Update: due to extremely high-server capacity on Chronos and Naia caused by this event, the Tersi's Light event will end 1 week early on those two servers. On Chronos and Naia, the event will enter its final stage (when Fragments of Light do not drop from monsters) with tomorrow's maintenance. The event will continue as normal on Shilen, Magmeld and Bartz.

I thought that also, but staying logged in is only half of the equation here. You need the other items from hunting, and chances are that, in 4 hours of wearing the bracelet and also hunting, you might get an equal number of each in the end. If so, that'd prevent the need to stay logged into the game, because 500 of one item isn't going to be that useful when you only have 100 of the other.

Yeah they are. Usually my luck absolutely sucks when it comes to rewards and stuff, but this time around I opened up 4 30 day cloaks, an r grade scroll or something like that (sold it so I don't remember), and some other goodies. And I only opened 12 boxes.

"You can receive a maximum total of 25 Specter of Light items per day."
Specters of Light are fickle creatures and they may behave unpredictably. Here are some things to know about them:
- When leaving the Seed stage, there is a low chance that the Specter of Light may become a Mysterious Specter of Light. Although they are rare they have a better chance of dropping rewards.
- Specters of Light in all stages except for the last automatically despawn after 90 seconds.
- There is a chance that a Specter of Light may drop no reward at all, no matter the conditions of its cultivation.

Chronos/Naia flooded with afk ppl because of Mentor/Bot/etc.
Server cap was increased to 6300 first, last day - 6500 connection.
And now this event, when ppl need to be online to gather smth.
What next? Freezes every 5min? 3min? Unable to login not only at sieges or prime time (as we have atm), but also at "Monday morning"???
Maybe it's will be nice event with good reward, but ... DON'T NEED MORE AFK PPL
Personally, I'd like to see more competition in events like this, where you're fighting for a side.
I'd love to see followers of darkness have rewards just as good, so that you can set up sects to fight one another to see who wins...
This reminds a bit like Varka/Ketra "battle" or even 7s. I Agree it would be very interesting to see some more prominent story driving this event. Still, its a pretty cool event imo :D
lol i can see this already noone is going to be able to log in because the farmers will have made a bunch of new accts and be logged on to collect the Specter of Light items from agathions... atleast make them non tradeable to avoid that issue
SO, I definitely understand the concept of the event and how to go about evolving the spectres. However, when i position myself to push the shards into the circle, some (not all) are not being pushed at all.
This isnt because I am doing something wrong, or not understanding. I have gotten some to stage 3, and usually 2. But i have no idea why some of these shards wont be pushed at all by the tersi skill.
Am I doing something wrong here? I have noticed that the shards change to different colors. Is that it?
Also, anyone trying to do this event, GO SOMEWHERE WHERE YOU ARE COMPLETELY ALONE. PPL will try to KS the spectre from you.

I'm pretty sure I got lucky with that dye and the element stones...the rest were melody scrolls and low grade enchant/unseal scrolls. A few times the light dropped more than 1 item. Post your results so we can estimate the drop rates on these items
I released a few stones and got one green light, rest of them red. The green light dropped an 85+ CP potion while the red light dropped a D-Grade enchant/scroll and some melody scrolls.

People would not complain if the events they gave us were any good, in my opinion this one sucks worse than the Xmas one.
The rewards suck, the chances suck and the way the event runs in general is annoying as players are just given another reason to stay logged in 24/7.

The whole pushing-and-kicking-shards isn't bad but what gets me is that I keep (accidentally, of course) tapping my attack action and shooting the shards. xD

Nice event, but definately not for me. It's impossible to aline yourself with the shards and the specter when you have 1 sec delay at every mouse click ;(

Agree about the movement and lagg. But I must say I like it, it just takes way too long to get to all 3 or 5 stages it seems, and then it dissappears....
And why can't you let us use all these unbind scrols and stuff on our other alts on the same account?

