. Sweeping dust under the rug solves nothing in the long-run, and as a company as large as NCSoft, I do hope long-running goals are in place...)
3) Don't take our good grace for granted. We are your life and blood. Mistreat us at your own peril.
Not her fault (at least not entirely) that this happened, but it's the nature of her job to deal with the customers.

I do not understand why not tell the truth. Why hide. Could announce that they are not ready for GOD, than to deceive so many people. Did not force anyone to post the announcement on October 5. Always see the same phrase ......apologize .... bla bla bla.
another reason why blizzard's mmo have 1000x more players than nc soft in L2. they are treating ppl seriously,if they say sth they do it. and apart from other thing which they will never let go in wow( like bots and 3rd programs) couse there is ban in like 1 day for that person,is that they are not ******* on ppl. Serious staff / management / companies / whatever always try to avoid announcing an announcement.
An when they do, they don't fail. And in case of failure they always announce something. You don't cancel an announced announcement.
A honest but serious management would just say:
"We were about to announce GoD PTS at Oct 12 but due to blah blah blah we can't make an announcement for a definite day. Blah blah blah"
A dishonest but clever management would just say:
"Due to players feedback about the previous event blah blah blah we announce that a BIG event is coming at Oct. 12 for you to prepare for GoD. The event blah blah blah"
All the anger and frustration of players comes from the complete failure to deliver at least something. If you just said what was all the fuss about there would be no problems at all (only the regular whining).
We did not know what was it about anyways, nor you promised something specific that you could not deliver. Only thing you promised was an announcement. Nothing more nothing less. And you should deliver an announcement.
Maybe different than the one originally intended but there should be something.
I have to laugh on you guys, how big drama you are able to do about it.
1. Nobody hit Sace for the bad news, not she develops the game here, she only tell the news what sometimes good, what sometimes not so good.
2. I guess the whole NCwest staff believed till the end, that they can complete that thing what they did announcement to us to October 5.
3. Always can happen something what wasn't in the calculations, maybe one of computer has any problem, so need repair it until, they can't continue the work.
4. I'm sure in it that the whole NCwest Lineage 2 staff would be much more happy if they could give us a really nice surprise than we who get it. I'm sure in it that they want show it, that they able to do something big too.
5. Really useless to always ask, the NCwest when will GD pts, it will when it is done. Do you really want kind of useless PTS like ruoff has? Than you again continue the drama. Sace already told a month ago, they could release a PTS at anytime, but why it would be good when maybe many things was bugged? Only the Russians has anyway a useless pts, not has another not Korean regions, so the NCwest in quite time to release the PTS or the game.
6. Also saw some guys who again made problem here about the "pvp cheaters". It is also so funny, that just here necessary for some peoples to use cheats in pvp. While a part of them able to cry in game or in the forum that cheats are bad, while they already use it.
But when I ask from these peoples, just tell me, why do you use these cheats? The answer is the next "Man, I have no time, I have a real life." But this is not answer! Everybody has a real life, nobody play from the graveyard.
What do you think the Asian peoples hasn't a real life? Let's see what kind of economic they have and how faster they able to improve their country as in the western areas. It wouldn't work in same way if all Asian only would play with video games. Also you can watch the Korean Lineage 2 site, you can see they have family, they have real life too.
So the problem inside the EU/NA peoples/players, they want everything, but they want to do nothing.
7. Those who quit from the Lineage II, just because the NCwest made or make mistake, while they say they love the Lineage II these peoples are lie. Interesting I'm here since 4,5 years and I never felt that the NCwest did something why I can't enjoy the game.
I enjoyed and enjoy play with Lineage II in every seconds. To me quite enough, that service what the NCwest make at now it was enough too, what they made in the past.
And I always be really thankful to the whole NCwest staff why I can play with this great game!
8. If the NCwest make mistake anywhere it is the next. If they plan to, do something, but at the end can't do it in time, they never give reasons. I guess all of us understand from the reasons. Would be much better if they would say example "GD pts at 15th of November", but if they earlier ready with it, just say "guys GD pts at 25th of October". Than the peoples would be happy. Or yes if something already was failed, than yes would be fine if they give any gifts.

I think that too many people were reading into the "announcement" way too much and were putting their lives on hold to find out what it is.
In the real world, "stuff" happens, and you know what, your life will go on.
You all are blaming NCWest, but did you ever think that it could have been NCK fault.
Everyone complains that NCWest can not do anything - are you new here? It is a well known fact that NCK controlls everything.
My personal feeling it was the PTS anouncement (or the win a date with Moxie/Sace), but perhaps one of the NCWest QA/QE people found a massive bug and when reported it to NCK, NCK said "sorry, going to take us a few days to fix".
Being in software development, it blows to miss a deadline that you stated, but sometimes there is a very good reason to do it. If this as Apple, would all your iFanboi's be up in arms as well...

People tend to joke bout any bad events that happened, just to get over it easier. And its not nessesarily meant bad, its just a way how to make it easier, to deal with tragedies and keep going on. It goes on like that for ages...

IMO if the staff is nice you can get by with a failure of service sometimes. Sace is a good customer service rep so thats possible. But none the less your paying customer base has been shaken. Its always good to give customers a little something extra when your business fails to deliver, just an I'm sorry token of little to no value can make a jilted customer feel good enough to let it slide and come back again. So since Sace bungled the delivery of the bad news, I think we have the right to our petty demands.
And you obviously DONT work with people. You dont seem to know anything about them. Or maybe you're that person thats been working on the customer complaint line so long you hate EVERYONE.

In a perfect world, maybe. In reality, they get an update festered with bugs (ask Innova to get a clue what they have to deal with). Someone must find them, report, and ask for a fix before they make it to the live servers.
I mean for how long someone should wait to get an update?
As long as it takes to retrieve a workable version from the Korean dev team.

Something that I just noted: Purposely or not, the Announcement and it's delaying caused a huge income of player to the forums, either with rage or defensive words.
That's not an optimal and not even close cool idea of marketing, but it is still marketing.
I mean, they managed to get the attention of too many people... we have almost 10k guests on the forums at this moment.
Getting attention for lies or wrong reasons(not to say failures) is even worse publicity then everything else we know, that happens in this game.

Your monthly fee only covers server access, nothing more, anything above that is a bonus and you are owed squat.
And having worked in support, I can guarantee you the old "customer is always right" is a thing of the past and no company follows it, mainly because the customer is stupid

It is true that all your $15 a month guarantee you is server access, but thats like saying all you pay for at a clothing store is the shirt you buy, and that they dont need someone there to make sure all the sales are posted or guaranteed. Wouldnt you be upset if an item you really wanted was advertized on a certain day and didnt arrive? You expect it, it was written down that it was going to be there and it wasnt. This is akin to that, its a written date that they failed to deliver, granted it was just an "announcement" but it was something very important to draw customer attention. This happens every once in a while, and its only good service and customer handling to give the upset people a little something extra. An itty bitty token can go a long way with some people. In this case since its all digital, NCsoft can and should come up with something they can give away in game to express that they are sorry and understand people are upset. I think they are probably busting hump right now to get whatever went wrong working right, but all its going to cost them is someones hourly wage to give away w/e to the community and that is the cheapest thing.

Basically, you feel you are entitled something for getting all worked up over an announcement there will be a future announcement? Really, this is not like they promised you a free burger with every two burgers you buy. This is just like the news caster telling you to stay tuned to the eleven O'clock broadcast it will be something so important!! You tune in to the news and nothing is even mentioned... get over it.
I wish Innova to expand and make few english based servers lets say in EU for example. I would go and play there. I know there is a way to play on their current servers, but russian is kinda pproblem for me personally.
And for Drachna: You probably got no clue about companies management, marketing, and customer service. And how that work when the company acts the way to attract more customers and keep them! And NC West could have a big potential to attract many players to this game from the worldwide area they controll. But they are failing to do so and they act exactly the opposite way then one would expect to (they try so hard to lose customers instead of getting newones). And i think this is the main reason why people are upset. Since they are losing friends they used to play with, and even if they would like to keep playing there is noone new comming to the servers to replace this lost friendships. And game becomes more or less boring because of this too.