The color of the shards makes no difference. It seems the shards are a bit harder to control the higher the stage. Sometimes they move to the side instead of forward, or don't move as far as another. You're doing nothing wrong. The shard behavior is just part of the mini-game.

It's unlikely that there would be an event that encourages players to log off, for whatever reason.
Crappy drops. However, doing ot with friends makes it easier and more bearable, and kicking the lights is fun when you don't have other things to do :D
An event that recharged vitality for players logged off would specifically encourage players to log off.
cool should be fine event for example
when you loged out less then 25 mins you will got +0% vit
when you log of for 25 mins and log back you will got +50% vit
when you log off for 30 mins and log back youll get +100% vit
when you log off for 35 mins and log back youll get +50% of vit
when you log off for 36+mins you got 0% vit
that should be help to server trafic but not much to login server ;)

With XP boost items on there shop and that's the main reason peoples using NC coins really is still p peoples dreaming for x2 XP etc etc? You should be happy you had the start buff for xmas.

Could someone PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE fix the 10 second reuse delay bug that appears on fragments of light? It's very stressful to missclick and have to wait 10 seconds when you didn't even use the **** item...
And what's with all the weapon/armor seal scrolls? Who the hell uses those scrolls for any other item other than S/R?(ok, maybe A) The same can be said about Enchants...
Even the buff scrolls are useless. You can buy milk & other full buff pots for 200k and get all buffs. Why bother with melodies? What can they be sold for? 20k each?
In my opinion, the drops should only consist of attribute stones/crystals, a/s/r enchants/weapon seal scrolls, unbind scrolls and qhp/cp pots. These are the only things that still have a slight value on the market. All other things can be considered junk...

About the x-mas event, the buff was awesome (especially before you "fixed" it lol), but the rewards from the boxes were terrible. This new event seems pretty good from the little I've done it, and I know I appreciate the better reward items for higher lvl ppl.
Edit: However, the legion of naked dwarf bots that randomly attack my shards is not really cool. Wtb reflect dmg on shards (actually I'm gonna see if freezing skin works on them lol).

Why is NC putting up an event the server can not stand? Like seriously, havin the server crash x-times per evening and havin NPC server lagged out totally for the whole day is not enjoyable at all. :mad: Naia down, again. Npc lagged out since middle of the day, again. Only in early morning the game was playable ... can't wait for this "event" to be over already.

glad its not just me. had it happen afew time tonigh with me and some of my clan when we were doing event.
I was going to put in an in-game petiton but since i am in UK they dont have one until midnight until 6 am? i am not arround to do in-game petions at that sort of time.

Relog was enough for me. I was leveling one char to lvl40 and the event items were picked up, but did not showed up in the inventory somehow...
Please make it so that only lvl40+ chars can equip the Agathion Seal Bracelet – Tersi’s Light as that will fix the many lvl1 chars being logged in 24/7 right now..
you people should understand a few simple things ...
1. NC West cannot do any complex changes to the events. They only apply patches Korea sends to them, that's it. And I hope you understand that for Korea, the needs of Western users are very low priority (if any at all).
2. In Korea, you need your social security number to create an account. So it is very hard to overcome one account per person rule - you'd need to make accounts for your friends who do not play Lineage2 and I doubt it's legal either. So the problem of infinite number of accounts per person made for farming the event does not stand there. They also have much more servers so the load is more balanced.
so we're screwed. when it was P2P, at least everyone couldn't create any number of accounts to farm stuff or simply bot, now they can...
btw here are few hints about the event for those who get barely anything.
1. you should always do specter farming while in a party. the larger the party is, the longer the specter lasts before dieing, the higher stage it can reach. 4 seems to be enough though.
2. there are more than 3 stages - I think it's 5 (when you see black swirling thing around the specter I think it's the end stage). when it gets to 5 it quickly dissolves. drop rate seems to be better, I've already got 2 attribute crystals and about 10 stones and I didn't always got stage 5, went through less than 100 specters I think (did not count).
3. to make specters grow faster, obviously, do the opening in very narrow passages or corners so the fragments would spawn inside the specter and you'd only need 2 people doing the pushing from 2 possible sides of a specter. perfect is the corner that has walls from 3 sides but such places are hard to find.
4. you don't have to push stuff, instead just spawn more fragments. this is more expensive however. this is useful when the specter is at 3 or 4 stage since it might dissolve fast and is large enough to consume fragments without pushing.