Are you serious? I must assume you are just trolling as you yet again refer people as someone contemptible and there is no point discussing with you.
You love to throw that word entitled around but never once had I demanded anything Dracha. My entire point is that they screwed up and then provided poor customer service in relaying that they could not make the deadline that they set. Usually oranizations that miss deadlines make sure to announce it with a little more tact to help smooth the feathers they ruffled. So, these continually let down and jaded customers should be delicately handled. There are two ppl on chronos right now with "I'm quitting" sales. Financially it makes more sense to smooth things over with a little bribe shall we say and entice the customer to come back. It's better for the community when there are more players, even if they are players you dont agree with.
If i watched a news channel and they had some huge announcement but didnt announce it while the others did, I would be upset. As I am here, as I would be in any other scenarios you can compare this too. I'm simply trying to help out with some heart felt player suggestions... That I could benefit from ;)

Lineage 1 despite its older graphics had fairly large player base (still a huge game in Korea)
"missed deadlines" be it hotfixes for bugs patches delayed for 2+ years saw the population go from healthy to done in a fairly short timeline.
I just don't want to see l2 close like l1 and lets face it NC has shown it is more then willing to close its own NA games.

you could just as easily made the announcement whenever you were ready to and nobody would have known if it was late or not, thats the beauty of a announcement your giving ppl a bulletin of information. instead you tried to be cute and get ppl excited about this super special news that was coming soon (and probably wasnt anything to be excited about anyway "GoD is on its way" yes we all know who cares jus get it done) and now all your pre announcement announcement has done is made your customers even more frustrated.

For the record I never called anyone pathetic. If you or anyone is actually upset because they didn't announce anything yesterday and plan to quit, posting your emotional state in the forums for all to see is not going to help. Quitting because this or any combination of other issues is not going to change anything here or in the next game you play.
Get a grip on yourselves for GoD's sake this is just a game and you should be having fun, not rocking back in forth in the shower crying because an announcement is delayed. See if you parents will take you to a movie, the park, skating or just drop you off at Kid's Quest for a few hours. Don't get all stressed about this, save it for the "My main is all Nerfed now!" post you will be typing a few weeks from now.

That kind of generalization is insulting. If you're going to insult us, do it right. Not all of us are so lazy in the game we have to use a bot program... but in comparison to Korea, we're probably lacking when it comes to reporting bugs, etc. And by that I mean in the proper format, and not by whinging about it on the forums. And we're certainly not lazy in general when it comes to spending a lot of time and effort in crying over a missing announcement on the forums. Lazy? Pfffft.

Obviously something happened at the very last minute, as several hours before the non-announcement Sace still believed she was going to be announcing something. I think we've speculated the possible announcement to death... let's redirect our playful assumptions as to why it didn't happen. Maybe the person responsible for pushing the button on the PTS experienced a real-life tragedy and out of respect for him/her, they decided to delay the announcement. Of course, this is assuming that the announcement was about the PTS. Who knows? Maybe they were going to announce something that in comparison to the PTS seemed kind of lame, and after reading all the posts here they decided to delay the announcement and push to get the PTS up before the weekend instead? Here's an idea. Maybe they were going to announce (as someone else suggested) that L2 is going FTP and putting up a cash shop when GoD goes live. The draw is that only current paying customers get to see the new content on the PTS. I can't help myself, I'd still rather speculate on what the announcement was then why it didn't happen. :o

Wrong, we never got full H5 with all its updates (part4) like they did. For example extreme freya, we never gotten the patch to fix its stats to make it easier. Unlike russians. And so on ...
Why NCwest, unlike Innova, is not telling the details is a different story. I guess they've learned this secretive style of community management from their Asian bosses. :)
Actually that's not true as for example NC Taiwan has very impressive communications with their player base, almost even better then the Koreans imo.. Koreans <> all Asians :P

I want this here... Actually, we have something on the "Sace's Blog" of sorts, but it sound more like ads for the update and it's too sparse (Pun Intended).
Like we had about 3 Sace's Blog posts and the Q/A GD has been up for a while... and they aren't that detailed...
I guess people would be more hopefull if we didn't had a "In day X you will see something huge and secret until there!" and had more details like "I've played the Iss Enchanter today for a while. It's skills are way better than before! It's buffs may stack with this, that and that another old buff".
But that is just me... I'm still playing and still waiting...
I would like to add here that ChildOfHeaven's blog serves not only the purpose of informing the players (= customers) about GoD content (= the product). Since she also talks about the problems she and her team run into during the localization process (for example in the article Draecke linked, about a possible bug with the Tree of Life), this increases the understanding among the players for NCTaiwan's situation, that they don't have it easy and that there is far more involved than just translating.
Apart from that, with those work reports ChildOfHeaven is buying time. There is a new one every two or three days, so people have always something new to discuss (click on 回應/replies above the blue guy with the glasses at the bottom of the article). NCTaiwan does not need to artificially create a hype with an announcement about an announcement, iPhone style. They simply do their job, and people respect them for it.
Moxie, I think it would be a really good idea if you would ask Cryo to type up a short report every evening about what he did during the day. Something like "Tested Crystal Caverns quests. 'In the Coral Garden' bugged, but don't despair, Korea found a fix on September 28." This would go a long way to appease the enraged player base :)

For those screaming that "large companies" never delay an announcement, you may wish to check again. A little company named Samsung, along with their tiny partner Google, just did exactly that this week.
If anyone still believes this coming announcement is simply the start date for GoD PTS, I can't help you. Whatever it is, clearly NCSoft believes that putting out half the story without all details decided would cause more harm than good, with speculation filling in the gaps.
My guess (and this is only a guess) is that a form of free to play/freemium is coming to our servers. IF this were the case (which is only a guess!) you could see how such an announcement without the details (or worse with incorrect/unapproved details) would generate large problems.
I would not be surprised if it were something completely different though.
Whatever it is, take your time and get the details right, Sace. But hurry it along, eh? ;)

Perhaps you were being facetious throughout your post, but you do realize how incredibly unlikely that a large collection of people who supposedly make up excuses when they fail at work would congregate in this self-described niche game, all converge on the official forum where not even the majority of L2 players post and also all converge on the same topic of NCSoft failing yet again?
What you're seeing is the result of NCSoft having burned away all remaining goodwill over the course of the seven or so years that this game has been in operation here in the US. You can only go so long making mistake after mistake and blunder after blunder while also completely neglecting your product's consumer base before they all eventually turn on you.
Consumers are willing to put up with a certain amount of ******** from a given company (goodwill), but once that capital has been spent, it's very difficult, if not impossible to get it back - the relationship between the company and its customers can only be strained so far before it finally breaks.
However, unlike most other companies, NCSoft doesn't seem to be very interested in rebuilding that relationship as evidenced by how NCNA continues to operate and conduct themselves in front of their remaining (L2NA/EU) customers.
Even as far as 5 years into L2's NA/EU operation, fanboys like DrakaVonKraken or whatever were commonplace in this forum, zealously defending NCSoft's every fault and every misstep against even the most reasonable and rational criticism.
That kind of fanatically-deluded defense of NCSoft was what you could expect from scores of forum posters here before, but people like that are now minorities amongst the discontented who now populate these boards. Some former "zealots" have even turned against NCSoft since then.
NCSoft did it to themselves. Had goodwill been maintained and cultivated, rather than spent and burned over the years, a hiccup like this would likely have gone over much better.
Since there's no goodwill left for NCSoft to rely upon, this and every other misstep will result in the verbal lashings you see today.
In regards to the Taiwanese CM's pseudo-official "blogging" or whatever, the difference there is also related to goodwill - where the Tawainese CM is likely perceived as someone who genuinely cares about the game and wishes only to share her personal experiences with unreleased content with their community, our CM (and NCNA as a whole) is viewed quite differently.
Sace is viewed in an entirely different light due to the lack of goodwill benefitted to her (due to NCNA's and its representatives' history of fail) and her actions will be scrutinized to the fullest because of that.
Instead of saying "Wow, that's really awesome!" when the Taiwanese CM illustrates what PvP will be like in her blog or whatever, customers over here are more likely to say "Well, it's about ****ed time they did something about the broken PvP balance in this game, and I doubt it's very balanced at all because Sace doesn't know how to play the game as well as we do." or "Maybe she should learn how to play the ****ed game, maybe by updating the website some, before commenting on how awesome PvP is in GoD?"
As for the announcement, is this rescindment of an announcement that was likely to be at least the start date of the GoD PTS kind of a minor issue? Sure.
But, especially after Sace teased everyone by further teasing an announcement (http://boards.lineage2.com/showpost.php?p=3089749&postcount=141. Really? All-lights-go to a full-stop in 6 hours time? Sounds like poor planning to me, rather than something catastrophic that truly couldn't be predicted.), and after years of disappointment after disappointment, is it surprising that this may be the straw that broke the camel's back for so many? Yet another fail, this time of something so seemingly within NCNA's ability to predict (Will the build we got from Korea work on our servers without fixes required? Agree with Orc, I've been playing this game on and off since beta and it's only gone downhill. Compared to other MMO's the developers clearly don't care at all. If other popular MMO's were as broken as L2 the dev's would be scrambling to fix it. It's quite clear that compared to NCKorea the people running the game really don't know anything about the game and it's quite sad. Other games need to come out already so I have no reason to play this game anymore, not that I even log in much at all.
I agree with Orczilla too. This ranting here does not express the player's frustration over a delayed anouncement. It is more of an outburst due to the many mistakes/omisions from NC's part over the years.
The delay of the anouncement might be quite justified due to an unforseen event (especially if it is related to an event as I think it is) or maybe result of somebody's fault. We don't know, but NC does. When the actual anouncement comes, most of this conversation will be gone and forgotten. What will not go, is the poor opinion that players have for NC and I think this is what they really need to deal with. Players patience is long gone and even the smaller mistakes will casue anger, frustration and possible cancel of subscriptions.