Last time i left Your game was before 2 years, because i was ****** off the bots all over the servers, and I'm thinking about it again. If i am going to pay money for a game, it won't be for a game, that is NOT enjoyable.

Nice job on screwing up the log in for some people who want to play. Event Agathions should be obtainable from level 40 and above it is not like it is hard to level a playable character to 40.
I was trying 15 minutes to log in and I was trying every 10 seconds to get a slot on the server.
And these nice bot alts are provoking everyone by setting up such groups in one of the biggest towns in game and right next to the GK.

so, u have a server heavy as hell, with a lot of login and lag problems and what u do? u create an event that is also based on online time farm, in wich ppl can easily create new accounts just to summon that crap to recieve more event items.
i'm trying to log for almost one hour now and this is ****** ridiculous. is this a private server? if u dont have capacity for certain stuff just dont do it, try to fix the main problems first!

My point wasn't so much that NCWest is making creepy anime kawaii girl emotes, it's that NCKorea is and that this will be transferred over to our game at some point(in the far future).
Somehow I think both NCKorea and NCWest have better things to make use of their time, considering we get content from NCKorea in slow trickles, and it still has gaping holes in it. Like uhh I don't know, server login issues, or event's being thought of on the spot, or sieges not working, or 75% of all players botting, or *dies of old age*.
There is nothing wrong with emotes, in fact I would like to have more....AFTER the core game is fixed. And preferably less crappy emotes that don't creep me out, but I digress~
To me, this is basically giving a car a new coat of paint, when the engine can barely run. Sure, it looks nice, people who haven't looked inside are fooled, and you feel great!

Ye also Mentor buffs make them work offline as well, less afk chars logged, login queue would be nice as well (dont write they cant do it, check innova servers and their login system).
Does NcSoft want to somehow payback the time after GoD update where the bots were offline due to re-setup for new locations or what?
In addition real player cannot compete in login attemps againts 1000+ more bots in queues.

its bad event. ncsoft make fail. like innova becoz ppl who need play cant log in game. becoz more chars 1 lvl online and farm item. and take slot on server.
This event is an EPIC FAIL, makeing a lot of ppl put lvl 1 toons online 24/7 to farm event pieces, the server is already too crowded with accounts and bots, and now, its just plain imposible to log in... after like 1000 tries i just quit. You have to do something about this or a lot of ppl will quit your game. I know you need to make money from it, but be smart and put a limit of account creations per server, if you need more new subscribers to get money from make new servers, but stop letting more ppl create accounts on the servers like chronos that are already full. Hope you read this.

Exactly. When logging on costs nothing (free to play) and people can get a benefit from logging on/afking as many toons as they can, of course they will do it. As a rule, on the internet, most people become greedy jerks when they can get away with it.
So the solution is to NEVER AGAIN make an event which people can benefit from via logging in and just going afk. And change the mentor system please, so that the mentor does not have to stay logged on all the time to give the mentee buffs. Make the buffs last 2-3 hours after the mentor logs off or something like that, or make the buffs one time per day only, lasting 5 hours (so that the mentor has to log on ONCE to automatically give the buffs and then he can log off again).