Like I said I've been on and off since beta with breaks sometimes longer than a year, and yes I do have hope for GoD. If it wasn't for GoD I wouldn't have even resubbed. Let's just hope NCWest doesn't mess it up royally.

I'm not here since beta, but since C4 (approximately one year before my forum registration) and I would greatly temperate this "going downhill" vision. To me it sounds like people saying we have less and less with time IRL while in fact more and more people have more and more complex technologies in their homes. That's a feeling.
From what I remember, there weren't more fanboys, these boards have always seen the same outcries. The population has been decreasing since a long time ago for lots of reasons, because of NCsoft or just personal. Statistically, there's less fanboys too. Logical. However, CMs (Sace included) have always been rather popular. During Alyra's time you would here "Alyra's the best" and now you here "Sace and Moxie are the best" and people barely remember Alyra and have totally forgotten the one before who was the best in her time. That's because they answer to questions, and that has always been unlinked to NCsoft West fails.
Honestly, the service has actually improved. As far as I remember, never bots have been dealt like this current time did. All the "NCsoft is payed by gold farmers" accusations just shut up. Of course it's not enough. Still we're not downhill but a little uphill. About events? Every team has had its good events and its total fails. Our last one was stupid. But that would be dishonest not to remember the pumpkin event with A-Grade crystals as top drop during Gracia. NC West probably reruns these events because NC Korea doesn't give new ones.
And besides, lots of problem in L2 here come from the way Korea treats us. So it's nice to jump on NC West's throat, but if they have shackles and no way to defend themselves, that's a bit unfair. But there have always been people to remind others of what NC West can do and what they can't do.
To this particular outburst, Sace showed enthousiasm by teasing her announcement and even before the delay of the announcement, it became a mountain here on the forums. I will tell you something : I didn't see that teasing when it occured. I missed it. But I didn't miss all the noise caused by it. So really I clearly see it blowed out of proportion. Why? Is it because the service went downhill? Not at all, the reason is GoD. The more we're near GoD, the more tensed is the situation. There's the pressure of other L2 publishers (are we late?), the tension because it's a game-changing update occuring when the population is lower than ever... everybody is excited to see what their favourite character/class/gamestyle has become, trying to find informations everywhere. Lots of players are anxious. And I think it's more anxiety that caused that delayed announcement to become that rage festival than a real downhill of the quality of service. We couldn't have been downhill anyway when I started L2. People may be worn down by the too slow too little improvements, but clearly GoD's the real catalyst.
So basically, tl;dr : hold your rage for the real announcement, the real content and not the wrapping. You may need it.

1. The Lineage 2 staff of NCwest never did so huge mistake why you should talk about them in this form! Yes, we have problems with PvP cheaters atm, but It isn't so huge problem and I trust in Moxie's words, that they will solve it.
Let's take a look at only recent history, shall we?
1) NCNA change of policy from perma- to temp-bans.
2) NCNA implemented server-side detection for generic PvP program use that attempts to weed out PvP program users programmatically, which only means that those who use more custom scripts still get away with it.
3) NCNA ******* up and miscommunicating what will and what won't be transferred through the server merge, then telling us all to "get over it" instead of making amends for their mistake. One of the item types in particular would take months, if not years, for players to regain themselves, and only after about a month of demands in one of the longest-running threads in this forum's history (I believe the only other thread that runs longer is the bot thread) did NCNA agree to a reimbursement.
4) How many times are our seeds and crops going to have to disappear between updates and merges before NCNA remembers to either tell us that they won't be transferred or to make sure they'll be transferred after telling us that they will be transferred?
Those are just the few things that I'm bothering to remember off the top of my head from the recent past, and all are the fault of NCNA.

Not really sure what you're saying here, but this is what I'm assuming you're saying:

If that's the case, if you don't like what you're reading certain peoples' posts, feel free to put them on ignore.
I freely admit that I have a problem with Sace and Moxie because despite however much they may attempt to portray themselves as being more transparent than their predecessors, and in a few specific respects they're successful in that, they're still very much in the same mold of their predecessors in that they're puppets to NCKorea, who obviously doesn't care one iota about what's going on over here.
If it weren't Sace and Moxie filling the roles that they're currently filling, I would have just as much, if not more, of a problem with whoever would be filling their roles for the same reason.
However, they are the face of NCSoft that we have to deal with, which is unfortunate for them, but that's their jobs.
When we have issues/complaints, Sace and Moxie are supposed to be our conduits to those who can actually make changes to the game, and if after years of sending the same ****ed issues/complaints through that conduit, nothing is done to address these issues/complaints, how the hell do you expect people to react to that?
We've already had several mass exoduses of players from the game already due to the non-response from NCSoft to our issues/complaints, and the remaining discontented will channel their anger through the very same conduit.
As for these posts delaying GoD content from being released here, that's just dumb.
First, Sace's job is to deal with the community. She's the Community Manager, ffs.
Second, Moxie is the producer. She coordinates the various teams allocated to her by the greater NCNA management towards pushing out whatever project L2NA is currently working on, which includes the GoD update.
However, that doesn't mean that if Moxie has to respond to these posts, nothing gets done - I would expect a professional organization such as NCSoft to have employees who don't have to be told what to do at every minute of the day.

3. Who has problem, just quit from the game. I play here from 4,5 years I never had problem, I always could enjoy the game.
First, I would be gone already if it weren't for the friends aspect of the game (which could be had in any game). If enough of them were to cancel their accounts today, I would be gone the very next second after.
Second, there's absolutely nothing wrong with wanting something better than what you're getting, especially when what you're getting is so piss-poorly supported.
While getting the table scraps of NCKorea may be fine for you, others are less-willing to say "Thank you, sir!" while taking it up the ***.
4. I really would be happy if those guys who are always flaming the NCsoft would get bann or just disappear from the forum and from the game to forever. Because not the bots, pvp cheater who are really has bad effect to the game play, the real reason you are!

5. NCwest maybe make some mistakes there, that they not say sometimes the details just "delay", "soon", "fall" etc. But honestly the reason of these you are, because these are your reaction, what is useless.
Assuming that you're saying that we're the reason why, when there are mistakes, NCNA doesn't tell us the details why there was a mistake and when there will be a fix.
Isn't it kind of indicative of how often they make mistakes that they have to turtle up in order to avoid the backlash? Maybe if they had made less mistakes and less often, they wouldn't have to fear backlash?
Instead, they usually don't even make amends for even the most egregious and ongoing mistakes they've made in addition to consistently making more mistakes as time goes on.
6. Sace or Moxie please try to solve, that we players can't see so much spammed message on forum. We read the forum to get informations and not for read just spam.
There are two solutions to this problem:
1) NCNA stops being run so piss-poorly and NCSoft starts actually supporting the game in NA/EU (or gets someone to do it better, like in other territories) so that we have less to ***** about.