Why no event lvl limit? no restritions per account? is it always have to be about farming, who will gets more? or is it item price control, or chance for adena selling bots to make more money to sell? Man i played private servers since chronicle 4 appeared, and I never ever seen so many bots as i see here on official (Naia). If i was a gm just walking around 1 hour whispering ppl I could ban hundreds of bots

For the brief amount of time I have been able to stay on, the mini game for this event is deplorable. That aside, my server is down half the time & I cant log in most of the time. I tried logging in for three hours yesterday & couldn't get in, then today I was in for about 45 minutes (hallelujah!) before I got kicked from the server & haven't been able to get back on. Especially dreadful on a weekend when a lot of people have this time as their only real time to play games. Well done for the worst event ever NCSoft.

Since it's the weekend, and a hell of one looks like, I doubt anyone big or major shakering is at his desk to say "oh wow, man, like this is getting out of hand. Let's pull the plug on the event." But on a plus side, your constant nattering about how you can't log in to a game that you don't have to pay for, that you don't have to play, is most humourous.

For each active player im guessing there is atleast 1 box (many ppl have a lvl 40 toon as mentee) and now they give us a new awsome event that makes even more non live players stay online.
Started on Naia and now is everywhere.....1 hour 15min last night to log in Chronos,
2 hours 25 min today and still trying not for long tho....
dunno what you are doing but longest time i needed to login on weekend was 8min, but hell it was long enough.

Just make 1 or 2 accs/ip.. because 200 ******s logs 20 accs each and rest should play with massage.. high traffic.....

I understand you piss of with this event situation, im too, but block 1 account per IP is not the solution. Will prevent to play with my daughter, we are at same home, same IP.

Or do they have to go buy another IP (internet line) for each user to play L2? Multiple computers in the same house will show up as the same internet IP address so blocking multiple accounts on the same IP will just cause most of the family players to go to another MMO, I've seen this happen before.

Yes my friend :) But others MMO's are p2p... which means there are not many people using 2 accounts as no one is so rich today to pay for 2 accounts while all players seek for free!

I have dual-boxed forever, so I don't like the idea of that ability being pulled from under my feet. Dual-boxing is not the problem in this game anyway, it's botters - but since that's about 80% of the population, nothing will ever be done about them. Plus, there's a difference between dual-boxing and then what you see in the shot above, which is likely 25 accounts or more under the same exact IP address.
The real solution would be for NCsoft to patch the event so that only level 40 characters can earn the rewards. Or, the items can be made non-tradable, which would be even more effective.
But judging by the absolute lack of acknowledgement of the issue by NCsoft, it's obvious that no one there cares at all. There have been a bunch of great suggestions made, but the company continues to plead ignorance to the issue - as if they are blind to the thousand topics created as a result of not being able to log in. They can't even be bothered to lock most threads anymore.
Haven't been able to get on to Chronos for several hours now. Was on for 10 minutes after taking 10 minutes to log on, then booted. Almost 3 hours now and varioous attempts to log in ahve failed. this is clearly the most illconceived notion one could imagine. It would be better if the game was shut down for good than left the way it is. This event is supposed to go on until the 18 for fragment drops, so it would seem if nothing is done to fix it, there isn't a lot of point in even trying to log on. If you can't get on early on a Monday, it would seem th rest of the week would be out of the question. Perhaps staying away would cause a loss of interest, which may not be a bad thing.
Stay logged on for max items? Wow. As if I have trouble logging on right now during the weekends. lol Cool event, tho. Server will be full and we will see more people complaining about not being able to log on. lol fun times

Strange in this event you need logged in for two hours.
Lots of people log they 7 toons in account to get 175 fragments every day.
But, this is not the real problem.
The problem is bots, more one time, 1 people log 20 acc's to get 3500 fragments every day.
Players can't play. Free to play, but not playable.

No problem getting on Bartz (first try). So the problem for me is that my characters are all on Chronos. About 4 hours now can't get on. Great event. You acquire event items but can't use them because you can't log on. I do hope something is done by this week's maintenance, although I am not holding my breath.
This goes to all of these ppl flooding the server with bots to farm event items.I WISH and i ask from other ppl not to buy a single event item from a sell shop(well that would be happen in a perfect world)

Couldn't agree more. Everything these days seems to depend on the time you stay logged but that's ridiculous... I spent 15 mins trying to log on during off-peak hours (I play from Europe and I specifically tried to play when its 4 am in US and Brazil).