It is time for those who are always unhappy people on the server. Who interfere with bots, a lot of spam on the forum, etc. Maybe them need a personal forum and game server?
I'm not here since beta, but since C4 (approximately one year before my forum registration) and I would greatly temperate this "going downhill" vision. To me it sounds like people saying we have less and less with time IRL while in fact more and more people have more and more complex technologies in their homes. That's a feeling.

From what I remember, there weren't more fanboys, these boards have always seen the same outcries. The population has been decreasing since a long time ago for lots of reasons, because of NCsoft or just personal. Statistically, there's less fanboys too. Logical. However, CMs (Sace included) have always been rather popular. During Alyra's time you would here "Alyra's the best" and now you here "Sace and Moxie are the best" and people barely remember Alyra and have totally forgotten the one before who was the best in her time. That's because they answer to questions, and that has always been unlinked to NCsoft West fails.

Check my registration date. I actually started playing before that date, and since then until around Hellbound when I left the game for a year, as soon as you said something remotely bad about NCSoft, you'd have all of them jumping onto your post defending NCSoft like you had just wronged them or their families in some way.
Also, notice how all the " is the best!" posts today usually come at or around events. Not really a coincidence.
Other than that, I really don't know wtf you're getting at here. As with any position that has a modicum of power attached to it, you'll have your sycophants.
But, if you're using that an indication that they're doing a good job or whatever, then using the same logic, you'll have to take into account the legions more people who are obviously dissatisfied with NCNA's service and admit that they aren't doing a good job.

Honestly, the service has actually improved. As far as I remember, never bots have been dealt like this current time did. All the "NCsoft is payed by gold farmers" accusations just shut up. Of course it's not enough. Still we're not downhill but a little uphill. About events? Every team has had its good events and its total fails. Our last one was stupid. But that would be dishonest not to remember the pumpkin event with A-Grade crystals as top drop during Gracia. NC West probably reruns these events because NC Korea doesn't give new ones.
Yeah, except the "improvements" in regards to the farmers came about 2 years too late to really mean anything at all to the community at large.

Had they done something that was in their power to do all that time 2 years earlier, maybe all those people who had left the game after spamming the forum and risking getting banned in-game wouldn't have left the game?
As for events, NCNA has the power to change event rewards. FFS, starting after the first event with Sace as our CM, she even asked us what event rewards we liked/didn't like so that they could adjust event rewards for future events.
Which brings up how the hell NCNA could possibly think that flooding the market with Anakim scrolls as event rewards would be a good idea....

And besides, lots of problem in L2 here come from the way Korea treats us. So it's nice to jump on NC West's throat, but if they have shackles and no way to defend themselves, that's a bit unfair. But there have always been people to remind others of what NC West can do and what they can't do.

To this particular outburst, Sace showed enthousiasm by teasing her announcement and even before the delay of the announcement, it became a mountain here on the forums. I will tell you something : I didn't see that teasing when it occured. I missed it. But I didn't miss all the noise caused by it. So really I clearly see it blowed out of proportion. Why? Is it because the service went downhill? Not at all, the reason is GoD. The more we're near GoD, the more tensed is the situation. There's the pressure of other L2 publishers (are we late?), the tension because it's a game-changing update occuring when the population is lower than ever... everybody is excited to see what their favourite character/class/gamestyle has become, trying to find informations everywhere. Lots of players are anxious. And I think it's more anxiety that caused that delayed announcement to become that rage festival than a real downhill of the quality of service. We couldn't have been downhill anyway when I started L2. People may be worn down by the too slow too little improvements, but clearly GoD's the real catalyst.
This may be partly true, but it's really naive for you to think that the generally-angry tone and severity of "rage" against NCNA wouldn't be less-so had we been treated like real customers rather than red-headed step-children for 7+ years.
Everyone knows that Diablo 3 is in the works, and everyone knows that Half Life 3 is also in the works. One has been delayed countless times while the other hasn't even been officially announced.
Do each game's respective communities get this angry over even major setbacks? Sure, there may be some tongue-in-cheek jabs against the devs/publishers of each game, but it never reaches the point where their communities start listing out the failings of the companies in question simply because there's still goodwill there - the communities, however disappointed, trust that the devs are doing right by them and are trying their best.
Everything about L2's NA/EU operation, however, reeks of poor management, half-truths, and consistently-terrible support. For seven+ years.
Starcraft 2 was in development for longer than that. And did the Starcraft community ever get this up-in-arms over something so insignificant?
The only thing in recent memory that WoW (more specifically, all Blizzard games) that had their community as angry was the whole RealID thing. And guess what? Blizzard listened to their community's concerns and they backed off, despite RealID obviously being a central piece of their monetization strategy of Battle.net.
That was a fight for privacy rights that was settled in about a week. We had to put up a fight for a whole month just to get a database script run to get our ****ed TW badges back several months later.
So basically, tl;dr : hold your rage for the real announcement, the real content and not the wrapping. You may need it.

Since they stated that we have another double xp before GoD i am not sure about the eta at all.
(but would be no suprise if 2x xp on live servers while PTS up :p)

People would be more patient if they would know what and why they are waiting for. To announce big announcement on 5th, then wait till last hours of that day and then say sorry we cant tell you, something went wrong and dont say anything since then, well I find this behaviour unfair to us. Almost week since that day and still no information whatsoever.

Zace137, maybe from some viewpoints you has right, but it is not enough to like them. Yes Sace and Moxie are two pretty girls, but mostly the players like them why they are contact with us much times as before the CM or Producer did it. I also keep to good GM Cryo or GMshark to say some names who are men and work here currently too.
But show me someone who didn't like HGMspam (he is man too), he was a really unique person and he made the first real steps against the bots.
But, example everybody did hate Cabel, TW badges, drastically server merges etc. Cabel also was a cold person like a dictator and not like a leader.

I tried GoD in russian PTS and there was 300% exp bonus believe me after 85 leveling rate is times slower then now. Seams that all was rumors that leveling will be easier. One of the reasons that leveling rate is slow is because there is very less spots for 85-90 for party play but there is lots of instance zones for solo unfortunatly in such a places you dont get much exp and adena drop is unbelievable low.

I see many QQing and arguing pretty much about everything.
People just need to chill out... The update is coming and it will always be better late than ever. It's not like it isn't coming.
Server population is down but the mainly reasons are community-driven (people quit because they will wait for GD; bad market caused by that and by the events because community won't stock the goods they think will be useless on GD; PvP Bots and so on...). Not saying that NC doesn't has anything to do with it but most of the reasons come from the players themselves.
You see, if you can enjoy the game or the friends you have in it or whatever that keeps you here, you shouldn't be angry about this or that. Try to hold on to things that makes you happy and pleasant. It's pretty much easy to complain but it is hard to see that things could be even worse.
Companies change their announcements dates often. The iPhone 4S was to be announced at Oct 5th but it was changed to Oct 4th, because, IMO, someone knew that Jobs was sick to death and due to Oct 5th. Samsung and Google changed one of their too.
Many problems we face occur because NC West is bound to NC Korea. Other bunch of them occur because of the community itself and people demand that the CM fixes the problem actively while they, a part of the community, sit and watch GM struggling to ban every reported person, while testing the coming update and keeping the server bugless, fixing the bugs they can and trying to avoid the ones that only NC Korea can fix.
Companies have problems. Complaining instead of trying to help them, expecting them to do their job while you relax and eat some popcorn, just to complain again and not be able to forgive anyone won't make things better.
I would be silent if my community fails to be a little more comprehensive and if it keeps calling errors from the past to say that the current team fails harder and harder.

I'm afraid I cannot give any more information (or announcements) until then. There is no ETA at this time. We are also working out the kinks that caused the last delay in the hopes of avoiding any further delays after we announce any ETAs.

I wonder if changes, which i suppose are meant to make community happier, will overweight disappointment which it caused.