Now, 10 hours can't get on Chronos. It wasn't this bad on the weekend. I can only surmise that the situation (whatever is causing it) is now worse than on the weekend.
Great event for Koreans where your account is linked to your social security number and after you recieve three infractions you must find yourself a new game or ask your grandmom to use her KSSN.
Obviously, again NCsoft West underestimated abusiveness of NA/EU players and didn't think what consequences this event would have with Free2Play model.
Let's hope this was a good lesson.

I dont like WOW havent even try it, but I can understand now why millions of ppl prefer this game the most.

Big Deal. You had no choice . You had to stop the event. I have a 82 Hell Knight and have missed almost 3 days of exp now. And What about the time factor on my armor and items. I have lost that. To Bad.The weapon and jewels ran out today which wouldn't be annoying if not for the fact I was almost about to change to a higher grade. So sucks to be me to have to buy crap gear just to gain a couple levels.
Personally I'd like to see the drop phase continue without the afk aspect. At least if I could log in and farm some shards to use the spectors of light I have then I would be able to make a dent in the cost of getting new gear that I will only use for a couple levels.

OH COME ON!! I was actually making money on this event. AND no, it's not because I have a bezillion toons logged in to collect spectors, WHICH I DON'T so don't bother saying that. I buy the items from other people, probably the very same people who do have multiple toons logged on. Don't know, don't care, it doesn't effect me because I can log on just fine (10 minutes of button mashing). As I was stating, I buy the items from other people and do the mini game and sell off the drops via AH. Now we gonna end it 1 week early? bah. This event is epic win for me, huntiing spots are empty, I'm making adenas from drops. As events go, its an 11.

You are exclusively punishing your veteran players because you are incapable of handling the farmer/bot problem? Will we be getting compensated or do you really think it's a good idea to alienate the population of 2 of your servers in order to fix a problem of your own creation?

It is not possible to change how the Tersi Agathion works at this time. Therefore the difficult decision was made to end the event early on Chronos and Naia. Although the final stage of the event does not immediately solve the issue, it will bring an end to the issue a week earlier than otherwise. This was certainly not the ideal solution but believe it will alleviate some of the issue, and meanwhile we continue to work on solutions for the surrounding and related issues.
Everyone hounding the forum mods, remember that NC West cannot actually change the game code. That's all programmed in Korea by folks who could give less of a crap about non-Koreans. That is NCSoft's market. The rest of us are just to be exploited as much as possible and who cares what we think. We aren't a part of their country, culture, or game market, so we are less than trash in their eyes.
Getting on NC West does no good because they have control only over the server administration (and maybe some customize-able pieces), not the core game code. And getting on NC-Korea does about as much good as yelling louder when speaking to someone who obviously doesn't understand your language. In this case the language is: customer support for a market they have nothing but contempt for.
If you don't like paying $0 to play an admittedly cool, but perennially poorly supported game, there's always WoW (American company w/ great service), SWTOR (American company w/ great service), Rift (American Company w/ great service), or a plethora of single player games made by western developers who DO give a darn about Euro, N. American, and S. American game-players. Otherwise, give NCWest props for actually trying to do what they can to blunt NC-Korea's destructive ambivalence towards western gamers.

Changing the agathion bracelet to "can only be equipped by level 40 or higher characters" would be a far more elegant solution to the problem, it would eradicate the army of lvl 1s that are the real issue.

Leveling a toon to 40 take about an hour or so now. It's pointless to even try to exclude features of the game to accounts, fake or real. IP bans, also pointless. They are working on how to make it hard for people to exploit the free to play system. The quick and easy answer is to reinstate the P2P system or buy a serial code for the game just like Guild Wars.
